Nis would have preferred to be visiting her Wonder, but she knew that she also needed to to more than go into space to be an effective knight. And that, unfortunately, meant patrolling. Though, honestly, she wasn't at all sure how she was supposed to fight the forces of evil if she ever found them.

Summoning her "weapon", she gave a snort of a laugh and gently whipped the sprig of honeysuckle through the chilly air.

"Oh yes, very threatening, I'm sure," she murmured before allowing the honeysuckle to vanish back into whatever ether it had come from. She still hadn't figured out exactly how she was supposed to fight in heels and a gown, but maybe she'd figure it out when she needed the information. Yes. Sure. Right. And whatever creep she'd end up fighting would be a total gentleman and let her have the time to sort s**t out.

"God, I should have just gone up into space tonight instead of this," she growled.

Sinistra had not yet been brave enough to try a visit to her own planet. She really wanted to, not knowing what could possibly be up there for her despite all the book research she did on her name and the space objects associated with it. She was just... not a brave sort. She just needed a more solid foundation before she took the risk.

Yes, she knew how to use her phone to get her there, and she had even visited someone else's homeworld with them. It was incredible, but hers would be entirely different, wouldn't it? Or were they similar? Maybe she just needed to go to more planets and other places before she tried going to hers, just so she felt like she had more of a fact pool to draw conclusions from.

More than three, that was the very basic rule of conducting a test, wasn't it?

Sighing, knowing she was just justifying being a weirdo coward, she felt another aura in the area and hesitated. Not a senshi, from what she could tell, but close by. She decided to go and say hello, needing to be more open and talkative with others in the white moon, anyway. She had already resolved to not be the kid silently studying in the back of the room any more, she just had to work a little harder at... doing that.

"Instead of what?" she asked quietly, having caught the end of the knight's grumble. "Uhm. Not to eavesdrop... I'm sorry."

Squeaking softly, Nis jumped and turned to see who'd just spoken to her.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, I didn't even realize you were there!"

She smiled uncertainty whilst mentally berating herself for being so far up her own a** that she hadn't been paying attention to auras. This girl was one of the good guys, but what if she hadn't been? Whoops! Goodbye starseed!

Recovering her poise, Nis' smile widened as she gave something of an apologetic shrug.

"Rather than patrolling. I'm sort of... useless in this getup," she said frankly, sweeping an arm to emcompass her clothing. "I mean, I know the most basic of self defense stuff, but if I needed to fight, I don't really think I can. I'm a lot better suited to just cleaning up my Wonder and rooting around for interesting things."

Realizing that she was nattering to a stranger, Nis shook her head slightly before sticking out a friendly hand.

"Good grief, where the hell are my manners tonight. I'm Nis, Page of Cosmos."

Sinistra smiled sheepishly, but she supposed she understood the sentiment a little too well. She was a very quiet person, and it had been her goal in school, and in a lot of other areas of her life, to be left quietly and peacefully in a corner. It was not unusual for people to not notice her, but it was not really an offensive thing.

She was working on coming out of that shell, but it was a long process.

Sinistra nodded her head, looking apologetic though she was not the one that designed their fukus and uniforms. Her own was practical enough, though she sometimes wondered about the significance of a senshi of brooms. Did brooms really need a champion of any kind? It wasn't much of a title, she supposed, but then again, she wasn't much of a senshi.

Blushing, Sinistra carefully took Nis's hand and gave it a quick, courteous shake before withdrawing sheepishly. Social interactions were not her strong suit.

"Sailor Sinistra, of Brooms. It's very nice to meet you, Nis. Your Wonder is a lot like our planets, right? You can visit them, like we can... that must be really cool. What are you cleaning up there? If... if you don't mind my asking. I don't mean to pry, it's just very interesting and I'm still learning how all this space travel works. Uhm. Sorry..."

Stop babbling, Sin, she chided herself silently.

