Quote: On a cold winter night, when the moon is nearly full and bright in the sky, you hear laughter. At first, you can't place it, but then you feel little pokes and prods, tugs on your hair, your clothes. Sometimes you think you see something out of the corner of your eye--a small, icy body. Sometimes you hear wings flapping in the night. As long as you are out in the cold, you feel eyes on you and you find yourself the target of small mischief from what seems to be icy little fairies, though they move too fast for you to see or grab. They never speak, only laugh. When you go inside, or venture to anywhere with too much light or heat, they seem to disappear and do not bother you again.

Nereid loved the atmosphere of the evening. It was a full moon, on a cold brisk night. The white light, oddly comforting, even more then the sun reflected on a thin layer of snow on the ground making everything glitter and look like a winter wonderland.
She was happily bouncing in the white snow, letting her socked feet sink into the snow and then moving to another spot for it when she noticed different bigger footsteps.
And then she felt the aura of a white moon senshi like herself, and then she saw someone she enjoyed a lot.
"HERMEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS." The senshi bounded after the trickery senshi, literally almost tackling him in the snow.

How was it, that in all the places that Hermes tended to patrol, he was always found by the must ludicrous and ridiculous senshi of them all?
He was starting to believe, probably accurately, that he was never, ever going to shake her and might as well just accept the fact that Nereid was essentially stuck to his hip for who knew how long. Hermes had a split second to sigh in resignation before she careened into him, sending them both toppling over. Hermes let out a yelp of protest, arms flailing, and only just barely managed to right himself in time, steadying his hands on Nereid's shoulders.
"What," he said, "are you doing."
His eyes flickered downwards, catching sight of her nearly bare feet, Hermes' expression becoming one of outrage.
"Are you running around in socks?"

She was giggling as she hit the snow with him, rolling over and laughing at his clearly angry response. It was amusing to her that he was so serious all the time, but it seemed like he wasn't pushing her away anymore and that was good.
They were teammates after all! Partners! THEY WERE TIED IN DESTINY!!!
"I'm playing in the snow!" She laughed again as she shoved some at him. "They are sort of socks." she held up the slipper shoes that were part of her uniform. "Kind of hard to walk in these in snow, so I took them off. It's not like my feet are cold though." They stayed pretty warm with the magical uniform.
She reached over, just for fun and unlaced one lace before sitting up. "And how are you today Hermes? Did you slay any villains? Did you gain and EXP? Perhaps you found a dungeon with treasure for us to explore?"

He automatically slapped her hand away from his laces, but it was more a gesture of instinct than actual irritation because he'd long since given up on trying to stop her from undressing him. Hermes squinted down at Nereid's...well, not bare feet, but bare enough.
"You're going to catch a cold," he said pointedly. "And then you're going to be sick, and then I'm going to be sick, and then everything will be terrible, so would you please put some shoes on so we can both avoid being sick and both avoid looking gross?"
Her questions, as always, flummoxed him. Hermes gave Nereid another look.
"What villains? No, I haven't found anyone tonight, have you?"
Something prodded his shoulder. He reflexively swatted at it without conscious thought.

Nereid did it to be playful, and since he accepted such playfulness, slap of hands away didn't do much to her.
"We're gods remember?" reminding him of his own words, her toes wiggling in the socks. "Plus my shoes are sandals, so putting them on won't make much of a difference." She held them up again to remind him before humming happily.
"If I get sick, you should come take care of me! Bring me soup and hot chocolate! That's the best cure." She beamed at him and then laughed. "Villains! Enemies! The people we have to fight. Can't always fight the monster right?"
She felt something tug at her hair, and turned her head as her blue hair was pulled from her clip. "Oh, guess my clip wasn't holding up!" But it was followed by small laughter and she didn't think Hermes was the laughing type.

He did remember this, because, well. That damned beast had told him he was a god, and well, why not? Hermes was a direct reference to the most famous of mythology, after all; it made sense that he was a god with that sort of name, even if he was a reincarnated one.
"You're going to make yourself sick," Hermes reminded Nereid sternly, blue eyes bright in his otherwise pale face. "And why on earth would I be the one to take care of you? I don't even know who you are underneath all of..." He waved a hand at her senshi uniform as if to say this.
"I haven't yet found any villains yet tonight," Hermes said, then frowned as Nereid's clip slid from her hair, tumbling down in front of her. He reached out to pick it up instinctively, fingers closing around the tiny metal object, and felt something yank at his hair, dragging his head sideways.
"Nereid! Stop that!"

"You are very concerned about my well being!" Nereid rolled over in the snow towards the man. "How about you princess carry me then?" She giggled, imaging the stern trickery senshi just carrying her around.
"Do you want to know? I could power down right now!" She almost let the glamour fade for him before he was grabbing her clip.
She also saw his haired pulled, looking at the small fairies. It was fleeting but....
"Oh that was totally not me, I'm over here." She waved a hand on the opposite side of where his hair was pulled.
"I think we're being haunted by fairies." Her own hair started to rise like medusa, and she laughed. "Playful fairies."

He was trying hard not to be too concerned about the fact that she was staring at him meaningfully, especially because Hermes couldn't quite grasp why she was looking at him the way she was. He tilted his head, a frown tugging his lips downwards, and said flatly, "What good would it do to carry you around? I thought you were adept on your own, fighting villains and all that."
His icy exterior was only secondary to the cold around them. Hermes felt something snag on his head again and made a flapping gesture in the direction of it. Something gave a silvery giggle in his ear; something that was most definitely not Nereid, who was beaming brightly at him, in spite of their situation.
"What's going on?" he said, and then, when the answer faeries came, he gave her an incredulous look.
"Faeries don't exist in real life," Hermes informed her, and then gave a tiny yelp as one of his laces was yanked free, his hand flying up to grapple at the messy strands as a small, tiny something zipped past his face. He caught sight of - were those wings?
Maybe it was just snow. Clearly.
"Stop that."

"Because then my feet wouldn't be cold, would they?" She laughed at his sudden icy behavior. She never ever really was turned off by that kind of behavior.
She didn't seem to bothered by the fairies, but since Hermes seemed so distressed about it, she took his hand, tugging him to run.
"Gods didn't exist either until you were named." She whispered, eyes twinkling at him and then pulling him to run. "Come Hermes."
"Fly."

Why was she taking his hand. What was she doing.
He didn't understand her at all. Hermes was starting to think that maybe he shouldn't even really try, because he was extraordinarily confused every time he did. Like a math problem that was really just kind of irritatingly obtuse and deliberately hard to decipher.
"What are we doing?"

She was taking his hand because Hermes would sit there and let Fairies play with him and mess with him until they probably drove him crazy. She could still feel them around her, and even watched as one carried the clip that kept her hair in its neat bun disappear.
That was fine to be honest, Her gear never truly disappeared when she powered down or powered up, It just went back to normal like nothing happened.
Her gaze drew back to the taller blonde.
"We're flying remember?" She tugged and ran and laughed until she didn't feel fairies pulling at her hair or clothes. Her shoes remained in one hand, but she squeezed Hermes other.
"Do you feel them anymore?" She was slightly out of breath, flushed but eyes bright as she looked at him.
