On a cold winter night, when the moon is nearly full and bright in the sky, you hear laughter. At first, you can't place it, but then you feel little pokes and prods, tugs on your hair, your clothes. Sometimes you think you see something out of the corner of your eye--a small, icy body. Sometimes you hear wings flapping in the night. As long as you are out in the cold, you feel eyes on you and you find yourself the target of small mischief from what seems to be icy little fairies, though they move too fast for you to see or grab. They never speak, only laugh. When you go inside, or venture to anywhere with too much light or heat, they seem to disappear and do not bother you again.

It was late, but it was the weekend. Winter break was going on in full force, which meant her parents wouldn't think it too weird for her to be out right now. Though, they probably assumed she was inside warm somewhere. Not scouting around town, with a coat thrown over a fuku that barely kept her warm in the summer. At least there wasn't any snow on the ground outside right now, it made it slightly more bearable to walk around.

She was walking down side streets at the moment, it was late, there weren't that many people around. It was that time of night that chaos liked to act though, prey on those who put themselves at risk by walking around alone at this hour. It was people like them that she had to watch over. The moon was fairly bright in the sky though, even with few street lights in the area it was easy enough to avoid being caught completely off guard. Just as she was considering turning in for the night, she heard laughter. She quickly glanced behind, where she had come from. But there wasn't anyone there.

Maybe it was just noise from some television or radio somewhere. Just as she was bout to dismiss it she felt a tug at one of her pigtails. She instinctively swatted around her head, but even as she looked around there wasn't anything there. More laughter and suddenly she was very on edge. The only thing she did know was that it couldn't be anything chaos related. What was it about the Holidays that made things go bonkers around her? She could make sense of her being a Senshi and there being bad guys. She couldn't make sense of the randomness that happened around this time of year.

"Stop it, you pests." She didn't know what it was, but she knew she wasn't crazy. The word 'pests' must have annoyed whatever it was though, this time she thought she saw a glimpse of something very small, but it moved too fast for her to identify. "C'mon, i'm one of you. Look at this outfit!." The bells on her costume rung as whatever was around her twinkled them. They were getting more annoying by the second and standing here going nothing wasn't getting her anywhere.

"Fine, I'll leave!" Maybe she had stumbled into some little den that they were protecting. She felt another tug one her hair and while still in the alley way she powered down, returning to her civilian self before stepping onto the street with more light. They left her be after that and she sent a glare back into the darker alleyway. "You shouldn't bother people like that, it's rude." She heard some more laughter after that, but no more tugging or pushing. With a sigh and a mumbled she starting making her way back toward home. Annoying little things. At least she could be thankful that they weren't actually hurting anyone. Or else she hoped not. There wasn't much she could have done anyway. They were too small and fast for her to get rid of. Was it even her place to deal with something like that? No thank you.