Smiling reassuringly, Nis sized Sinistra up quickly. Shy. Judging by the body language, not super comfortable in her senshi get-up. Possibly not comfortable out of it, either. Still, her aura was stronger than Nis' own. So the girl had to be doing something right to make it this far.

Coming to a rapid decision, Nis stepped to the side, waving a hand to indicate Sinistra should come with her. At the moment, she just wanted to put the senshi at ease.

"It's lovely to meet you too," she said brightly. "But if you're going to be gracious enough to let me ramble about my Wonder, we should do it in comfort. There's a bench just over here out of the wind."

As she made her way over and settled, her face turned serious as she tilted her head to give the senshi a stern look.

"And don't you ever dare apologize for seeking knowledge again. You're not prying. Space stuff is scary if you haven't done a lot of it. Now," she continued, all sunny brightness again, "what would you like me to talk about first? If you've a question that I don't know that answer to or the answer is private, I'll let you know and we'll move on from there. Fair?"

Blushing furiously, Sinistra nodded her head and followed after the Page. She was not sure what made her more nervous: talking to someone who seemed as nice and who was clearly as competent as Nis, or actually having to ask questions. Just being in someone else's company was hard enough, most of the time, but someone like this...

She was just going to have to get used to feeling like a flurry of butterflies had moved into her stomach.

Once the two were seated, Sinistra drew a deep breath to calm herself. She hated that she got so worked up over something as simple as a conversation, but she was desperately interested in learning more about Homeworlds and planets and Wonders and all the rest.

"Oh, o-of course," she eeped, when Nis told her not to apologize. "S-s...uh... oh. Uhm. I..." at a loss, she simply stopped talking and stared at Nis, nodding her head and waiting for a long moment before she tried to speak again. Had to chase off all the apologies that were still on the tip of her tongue.

"Well, I haven't been to mine yet. I'm worried that it might not be... uh. I was just curious about how others find their planets and homeworlds, when they visit. Are they nice? Or... sad? I... I worry that there might not be anything on mine. But I'm... well, to be perfectly and embarrassingly honest, I'm too scared to look."

Smiling a little at the swallowed down apology, Nis was careful to smooth out her dress as she carefully made sure to not draw too much attention to Sinistra's discomfort. Poor thing was in a state and she refused to do anything to make it worse. Instead, she stared up at the sky, wondering where her own Wonder was. Strange to think she'd been somewhere but had no idea where exactly it was located.

She dragged herself back to the here and now with a tiny jump of startlement. This senshi had never been to her own planet? And she was a, whatdidtheycallit... Super? That seemed highly unusual. And a little worrisome.

It was more than time for some bolstering.

"Well, if you're worried about being able to breathe up there, I can promise there's air. I think that was my main worry the first time. I love my wonder. Even millenia dead it is beautiful and it's the home to part of my soul. I've even been taking some stuff up with me when I go to help brighten the place and clean it up a little," Nis paused and winked before turning her eyes from the stars above to her companion.

"It's going to be sad on some level because your homeworld has been dead a long time. It will feel still and lonely and maybe a little creepy, but it's still yours."

Nis paused again, running her fingers through her hair and wondering if she was somehow screwing this up. It was a pity she wasn't strong enough to bring other people up to her Wonder yet. She thought the senshi might enjoy the gentle stillness of her little island in space.

"There are memories there too," she added, voice dreamy. "Never a lot and never as clear as I would like. But I'll go up and something will trigger little bright flashes of memory."

Sinistra had been a little worried about breathing, as she had the sneaky suspicion her planet must have dust everywhere. Why else would she be the senshi of brooms? It was one of the silliest domains she'd run across, so far, though she tried to take it in stride and be proud of who she was and the powers she was given. After all, she could have just not been a senshi of anything.

That was a lot worse than Brooms, to be certain.

