Charlotte Aoyama
[P O S T]
The ball itself had been a blur for charlotte. After receiving that text she barely remembered anything. Something about watching dancing and occasionally holding her scroll. She barely remembered the taste of food. That she met new people. Though the feeling of dislike seemed to flow into her distorted memories. She just knew that everyone seemed to be friendly. Least outwardly. And her mind started to ponder if all balls ended in distorted memories. If it was something in the air that did that. This was one of those nights. Charlotte had wandered off from her dorms late at night to sneak into the one place that barely got used. Least according to charlotte. The lib ar ry more commonly known as the library.
The library was quiet. Charlotte had built a small fort out of books. And had her umbrella up in the middle open to cover the open part. So from the outside it looked like a box of books with a umbrella open in the middle. In the middle she was curled up around the shaft of umbrella defensively. Her tail wrapped around her back to make sure no one hurt her spine… Even if she was screaming every now and then She was trying her best to keep quiet. Though every now and then she would kick a book flying from her stack.

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia TEAM: STWR SEMBLANCE:not activated Weapon: Gravityflux (Glaive/shotgun) ------------ Two days in from the ball, and Sasselia was still in mere shock. Three new friends, and a new team member was a lot to handle on both a positive and self-conscious side state of mind. On the one hand it was fantastic. On the other hand that would mean she would have to work on pushing herself out of her shell of awkwardness. Something that would take quite a bit of time and consideration. Only thing was such a thought had occurred earlier on in the morning over breakfast when conversing with her team. She should need to start improving. The rest of the day had involved a silent contemplation to a point where frustration would kick in. The only best solution was by her usual remedy: Reading. It was time at least to go find a few more new ones to check out. It was therapeutic for the nerves and where the woman would have felt most comfortable. She had no idea she was walking into something different then silence.
So late at night it was and the library at first looked to be completed deserted the moment Sasselia had stepped foot into the grand room of knowledge. Since starting in Vale she had been reading at least three books a day and within her time range it was not enough to even crack a dent in the total number of book that were resigning on every shelf all around. She made her way down along the aisles, until the point towards the fantasy fiction novels were placed. Picking three off the shelf, she made way towards an empty table, able to get set to reading "A Sirens' Harmony," when to he corner of her eye, the oddest thing to be witnessed was in fact there. Why were books stacked in such an odd manner, and why was there an umbrella covering the front of it, open wide. Did anyone not know it was bad luck to open an umbrella indoors? At first it seemed to be there as if a prank was left behind for the librarian or some other person to clean up. Such recklessness! An abuse to knowledge and abuse to books! They were the very soul of an authors heart for the world to see bear!! Well she was not having any of it!
Puffing her cheeks she slid the books away from her and leaving her tale to go investigate. She was stopped a few steps down to the sound of screaming and a few books from what she could see were knocked out of the stacking piles. Was somebody hiding there!? Pacing her steps over Sasselia towards the makeshift book fort. "Hello? Are you alright?" Reaching towards the umbrella, slowly she moved it away, opening the "door up to see a woman around her age in a deep sort of fitful sleep with their tail wrapped up, hidden from her sight. Another student? She jumped back a moment as the female was in the middle of another screaming chorus, another book kicked out. "H-hey! It's alright wake up now! M-miss? H-hello? Wake up... Wake up please!" Down to her knees Sasselia gently shook her shoulder, hoping to break her from her nightmares, biting her lip in sympathy.
Charlotte's memories where vivid. The blood covering her was almost like a shower as her tail was impaled inside of someone and even lifting them up into the air. Relishing the blood dripping down its tender length. The Smirking face of charlotte not even registering as her own in the reflection from the blood red waters surrounding her. The dead humans and fanus around her littering her path amung a underground base. The corridor filled with the stench of fear and death. Both enticing and scaring the Fanus charlotte to go commit more.
