(Back dating this a bit, to before Kiuchi went eternal.)
After dinner and finishing his homework, he had a paper due at the end of the week, Xi-wang had gone out with a quick mention to Nischal and Jason that he was going to go out energy grabbing. He could handle himself, something he had to assure the others of, before he left and walked a block or two away before figuring it was safe enough to power up.
That done the darkly dressed senshi headed off across the cities rooftops, his destination unknown at the moment. He was just planning to let his feet guide him, as well if he heard any noise from people, he’d get whatever energy he could before calling it a night. He didn’t honestly want to spend too long out, not tonight, he wanted to just curl up in his bed and sleep.
He’d been doing that a lot since moving into Nischal and Jason’s home. Sleeping was something he’d always been good at, it had always been an escape for him, and he’d been sleeping less since he’d gotten a job and started dating but with the lacking of one thing and his emotions not exactly being bright and cheerful he figured it was ok to fill whatever time he had with sleep.
Maybe on friday night he’d see about sneaking into his mother's home and seeing if he couldn’t find what he wanted, what he’d tried to find for years on and off. He was bound to find it...or find out where it was. For now though he was back to hunting for energy as he paused on a rooftop, hearing some people down below.
That day Bluebell had finished up her homework early so that she could enjoy a dinner out with some friends. It was still a challenge for her to balance her regular life with her more supernatural one. The last thing she wanted was her friends to think she was bailing on them all of the time. They already brought up the fact that she was less social since Halloween. ‘Did something happen? You can always talk to us?’ No, this was something she really couldn’t talk to them about. How could they possibly understand that she’d been attacked by a bat and saved by a cat? A talking cat!
At least she had been better about hanging out with them lately. There were plenty of opportunities to see them around the Crystal campus. For a while she had unintentionally ignored many of them during lunch or club activities. Her mind was too distracted by the thoughts of what she’d be up to in the evenings. Ciel had helped her realize that just because she was a Senshi, that didn’t mean she had to give up everything else. It had been nice, getting in tune with being a normal teen again.
Still, chaos didn’t stop. It didn’t magically go away and she’d make sure the people she cared about didn’t fall victim to it. After dinner was over she made up an excuse that she needed to go to her parent’s house for something. It went over without a hitch and the girls made their way back toward campus while she headed in the opposite direction. A few blocks away she found a safe place to power up and jumped up on the closet rooftop. It felt natural to be up here now. Since her encounter with the baton wielding agent she was completely better. No more bruising on her skin and she’d even found some training partners since then. There was some new confidence there, whatever she found tonight she’d be able to handle it.
There was the possibility she wouldn’t find anything that night, but as she moved from one rooftop to the net eventually an energy signature popped up on the borders of her radar. It wasn’t like something she had felt before. It felt stronger than the agent she had the misfortune of running into before. While it was chaos, it was still different in some way she couldn’t really explain. The whole sensing thing was a two way street though, so she couldn’t stand there and just think about what to do. She had to take action, so she picked up her speed as she made her way toward the sense of danger.
When she landed on the same rooftop she crossed her arms and spoke. “Do you really think I’m gonna let you get away with whatever you’re scheming?”
Already his wraiths were out and handling energy gathering from the people down below, it was something he didn’t need to do himself, so when he felt the signature of a senshi headed his way he didn’t worry too much. He’d had plenty of negative interactions with senshi, he could only thing of one white moon senshi that had been good to him, but he didn’t want to assume which way this encounter would go...if it became an encounter. He had no way of knowing if they’d seek him out even.
When they did turn up he wasn’t surprised, he’d felt them coming, nor did their words surprise him too much. He did feel that little bubble of hope break though. He’d hoped for someone who was like Athene, and not like the rest.
“Scheming? You’re assuming you know what I’m doing.” And she was wrong, he was just gathering energy.
Shrugging a bit he turned to face her, dark eyes taking in the nearly all white outfit, it was really pretty, and he found himself smiling just a bit. She looked a lot nicer than she sounded, considering she looked like something which wasn’t human thanks in large part to her outfit and her own coloring.
“Can I help you?”
Admittedly, it was a very different reaction than what she had received when confronting the blonde with the baton. Tsih hadn’t really given the girl much of a chance to not fight though, seeing as she had thrown the punch first. This guy though, he was trying to act innocent, but she knew better. They were all up to something, even if it wasn’t obvious. There was another big difference between him and the blonde, besides their hair color. He looked like a Senshi and didn’t appear to have any sort of weapon on him. Well, that evened out her playing ground a little bit.
“I know you can’t be up to anything good.” As he turned to face her she stood her ground. He was pretty tall, but honestly wasn’t too intimidating other than his height. He seemed almost bored though and that could be a bad thing.
