Being able to be anything other than looking like a cat had been uplifting and amazing for Arthur. More and more he tried to find any excuse to change into the man he somehow was, and more and more he tried to find anyone that could take him off the planet so he could stretch his newly changed limbs and experience himself as - as himself! The firm belief he was a cat that had been changed to a guardian was now something entirely. He was a Mauvian, but moreso, he was a MAN too. His body acted so differently, felt differently, and something shifted in him when he could change.
But it had been weeks since he could find anyone to take him someplace to shift which only left him able to stay inside the Mauvian HQ. But how could he experience things outside a small room if he was stuck?
The real risk was that despite his ability to change, it was a beacon of power despite him not actually being powerful. Still, as he stayed among the trees late one night, he considered one key point. It was only a risk to himself when he was alone. If he just changed a little tiny bit from time to time - maybe it wasn't so bad?
Looking about, he took a breath, and shifted. His height towered up, his back arched and went straight, and his front paws lifted and stretched out beside him to form hands. Now dressed, he brushed his barren palms against his clothes, his body, and then stared at his hands in the delighted awe that came with it. Smiling, he wrapped his arms quickly about his body and hugged himself.
THIS was wonderful.

You just didn't feel cats all that often. Which was sort of the point, really. They hid power, it was one of best perks they offered aside from the essential role they played in awakening senshi. But somehere close there was a cat, and not a corrupted one. Intrigued as to what could possibly coax a cat into human form, Xenotime set her sights in that direction. If she moved swiftly enough, utilized her teleporation, shecould close the distance between them faster than the cat could do much about it beside just reverting back to feline form. Which would be an easy enough escape, and frankly at that point the general's interest wavered. She was willing to see though, and in a matter of a moment she was closing in on him quickly.

It was startling to go from one moment of extreme happiness and peace to that of sudden panic and tension. Arthur had been touching a few leaves on a tree and then touched the bark of the trunk when he felt a Chaos signature snap into existence like a firecracker. His heart leapt right up into his throat as he spun about and around the area for what had happened. It had been so quick, so sudden, that his brain was having a hard time processing what the best course of action to take was. While he had legs and could walk, he had really only ran once and he still had a compulsion at times to arch his body to all fours - which was awkward as human legs and arms did not bend like a feline's body did. It really wasn't the quickest way to move, but there was some kind of strange allure in running on two legs. You could see more and he felt was treated more as something to recognize than thinking of being laughable as usually was the case when he was a feline in battle.
Not knowing what to do, he stepped behind a tree and crouched down, taking deep breathes. He just had to figure out which direction to go and then decide to go that way, but if he changed into a cat too quickly and didn't do this well, he could be grabbed more easy in a smaller form.
He decided to just wait.

It didn't feel like the cat was attempting to flee, and that to Xenotime was very interesting. They had to know she could feel them, could feel her getting closer, yet they weren't moving. The brave mind of a warrior perhaps, or an uneducated novice that'd somehow come into their own with no guidance? Impossible to tell without asking. So she would. "I can feel you there, little kitty." She showed as she closed in on the tree she felt them hiding behind. "Brave of you not to drop your human guise and run." Careful steps brought her around one side, boots quiet on the frosted grass. "Or foolish." The general smiled. "Haven't you ever heard the saying? Curiosity killed the cat?" Not that she had any intentions of killing him—it made much more sense to capture and corrupt him—but he didn't know that.

He startled when she rounded the tree and came into his line of sight. Turning about to face her, he brought his hands up in a universal sign of being unarmed and meaning no harm. Already his tail was seeking comfort between his legs as he took a few steps back and away from her.
"Ah....yes. I've heard that. B-but have you heard that Satisfaction brought it back?" He said, trying to work some conversation to diffuse whatever ideas the general might have.
"Hello. Hi there. So...so nice to meet you. I haven't met a general like you, like this, before?"

