A close friend or loved one makes a gift of a fuzzy, oversized sweater that they say they've purchased from one of the local merchants. It's not exactly attractive looking but they seem unfortunately very proud of the purchase so you dutifully at least try it on. This proves to be a poor decision on your part as you soon realize that you're unable to remove the fuzzy monstrosity. Even worse, every word that comes out of your mouth... comes out in song! What the heck?
There's some mischievous magic afoot here but as hard as you try to tug it off or stop breaking into song, you're unable to remove the sweater for one full day and any word out of your mouth happens to have a cheerful tune to it.
Hope you didn't have any major plans for the day!

Sinistra looked at Merlinite skeptically as he held up the strange looking sweater. She knew that ‘ugly’ christmas sweaters were a trend nowadays, but this seemed to be taking the theme too far. It had clashing colors on it, and did not seem particularly christmasy at all, except that it had off-hued greens and reds. It was patterned heavily with what might have been snowflakes. There was… a lot going on.
Merlinite was grinning ear to ear, flashing his fangs, which was rare for him because he did not like showing off all his monster parts. He just could not keep the grin from his face, though, and handed Sinistra the sweater jovially.
“It has music notes on it, see? I thought of you, since you’re a little song bird! Merry Christmas!”
“Oh, thank you so much, Dennis, but I don’t…”
“I know it might be too big, but you can use it to sleep in or to just keep warm! I pulled a full Raphael from the first teenage mutant ninja turtles movie to get it. Camelot got me a trench coat and a hood, and I looked like a total flasher, but I was able to pick up a few presents at the swap! I think this is the best one, but don’t tell the others that. It’s perfect for you! That green is the same as your fuku!”
Sinistra stared at him. He was… correct. The green on the sweater did match the bright green of her outfit, but that was not a selling point as far as she knew. It was a distinctly halloween green, but Merlinite’s smiling face made her heart melt. He was so rarely happy, after all he’d been through, and seeing him so honestly proud of the gift he picked out for her made her immediately regret even the slightest feeling of dismay at seeing it. Who was she to judge a present? That was a terrible thing for her to do, and she felt crippling guilty because of it.
“Thank you so much, Dennis!” She cried, throwing her arms around him, careful of his damaged wing, and hugged him tightly. Tighter than he was anticipating, anyway, and he laughed in surprise as he hugged her back.
“I knew you’d like it! Okay, I better go before my aura gets you in trouble. But have a good Christmas, okay!”
“Yes, you too. Thank you again, it’s really great. Oh, here.” She quickly moved to pull it on over her clothes, smiling at him sheepishly. When she opened her mouth, her words came out a little more sing-songy than she was aiming for. “It fits~”
Thinking she was just playing up the musical angle, he beamed at her and swished his tail happily. He gave her another quick hug before waving and leaping up to the roofs. He was gone soon enough, leaving Sinistra blinking in confusion and concern. Okay. Time to take this thing off, she thought, but the sweater had other ideas.
She struggled with it, in the middle of the sidewalk, though it was late at night and no one was around the library at the moment, but it refused to come up over her head. It was way too big on her to be stuck, so what was going on?!
“Heeeelp me, oh help me, pleeaase~~~” she sang out, eeping in surprise at her own voice.
