Quote:
Near the outskirts of the clearing is a snow covered pathway leading into the adjacent forest. Couples and clusters of friends disappear into the shaded area, their delight in the beautiful scenery loud enough for any passersby to hear. Deciding to venture in to see what the fuss is all about, you (and perhaps whoever you're with) head towards the marked path. Twenty minutes or so in and you soon realize that you must have fallen distracted at some point because the path is no longer obvious and there's neither sound nor sight of any other people around. The sun begins to set and you can swear you hear quiet whispers among the trees. You'd better find your way back somehow - and fast - before the whispers’ owners find you first.

Destiny City always seemed to go all out for holiday events. Trinity had heard about the carnival celebrating the winter season and had hemmed and hawed over deciding if she wanted to attend. A day before everything was set to begin the young woman finally made her decision to attend the festivities. Taking care to dress in multiple layers that flowed around her. Winter was not kind to her wardrobe. The young woman had opted to take her camera along for afternoon after packing it carefully into her carrying case. Once she arrived at the location where the event was being held she could begin finding those magical shots. That was the plan at least - now she wasn't so sure what was going on. She stumbled once more in the darkened forest, attempting to figure out how she had managed to get so turned around.

Trinity had, for the most part, had been having an afternoon that was filled with conversations with random passerby. Events like these helped to make connections for the budding photographer. Trin loved to help others out by taking pictures and promising to send them a copy via social platforms and never thought about asking for any compensation. She loved to see those around her smiling.

Trinity wasn't smiling now. Nope, she was scowling something fierce at the tree that she was certain she'd already passed once before. Sometime in the afternoon she'd followed behind a group of revellers as they trekked into the forest via a wide marked path. Feeling that she'd get some great pictures in the forest Trinity had followed them at a sedate pace. Her camera was around her neck for the most part as she would find some interesting thing to take some photos of before continuing onward. However it had been quite awhile since the teen had heard any conversation drifting back from the large group that had been ahead of her and it was with dawning realization that she was no longer on a path that seemed to have markers. How had she ended up getting so turned around? Pulling out her cellphone Trinity activated the flashlight app and shone the beam around. Nothing stood out. Holding the phone out blue eyes peered into the surrounding environment. Where those whispers she was hearing? Trin couldn't see anyone around her and yet to her ears it sounded like malevolent whispers were all around her. What exactly was going on? Had she finally lost her mind? No, she was still sane but it was an interesting, if not, slightly frightening scenario.

"Okay, no need to panic yet. I simply got turned around. Sure those whispers are creepy but I can deal," her voice was soft as she brought her camera back up to peer through the lens. Surely if anything creepy were out there it would make a great story if she could snap a picture of something. Her nerves were seemingly fine although in she did notice a small tremble in her hands. Dusk had fallen and she was alone; but she would be fine. Right?

Figured this works well for an opening.

Lian Hua was growing to love the holidays, and as she let herself become more and more active in the world around her, she found that people this time of year were just generally more pleasant. It was nice. She had been strolling around, a dainty white cat almost invisible in the white snow. The trails and clearing made it easy for her to observe people around her, and she found it enchanting when people actually did manage to spot her, how they seemed absolutely delighted. She even got some snacks out of the dear, which she happily nibbled on. Aside from that monstrosity the young boy had called a slim-jim. She had politely declined but gave him a nice gentle head boop to show her appreciation.

It was during said encounter she felt a twinge of... something. A familiar something, and it took her a few minutes of focusing to realize that it was the feeling of an unawoken senshi near her. the only problem was, there were so many people! Pale silvery mirrors of eyes scanned over the crowd. large clusters of people gathered in conversation, some carolers, many people going on walks to enjoy the calm snow clad scenery.

It felt like it was coming from those groups, the only problem was there were several heading off into the forests. But she was almost certain the senshi was with them, so she took off, paws leaving imprints of toe-beans in the slow as she darted like a little white ghost into the trees.

Lian Hua caught up to a rather large group of people, talking happily amongst themselves and approached them with a sweet little meow, which was met with several aws and some scritches. She had been certain the feeling was comeing from this group, only now that she was with them... she was certain it wasn't. Oh man, she was getting rusty.

She nimbly dodged well meaning hands who wanted to scoop her up and take her some place warm, darting back into the trees, grateful for their kindness, but she really did not have time for it. Strangely, the aura felt like it was coming back from the way she came. She darted through little paths that were hardly more then indents in the snow, and then frowned in confusion when the aura felt like it was.... coming back from the first place she was at just 15 minutes ago?

She felt like she was going in circles, and for some reason, the sense of urgency that drove her was growing more and more prominent. On what felt like her 20th loop through the forest, alarmingly, she swore she heard voices whispering through the trees, to the point where it made her fur stand on end, and for a moment she couldn't fight a quiet hiss that escaped her. This.... was not normal. It felt malevolent and she would not leave an unawoken senshi alone with whatever dark entity was wondering the forest.

Hopefully this would not result in her getting her tail kicked. She bolted through the snow one more time, popping out from the underbrush the land squarely in the middle of what could not even be considered a trail, but was simple a small patch of unobscured snowy earth in the gaze of a young girl, path illuminated what appeared to be a cell-phone ( Honestly, it was a little hard to tell, going from dusky night vision to directed light )

On the bright side though, as she blinked silvery eyes up at the girl, she was certain this was who she was feeling. The only downside.... the feeling of being watched, and the whispers, was seeming to grow louder with each passing moment.

Lian Hua looked back at the trees around her, but carefully approached the girl with a sweet meow, pausing in the snow and putting on her most "yes, I am a sweet pretty kitty lets be friends"

Getting the humans approval usually made the whole talking thing later a whole lot more palatable for them. Usually.

Scanning such a space as a forest with a dismal flashlight on her phone could only do so much. Trinity had not made much progress in trying to identify the unusual noises that were seemingly coming from all around her. The fact of the matter was this little jaunt into the woods had become less fun by each passing moment and although Trinity was managing the growing fear welling up inside ... it was starting to become obvious that she was getting rattled by this experience. Even so she pressed forward, illuminating the barely-there path through several small bushes. The hairs on the back of her neck were starting to rise and she glanced sharply behind her - almost swearing that she saw movement in the dark shadows that were growing by each second as the sun finally sank below the horizon.

"Gotta talk to the organizers about building a better path system in here. Surely they don't want angry patrons storming out of the woods hours later," even hearing her own voice was adding to the intensity of wrongness that was starting to accompany the growing sound of whispers that could be heard and Trinity actually flinched this time. "Just hope there is no axe-murderer out here. It would be just my luck if there was."

It was as she spoke this that the bushes in front of her shook and a small startled scream was Trinity's greeting before the things shape registered in her mind. It was only a cat. Trinity paused to observe the animal before squinting at it. While not really a normal occurrence Trinity couldn't find any reason why a cat couldn't be in the forest. Maybe this was where it hunted? Crouching down and holding out a hand - palm up - Trinity tried coaxing the animal towards her. It hadn't seemed to be aggressive yet and had even given her what she assumed was a friendly meow; but one could never be one hundred percent sure of anything when it came to wildlife, "are you lost too?"
