Two weeks had passed since, well, Mavericks raided the mall and a Repliforce agent Serra and her coworker Brenda had seen often actually... Throttled the majority in an impressive show of skill for how sweet and clumsy he seemed. Honestly Serra was sure he was trying to impress Brenda -- the girl was a repoid too, but Brenda constantly ignored him and when he seemed to try looking gothic one day she'd all but chided him for stereotyping. Serra thought he was cute, and sweet, though -- charming! So when she'd thanked him that smile -- warm and wide and gentle... Surprised her when he turned it on her, staying close. So they'd talked, and no, he wasn't even interested in Brenda. He'd been eying her. Her immediate response when he invited her out, then, had been yes -- and why not? He seemed to be good andfriendly, so when she got off work on the day they agreed, she made sure to change into something cute. Something for formal or casual -- he hadn't recommended either! -- a knee long black kitten face tank strap style dress, dark pink shrug, pink kitty stockings, and black mary janes, and she crept to meet Colonel -- Conlaough? He was so INFORMAL -- at the restaurant he'd suggested, sitting outside on a bench and studied her reflection. She wondered if she shoulfd wear makeup, she was so nervous, but she couldn't stop shaking, or pick a pink eyeshadow, or anything. She just worried he might cancel, or stasnd her up, or.. Or... Something. But she hoped not. He was so gentle and kind and... Aaaand she began blushing, thinking about his escapadfes. Oh my...

Conlaoch was not naturally a nervous sort of reploid. He was a ranking officer and as such could not afford to be nervous - at least not while he was on duty. Off-duty, however, was another story entirely, and he was well aware that he presented a different sort of picture at those points in time. And... well, he was off-duty right now, so it was probably alright that he had absolutely no confidence in what he was doing. ... His sister was laughing at him, he knew it. How he'd managed to arrange to meet this pretty young lady properly rather than just see her when he was working his civilian shift, he didn't know, but here he was, hoping it'd work out. Hoping she was even here. Standing people up was a thing that happened, wasn't it? It could easily happen to him, given how... ah. Bad he was at flirting and anything romantic...

For a moment she didn't see him, the girl swallowing-- then he arrived and Serra was on her feet, walking over in wonder -- smiling too, though. "I'm glad to see you!" Serra greeted, beamjng. He came, he hadn't stood her up; that was a huge relief by itself, and she budgeted shyly. "Wanna- wanna go in?" Hopefully he didn't regret asking her out for wearing KITTY themed things!

"If that's what you'd like," Conlaoch said, profoundly hoping he wasn't going about this the wrong way. He wasn't good with civilians, let alone this kind of interaction. He offered her his arm, hoping he wasn't assuming incorrectly about what he was supposed to do, and wondered idly about why she was wearing so many cats. Was... was that a fashion thing? To wear cats? ...Did he need to start wearing cats?

HE WASN'T BOTHERED! Serra made a soft noise of relief, and reached, taking his arm fondly as she rest her head on his shoulder thoughtfully. This. This spot, accepting his arm, daring show just this much felt... Right somehow and not at all strange as her coworkers felt it might. He was safe, kind, and warm. He'd shown his bravery enough, and he was still... Well, he not only didn't stand her up, he was gentle and kind and Serra felt her heart begin pounding as a small smile forced itself to her face. "As long as you're here I'm happy to go in." She said, and turned red. OH, OF COURSE SHE SAID SOMETHING SO MUSHY. GOOD JOB, IDIOT. "I mean... It's good food here. If you like Italian?" She was blushing already. Was this why she got stood up so much? Because if so she hoped Conloach didn't regret this.

Was... he doing this right? Conlaoch didn't want to say or do the wrong thing just because he was used to rigid military structure. (That was a part of the reason why he had bothered taking a civilian job for his free time, anyway - he needed to learn about humans, about life outside of repliforce, and he... needed something to do before his sister started mocking him for being married to his job.) ... However, none of that experience seemed to be helping here. But - at least she seemed to be enjoying herself? If she was happy, then he was... probably not doing too badly. Right? "I - ah - it's fine?" He wasn't actually sure if he'd even tried Italian before. It was like his memory banks had gotten temporarily fried. Was he dealing with a virus of some kind? "Let's... Let's go."

Serra was alert, more alert than she liked admitting to the male Reploid's movements. Something seemed wrong, and her mind immediately panicked. Was it her? Had he been trying to ask her coworker out aftyer all? That... Stung in a space that already had ached lately -- she was obviously depsperate enough to lie to herself about being liked by someone worth anything -- at least, a reploid. No wonder some other coworkers had been eying her oddly since accepting - no wonder people got so up about it! Serra paused, and very nervously shifted, pulling her arms to herself to look uip to Conlaoch shyly, green eyes worrying. "....It's alright if you'd rather do something else." She said, voice unsure. "Did I do something wrong, though?" Best know what her problem was, so she could fix ity. Maybe then the last few tries wouldn't be so painful -- trying to meet others only to be an ornament or treated like someone expectyed to put out after -- or, gods forbid, like her pair of exes -- cheated on and beaten for sdaring to wait for anything until in a solid commitment, or asking a little respect... Maybe there was something wrong wiuth her. Maybe...

"What? No!" He was quick to shake his head, eyes wide. Haad hesaid or done something wrong, to give her the impression that he wasn't enjoying her company? That - he couldn't stand for that, nor for letting her think for even a moment that he didn't want to be near her. "No, it's... this is outside my realm of experience, that's all, I'm... sorry for frightening you." And he was, truly he was, he'd already messed this up and they hadn't even gone inside yet! Ugh, his sister was going to be so disappointed in him... "Please, believe me - you've done nothing wrong. Nothing at all."

Serra studied Conlaoch several moments before moving back to him slowly,, slowly taking his hand. He... Seemed sincere, and that was more than she was used to alone, the woman looking awkward. "I... I'm sorryI... I've had bad experiences dating and most guys haven't been great so I'm scared I'm the omne who does something wrong." She shifted slowly, moving her gaze to his eyes from his chin nervously. "Honestly. I don't know what I'm doing unless you consider TV or movies a 'proper' education on this." Another pause, and she smiled. "What ARE you familiar with? Maybe we could get take out and go do that instead?"
