Quote: On a cold winter night, when the moon is nearly full and bright in the sky, you hear laughter. At first, you can't place it, but then you feel little pokes and prods, tugs on your hair, your clothes. Sometimes you think you see something out of the corner of your eye--a small, icy body. Sometimes you hear wings flapping in the night. As long as you are out in the cold, you feel eyes on you and you find yourself the target of small mischief from what seems to be icy little fairies, though they move too fast for you to see or grab. They never speak, only laugh. When you go inside, or venture to anywhere with too much light or heat, they seem to disappear and do not bother you again. Another cold night out. Larissa thought to herself as she started her patrol again. She was just so bored staying inside all day since she tried to avoid the cold as much as possible. It wasn't like she wanted to go out at night either, but at least she could do something such as powering up and seeing if she could find any Negaverse agents to fight. Sure, it was usually life or death, but it was better than being stuck inside! She could go shopping sure, but she didn't find it as much fun when she didn't have any money to spend on things. If she wanted to just look at stuff, she could look at it on the internet in the comfort of her own room with a personal heater. She couldn't do the same thing when it came to patrolling for "evil" though. She huffed as she continued to walk around the park when she thought she felt a familiar signature of a certain senshi... And ran over to where she thought they were.

Cold weather was not something the senshi of kappa liked, who did? It was why he was bundled up in a coat, scarf, and proper snow boots. It was snowing out - again. He knew there was really no escape from the snow when winter came, not in this city. He always had the option of going to visit family in China but it was cold as hell there too...and likely snowing. There was, for him, no escape. If he had a choice he wouldn't patrol on cold nights but with winter being so many months long and all of them being cold...he had to go out and deal with the cold, or just hide inside and not do his duty as a senshi. He had to be a senshi, had to do his duty.
He just hated it.
He was just cold as hell.
Kicking at a pile of snow, sending up a cloud of the cold white stuff, Cetus continued through the park. Mentally he was cursing the fact his family had moved to a city like this - it had four seasons. It had a winter.
But he knew why his family had come to this country so long ago - they had to.
Pausing for a moment when he felt the signature of another senshi he shook his head. He wasn't really into socializing tonight, unless they came to him, so he didn't head towards the signature. He was sort of hoping to take his bad mood out on someone chaos oriented but no luck yet; poor him.
Was the signature getting closer? Maybe...he wasn't sure. It sort of seemed like it.

Larissa wasn't sure if she was going in the right direction at first, even for a Super senshi signatures seemed to be a somewhat imprecise way of locating someone, but eventually she saw a figure, and getting a bit closer, saw that it was a certain Super senshi that she had hunted a youma with. She waved her hand, unable to see if the other senshi was looking in her direction or not, so she decided she should go up and talk to him. As she was making her way through the snow, glad to have such high boots but they were a bit hard to use with heels on them, she made it close to where the other senshi was, when she thought she saw... some bright light? It looked to be moving around... but perhaps it was just the moon's light or some other light fixture? She didn't pay any mind to it as she moved closer to the other and eventually yelled out, "Cetus! Hey, over here!" She said, still walking as well as she could over to him, though still struggling a bit. If only their uniforms changed with the weather!

He did his best, especially with the winter weather here, to dress for the weather. That included snowboots which were nice and warm, he had left his geta somewhere in the snow in some bushes when he'd tossed them earlier. He was, thankfully ,nice and warm and he didn't stand out too much as most of his uniform was covered by the long puffy coat he wore. If he had pulled the hood up he really wouldn't stand out.
He figured he wouldn't stand out and yet someone was waving and approaching him - a senshi. He knew her, had seen her a few times. "Larissa." It was good to see her, he would admit to that easily enough. "What are you doing out tonight?" What was either of them doing out tonight? Aside from freezing it was likely obvious what they were doing out...and it wasn't something many were doing it seemed, she was the first person he'd sensed tonight.
Shifting a bit he turned his head as he heard something, something soft, it sounded like laughter or giggles maybe. Hmmm...maybe they weren't alone?

Larissa pulled the sweater she had on tighter around her. She had only brought it, and she was really starting to wonder if she shouldn't have brought a full winter coat at this point. But at least Cetus had recognized her! And she made her way as quickly as she could over to him, taking a moment to catch her breath once she got back to him. "Hey... Well I was patrolling, but at this point I would really just like to find an agent or a youma to beat up. Make it worth the trip out, you know?" Or maybe if she was powerful enough, run all the way to Florida. That was warm this time of year, right? Suddenly, she heard laughter too, and looked at where Cetus had turned his head. Nothing... But then she heard it again! This time on the other side of her! She turned to face it, but again, there was nothing! She turned back to Cetus, to see if he had heard anything, when suddenly a huge glob of snow struck her in the face, covering her eyes and getting a bit in her nose! "What?!" She said, trying to get the snow off her face as fast as possible.

