Upon closer inspection, it's a leather wallet, stained from the dampness of the snow. Peeking inside, you find two things: one, a crumpled list of people's first names with random objects scribbled next to them and a collection of dollar bills. A lot of dollar bills. In fact, at first glance, it looks to be well over two hundred dollars. There are no other items in the wallet - no identification, no credit cards, nothing to help you identify the wallet's owner, just a shopping list and a wad of money. Looking around the area, it's clear that nobody else is around. What do you do?
Strange, some might think given that she was a December child, but December came with Christmas, and Christmas ornaments and Christmas cheer–
And well that was the problem.
Not that she was a complete grinch, she had ventured out earlier on in the month when things weren't quite as blatantly Christmassy and picked up and sent out a few Christmas cards - but that was as Christmassy as she got, with her apartment completely unadorned.
Tonight had found her out as Reinerite, adding those who were out carol singing to her targets alongside the drunks who were her usual targets - because if people had the energy to carol sing then they had the energy to spare for the much more important cause that was the Negaverse - at least to her way of thinking they did.
A couple of starseeds had found their way amongst her planned offerings to the cause, their donors a couple of louts who had thought it a good idea to try and hit on the cute 'nutcracker' wannabe and had seemingly had no concept of the word go away - that was until Reinerite had taught them otherwise.
But between the starseeds and the carol singer donors, she had made her quota, and it was cold enough that Reinerite was contemplating stopping for the evening, had even started to turn.
A flash of something against the snow-covered ground. had her pause, the dark patch small but striking against the lightness of the snow, Reinerite pausing–
And then the distinct flare of a General's aura had her standing to attention, as grey eyes glanced about her surroundings - but whilst she wasn't quite sure just where the aura was coming from - it had felt like its source was somewhere close.Sleet Tempest Snape Apologies with the delay on this start Sleet - Gaia wouldn't let me back on yesterday. While she liked the walking singers who went door to door, or stood about and sung, the General was more fond of drunks, drug users, pimps, as well as...couples. Not just your average run of the mill couples but those who were overly clingy and just gross, in that they seemed to want everyone to know how much of a couple they were. They would, as it got closer to Valentines day, become more and more his favored target until on Valentines day they would be the only sort of people he would drain energy from. he really couldn't stand public displays of idiocy.
It wasn't that he had a thing against couples, he had been dating the same person for years now, but he at least didn't shove it in peoples faces that he was with Aiden - he didn't need to. He also just hated Valentines day, though the day after wasn't as bad.
Christmas, and the whole holiday season, was another time of year where he liked to go for couples because they just seemed to want, and need, to cling to each other.
Smelling like pine, from decorating his home, the General teleported from one part of the city another and as he appeared he took a moment to feel things out. "Captain..." He whispered to himself. Another officer was around...a Captain - how nice. Heading towards the signature the bundled up General soon spied who it was and felt a smile curling his lips. "Reinerite."

As it happened Reinerite didn't have any problems with couples either, no her issue was with the sickening abundance of 'so-called' Christmas cheer that seemed to have infected the city and those who seemed to think that they had to inflict said cheer on her.
Still at least as Reinerite she had the power to put them to better uses - or rather put their energy towards better causes.
It seemed that the General's aura had been closer than she thought, it not long before the source came into sight, light from a nearby street light shining on blond hair.
"General," Reinerite said, lips quirking up in a small smile as she realised that she recognised the approaching blond.
"What brings you out tonight Benitoite?" She remembered his request that she not be so formal, when he had kindly given her some pointers on how to use what at the time had been a new weapon, shortly after her promotion to Captain "And is it anything I can give you assistance with?"

"I was out gathering energy. Even as a General I still have a quota. I was in the red light district grabbing the usual trash found there...and the overly affectionate couples." His distaste for both sorts of victims clear as day.
"I decided a change in hunting grounds was in order, I was getting tired of the area." Shrugging his shoulders a bit. "I've been moving about the city tonight." This was just the latest area he was hitting up, or had planned to. It seemed he might be spending more time in this area being social than gathering energy, which was fine with him. "And you? What are you doing out on a night like this?" It wasn't exactly a nice night out, cold and snow on the ground, it was a typical winter night in this city.

