Lieutenant Calomel…someone who didn’t seem to be very ambitious within the Negaverse…and who couldn’t quite leave it either due to her position as a teacher at Romano’s. Cavansite was in her office, going through the seemingly endless lists of lieutenants listed in the database, wondering which one she could use for this new…project of hers.

Of course it was still in its early planning stages so there still wasn’t anything quite…solidified and she hadn’t yet gotten permission from Axinite for what she wasn’t to do, though she knew it wasn’t against the rules. Deliberately pushing someone into becoming a half youma…wasn’t against any rules…

Or so she thought. But Cinnibar had been…

Her head ached with the thought of Cinnabar and she quietly rubbed at her temples for a moment before sighing and standing up.

She would go to Romano’s. School would be out soon, and she could meet this Sybil Jallaford and invite her to join her team. The very least that would happen would be that this seemingly useless lieutenant would be given tasks to complete and would be able to move ahead in the organization.
It was the least she could do.

With hardly a thought, the General teleported from her office and into the grounds of Romano’s, quickly shedding her powered form and walking into the large building, slightly amused.

It had been such an amazing plan, opening this school…and if she hadn’t already had her place of employment…she would have transferred though…
Honestly she felt she was better placed back at Crystal.

Finally she found the room she was looking for. Military History. As Karone’s eyes lit upon the grey haired teacher, she smiled. “Sybil. It’s so very nice to meet you. You don’t know me, but I’m Karone Perkins. I was just reading up on you, and I think, perhaps…you might enjoy being a part of my team.” Her voice was sweet, and as inviting as she could make it.

Had it already been more than two years since Sybil had taken this job as a teacher here at Romano's, and the other nightly work that came with it? Everything was hazy in a way, like her life had paused and kinda stagnated since then.

Not that she minded, honestly. The work was good, her boss or whatever barely paid attention to her, and she was fine as long as students were taught and quotas were met. It was more than enough for her, and yes, while some of the teachers seemed to advance more quickly than she did, what did she care? Her bills were paid, her home was cozy, and she was content in that, as long as her students were safe.

And so far... Safe was subjective, but atleast she could protect them while they remained in the school.

Tonight, however, there was no one left to protect except herself as she graded paper after hastily written paper her students had left before all their attention turned onto the upcoming holidays. It was garbage, all of it was. It was like everything she said the past week had gone in one kids ear and then straight out the other, but how could she blame them when she was honestly thinking the same thing.

The last 'X' was placed on the bottom line of a question left blank, and that sigh of relief was allowed to escape from her lips. FINALLY, she was finished, and finally, she could go home. Sure, some teachers took their grading with them, but she had a strict 'no work at home' policy.

Unfortunately, it seemed that her day wasn't quite ready to end yet as someone she didn't recognize went right into her little classroom without a second thought. How awful...

"You're right, I don't know you. So what makes you think I'd want to be part of your team?" Her words were blunt, the tiredness of the day clear in her voice. Part of her didn't even want to look up from her papers, but she did. If this one came in talking about a 'team' then it was likely someone stronger than she was, and... Well, let's just say she knew how blood thirsty some of these people could get.

"It's not as flattering as you think saying you've been reading up on me. I have no need for a team at this time, I'm doing just fine on my own."

Karone’s brows shot up, but a smile curled on her lips. Okay. So perhaps this woman wouldn’t be as easy to sway as she had hoped…but still. She had to realize that she didn’t quite have much of a choice in this.

None of them did.

“All right then. How about going to dinner with me. My treat. I’m a teacher too, over at Crystal though. I teach English.” She sighed and rolled her eyes. “Are your kids getting as crazy as my girls are with the holidays coming up? It’s so hard to get them to sit still let alone actually do their work. And of course the girls are always thinking that they’re above work because.” She screwed up her face and adopted a false prissy English tone. “Daddy has such a large trust fund that I won’t need to ever work!”

Karone snorted and rubbed the bridge of her nose. “They’re ridiculous.”

Without a second thought, Karone grabbed one of the chairs that sat against the wall and moved it in front of Sybil’s desk. “What do you say, Chickadee? Let’s go for drinks. I’d say that we both deserve it. And if it wasn’t flattering for me to say I looked you up, well, I do apologize. I just thought we seemed like we were a lot alike and I thought you’d be a good addition.”

"Dinner, with you? Ma'am, you come into my office after school has ended, without further information about how or why you're here besides stating that you were 'reading up on' me, and you expect me to be completely civil? You are a certainly a strange one." Sybil neatly stacked her papers between her hands, tapping them a few times against the desk before slipping them into a binder nearby. Whoever this 'Karone' woman was, she was not leaving the best of impressions.