"I don't think anyone else is out tonight - not in this area anyway. I haven't sensed anyone till now." And he doubted that would change. It was cold out and apparently chaos was smarter than they were, for once. "We should soon head home as well." Not just yet, they had just run into each other, but soon. it would be best for them both to do just that. "We can find something to beat up when it's a bit warmer out." On another night. Maybe when spring came? He wished he could slack off that much but he would feel guilt over that. He couldn't allow himself that much time off again.
Having his coat tugged at he turned, to try and find whatever the cause was, but nothing was there when he turned around. Whatever was going on it wasn't amusing. He was just in the process of turning around, towards Larissa, when he heard the sound of snow smacking something. Oh...it had hit her.
"It would seem like we aren't alone. But not a youma...." And there was laughter - again. What was here?

Larissa wanted to say something. Well, she wanted to yell out "THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!" But she knew that wouldn't get anywhere. He was only making an observation, and at least he acknowledged that something was going on. "Yeah... warmer would be better." At this point she was cursing the very snow's existence. She finally got the last of the snow out of her eyes and looked around, trying to find the next glob of snow that may come her way. "Whatever it is, I don't want to stick around to find out if it's not a youma. There's a small cafe nearby. I don't think they would follow us somewhere with a heater..." It was the only thing she could think of anyway. And if they did then she would happily watch, if it wasn't invisible, whatever it was that was giggling and assaulting them with snow, MELT.

"Not likely, not if they are somehow cold inspired." Or something similar, he wasn't sure what word to use to describe what was around them being co,d, or winter, based. He didn't know what to think of it but he didn't like it. "That sounds like a good idea. We can also warm up before returning home." And hopefully they wouldn't be followed, he doubted whatever it was would follow. The problem was...what was it? It wasn't a youma.
"I wonder who else has noticed, and experienced, this. Maybe they saw something that we didn't...." But he didn't know anyone really, aside from his cousin and a small handful of others. He wasn't social really. He wasn't a people person, even though he did know he should be since team work should be a thing - it was needed. He just couldn't find it within himself to want to work with others, especially those who didn't work well with others due to ego and other things.
"Lead the way." Motioning for her to do just that.

What she wouldn't give to have the powers of the Human Torch right now. But instead, all they could do was try to head inside somewhere warm, and luckily Cetus agreed with the plan. "All right then." She said, before moving to her left and around a corner, and just across the street she saw the cafe. The only place they could go unless they wanted to wander around until they found somewhere else that was open. She quickly powered down, making sure that Cetus had seen her, before going as quickly as she could across the street. Fortunately, no cars seemed to be driving the streets tonight and she was able to get across quickly. She turned around and waited for Cetus to follow her. They would have to talk about this. First it was the dumb youma, and then these giggly attackers. They could post about it in the database at least.

Following behind her he powered down as soon as he was sure no one, save for the female, would see him. He had seen who Larissa was, good for him as he didn't want to lose her, and towards the cafe he followed her. He was just a few steps behind as he approached the warm, and inviting, looking cafe.
"Winter is being winter in this city." Moving his fingers through his dark, inky black, hair he shook his head. It was, for him anyway, still a bit odd to have his hair back to it's natural color .The green had been there for so long but it certainly wasn't missed, his natural black had been missed.
"Something needs to stop the ridiculous events this time of year."

Cynthia let out a sigh of relief when the used-to-be-Senshi Cetus came up to her. She had to admit he looked good with black hair. Though green was a hard one to pull off, but he did it nicely. "I wish it was just winter. It's annoying enough having to deal with the cold and ice." Snow was okay though, even if it could be slippery. But not as slippery as plain old ice. "I agree. If the Negaverse isn't behind this, and it's just some sort of natural magical energy or something, then we should find the source of it." She wanted to add "and beat it up" but refrained. After all, they didn't know exactly what was causing it. And if it was just something like some magical leylines in the planet, they couldn't exactly beat something that was neither liquid or solid. She walked into the cafe, and could no longer hear the giggling, and let her shoulders drop, knowing that they hadn't been followed inside. She turned back to look at her "companion". "And now that we're here, a hot drink sounds good. Maybe if we take it out and hear the giggling again, we can throw it on them." She said, trying not to laugh. It was an evil thought, but they were annoying! With that she moved over to the counter to order something, and could hopefully have a nice chat of what to do next with her fellow senshi-as-a-civ. Sleet Tempest Snape last post from me, thanks so much!

"If it were a normal winter we wouldn't be living in this s**t city - you know that. This city has the worst winters." Cold and ice and snow were normal, they went hand in hand with winter, but this city went overboard with winter and decided to just throw even more s**t at them all, and somehow people still lived in this city. "It's amazing so many people still live here and this city isn't just senshi, Negaverse, and other powered people." He commented, just loud enough for her to hear. He didn't need other people hearing him.
"If something physical is behind all this s**t...we need to find it and remove it. This is too much. But I doubt anyone could organize, and cooperate enough, to figure out if there is a source and if so deal with it." He figured any group of senshi would come to blows, amongst each other, long before they could ever hope to find the source for this winter mayhem. He didn't find his side to be organized and figured egos and other personality traits took over and dominated things too much. It kept them from achieving things.
"I'd rather not waste a drink on whatever is out there." Shrugging he headed for the counter to order, at the others side, he picked something fairly basic and simple. He didn't order some over the top, complicated, thing. He was fairly straight to the point. "We might as well spend some time in here enjoying a hot drink and warming up. Then we can each go home for the night." For now though it was worth sitting down and perhaps getting to know each other.
