Among the nearby winter wonderland festivities sits a natural-made skating rink, constantly covered in men and women of all ages and all range of skill - some skate like pros and some are clearly new to the sport. As you make your way onto the ice, you seem to be doing fine… that is, until a wayward snowball comes hurtling in your direction -- look out! Hands find their way around you… have you been saved by a friend, or perhaps a good Samaritan that was skating by? Do they manage to keep you standing or did you manage to take them down with you? One thing's for certain...not even the most professional of ice skaters could have prepared themselves for that!

Dani made her way on to the ice skating rink. She was alone, for once Drew and Dria weren’t with her. They were in the area, just not with her at the moment. They didn’t know what she was about to do; go ice skating for the first time and she was going to do it alone. She was doing it pretty well too. She had gotten out onto the ice and had gotten her balance as she held on to the wall. She watched as others skated by, having fun. Slowly she eased off the wall and out into the open ice. A little rocky at first, then she got into the swing of things.

Dani skated around and around, and then saw, lo and behold, Rini get on the rink. She waited till she got her balance, then started to skate her way. She didn’t want to startle her, by coming up on her all of a sudden, so she started to call out to her. “Hey Ri-” Just then someone jostled past her and the words were lost in the crowd. It took Dani a few more go around to get her balance again and by this time, it seemed like Rini was really getting going. She tried again, “Hey RINI!” Suddenly, out of nowhere! Wham! And Dani was down! Hard. What had hit her? It was… a snowball? Someone threw a freakin’ snowball at her, when she was ice skating. “Ugh!” Her ankle sudden hurt bad and when she looked down, it was in a stiff awkward position. She swallowed. Oh boy…

Rini was suddenly by Dani’s side, asking if Dani was ok, if anything hurt. Dani’s face turned a darker shade of tan than it usually was. She sat up and grimaced. Her ankle was stiff and awkward, but she could move it. “I think my ankle is twisted, but nothing else.” Some little boys peered over the side of the rink. “S-ssorry. It was an a-aaccident.” One of them looked more afraid of his mother who was looking particularly furious with him, then actually sorry for his mistake. Dani sighed and nodded. She unlaced the skates and took them off (for how could she skate now, when she could barely walk?). She slowly pushed herself up on her good leg and hobbled a little, picking up her skates. Everyone had stopped skating in their shock and needed to know she was okay. They applauded now and made a path for her to make her way out.

Dani took the pro-offered shoulder and handed her friend the skates. “Thank you, that would be great.” She made her way on the ice and on to a bench where a medic looked at her ankle. “Light Sprain,” was the diagnosis and her ankle was wrapped and iced. Meanwhile “Andrew and Xandria Bones” were paged to the Skating Rink, to pick up their younger sister “Danielle Bones” who had “An accident.” She felt weird and a little nervous as she had not told Drew and Dria that she had gone skating, in fact this was her first time. But she was glad that she got to wait with Rini and she told her so.
