A close friend or loved one makes a gift of a fuzzy, oversized sweater that they say they've purchased from one of the local merchants. It's not exactly attractive looking but they seem unfortunately very proud of the purchase so you dutifully at least try it on. This proves to be a poor decision on your part as you soon realize that you're unable to remove the fuzzy monstrosity. Even worse, every word that comes out of your mouth... comes out in song! What the heck?
There's some mischievous magic afoot here but as hard as you try to tug it off or stop breaking into song, you're unable to remove the sweater for one full day and any word out of your mouth happens to have a cheerful tune to it.
Hope you didn't have any major plans for the day!

Cynthia had given the sweater a look when her mom had presented it to her. It was... ugly to say the least. But her mom had gotten it for that reason. Weren't ugly-sweater parties a thing nowadays? But Cynthia hadn't been invited to any, so she had considered it a waste of her mother's money.
Nonetheless she had been forced to try it on. And immediately she had felt like she should burn it. It was super itchy, totally uncomfortable, and she was almost cursing her mom about having bought the thing in the first place. What was it made out of, itching powder? She had immediately started to scratch as soon as it was over her head, and if she didn't get it off soon, she would start bleeding from having to scratch so much.
When she had tried to remove it, she found that she coudln't! It was as though it was sticking to her skin! Or else it was the type of sweater that was like a Chinese finger trap. The more one pulled the tighter it became. But how else was she supposed to get the darn thing off?
As soon as she tried to tell her mother about her situation, she had barely squeaked out a "word" before immediately shutting her mouth again and running to her room. As soon as she had tried to say something, it came out in a musical tone. Not a voice-crack, but as though she would be singing.
Of course the sweater had to be cursed. Probably some Negaverse enchantment that was slowly draining her energy, and if she didn't get it off soon, she would be knocked out at the very least. She immediately texted her boyfriend to tell him what was going on and that their plans for the day would have to be cancelled. Not that they had much. They were just planning on looking around at the local indoor mall.
Jason understood however, and made sure to tell her to tell him if anything came up and she needed him for any reason to contact him by text.
For the rest of the day she tried to stay away from anyone else as much as possible, only giving tiny squeaks of acknowledgement every time someone tried to say something, and eventually texting her family that she had lost her voice. At least she would have a reason not to try to talk to anyone now since they did believe her.
That didn't make it any better though. The sweater refused to come off, and she even had to sleep in it! She refused to use her bed though, not wanting to curse it too. And the sweater stayed on, until the next day, 24 hours after she had first put it on. When she was finally able to remove the evil thing, she immediately took it to be burned, swearing that she woudln't wear another ugly sweater that was bought at some random merchant ever again, and would make sure to tell her mother that there were no ugly sweater parties for her in the future.
