 Silverstreak always tried her best for her family. Well, she hadn't always, but she certainly did now. Now that their parents were gone, now that they were all starving, despite the fact that Silverstreak would give any of her food to her sisters, and now that they had left MountainClan's camp.
She was trying so hard to make sure that everything would go well and that her family would stay alive, and now with Sunseer laying at her paws, she felt the pressure become more significant. She stared at their dead leader. Last night as she was falling asleep, she had been certain that he and Skysong would lead them to their new camp, towards a better future. But now, the calico lay cold on the ground and Skysong had left them, leaving Duskwing in charge until her return.
She had said that she would go bury Sunseer with Bloodoath, but she accepted that her Clanmates wanted to say their goodbyes. So, she silently said her farewell to the now former MountainClan leader, before slinking off to the sidelines. Her chest heaved and she wasn't sure if it was an upcoming hairball or a nervous breakdown. Retreating towards a patch of secluded shade, she sat down and closed her eyes.
Keep it together, Silverstreak. She thought. You're better than this. Calm down and go see if your sisters are alright. They come first. You know that. She told herself, trying to keep her coat smooth, despite the desire to bristle away her worries and tear up the earth into her claws. She had prayed to SunClan for moons that they wouldn't take her or any of her remaining family to them, but that didn't mean she wanted to lose any of her other Clanmates either, especially not Sunseer!

 The clan was falling to pieces around her. Their leader was gone... now what?! Now Skysong was going to be leader?! She looked to her sister who was put in charge. Why duskwing?! She glanced over the older cats, looking to deadeye especially. Was Skysong thinking of duskwing for deputy.... Dawnbreak was happy for Duskwing but her breathe caught in her chest... They were barely adults right?! If duskwing would already be the deputy... what was she doing with her life?!
Her eyes went to Splitnose who she had pressed into being something of a beau... They had made no promises to each other.... How was she to be certain of her life here? She glanced to Silverstreak as she headed off and she stood to follow. She didnt stop for greeting, she just pressed herself to her sister. She needed as much comfort as she was sure Silverstreak needed.
"Silverstreak.... What are we gonna do?" She spotted Bloodoath waiting for the clan to dissipate. She pinned her ears licking silverstreak's ear in frustrated uncertainty. She paused mid lick. "Have you been eating?! If... If sunseer would succumb to hunger.... I dont want to lose you or... the others..." She purred worriedly and then seemed to calm herself. "You have been so strong for all of us... " She pressed her nose to her sister and purred. "Silverstreak... There needs to be more to life than just survival... right!?"

Silverstreak stiffened slightly at the touch of another. Dawnbreak's frantic mew about what they were going to do next both strengthened Silverstreak's resolved and made her feel all the more weary. Taking a deep breath, she blinked once and then turned to her sister with a tired smile, nuzzling her cheek and hoisting up a purr.
"It's... It's going to be difficult, that's for certain. Thinks are going to seem all the more scary for a little bit. We don't know what lies ahead, but we have a goal to reach now. SunClan is still on our side and they will help lead us to our new territory. We just have to have faith and them and in each other." She told her younger sister, wrapping her tail around Dawnbreak's and leaning against her slightly. "I'm not going anywhere. If SunClan tries to take me, I'll tell them to take a walk somewhere else. You, Duskwing and Stormsong still need me and I'm planning on watching over you lot until I'm the oldest elder out of all of MountainClan." She purred at the thought of her being old and frail. As an apprentice, she ran from the idea of getting old, but now, it seemed more and more appealing.
"There is more to survival, Dawnbreak, but it's a luxury that many don't think of just now, when survival is so important. If our parents were able to enjoy their lives initially, being born and having fun as apprentices, eating whenever the need struck and falling in love, I'm sure these things will become more available to us as well, once we reach the territory SunClan has seen for us." She mewed and her gaze darkened slightly.
"I will do everything in my power to see that we all get to that territory, whatever needs to be done. There may be more struggle, especially with Sunseer gone, but we'll get there. You know why?" She mewed, her gaze lightening again. "It's because we are lucky enough to still have each other. We have the luxury of family that some of our Clanmates do not. I know that if I need help, I can lean on you." She leaned on her sister to help prove her point and smiled. "And I hope you know that you can lean on me too, with whatever you might need." She added, stretching forward to lick Dawnbreak's ears. "So... to answer your question, we will survive for the time being and when we get to our new territory, which will be laden with prey, I'm sure, we're all going to hunt together and be the best of who we can be from then on. Sound alright?"
