Getting free Hot Chocolate from that new food truck seemed like a great idea at the time, and the blue sprinkles on top was just the cutest touch!
A few hours later though, you just can’t seem to get warm. Nothing helps. Not a bath, not wrapping in ten blankets and not sitting in front of an open fire. Your skin begins to turn a pale blue starting at your fingertips, and if you were warm enough to remove your socks, you’d see your toes were doing the same thing. As the minutes wear on you begin to sneeze small bunches of snowflakes as the icy blue continues to take over your skin. Perhaps it is a good idea to just go to bed and pile on the blankets.
The cold lasts for about six hours, and the blueish tint fades after you again get warm. Maybe you should think twice the next time someone offers you something for free…

Cygnus eyed the stand thoughtfully, wondering what kind of idiot just left things sitting out? Sure, the sign said free, but was it REALLY? Maybe it was free if you bought something else, but whoever the vendor was had left their stand all alone. Somehow, Cygnus wanted to believe that people weren't supposed to just take them because that made him feel like he was causing trouble.
Which, at the moment, was all he really wanted to do.
So, without too much thought about it, he moved to the stand and took two of the cups, hopping away while people were still out of sight. He did not want someone walking up on him and asking why he was dressed like a scarecrow when it was no longer halloween.
Hahah, so funny. People were great.
He leaped to find a place to sit with his 'ill gotten' gains, convincing himself that he totally stole it and was so good, no one noticed. That that no one really cared what the kid was doing with a freebie.
Anyone that did see him probably just thought he was playing.
Not drinking it right away, Cygnus opted to take a walk through the area, though he stayed on the outer perimeter of where people were. He was not really patrolling, ignoring any Chaos auras he might have felt, because he was just not in the mood to pretend to be a super hero tonight. What was the point? Just how many people were they really saving, anyway?
When his own family could just go missing, be declared dead and gone forever. If he couldn’t help them, couldn’t save them, then what was he even doing this for? He was not sure he knew what happened to his brother, but he did have his suspicions. Those ideas just made him angry and more upset than he knew how to deal with, which led to him lashing out in strange and very childish ways.
Not that anyone needed to be reminded that he was a child.
So now he was walking around like an idiot, holding two cups of a drink he was not sure he even wanted to try. He hated milk, and if this was the kind of hot chocolate made with milk rather than water then he was not going to like it anyway. So why would he bother ‘stealing’ it in the first place? He sighed, walking up to a store front and stopping, looking at himself in the window. He looked pathetic. Small. Grumpy. His frown and teary eyes made him angry, and he hauled his arm back as far as he could so he could throw the cup at the window.
It was not strong enough to hurt the window itself, no cracks or anything forming from the impact, but the liquid inside sprayed all over the side of the building, covering the window and making a big mess on the floor. He watched it, and almost felt better, taking a breath to calm his suddenly racing heart.
Finally, he took a sip of his other cup, wrinkling his nose in preparation of not liking it but finding it to be warm and tasty.
