Demanthra was still deep in her thoughts, the drama that had unfolded on the hatching grounds still fresh on her mind. She felt like she was on autopilot as she rested against her bright green. Closing her eyes, she couldn't shake that final image of a baby going between from her mind. It sent a shiver down her spine, knowing the candidate who had died must have been the one the green had been meant for.
We will remember her always, her and her rider. Just like we do my siblings,came Monath's voice softly in her head. The green nuzzled her rider, knowing the swirl of emotions going through the young woman's head. She wished she knew what more to say, so just sent all the love she could to her rider.

It had taken Rhiyn a long time to realize that he ought to be finding Demanthra. Two lives had been lost on the sands, and several candidates had been injured. He’d stood beside one of them. She’d seemed lifeless, laying on the sands, and then she’d come back with the help of Ra’mi and Ionan.
He’d tried even after that. Tried and failed. How could he face Demanthra? But he had to. He knew her well enough to know she hadn’t grabbed a bite to eat when the dragons had started humming.
He found her, and took her hand. “Breakfast,” he said.

Demanthra just blinked when Rhiyn grabbed her hand, not even really aware he was there at first. She began to pull her hand back, when it seemed she had begun to come out of her mind. Looking at him, she wondered what he was doing here, having not heard him speak about breakfast. Thankfully, her other half had heard quite clearly.
He is taking you to get some food in your stomach, Mine. I can't help but agree with him on that one. You didn't eat before the humming and have been up here since you got the remaining candidates back to their barracks. I know you are upset about the deaths and not knowing what is to come with your job..but you do need to eat. And do not give me anything about you will at the feast,Monath spoke firmly.
"Alright,"she spoke to both, since it was the same argument, just about.