Was she a stalker? Sybil had never had a stalker before, but knew more than enough to break a finger or two on a normal human.

Given where they were, the Negaverse's own school, it was a safer bet that she was just some bored Captain or something who may have lost a Lieutenant or two and needed to build up her team some more. How awful.

A small smile did reach her lips as she put away her work at the thought of the bratty little Crystal girls. More than a few of them could use a few dozen laps around the school grounds, that was for certain. Atleast there was some truth in this stranger's words about students being little shits these days, for lack of a more proper words. And a drink did sound nice...

"As long as you don't keep spewing nonsense about me joining your team, I suppose dinner and a drink wouldn't hurt. Do you have a location in mind? I'd rather meet you there than go with you, given the whole... Stalker vibe you're giving off right now."

Karone couldn’t stop another amused smile from reaching her own face. It was almost amusing how this lieutenant thought she could act all tough and could have the audacity to call her a stalker of all things. Though, she supposed that this might be considered some sort of stalking…even though she was more than well within her rights to decide to mentor a wayward lieutenant.

Someone should, after all.

If people were left alone for too long, they could stray, and Karone would be damned before she let anyone else purify to the bloody white moon.

“I’m not stalking you, I’m trying to help you, lieutenant.” Her words were quiet, and while they were still friendly, it was clear that she meant business now. “I think you and I should go together, and I think after we should make a date to go out and patrol together. I was looking up on you, Calomel and you haven’t done much, and I want to help you thrive within this organization.”

She held out a hand to the woman and watched her with a new warmth in her eyes. “I am General Cavansite, and I want to help you become the agent I know you can be. You were brought into the Negaverse for a reason, after all. And I don’t think it was just because you applied for this job.”

Despite the friendly tone and smile Karone showed, every word felt like a threat. She knew so much about Sybil... Her Rank, her Powered Name... While they weren't exactly hidden within the Negaverse's databases, it made the hair on the back of her neck bristle at the very thought this woman really had gone out of her way to track her down.

And she was right, Calomel truly hadn't done much since she was corrupted years ago. What was the point in doing so? She didn't crave power, nor did she want any further responsibilities than what she had already, which was caring for a bunch of ******** brats who seemed honestly perfectly well-suited to join their ranks one day, what with their attitudes.

Aaand there it was. This woman was a General, a poking and prodding one that quite frankly had already annoyed Calomel, but even she knew that it wasn't so easy to just walk away from someone like her. Cavansite had power, there was no denying that, and if she truly wanted to, she could easily just rip out Sybil's starseed and end it there.

Sybil didn't really feel like dying today.

"For a reason? I am nearly 99% certain that yes, I was brought into the Negaverse just because it was a job requirement. Didn't you know the recruitment process to work here? It was join and teach and make money, or die, essentially. I don't think there truly was any more purpose than that, and my current supervisor certainly doesn't really think so either, given the fact that he just makes sure I hit my quotas weekly and that my students aren't blatantly failing." The offered hand was ignored for a moment as she made to finish packing up her things. Once that was finished, she hoisted her bag to her shoulder and walked from behind her desk to where the other woman stood.

"I've spent all day working with students, I need a shower, then a drink. How about you come by and pick me up from my house instead in about two hours? I'm certain you know that information, don't you?"

She gave a soft laugh, and seemed almost a little disappointed but stood up from where she was sitting, dragging the chair back against the wall. “Very well, Lieutenant. I will pick you up in two hours. Dress nicely, all right? You and me will have a grand time, I’m sure of it.”

There was no reason they couldn’t be friends after all.

For now.

Karone walked towards the door and placed her hand on the gray haired woman’s shoulder, giving it a friendly squeeze. “Not to worry, Sybil.” She said softly, her voice surprisingly gentle. “I don’t bite, I promise you. We’ll have a good time tonight, and we’ll work to get you a much, much brighter future.”

After all…when one was a part of such an organization as the Negaverse was…wasn’t giving everything to them the brightest future that one could have? Besides…if all went as planned… Sybil Jallaford would become stronger than she had ever dreamed of. And it would all be due to her.

The smile that crossed her face was utterly genuine.

“I shall see you soon. Two hours, I’ll be there.”

Dress nicely? What, did this woman think she was going for a job interview? Or a date? The every idea that this woman was telling her to do anything at all made Sybil's skin crawl..

And yet she just couldn't refuse, could she?

"Of course, of course.. I'm sure we'll have a good time." That hand on her shoulder felt as if it were burning, and she simply moved away from it, heading out of her classroom.

She did offer a passing glance to the woman, before turning her head and walking out the door, flipping the light off while the woman was still in there.

"Don't be late. One minute off and the night's canceled."
