Getting free Hot Chocolate from that new food truck seemed like a great idea at the time, and the blue sprinkles on top was just the cutest touch!
A few hours later though, you just can’t seem to get warm. Nothing helps. Not a bath, not wrapping in ten blankets and not sitting in front of an open fire. Your skin begins to turn a pale blue starting at your fingertips, and if you were warm enough to remove your socks, you’d see your toes were doing the same thing. As the minutes wear on you begin to sneeze small bunches of snowflakes as the icy blue continues to take over your skin. Perhaps it is a good idea to just go to bed and pile on the blankets.
The cold lasts for about six hours, and the blueish tint fades after you again get warm. Maybe you should think twice the next time someone offers you something for free…
Drew was walking home – yes walking. His motorcycle had been grounded ever since Dria had her accident. So, yes, he was walking home from school. And it was chilly out – of course, it was December, and this was Destiny City, in probably Virginia – hmm he should really look that up. Anyways it was chilly, and he was walking home. How he wished he was somewhere hot, somewhere, like Etamin, and its deserts…. There the sweat would be running down him as he strolled down the street, in his … um kilt, only his kilt and shoes… okay changing the subject, there was a cozy new food truck suddenly pulling next to him. “Hey, you want a free hot chocolate kid?” Kid? He bristled at the word, he was almost 18. But a hot chocolate? And free at that? Awesome. Just the thing to warm him up. “Sure man.” “Here, I’ll add our complimentary, signature blue sprinkles. They’re just the cutest.” Sure, whatever just give me the hot coco, before I freeze. “Okay, thanks.”

Knot had just finished up some...ahem, shady business, and with how far into December it was, there was no denying the chill that clung to the air. She'd been walking by as well, when she had caught sight of the food truck offering free hot chocolate. Well, at first thought, that did seem sketchy to a degree. Was there something wrong with it for it to be free? After only a moment's debate though, Knot went ahead and got in line behind a young man. It was just hot chocolate. It was incredibly hard to mess that up...so really, what was the worst that could happen? Famous last words. When the young man before her was given his cup, Knot stepped up to the counter of the food truck next. "Same for me as well, please. I'd love the sprinkles too---they are adorable." When a cup was produced for her, complete with the blue sprinkles, the woman took it gratefully, enjoying the warmth that seeped into her hands, and turned to face Drew. "Hits the spot, yeah?" She asked, smiling at him. Sailor Hawk This is great! Thank you so much!

Drew nodded to the woman, as he sipped his hot cocoa. It was hot, and sweet and chocolatey and was that a bit of mint from the blue sparkles? He didn’t know, but it seemed to cool off the hot cocoa a bit. Then strangely enough, it started. Ice cold prickles in his fingertips. Pins and needles as well. And he had the oddest sensation… he took off his gloves as he put down his empty cocoa cup into the trash. He looked at his fingertip – they were ice blue. No, he could have frostbite in this short of time. He turned to the truck, but it had already as silently as it had come. His hands were shaking badly now from severe could and the blue had spread to his hands. He quickly turned to the lady, “Ma’am, I’m sorry but-” He used his now lump of hands to attempt to knock her drink to the ground, for her own safety. Lucyal No problem thank you. Word Count: You 183, Me 333. Suggestion; maybe the drink has some strange effect when it hits the ground

Knot couldn't help but watch the young man over the rim of her cup, as he started to act in a way that said something was off. Seeing what he was doing had stalled her in taking a sip of her own cup, the hot chocolate still just between her hands. When Drew turned to look, Knot couldn't help but follow his gaze, and she was surprised to see that the food truck was gone. So quietly. Suddenly this was really odd--- The woman started lightly as she felt the cup be knocked out of her hands, and her gaze followed it as the contents pooled on the sidewalk--- Only for the hot cocoa to turn from a rich brown to a blue---and then just straight up into frost on the sidewalk. "... Oh." Brows lifted into her bangs, and she looked up at Drew, and that's when she noticed his hands. The same blue the hot cocoa had been. "Hey---are you feeling alright?" It was also not hard to notice the way he was starting to shake. "Do you want to go to the hospital? I'll go with you." She asked, concerned. This was the most bizarre case of food poisoning she had never seen, but it was still some sort of food poisoning to her none the less. Sailor Hawk You don't have to keep track of my word count! I'm just here for story fun : ) thank you though!

