Something strange had to be in your dinner because that night, everyone who went to the carnival seems to have a strange dream. In the dream they are in a snow cover field, all alone. Around them, more snow is softly falling but suddenly, out of nowhere, a little speck of white light flies up to them.
Getting as close to their face as possible, the fairy reaches out and touches their nose with an ice like sensation. It looks as if it was crying though it is hard to tell on the pale body.
‘Please…help us…’
The voice is barely a high pitch whisper before something draws its attention from behind you and it speeds away back to where it came from.
Just as you go to turn around, something strikes and you wake in your bed, your nose cold to the touch.
Dria groaned in her sleep as the hall clock struck 10:30 PM. Her dinner must have been funky that night; Grams cooked it – and she was mad. Dria had returned from the Carnival after the return time of 7:30 with a black eye. Grams assumed that she had been fighting and refused to hear her story that some preteen had pulled some weasel prank in the woods and caused her to trip and hit a tree root. She’d also gotten lost in the ice maze. After a cabbage and bean dinner, it was straight to bed. She had gone straight to sleep though. She found herself in a snow-covered field, all alone. Snow was falling by the bucket-fuls. It was eerie. There was no sun, and the sky was an (yes, I use it again so soon) an eerie blank.
Dria was freezing and was just in her pajamas. They were warm but not warm enough for a blizzard like this. She stood there waiting, because somehow, she knew this was a dream, and that she was waiting for a message of some kind. Should not Drew or Dani be here, she found herself wondering, though she did not know how she knew to wonder it. Drew had the most experience with first contacts. Dani was a Chibi and would be better suited to something of this nature. How did she know what this was? The knowledge she sought was denied to her. And yet, somehow, she knew it. Dria didn’t have to wait much longer, as something seemed to be happening.
Out of nowhere, a tiny white speck of light, came hovering up to her. Rather than being nervous, jittery or flat out shocked, Dria was quite calm. Somehow, she knew what this meeting was, but she was fine – other being worried about the fairy’s people. Yes, she did say fairy. This was a formal meeting, and the senshi could not help without a formal plea. Dria did not understand why she was chosen to go, to meet them, to be the ambassador to the fairy people, but chosen she was, and she would do her duty.
The fairy looked as though she had been crying. Crying desperately. The crisis must be devastating, and worst than the senshi thought. The fairy came as close as she could to Dria’s face and Dria could see the miniscule details of the ice pixie’s face. It was ice, hard yet malleable and at the same time very delicate. The pixie’s eyes were shadowed with a dark blue – and like Dria had thought, the fairy had been sobbing at one point. The fairy touched Dria’s nose with an ice-cold touch that sent shivers through her body. “Please … help … us.” The voice was in a high pitch whisper and sounded like the fairy had trouble speaking human languages. The plea had been made.
Something drew the fairy’s attention behind Dria. The pixie looked frightened and darted away, back to where she came from. Dria started to turn around to see what had frightened the pixie away, when something struck. Suddenly, she woke in her bed, the clock in the hall striking Midnight. Incredibly strange dream. She rolled over and went back to sleep.