Charlotte snapped awake as she was shook. Her eyes flickering wide as she seemed to shout ”Beth wyt ti'n gwneud!” Her eyes wide Her left hand even reached for a small dagger that she always kept on her.. Well knife more than dagger. Though she instinctively stopped herself as she managed to translate what the weird woman was saying Her eyes seem to flutter around as if confirming she was where she was before she mumbled. ”What im fine.. I .. What..”Her tail uncurled and raised above her head defensively. Her breathing was a little course before she focused herself
”Why are you here… miss. In this lib .. ar .. ry .. of things. And useful building stuff” Charlotte herself stood up slowly as she stretched. Pretending she was all fine. “Is it day time already? Damn i guess i slept i…” She paused as she noticed that no one else was there. And that it was still dark in the windows. Both her arms moved to cover her chest for a few seconds. Her eyes seemed to harden from her nightmares as she refocused herself on her core. She seemed a little distraught even though she had. ”Why.. What.. Why .. pretty?” She blinked a little before cocking her head to the right hand side. Of course she was stood on one of the books now.

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia TEAM: STWR SEMBLANCE:not activated Weapon: Gravityflux (Glaive/shotgun) ------------ Just what on earth was the sleeping female before her dreaming about? The fact she was in a state of screaming and kicking made it seem impossible to wake her up from her dreadful slumber. Sasselia quickly had taken her hand back the moment the sleeping lady had awakened. She had screamed out some inaudible words that were perhaps a part of her dreams, but the blade she had been reaching for was definitely not a part of the dream world. It was only lucky for the womanly human alarm that the faunus had managed to conjure to her mind what was actually going on and to realize it was an episode she had been experiencing. Just how many had this female had just like this!? Sasselia was about to ask to see if Charlotte was okay, but her voice went caught in deadlock at the uncurling tail coming out of the small shadows. It had taken full willpower not to scream herself right on the spot, covering her mouth quickly to stifle. Holy crap a scorpion!!! Forget the hiding knife!! The tail would do the trick a lot more effectively!!! The faunus gene was no issue at all it was only the mere species of faunus that set the woman's heartbeat skyrocketing. It was only thankful Charlotte was taking a moment to focus herself, giving Sassy enough time to calm her own fears down before the were apparent. The way she was speaking was hiding the faunus's true emotions, and in turn, Sasselia was willing to do the same for the sake of courtesy, speaking in her usual soft spoken tone. There were small cracks at the end of her words, as a full on effort to look passed the scorpion tail was a must.
"N-nice to see you awake safely. I am rather glad... That I had stopped by here. I was originally here to find a few books to read actually. Fictional books are very good to help get ones mind off of things." The blue haired female tilted her head to the side at the quizzical remark made from Charlotte about the time of day. Did she perhaps sleep here more often then this particular night? Her mannerisms were easy to pick up she was really trying her best to focus her thoughts. I did cast an even bigger shroud of mystery as to why she was in the library to sleep. That was a question she would not ask for the sake of personal privacy, watching her in a more calm demeanor. "If she wanted to hurt you she would have already!" The thought crossed the woman's mind, which helped her calm a bit better around her companion, who still seemed very mindful of something hidden as she spoke. "Hm? D-do you mean me? Th-thank you very much you have lovely eyes and hair~." Unable to see the lower half of the scorpions' face, she could see the hidden beauty hidden away behind the facial piece. Watching her companion stand to her feet, Sasselia joined her, mostly to make sure the faunus would be alright or stable enough to stand alright despite the possible nerves she was suffering. "Are you going to be okay miss? Or would you like to sit down?"
Charlotte noticed the woman's eyes seemed to focus on her tail and even her pupils went wide in fear. A emotion she was so used to seeing in others. It even instinctively brought a smile to her lips. Though she tugged it away with her facial muscles as fast as she could muster the willpower to. Both her hands moved behind her back a little to try and make her look a little less worried. And a little less threatening.. As much as charlotte could with a dual stinger and armed to the teeth.
”I thank you Miss… Wait what is a fictional book?” She cocked her head over to the right hand side as she was now confused. Though the fanus blinked and even recalled a little as the compliment from before was returned about her hair. A small look of … Anger? Flickered into charlotte's face before filtering back to normal. ”Its hereditary Least they told me it is. I have no idea if it is really.” Her eyes flickered to the floor for the breifest of seconds before flickering back towards sasselias face as she asked if she was going to be okay. ” I think i will be fine. Will you be? You look like you are petrified? Also… do you eat the books to gain their knowledge? Oh.. I always awake safely. It's the things around me that dont .. survive…” She nervously shifted her weight from one foot to the other. A little worried that the new ‘friend’ was going to run away.