"You can take things? Oh, that's a brilliant idea! I love that you're cleaning it and making it more of a home! I wonder if other senshi do the same thing? I know Camelot says he's been rebuilding his castle over the years, though I can't imagine my planet having anything like that." She smiled, blushing, as her excitement always beat her brain when it came to things that excited her. She couldn't keep her thoughts to herself.

"Memories? That does sound sad... memories from the... the dead...?" She didn't understand, but she found herself more curious about it than scared right now. Maybe she just needed to take someone with her when she went, so she didn't talk herself out of it. Once she got in her own head too much, she got too scared.

"But you said you love your homeworld, even if it's sad. That's good to know. It must be a very lovely place."

Chuckling quietly, Nis reached out to give the senshi a gentle shoulder nudge.

"But how will you know if you never go? Having a castle sounds super posh to me. I just have a forest, or what's left of one, and a lake with some caves. Of course, I haven't tried to really explore beyond those."

Not that she'd wanted to go beyond those places. But maybe she should take her own advice and branch out a bit more.

Pulled back to the here and now, Nis shook her head, trying to find the words to explain.

"I don't think they come from dead people. Well, okay. Maybe technically since some of us are supposed to be direct reincarnations of past knights. Which would mean dying at some point, right?" Nis huffed softly, knowing that she was just going to end up confusing the both of them. She simply didn't know enough about how this starseed stuff worked.

Which was pretty shameful for a Cosmos knight.

"I think this Camelot of yours could explain it better. But look, from what I can tell, all senshi are direct reincarnations. So any memories would be yours. Just... a slightly different you. You're just like Shirley McClain insisting she used to be Cleopatra. Only real and not completely batshit."

Flashing a grin Nis fidgeted to make herself more comfortable.

"I think it must've even prettier when it was alive. But it's home to a part of my soul and calls out to it. I know it sounds crazy, but I don't know how else to describe it. It's why I think you should go to yours. Even if you only do it once. That piece of your soul deserves to have that feeling, even if it's only once."

Sinistra looked at Nis bashfully, thinking things over. She supposed her fears did not make any sense, but she could not help herself. Maybe it was because it was something so big, far bigger than anything she had ever been involved in before. What if she ruined something? Or wasn't good enough for it? Maybe it wasn't her being scared that nothing would be there, but the opposite.

"Shirley...?"

Sinistra was a master at not getting most references if they came from popular culture like television, movies, or video games. Books she was pretty good with, but even then she found herself floundering to recall details fast enough to make witty references and jokes to. Facts and figures were different, and definitely not as entertaining in a conversation setting. That one she knew all too well.

"Well... the way you speak about it, it does make me want to go... you're right. Even if it's not what I think it might be, or it is, or whatever. Good or bad, I should go, right? We were given these powers, it would be a shame to ignore a part of what makes them... right? Right. That's what you just said. Yes. Okay. Okay. ... Okay, I'll go. Uhm. Some time."

She faltered, turning red again and dropping her eyes down to her lap despite turning to look more directly at Nis. She wanted to thank the other sincerely, but the idea of eye contact sent her withdrawing a bit.

"Thank you for the pep talk... it help a lot, knowing a little more about all of this."

Momentarily waving aside the girl's confusion with the realization that knowing about Shirley McClain made her officially Old™, Nis practically beamed encouragement. Whether or not Sinistra went, it had to be her choice. But Nis didn't want that choice to be made by a fear of the unknown.

Moving carefully, she looped an arm around the senshi's shoulders and gave her a half-hug.

"Sounds about right to me, pumpkin," she said warmly. "And don't feel like you have to rush. If you need time, take that time. Your star will always be there when you're ready."

Giving SInistra's shoulder a friendly squeeze, Nis got to her feet and brushed out her gown. Talk about impractical! Still, her was beyond pleased with the senshi and smiled as she was thanked.

"Anytime, pumpkin," she said. "I'm more than happy to help and be a sounding board if you need. You be good and take care now!"

With another smile, Nis waved cheerfully to the senshi. She had faith that Sinistra would do what was best for her.