She'd never encountered a cat in their humanoid from either side of the way. They existed, she knew they did, but this meeting was a first for her, and her excitement for it gleamed in silvery eyes as she took him in from the tips of his ears to the toes of bare feet. "Remarkable." Then she was meeting his gaze again, lips tugging in a delighted smile at his recital of the second half of the rhyme. "Did it now?". He'd retreated a step but she closed the distance between them again, advancing slowly unhurried. "And have you found that sort of satisfaction in life, kitty cat? The sort that drags you back from death's open doors?" What did it take to darken a guardian cat's star? A aoverign's touch, no doubt. Strength enough to banish the light. "This is a first for the both of us, then."

She wouldn't give him an inch and he found that pressure of Chaos unnerving. He knew very well the dangers of proximity with Chaos as there wouldn't be as many Chaotic Mauvians otherwise.
The best bet was to keep her talking and away from so many unpleasant actions.
"Well the curse of that is that I'm a bit insatiable . Goes with the curiousity. And - well we haven't introduced ourselves. I'm Arthur. And you'd be?"
He attempted another step back.

As she came up parallel with the tree he'd been hiding behind she paused there to lean against it, arms folding loosely across her chest. He could continue backing up if he wanted, but following him was easy enough for someone like her. Especially if he remained in that form. He glowed like a beacon behind his eyes. "So without that satisfaction, how will you be coming back, kitty cat?" The name was noted, filed away to be added to the database for later. "I'm General Xenotime."

"Well, hopefully you'll be satisfied enough with your curiosity to grant me another life. I don't have 9. Would be nice to live past tonight." He said with a nervous chuckle.
"It's nice to meet you, Xenotime."
He was glad that she wasn't pressing into his space as much as before.
"I'm not a cat of course. I'm a Mauvian, please." He pointed out, wanting to separate himself from the Earth animal to who he actually originated from. "And since you've never met one then, I suppose we can talk a while, right? Learn a thing or two. Get to know each other."

Well wasn't he a spirited one? Xenotime's smile broadened, head tipping to the side to rest her temple against the trunk of the tree she was leaning against. "If you want to live I think you'll let me call you whatever I like, hmm?" Correcting her was either a mark of bravery or extreme foolishness, and she still wasn't sure which he was. "Though I think I've got something far less deadly in mind for you." They could always use more cats in the Negaverse. As their numbers expanded 5he additional tech support and growth was essential, and that was second to their role in awakening and strengthing the senshi under their allegience.

Arthur stared back with a slowly rising confusion and a subtle blush.
"Are you - hitting on me?"

Violet brows lifted, the smile cooling around the edges. "No. I'm talking about having a general-king thrust their fist into your chest to turn that pretty star on your forehead black." And now she was walking forward again, a hand lifting to touch a finger to his chest, chaos flaring. "Or maybe I could do it myself. I've always wanted to try."

He grabbed her wrist, tightly and with a pitch of fear. "Please. Do not do that. I'd be a lousy addition. Is there anything else you'd want?" He asked her.
"I don't want to fight you."

Pale eyes snapped down to his hand on her wrist before lifting again, and the smile she leveled up at him was absolute candied poison. "Any addition is a needed one. You're a guardian, you can cloak our aura's, make our tech," she chuckled, biting her lower lip. "You'd be a valuable addition." She didn't try to yank her hand free of him. Not because she couldn't, but because she didn't care to. "It's good you don't want to fight. You wouldn't win." Not bravado, but a promise. "Why not join with us? You'll like it."

"I don't do tech. I'm a librarian. I can barely work a phone." He pointed out, slowly removing the hand after seeing that look she gave him. Those were not the eyes of someone you wanted to make direct eye contact for very long and yet he knew looking away might really have him being corrupted at any point. The only card he had was the beam from his brow, and if he missed up on that, he really would find himself as a newer addition to the Negaverse.
Somehow, despite it all, he thought of Kainite. He could at least be with him but, then again, only as a cat most often. It would ruin what small sense of normality between them he was keeping.
There was also the matter of the senshi he knew, the hope to help them, and Nicholas he was tending to back at home. There was no real reason then to convert to the Negaverse not to mention there was something sinister about the organization even beyond the signature they all held.
"You could come to my side. I'd shower you with ample attention if you just purified." He said back, smiling best he could though it lacked real strength in the face of the clear threats she was making to his starseed.
"I think you have plenty of guardians in the Negaverse anyways. I've met plenty enough."