”Oh my name is Charlotte what is yours Miss? If you are a Miss? I mean im not sure… I am pretty sure i'm on a all girl team. The one who claims to be a guy. Aaron i think she calls herself likes to do cooking and other apparently stereotypically feminine things.” The fanus then gave a small nod as she didnt want to assume genders. Male. Female. Dead. Alive. They were all just states and could change on a whim… Especially if knives were involved.

Did she get caught staring? Sasselia had to make a mental note for next time to expect the unexpected more often. She had no recognition of how she probably had just come across, only to an extent she was unable to tell how Charlotte had taken it. The face piece in front of her mouth covered all her emotion. It added to the mysterious charm she was carrying and it hid away the inner exteriors of her nightmares. She even had a unique way of wording things, which brought an interest to keep speaking. It was a surprise though to see she was unsure of what a fictional book was. It was no problem to explain it. "Oh! They are books that contain stories that are not real. Like fairy tales. They are a delight to read. There are plenty around here oo. Such as.... Ah! The one right here on the floor. "The butterfly princess" is a good example. It has a lot of beautiful pictures in here too if you wish to take a look." Hm? Was that anger? Or was she trying to figure out is she was joking with her or not? The narrowed gaze she was making was the only hint. It was a relief for a moment until the question of condition was brought back towards her. Politely Sasselia nodded at first, bringing her left hand to scratch under the corner of her chin to think of her words a moment. "Oh I am alright I jump a bit more then I should care to. I will admit I had been a bit startled too I did not see your tail until you had moved it, but I am alright now, it is rather easier speaking to.... Hm? Oh! N-no I would not advise eating the books, reading would be the best way. Paper does not taste very good I would imagine!"
The next choice of words were rather surprising to hear. "OHH.. I see now." Recollecting the screams and the kicking, it was helping to clue in why she chose this location. "This is why you chose to rest here? So you would not hurt your team? I am sure they know you would not hurt them on purpose." Resting the fairy tale book she had picked up onto her lap, Sasselia settled on the side of one of the tables keeping better composed. The better name introduction made things easier as well. "Charlotte is a lovely name. I am indeed a miss, and my name is Sasselia~. If it makes it easier Sassy is alright too... I know all to well about being on an all girls team as well! It has been.. Fun to say the least. A different change of pace but enjoyable all the more." A possible male on her team that looks female? Still new to learning majority of the teams around, this description of somebody was unknown to her. "Hm..... Is the cooking any good? I hope it is a good team for your there's nothing better out there then a good company of people to have around."
Charlotte cocked her head over to the left hand side. The look of confusion flickering to her eyes as the fictional books where explained. She wasn't even sure what a fairytale was but that was a question for a little later at least. ”Why would they be read? Are books not supposed to teach someone? What can a fake book tell you?... The butterfly princess? I..” She fluttered her eyes towards the floor. She barely could admit she couldn’t read to her own team. She definitely wasn't going to admit it to a stranger Especially one she had yet to have the name of yet!
Again her head tilted over to the side. The right hand side this time almost like a cat would when its confused by what is being said. The woman's words and hand movement to scratch the corner of her own chin to think. Was that a standard human reaction? To scratch one's chin? Though she quickly started to speak again. ”Why would my tail be a issue? I.. wait what but the paper is the best part of the book? Unless you mix it with water… “ Her face gave away no opinion if she was joking about that or not. Though she wasn't her joking face was neutral! Least as much as the confused head tilted look allowed it to be.
