Thanksgiving was over but that brought the challenges of Christmas that much closer. One might ask just what did the young blond have to worry over when it came to the holiday, for the last few years she had traveled with her family to England, she was well treated, well fed, well loved… she had everything. And yet she felt anxiety as the calendar slowly slipped from November to December and this year was worse. Her college finals were just around the corner and it just made everything all that much harder. <******** hell,” Antares muttered as she stomped across the empty rooftop. She needed to stop bitching since really, what was there to b***h about? Other then her outfit of course, but even that was dealt with by simply dressing warmly in a sweatshirt and sweatpants. They were a little bunchy where her skirt was but it was better than running around in her skimpy outfit, that's for damn sure. She was out to patrol not moan about her life! With that thought in mind she started to traverse the building roofs, looking for trouble. She might have been focusing on patrolling but what she wanted to do was punch something, something that was more of a challenge then a punching bag. Something that hit back. It wasn’t the healthiest solution for her tumultuous feelings but it kept her from running from them. That was one of the few things she promised her family… she wouldn’t run away again.

Not even if the little voice in the back of her head told her that she didn’t belong and would always be trailer trash. Her father’s daughter. Nothing more.

Just trash.

This time of year was markedly Leucite's favorite time of year. Now that he was married it was even more so. Gifts were not an issue - he knew his wife well enough that a new camping kit or a trip to a nice place she'd never been to would be more than enough. It wasn't like they'd ever really officially taken off for a honeymoon or anything - though Colorado had been nice. The calm tranquility of the mountains - getting away from everything, returning to nature.

The only thing that would have made the season better was a consistent, solid, snow. But, given the way weather patterns had been lately, he wasn't about to get his hopes up.

An order aura caught his attention, and he turned to face it, teleporting across the rooftops to bring himself into cold relief against the night air to it's rear. He wanted it to turn around and face him, or provide him a merry chase. Most of the time they ran - but he'd love a chance to convert someone. Twas the season for conversion after all...

For the moment she was blissfully alone, or not so blissfully since her own thoughts were plaguing her, but she was still alone and contemplating the best way to get off the roof she was currently stuck on. Somehow she had ran herself into a dead end when it came to roof hopping; one side was a parking lot several stories down, the other side was a building several stories higher than where she was, wide road on the front so that just left the roof she had just jumped down from to get where she was now. Yeah it was possible to just backtrack, even survivable if she jumped to the parking lot. Her strength might get her across the street, it was unlikely she would aim right for the taller building, but all of them required some skill and more then a little bit of danger. It was better to take the fire escape like a normal human… if it didn’t look like it would crumble to rust at the first sign of weight on it that is. That really only left backtracking, much to her annoyance.

From that silent contemplation her thoughts skidded to a halt by the sudden appearance of a negaverser behind her. Bloody teleportation skill, she mentally cursed even as she turned around to face the general who decided to crash her pity party and promptly cursed out loud. “For ******** sake! You,” her voice dripped venom when she saw that it was the a*****e general that she had run into several times in the past. The last time they faced each other was when he was offering her her father’s starseed.

Should she had taken him up on it? She had been standing in front of him bloody, battered, and had more than a few broken bones but she still should have taken the offered seed right? Her father deserved to die, he was a horrible man who had just beaten her, threatened her family, and spent the first thirteen years of her life tormenting her. But was it really her choice? She wished him dead… and he fulfilled that wish in front of her face. And then he offered her the chance to bring him back, to keep the negaverse officer from playing god as it were. An argument they had had before. If Shang hadn’t been there… Antares still didn’t know what she would have said. Would she had taken him up on the offer? Would she end up walking away like she did if Shang hadn’t been there? Was she no better then the officer standing in front of her?

Those questions still haunted her from time to time. Maybe she would be able to face them right now… that or just punch him in the face. That was always a good option. “What the hell do you want?” Weary hostility was a step up from just attacking right? She might be a super senshi but he was still a General, one who has kicked her a** a few times in the past.

Oh the wonders never ceased did they? He had not been out hunting this particular quarry, but he was not unhappy to see it. Normally he would have summoned his weapon at this point to lean on as an intimidation tactic - but that wasn't needed for this senshi. Besides, he had no intention of killing her if he could help it. There was so much darkness and rage inside of her - it was really just a matter of nudging her in the right directions to make the choice to jump herself.

It might take time - and maybe it would be futile - but as long as Leucite saw that darkness in her - that cultivatable anger and defiance - he would pick at it like a wolf harrying a wounded doe. So he stood there, bowing his head to her in a small, polite greeting of a better greeting someone below their station but with mutual respect.

"I was out hunting, imagine my surprise when my quarry turned out to be you," He said in a calm voice. "I see your wounds have healed. That is good. My apologies again for not being there to prevent them in the first place. Would you like to know the fate of that man's soul?"

He made no aggressive actions, but stood there, watching her with a wry smile. "Oh, and delightful idea on your outfit there. Were it not for your aura I would be hard pressed to guess you were even a senshi. You might want to add a hoodie to the ensemble though - it might help... layers and all."

Glacially blue eyes narrowed at the calm figure in front of her, she didn’t trust it at all in any shape or form. He was the snake in the Garden, the whispers in the night, the darkness that lurked in the background. Hunting was accurate when it came to him but being referred to as quarry had a chill race up her spine, even when he apparently showed concern for her previous injuries. To cover her own misgivings the blonde scoffed and sneered at the General, “Bullshit, you probably wished that the knight hadn’t showed up just so you could finish what the b*****d started.” She swallowed anxiously but continued to act uncaringly, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. “He’s dead, does it really matter?”

