Lalaki was sitting at the booth that his family ran with two of his siblings, both of which were older then Lalaki was. Konah, his oldest brother who was also a merchant, and his second oldest brother Kiele who was strictly a tailor but was here for the fun of it. He was sitting behind Lala and Konah, working on weaving together various colors of plant materials, working on creating a solid piece that would then be turned into some form of clothing or another.

The attention of Lala was torn between watching the various passersby and watching as Kiele worked on his task. It had been a pretty decent day when it came to selling their wares, meaning that their parents should be pretty pleased. They weren't working the booth today due to going out to procure more of the materials that they used to make clothing. It was one of those tasks that the 'merchants' of the house all had to learn, something that he would need to figure out himself one day. Well, maybe...? He still hadn't decided if he wanted to follow along after the merchant side of the family or the tailor side.

Giving a little sighing sound he said to his brothers, "I still have no idea if I should concentrate on tailoring or merchant...ing." He knew he'd have to pick one or the other... unless some wealthy sort came along to sweep Lalaki off of his feet. It would be rather nice to be able to be a bit lazier in life... but he doubted that he'd be so lucky. As such he really should try to figure out what he wanted to do. He was almost leaning merchant since it was more chatting with people all day and less hands, tedious, and very intricate on work. Kiele here might have the mind for such things but Lalaki got a bit bored when he was stuck doing such things for too terribly long.

"I think I'm leaning merchant." A comment that didn't seem to come as too much of a surprise to his older brothers as they chuckled and were quick to say that it 'suited him more'. If that was a compliment or an insult he wasn't really certain.

Rewi had spent as little time as possible in the reefs. True, he was the sort to procrastinate, particularly when it came to something unpleasant (like heading home to his parents), but knowing how long he'd taken to return to them and how surely his mother and eldest sister worried about him left an uncomfortable itch along his spine, a peculiar anxiety. It was something Rewi wasn't entirely familiar with and certainly didn't like. That, and he wasn't especially fond of most 'new' things to begin with. The beaches along the oceanside had seemed nicer than the rivers... But it still wasn't home, and Rewi wanted to be home.

Just not scrutinized and ridiculed by his father.

Still, it had been now nearly a full passing of the seasons since he'd seen them, after a trip that was supposed to having taken perhaps only two months. He'd never sent them any kind of message or assurance, never shown his face in Elehun since he'd left... For all the dread Rewi held in his heart for what his father might say to him, he couldn't leave his mother to worry for any longer. Though he wouldn't usually have concerned himself over her feelings (she was the adult here, and his mother, besides. It was only right for her to worry about him), in this case, when he knew her fears would be directly his fault, he couldn't help it.

Rewi had already decided he couldn't spend as long lingering in the rivers this time as he had last time. He needed to head straight through them to reach the swamplands. Straight through. No stops or friend-making.

But since he was here, he might as well at least take the long way around? He'd already done so much traveling since he'd last been home. It would be a shame to say while recounting his journey to his family that right at the end he'd grown weary and lazy and made for home as quickly as possible. As long as he could say something that sounded like he'd tried his hardest and put forth much effort, his father wouldn't be upset... Rewi knew it.

Besides, he had done a lot of growing over the various expeditions he'd taken...

It seemed a simple enough thing to admit. If he hadn't learned anything at all since his departure, he surely wouldn't even be alive now, but he had his own craft, had sustained his health in environments unfamiliar to him, and had met a multitude of people. Maybe he didn't have much to show physically from the trip, but did that really matter?

The thought did make Rewi wonder though, if he ought to pick up some kind of presents from the places he'd been. His gaze flit through the Pale'iko market. He never had many supplies to trade with him nowadays. Most surplus had been gone pretty quickly, so if he did want to be able to afford anything in this lively market, he'd have to come up with something else entirely.