It was then charlotte just decided to listen and let the woman finish. Even with the introductions done the fanus just kept quiet. Even as the cooking question. It seemed the scorpion was thinking. She was about her next set of words. Even if it seemed simple. ” A team needs to be able to fight together. If they cannot sleep then they cannot fight effectively. So it is only fair if i leave and sleep elsewhere. ” She wasnt going to mention that she couldn't fight effectively if she was awakening in fits of screaming but that was semantics. Charlotte had done the maths. One down slightly was better than all four. ”It is nice to meet you Miss Sasselia. Or miss sassy. And ehh i dont know i dont eat much and when i do its more for .. well to get stuff in me than for the taste i guess? Good.. company is … “ She fluttered her eyes to the floor again. They went sollem for a few seconds before they flickered back up. The internal conflict was back. Why was she hating things since the ball. The looking at the little boxes of light. The constant talking to them and about them. She hated it. She HATED it … but why… She didnt know. Charlotte's right fist slowly clenched up before she relaxed it again. ”They are a good team i just… I dont even know…Oh… Miss Sassy .. what is a fairytale…”

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia TEAM: STWR SEMBLANCE:not activated Weapon: Gravityflux (Glaive/shotgun) ------------ It seemed the more they were speaking the more confused the scorpion was becoming. It was becoming much more clear based on the faunus's words that perhaps reading was not a strong suit, but to Sasselia that was nothing to be ashamed about. Explaining everything there was to know about what fairy tales and ficton was something that would take too much time trying to explain a whole lot. To hear the scorpion must have feasted on book pages before was perhaps the closest to reading she knew? Perhaps she was wrong on that conclusion which was what kept her back from commenting about it. She did not wish to imagine what paper even tasted like! Much less with water soaking it up like the plague. "Well, I have never personally tried paper soaked in water.... I sadly cannot make a comment there! That sounds rather... Soggy though..." Was it indignation or was it just Sassy asking to many questions at once? Hm, this reminded her a little of her teamate Koryn, but in this case there seemed to be a lot more to it. Her companion was definitely on a little bit of the quiet side as she was, but it seemed to tak more tie to try and get through the shroud of mystery that the f aunus was only creating a larger cloud of once it seemed like she was about to understand. It did make sense then as per her reasons to choose this place. Much more effective for sleep, and as forementioned, for the sake of the teammates. Of course she did not pick up there was more to it then that. Only leaving a trail of confusion, which made it seem best not to question anymore about. It was at least a relief they both gave names to each other, which made somethigns easier. The faunus in front of her though was shifting through a many conflicting feelings. It was not as if there was any screaming, metiphorically. It was more about the body language given from the conflict in the eyes to the the clenching to the right fist. Of course Sassy made no comment, giving her time to sort her thoughts out in private. Her voice even as she managed to speak again was full of unknown confliction. "Do not worry about it you do not have to give me the details so much. If you are not sure then that is something only discovery and time can help should it be wished. I-I mean like creating memories, or learning ore about your team somehow to where it is comfortable for you~" The questions about what fairy tales were had arrived like the question about fiction novels. " Well, Fairy tales are stories that are usually filled with unreal stories of princesses and dragonns and hapy endings~. There are of course ones meant to scare or have sadness to em, but for the most part fairy tails are happy fake stories for those who like imagination and fantasy to help them escape from reality, even if only for a bit to read~."
Charlotte opened her mouth to speak before closing it and nodding. The information about soggy paper went somewhat over the faunus’s head. Though she had at least grasped that eating books was bad… this time. Well for now. The fanus’s right hand flickered up to her own face as she lightly tugged on her face mask. It was slightly itchy like it was most mornings. Though she wasn't going to remove it. Heck she hadn't even removed it around her teammates yet. Though she dragged herself back to right now as sasselia kept speaking. Eliciting a small nod in her reaction. ”I … this normally works as like a exchange of information right? That's how standard people do it?”
Her attention seemed to drift for a few seconds. Though she quickly started to speak again. ”Why would one want to escape from reality.. That is dangerous correct? Also… erm.. Two questions not on the topic of … well.. When you look at some one and it hurts when there with others and things is that normal? … and in difference … difference are the opposites.. Infamous and famous are opposites… is fer the opposite to infer… and ..If dislike is the opposite of like, is disaster the opposite of aster?” Her head tilted over to one side as she tried hiding one question with a second. And arguably a third that was also the second. Her tail wrapped around charlotte's waist
”Oh one more question i guess. Erm is it normal to have blank parts in memories? Like the ball not remembering parts?” She tilted her head over to the right hand side. It was a simple question. Most would put it towards either having a bad memory or being drunk maybe? But it was rather a specific close by event to mention that for? Either way charlotte had a light smile on her face. Least now she had woken up to at least the point of functioning like a living being.

