Getting free Hot Chocolate from that new food truck seemed like a great idea at the time, and the blue sprinkles on top was just the cutest touch!
A few hours later though, you just can’t seem to get warm. Nothing helps. Not a bath, not wrapping in ten blankets and not sitting in front of an open fire. Your skin begins to turn a pale blue starting at your fingertips, and if you were warm enough to remove your socks, you’d see your toes were doing the same thing. As the minutes wear on you begin to sneeze small bunches of snowflakes as the icy blue continues to take over your skin. Perhaps it is a good idea to just go to bed and pile on the blankets.
The cold lasts for about six hours, and the blueish tint fades after you again get warm. Maybe you should think twice the next time someone offers you something for free…

The biting cold of Destiny city permeated his thick coat and windbreaker, even past the later of his thick wool socks. He’d been sure to bundle up for the day, but it was hard to ignore the chill of below freezing combined with high winds. It made for an altogether terrible time to be out and about finishing up some of his last minute holiday shopping. (Which really was his own fault, he knew what he wanted to get his brothers, and his parents even for the holiday he just was bad with the whole ‘maybe I should do this like, soon so I’m not waiting until the last minute like I normally am. Which of course, meant absolutely nothing and without fail, Tobias would wait until the very last minute in a strange self fulfilling prophecy.)
The cold sinking into his bone, Tobias was keen on anything that would warm him up. Be that fire, heated fans, or, in this particular case, a cup of hot chocolate. Not his first drink of choice, but not only was it free, it was warm, and frankly in that moment that was all that mattered. The world could ******** right off, he just wanted to be warm. It tasted fine, good even for a cup of hot chocolate. Nothing to write home about. The sprinkles were a bit much but hey, everyone needed a gimmick to stay in business these days. Chugging it down as he made his way to the mall, Tobias was fairly certain there was nothing wrong with him then. After all, it was just a harmless, free cup of hot chocolate right?
Oh ******** him he was not right. A few hours and hell trips that was last minute Christmas shopping later, Tobias was huddled in his flat under every blanket he owned, wondering why in the name of the lord almighty did magically bullshit seem to happen to him this holiday. Was it because he now had powers that magicaly crap just naturally gravitated to him? Was it because he was a bad person and this was karma? Or did he really just have that shitty of luck? He liked to think he wasn’t a bad person, his actions as the dark mirror senshi Petit-Prince aside, he didn’t go out of his way to harm people or make peoples day worse.
At least he thought he didn’t.
Grunting as he wormed his way deeper into his comforter, he gazed at the blue tips of his fingers and the small flecks of frost that formed on his skin. Logic told him he might die from this- ice and blue tipped fingers were frostbite-esque and he probably should get help. But the more magical bullshit side of him said he didn’t feel like he was dying, so he was probably fine. Moaning in misery, Tobias thought about it- he didn’t think he’d done anything out of the ordinary. Much less tempt fate and piss off anyone who’d have this kind of power.
God he just wanted to be warm, was that so much to ask?