Reinerite wrinkled her nose in agreement, "Yes, I usually pick up my quota from there" she said "Well that and the bars" although it was more of those staggering out from the bars that she went after rather than those inside them. "I figure that they may as well be useful" and in 'donating' their energy to the Negaverse she was making the"m useful.
"I do make an exception for the overly Christmassy at this time of year however" she didn't bother to hide the annoyance in her voice. "Particularly those who seem to treat 'spreading the cheer' as some sort of mission or something."
A small smile "Fortunately, they too can be of use to the Negaverse" well at least their energy was "And I'm actually out working on my quota as well - there seems to be a fair few people pretty much asking to be donors this evening."
She recalled the small patch of something that had drawn her attention earlier and stepped over to it, a small frown on her face as it turned out to be a leather wallet - a very much damp leather wallet - one with what appeared to be a crumpled list of some sort and dollar bills–
Actually make that a lot of dollar bills, enough so that Reinerite made a startled sound before she remembered herself.
She held it out so that Benitoite could see, her cool voice visibly puzzled as she murmured "I wonder what idiot lost this?" And whilst it was a question, it wasn't one she was expecting an answer to.

"I don't care for them being useful so much as I dislike such trash remaining in our city. If I can take them out for a night it works. I'd prefer taking them out in a more permanent fashion but that only serves us once." So he let them live in order to continue to help the Negaverse. He had a strong dislike for certain sorts. He wasn't as against couples as to kill them, though he had done it, but his dislike of some that roamed the red light district was easy to figure.
"Yes, some of those people can be rather...boisterous." he wasn't sure how else to say it so nicely. Some people were loud and in your face and made it well known how they felt about the holidays. "I'd say the same for those who insist on keeping the Christ in Christmas, as if it was ever meant to be there." They could be annoying as well, he'd only dealt personally with one such person thankfully. He still wondered why they had walked into a pagan, wiccan, shop around Christmas to shout such things, as well as other things at them all. He wasn't religious, he had no reason to believe in anything, but he'd even been offended by the older woman who had barged into the shop that night.
As she mentioned why she was out, and he assumed went to show her energy collection for the night, hher attention was drawn to something else and so was his own. A wallet...who would forget that? Than again they might have realized they lost it and be looking for it. "That's a lot of money. Whoever lost it is going to miss it....and will likely be looking for it." If they weren't already.
"Is there anything in there to find the owner?" He might be up for killing people, he hadn't much issue with it, but there were some things he was above and wouldn't do. He figured the money was likely meant for the holidays, or something similar, he knew in civilian form he was carrying money on him for the holidays...he had a lot of money on his cards. He didn't carry much for cash.

Reinerite nodded, although she personally thought that calling the overly Christmassy was perhaps putting it a little mildly–
Although they were thankfully a lot less so, once they had helpfully donated their energy - and the Negaverse could always use more energy.
She nodded again at his mention of those who seemed to live for putting the 'Christ' in Christmas "I agree, although fortunately those haven't tended to bother me so much - usually I get the Christmas cheer-wishers for some reason - although I'm probably the last person who would be associated with Christmas cheer."
She looked through the wallet that she'd picked up with a slight frown as she spoke "I hate this time of year."
Reinerite had been expecting to find some sort of identification in the mystery wallet, a driver's license perhaps or some cards - or even an identity card - had figured that she could dump it at a police station so that it could be (in time) reunited with its owner–
But apart from the crumpled piece of paper and the money there was nothing.
"No nothing" she said eventuallt with a shake of her head after a second rifle through, "Just the money and what appears to be a list of some sort" she held out the wallet and the paper towards Benitoite "But it's been crumpled so I;m not sure how important it is."