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia TEAM: STWR SEMBLANCE:not activated Weapon: Gravityflux (Glaive/shotgun) ------------ Standard people?? Sasselia considered from what she knew of the faunus as standard so far. It was more of a current learning experience and Charlotte was seeming to understand it at least a little better then what she knew already. Communication seemed a good attempt, and so far it was possibly helping break the barrier between them, and helping Charlotte in a way Sasselia would not know herself. "Yes exactly. That is correct." It was a good starting points among people for the most part aside from scrolls at least. It was even more so the moment Charlotte became full of questions. She awaited till all the questions she had were asked, easily able to answer the first no problem. "Well, it can be, but if it is at a time lets say.... Like during in a safe place like this with something that makes you happy, then it is not so bad. Sometimes it is good for dreams and if you wish to be more imaginative or creative with something you enjoy. That is one good way say... Like some of the stories here. Some were created by such a way. As everything needs to start by something one way or another. Er.... If I did not mess on explaining that..."
The next round of questions left the woman in thought for a moment, in order to form the words in her head correctly. Did she mean being jealous or envious? Or did she mean heartache? There were many ways to answer that one, but she spoke with what she could understand out of it all. "Weel, it depends if you like the person or not for starters. If you cherish them and they are with others, yes that is a normal feeling depending on how bad that feeling gets. You just don't want to let that feeling hurt you too much because if you like the person you may make them perhaps mad for the sake of not enjoying the fact they are around others. It is normal though don't worry. As for wording opposites... Disaster would be... The opposite of ... Peace... Or Serenity... That.. Depends on the person"s point of view on that one I would think... I am honestly not to sure myself. That's an excellent question though!"
The final question the faunus had was something that had stumped Sassy a little bit. Amnesia perhaps? From what she once read on such a topic during a medical book reading, she stroked her chin to think, resting that arm upon her elbow of the other arm to think. "Well now, that question is a bit harder to answer. Let's see.... It is uncommon I will say, as memory problems relating to amnesia can either happen by a traumatic event or certain triggers to the mind on a physical matter. If you have experienced any of that... According to my researching once... That is something only time can help with. Like... Senses of deja vu before your eyes.. Scents around you.. Even the odd dream of memory flickering back to life. I am not a doctor in that matter to answer that but I can tell you it is very uncommon but only time can make it arranged.... I hope that was the kind of answer you were looking for!"
Charlotte Tried offering Sasselia a smile as she listened to the first batch of questions be answered. Although like normal that brought up even more questions. First of what was just a simple. ”But bloodshed apparently ruins books.” That wonderful remark was straight after in a safe place like this with something that makes you happy. Did bloodshed realy make the young fanus happy? From the look on her face that was a definite maybe?. Though the follow on to that just caused the scorpion fanus to nod her head. Whether this was a good thing at all. Well that was unknown. Telling someone to be more imaginative and creative with something they enjoy can be a triple edged sword.
The fanus’ eyes flickered to the books on the bottom row as she started to speak slower time, though even though it was slower emotions heavily cracked though. “ What does liking a person mean? I.. “ Her right hand drifted over where her heart would be. Her face even with mer mouth covered was in turmoil. Her eyes swirling with emotion before she dragged them away only for a coldness to take over. ”It Hurts. Medical treatment demands you remove the Object causing you pain correct?” And back to a monotone voice it went. Well monotone compared to the emotions that broke though just seconds before.
”Disaster is the opposite of peace or serenity? Would blessing work better as isn't that a favour or protection from the supposed gods… “ Her eyes flickered to the left a little before they relocked onto sassy. ”Do not fear the gods. Fear mankind and fanus. “ She just lightly smiled for a second as she seemed to remember something. Though that faded as she listened to sassy talk about amnesia. Her left hand drifted into one of her pouches to produce her scroll.