“You could take this punch like a man.” She had been warned about her banter, it was ridiculous. But, sadly she wasn’t going to stop. Maybe it was just part of her nerves, eventually that would go away. This is where her training would come in handy, hopefully. She had given him a bit of a warning, so when she took some steps toward him and swung a fist she expected him to be ready for it. Too bad it was a fake and she quickly dropped down and swung out her leg, hoping to sweep him off his feet.
Take a punch like a man...was there an actual way a punch was supposed to be taken? He almost wanted to question it, just to point out how absurd that sounded, and that she was asking him to let himself be hit but he didn’t. He was rather surprised, and maybe even a bit bothered, by her words as he went to move and avoid the incoming fist. Problem was she dropped down and he did to as his legs were knocked out from under him.
Landing with a loud thump and some sort of pained sound, cause he’d landed right on his tailbone, the dark haired senshi of gorgon’s really didn’t want to fight, he wanted to use his magic even less, but he didn’t want to be out long and maybe if he used his magic it would end this all quicker?
He had been trying to look at his magic, as of recently, as a way to stop a fight quicker and easier. If he could end things without blood being spilled and punches thrown it was a good, viable, option in his mind.
From his place on the ground he reached up and plucked what looked like a hair from his own head, only it wasn’t as that would hurt and he’d eventually wind up bald, and as the hair seemed to start to glow he threw it at the other senshi as he called his attack. He hadn’t used this attack yet so wasn’t sure just what it did, but he assumed it wouldn’t be much different from his other bit of magic. “Gorgon’s assault.”
A touch of pride showed on her face when she managed to knock the considerably taller individual to the ground. So her training really had done a little something for her after all. Truth be told, she did not believe her first real fight after the scrappy blonde would start out well. As well as any fight could start really.
There was definitely something different about her opponent this time. She had yet to experience a fight in which the offender had their own magic at hand. In top of that, she hadn’t really practiced against anything like it. It’s not like she was in the dark about enemy Senshi either. Unfortunately her first lost had been loss had been against someone who used their fists. Forgive her for momentarily forgetting that magic was an actual thing.
There wasn’t any way for her to dodge the attack, not considering how close she was to him. The effects hit her instantly and she stumbled backwards, which didn’t help in the least. It felt like sea sickness, her feet were unstable under her, like the roof of the building was rocking. She held her hands out to each side in an attempt to steady her shaking world. There wasn’t a chance she’d fall of the roof was there? Better to stand still and wait out the effects.
He must have had time by now to get back on his feet, so much for the little advantage she had started out with. She needed to do something now though, no way was she going to be a sitting duck. She moved her hand out in front of her and quickly called out her magic. “Glittering Pixie Dust!” And with as much breathe as she could muster she blew it in his direction. Maybe the wind up here would help her out a bit. She certainly hoped so.
Watching as his magic struck her he waited, to see what would happen, he really was curious what it would do. While he assumed what it would do he knew he could be wrong, this was magic he was dealing with after all. But it did seem, rather soon after, that it was indeed making her ill to some extent - good. Well, he wasn't happy she was sick but he was glad that it was keeping her from striking him. It seemed to be putting a pause to things, maybe it would bring this to an end as well?
It seemed however that he’d been too hopeful as she went for the magic also, she did after all possess magic the same as he did. He wasn’t expecting it, figuring his magic would keep her too distracted, but he really should have been prepared for it. Instead he caught himself sneezing on some glitter dust..the hell? Ohhh...fairy dust or something like that, right? She’s said pixie...so like fairies then. Lovely.
Taking a step towards her, figuring closing the distance and maybe attacking her now was a good idea, he found his world slowly distorting as things seemed further away while some things seemed suddenly closer. Oh wow...ok this wasn’t so good. He was trying to hit her, right? But why again was that?
Honestly, after she had unleashed her magic she had closed her eyes. Why? Because even that little movement made her feel like she was going to be sick. God, did she hate feeling sick. It was the worst thing in the world. The fever...the barfing, it was all terribly unpleasant. Not to mention she had come from a wonderful dinner out with friends. The last thing she wanted was to see it in reverse.
When he sneezed though, a small smirk formed. At least her magic had connected, it was worth the nauseating feeling in her stomach and she finally opened her eyes, to see him on his feet and attempting to move toward her.
“I wouldn’t come closer if I were you. Come near me and I’m gonna barf all over those cute slip-ons of yours.” The bells on her wrists jingled softly as she moved her hands out in front of her, in an attempt to keep him at bay if he did decide to try anything. Every little movement brought her closer to doing what she had warned, but her safety came first. Honestly, she didn’t want to throw up on anyone, that was pretty gross. Even her worse enemy didn’t deserve something like that. If this was how his magic worked, had that ever happened to him? It’d probably be unavoidable for him at some point. Wait...was she actually feeling bad for him?