Drew’s arms were now shaking and turning ice blue. The woman asked if she could go with him to the hospital. Judging by the cocoa frost on the ground, this was no food poisoning – or anything that the hospital could fix. It was magic. “Ma..Ma’am I don’t think this is anything they could fix.” He shook uncontrollably as the blue spread to his chest and lower regions. He sat down on a nearby bench, as his legs went numb. He pulled his coat closer with his hands – lumps of them that they were. Then he breathed on his hands and rubbed them together as best he could. He just couldn’t get warm. His face started to turn blue, that icy, frosty blue of that coco frost on the ground. Now his whole body was blue and shaking uncontrollably. Judging by the fact that this was having to something with a Christmas item, and he hadn’t seen a youma or an agent or corrupt or DMS yet, this was probably stemming from Destiny City Christmas Magic. Destiny City had so much magic already that Christmas and other Holidays like Halloween that were based on magic often sprouted their own magic. And despite Christmas being a good Holiday, positive or negative magic could spring from it. Drew had learned this from being a Scout for over 2 years. This just happened to be negative. It would pass in time. How much he didn’t know. “It’ll pass in time.” He told the nice lady. He certainly couldn’t tell her what he knew.

Truth be told, she didn't think it was something a regular hospital could fix, either. How rapidly Drew's skin was changing was anything but normal. Was the Negaverse behind this? Knot's brows furrowed briefly as she looked at the young man, still concerned regardless. She hadn't heard of any plans like this in Negaspace the last time she had checked in but...who knew, really. She was also aware that weird things just simply happened around the holidays---like during Halloween. Hopefully, this just didn't happen to be deadly. Hopefully. Knot reached out to touch his shoulder. "I sure hope so." She replied. "But I doubt staying out in the cold is helping. Would it be alright for me to walk you home? You can get under the covers and get warm as it passes. It's the least I can do after you saved me from a similar fate." She smiled at him, grateful. "Thank you. My name's Knot. What's your's, hm?"

Drew shook his head slowly. “Ca-Can’t go-go home.” He appreciated the woman’s thoughts, but he couldn’t go home right now, not with Grams at home. She had banished him from the house for one week. Funny she didn’t even live there. The nice lady though was talking again. She said her name was Knot. What an interesting name. She asked him his. “Drew, Drew Bones.” Guess his was interesting too, now that you think about it. As he sat there, the color started returning to his face, at least. “Th-thank y-you.” He smiled, his teeth still chattering. He thought it might be better if he tried talking. “Go-ot a tw-twin sister, D-Dria. A li-little sis-ster, D-ani. An A-aunt, D-ia. W-e’re all D-d’s.” He smiled the warmth coming back into his chest. “My buh-best fri-friend is a Duh-d too…”

A brow lifted at this bit of news, but she didn't pry. She was somewhat in a similar situation herself, except she didn't really have a home anymore. Just places where she rested her head. Instead, the woman took a seat beside him on the bench, and was dedicated to at least sitting with him until he felt he could move again. "It's nice to meet you, Drew." She replied, but paused. "Well---perhaps it would have been better under different circumstances, but the sentiment is still there none the less." Knot offered him a smile. She listened as he spoke, and couldn't help but laugh, lightly. "You're not kidding. You and your family are all about the D's." She paused for a moment. "What do you do, Drew? Still in school?"

Drew nodded. The shaking was slowly going away and so was the blues, they were just in his arms and legs. “Oh, I-I forgot, Great Un-ncle Darwishi, but he lives in Egypt.” She asked him about what he did, if he was still in school. “Yeah, I’m a-a senior in High School. I al-lso work as an intern at my family’s business-B-Bones Enigineering – just part-time g-grunt work. Tell you the truth, I have y-yet to think about my plans after high school – b-been too busy.” The feeling was coming back into his arms now. “All I know is that I have the desire to protect. But I kind of want to stay local, so military is out of the question. I don’t know, I guess police officer maybe. But I have a somewhat sh-shady past… nothing too bad… delinquency, vandalism, shoplifting. All minor offenses – see I w-was in a bad state… my twin went missing, and I th-thought that I might never see her again – so I kind of flipped out. Most of my family flipped out in their own little ways, but I did so the worst. In fact,” His face now turned red. “The reason I can’t go home right now, is my Grams is visiting. This is the first time in 6 years she has visited us. Since my twin vanished (she’s back now). Grams sent out an ultimatum – she said she would come to visit for a week, but only if I was not there. Dad gave me the choice and I left the house – kind of in a rage. See six years ago… Grams and Granpa came to help and support us when my twin vanished. But an investigator mentioned that we might never see her again. I flipped out… and had to be restrained. It was not the last time either, but… b-ut..” The shivering and blueness had left his body, he was now shaking from crying. “Granpa had a fatal heart attack. They still aren’t completely sure that I didn’t cause it. But Grams blames me…” There it was out…. Lucyal just made double, sorry didn't mean to do all this it just flowed