”I looked at this moving box thing and then i remember nothing more from the night.. I do not think this was a traumatic event… did anything explode.. And what triggers could it be? Like a blow to the back of the head? I don't think i had one of those either. I… also don't normally have deja vu.. Least if i understand the word correctly. “ The Dream one however made a bit more sense. And she admittedly nodded towards that. ”It was not. I guess… But thank you. I.. “ She offered the woman her scroll to see if anything was on there. Though currently all it would have is a combination of colours, pictures of seemingly random nature and a number 4 in the middle slowly spinning around in a circle. Though curiously charlotte would hand it facing away from herself. Almost as if subconsciously she was afraid of it. Even if with the same beat she was steping after it. Was her subconscious conflicted about such a simple action of handing ones scroll over to a ‘friend’

§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ SasseliaArgenia TEAM: STWR SEMBLANCE:not activated Weapon: Gravityflux (Glaive/shotgun) ------------ The more questions and the more answers, Sasselia almost wondered if a few of her answers were too much. Many of Charlotte's questions were becoming more challenging, which was lucky for the scorpion that their companion loved to test her own knowledge. It was a difficult moment, but made the evening stretch a little. "Bloodshed indeed ruins some books if you mean literally putting blood on a book. In books there are many scenes of bloodshed depending on the choice of literature. Usually war novels, and horror or action genres have those kind of writings most." Where the mention of bloodshed had arrived from the bluenette had no recognition they were speaking of literal bloodshed. The smile behind Charlotte's face concealed to be missed. It was more of the tone that rose curiosity, but it wasn't pressed, nor was it pried at. The next response to a long line of answering shifted that curiosity away. The monotone voice of Charlotte sending worried vibes. The emotion beforehand on her face a clear sign something was triggered. At first Sasselia had no idea how to answer, only reacting when medical treatment was even brought up. "N-no! In this case it does not! Emotional pain cannot be s-solve by med-medical treatment!"
What was going on!? It was hard to resist tensing up, the calming aura they had between them slightly darkening by the turmoil of Charlotte and her sudden shift of energy. She was not going to bolster, nor was she going to let her own mental anxiety take over. The faunus definitely had some sort of tale or story behind their speech patterns and reactions. To say it only bothered the faunus slightly was an understatement. Why else would she suddenly give off such negative vibes of pain!? Where was this talk of gods arising from as well!? Was it perhaps a cult related tragedy!? The bluenette curled her fingers till her knuckles were almost white. Do not fear the gods!? Why was she being told to fear huma and faunus!? What did that mean!? Resiting a small gulp, Sasselia remained vigilant to speak to Charlotte despite the momentary discomfort. It seemed the amnesia talk helped clear that disturbing aura. It more arouse more clarity.
"Deja vu is when you do something, and sometime down the road you do something of the same similarity as the first time around but cannot exactly remember if you had already done so or when. I mean... Say finding a coin on the ground. you see it and pick it up around a specific location.. Then sometime down the road you are at the same location and you see a coin in the same area or perhaps a few steps away from the first time you found a coin. You pick it up, and an odd unexplainable feeling kicks in, making you believe you may have done this before already, or am trying to remember if you had once picked a coin up around there.... As for your questions on amnesia... I-I am not much of a specialist for this but.... Blows to the back of the head can be (but not preferably) the best kind of trigger. Certain smells and sights can do that too. Can be really anything to be honest. Perhaps even this box you speak of could be a possible trigger. All it takes is a little bit of time perhaps... Of course we sh-should find a way to help with the nightmares at least." There was nothing much Sasselia could help with anymore, only able to give some remotely (and hopefully) useful advice. Her mood perked up from Charlotte's thank you, a bit surprised to having the woman's scroll passed to her. Taking it with at first hesitance, it felt almost like peeping into the woman's personal life. There had to be reason it was passed, so Sasselia looked, admiring each nature photo that passed. She was a pretty decent photographer that was for sure. Though things were perhaps random, each had something that obviously was of interest to the faunus. It was when she had stopped her thumb had stopped on the photo with the number four. What sort of photo was this? The mere fact the four was spinning... It rose a bit of question, which she kept to herself. Odd. Did she take this somewhere or had she saved it herself off another link? Was it perhaps connected to what was going on wit her?? Sasselia could only look towards her, politely handing her back her scroll. "That one particular one you have... That spinning four... Do you ever see it in your dreams at all? Or your nghtmares by chance?"