Cute slip-ons? He’d never thought of them as such, though they were terribly comfortable. He just didn’t think them too warm or safe if he had to walk on glass or anything sharp, like jagged rocks or pebbles. But her word on them was new to him. “Y-yeah..don’t need that…” That would be terrible, wouldn’t it? That really would be a pain and then he’d have to power down and clean his feet somehow.
“Sorry...if you didn’t attack I wouldn’t have had to make you sick. It’s better than hitting you.” At least he thought it was, he didn’t want to really hit her like she’d wanted to hit him. He wasn’t that sort of person. He wasn’t a violent sort of person, and he doubted he ever would be.
“I forget though...why was I trying to hit you?” Yeah, cause he really didn’t remember. There was a reason though, he knew that. There had to be...right?
Tsih was only half listening to him. Since it seemed her magic actually had worked on him, it gave her some time to focus on the very nauseous feeling bubbling up inside of her. Breath in and out, just focus on not throwing up the lovely dinner you just had with friends. It was starting to fade, slowly though.
“I’d rather take a punch to the face than deal with this.” Was there anyone in the world that enjoyed being sick? Maybe if it got them out of an exam or something, gave them more time to study. Not worth it in her book. How many more times could he do this?
“This could have been a friendly little spar and that you had to go an unleash that.” Maybe she could end this without a fight though, a certain Knight had been trying to get her out of her ‘punch first’ attitude. “But you know, if you agree to call it a night, so can I.” She really shouldn’t be staying out too late anyway. When was the last time she actually took studying seriously? She was going to be a Senior before too long. Sometimes she forgot it wasn’t all about defeating evil, there were other, just as important, things going on in her life.
“That’s why I don’t use my magic.” He stated as he decided that sitting on the ground was a very good idea, as he’d tried to move and instead found his world sort of going a spin and tilt...or a tilt and spin. Either way it had been rather displeasing to say the least. “I don’t like you’re magic either...it could make someone sick.” Though maybe not as much as his did - since that was all his did.
“You used your magic too.” He stated as he stared up at her, pouting at her even. “We can leave things like this. I think if we move too much either of us will be sick.” And while he was starting to get over her magic it was still there...just a bit. He still didn’t trust moving around much. The threat of being sick, of getting turned about, had him not wanting to move from his place on the ground just yet.
“You used your’s first. I used mine defensively!” Tsih was quick to accuse. How was she supposed to know if he wouldn’t take advantage of her in the state his magic put her in. Though, if he honestly came at her she could have just been sick all over him. That probably would have sent him packing. As disgusting of a thought as that was.
It was wearing off though starting to anyway. At this point she simply had little butterflies in her stomach. A reminder of how close she had come to losing her dinner. She crossed her arms in front of herself and glared down at the Dark senshi as he decided to sit to keep his balance. That was a surprise to her, she’d never seen anyone show any weakness in front of her. Let alone an enemy. What was keeping her from walking over and pushing him off that ledge? Well, aside from their little verbal agreement. If she wasn’t such a good person, she could take advantage of that.
“Well. You did stop...whatever it was you were doing before I got here, right?” She walked over to the ledge, keeping her distance from the other senshi and peered over. “We are calling it a night after all, right?”
“I used mine to stop the fight. You knocked me down. I didn’t want the fight to continue or escalate...it’s not good.” He said slowly, testing out each word before speaking. When he did stand it was slowly, shifting his weight and making sure he was stable on his feet. He didn’t like being off balance, it left him with a sick feeling in his stomach.
“Yeah...I did. I was gathering energy for our...safe haven.” He could only think to call it that, calling it mirrorspace he doubted would tell her anything really. Most didn’t know just what mirrorspace was, even those who’d heard the word from a dark mirror senshi. It was also rather hard to define. He couldn’t say homeworld but he would equate it to that...since it was all they had, where as senshi had planets and knights had other places. This was their place - their home.
“Better get better at it then, next time you might not be so lucky.” Tsih couldn’t help feeling like she was leaving her job unfinished here, but she wanted to trust that she had stopped him from doing anything more tonight at least. Sometimes you had to accept the little victories.
Whatever, ‘safe haven’ he was talking about, she could only shake her head. If your home required energy from innocent people to thrive, then it wasn’t exactly a place she would call safe. It was late though, and she didn’t want to sit him down and explain everything wrong with what he was saying. One final glance his way and she was off. Not immediately heading in the direction of home. She wanted to make sure he wasn’t following her first.