The general might have actually killed him but after all, it had been her choice to walk away, knowing what would happen to him. She could have saved him. She could have stopped Shang and retrieved the offered starseed. He died beaten, bloody, and in trash. His literal soul ripped from his body. He might not have survived the night either way… from his injuries or anyone finding him after since it had occurred in a rather sketchy part of town.

“And again, we are back to ‘Like you give a s**t.” She really wished he would do something, anything other than talk since she would rather fight than chat with the a*****e. Antares didn’t trust his ‘pleasant’ chatting personality. He wanted something and unfortunately she knew what he wanted… her. Dead or alive. There was not a force powerful enough in the entire universe that would convince her to fall to the depths of chaos so that left the second best thing, her starseed. Besides, he kind of had a point. A hoodie would add more layers to help with the cold. Though for now she was chilled but not cold, only her feet were cold and there wasn’t much she could do since she was kind of stuck with the golden heels unless she took way too long to switch them out with real shoes. Him having a valid point just annoyed her even further.

“Can we just move on to the next part of the script Darth Vader? You know, ‘Join me, and together, we can rule the galaxy,’ yada, yada so I can tell you to go ******** yourself. That will be the highlight of my night. I do so enjoy that.” She quipped, tense even as she did her best to projected confidence. She wasn't a basic senshi any more, but she still was facing a general. Caution was needed.

The General tossed his head back in a laugh - a genuine, real laugh, that took a moment to subside.

"Darth Vader?!" He snorted out as the laughter started to die off. "Oh, please, you give me far too much credit. I would need far much more reverb for that to even be something I could functionally pull off." He wiped at his eyes, brushing away tears of mirth as he let the laughter fade into the darkness of the chilly evening.

"Well since you seem to not care - I fed him to my hound," Leucite said bluntly. "May the world never see his like again."

"Your levels of spunk, vinegar, and overall moxie are as high as ever I see," He said with a slight sardonic grin. "Honestly, your skills are wasted on your current side of the street. You'd be so much better served on my side. Didn't you hear? We have cookies."

His laughter was even more creepy then his pleasant demeanor, it had her edging a bit closer towards the rusted fire escape. It might not hold for a headlong dive down the ancient metal but it would at least slow her decent some if the need for a hasty escape was necessary. The knowledge that he literally made her father’s soul into dog crap didn’t do anything more then make her smother the childish snicker that wanted to escape. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction in knowing she got any pleasure in her father’s death.

“Oh goodie, add some baking soda and I’m a freaking science fair volcano. Yippee,” her own deadpan response was helped with a eye roll and crossed arms. “Hell will freeze over before I even think of shifting my loyalties, cookies or no,” She mocked him with the cookie comment and then added more, “Besides its the Dork side not Darkside… and your a a*****e not a Dork. Your just insulting dorks now. So I said it once and I’ll say it again…” She stuck up her middle finger and grinned, enunciating each word, “Go. ********. Yourself. And the horse you rode in on.”

The General gave a small shrug and a sigh as he watched her act of defiance. "I suppose you'd think that way," He said his voice not at all masking his disappointment in her rebuke of his offer. "What with the lies I'm sure the White Moon are feeding you, though each of them is probably subtly different I'm sure."

He vanished from his place in front of her, before his presence came once more into being behind her, his hand reaching around to grip her neck, fingers tightening around her throat lightly as he lifted her head upward, his body shifted to avoid a retaliatory blow to the groin that he knew her kind tended to favor while fighting him.

"But we have power, power to change things for the better," He said, his voice low. "We have organization, and structure, and the ability to make actual change for the better. Don't you want to make a world where no one else suffers what you did?" He asked. "Surely there are others like you out there - who have suffered. Don't you wish to free them from that suffering?"

Antares snorted and was about to make a comment when he teleported behind her. She had honestly expected something like that but unlike the first time he had done the move, this time he just grabbed her by the throat. It was a surprisingly soft hold but she could still feel the gold choker, in addition to the wide necklace, she now sported as a Super Senshi press into her skin. Even if he wasn’t applying any real pressure it still proved a point, that he could end her life just as easily as he did her father, but unlike that time she won't let this stand. Stretching her arm over her shoulder she gripped his wrist, not adding any real pressure, at least not yet, and growled. “Life isn’t easy. You can’t just make people obey without someone fighting back. We aren't ******** sheep! Your repeating history at this point. Does World War Two ring any bells? Or I guess it would be closer to the Cold War technically.”

With her opinion voiced she did three things damn near simultaneously. She dug her short nails into the tender space between the bones in the General’s wrist, digging for the nerves that sit there and typically caused the recipient to loosen their grip on things as the blood to the hand was partially cut off. As she drove her nail into the skin of his gripping hand Antares muttered the triggering words to her second attack, “Scorpion Swarm.” Even as the ghostly scorpions materialized the senshi twisted and ducked away, yanking at his hand so she was free of his hold.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Scorpion Swarm

When the attack is called out three ghostly scorpions around the size of a ferret appears and advances upon the attended target. The scorpions can be touched, swatted, hit, and stepped on but it is not recommended since they are able to sting through clothes and armor alike. When one stings, it's target they lose all feeling in that particular limb... as if their limb is still asleep and has yet to wake up. They can still use it but they can't feel it at all. This affect lasts 30 seconds, any residual effects are up to the target if there is any at all.

The scorpions can be dodged and after 7 feet they disappear and they can only manifest for 30 seconds at a time. They do not travel in a straight line, rather they will head to anything moving so it could be tricked. The length of the scorpion and the length of the effects of the attack are separate, if you are stung in the beginning you have just as long as someone stung right before the scorpion disappears.

This attack can be used up to a maximum of three times in a battle. When the nine scorpions have been used no more can manifest until later. Using all available scorpions drains Antares severely.
