Quinn was tired. He was so damn tired of everything. The nightmares. The job. The worry. Everything. He needed a vacation but he didn’t have the time to do so. The best he could do was enjoy the little time he took to walk his cat. One might ask why a person would walk a cat, a dog made sense, but a cat? However one look at the large savannah cat and all such questions were answered. “Come on darling,” the young man talked quietly to the big cat as he shouldered their way out of his apartment building. He was heading for the fenced park right down the street, there he could let the cat run without the leash, some thing she really loved.
He nodded to the other people who were enjoying the late fall day in the park with their dogs, the canines were used to the monster feline by now since this was at least a weekly occurrence for the two. Quinn tried to take Isis out daily but sadly life got in the way, if he didn’t take her to the park then his landlady would at least take her out for a walk. It was the only way he could keep his apartment intact since the hyperactive cat would have destroyed it without enough stimulus to keep her entertained. If he didn’t love his place, its location near the university, his landlady, and his rent costs he would honestly think of moving to a place he could let Isis run around in. The loft was spacious but it definitely paled in comparison for sheer square footage of a house, let alone having a actuall yard that he could let the cat run around in.
Quinn sighed and settled down on one of the benches as he kept an eye on the savannah cat, she was currently playing around in the fallen leaves and having the time of her life. Sometimes he wished he could be a cat too.

Cass had gotten out of her dance rehearsal early.
There was a pleasant ache that settled in her muscles that only came from a good work out and she was buzzing with energy. It was tempting to call up a boyfriend and ask them to swing by but...she wasn't quite ready to be all stuck inside for however long she felt like being entertained.
The air had that winter chill to it and her midriff was exposed by her cutoff sweater but it didn't seem to bother her, even with the low ride fo the sweats she wore.
Arms were stretched overhead, a yawn escaping her as she trekked across the park, before her gaze settled on an usual sight. A cat, frolicking in the leaves. Amused, she approached the man who seemed like her own.
"Do you let all p***y cats run free or just that one?"

Quinn was lost in his own thoughts, absently keeping an eye on his cat, when someone spoke to him. The strange voice had him starting slightly before he glanced at the owner, a young woman who was definitely not dressed for the weather since he could see her midriff. “I don’t know about others but Isis there is rather special,” a head tilt indicated the savanna cat who was chasing a particularly active leaf. “Savannah cats are exceptionally active and highly intelligent.” He glanced back at the cat and grinned, “Mix the brains of a cat, the energy of a puppy, and the agility of a monkey and you got a savanna cat.” In all honesty, Isis was his only joy lately. Between work, his parents, being a Knight, and everything else coming home to the lovable fur-ball helped ease the stress he felt building every day. It wasn’t much but she helped, as did the familiar surroundings of his college home, the loft was the first and only place he lived in once he moved out… not including those few months when he was overseas working. Letting out a surprising whistle, Quinn grabbed the cat’s attention and called her over, “Come here Isis.” It took a moment but the cat finally pranced over and promptly head butted him in the legs, purring like a small motor. “Contrary to belief cats can be trained, it's just a pain in the a**.” He grinned and passed a treat from his pocket to the large cat. Luckily Isis had decided to trot over when Quinn called for her, if she hadn’t it would require him to either chase after her in a game he was likely to loose or just give up getting her to come over. Both would have been bad in the sense of her training, it was hard to reinforce bad behavior when you couldn’t catch the fur ball, but in the grand scheme of things it wasn’t a big deal. Besides, when in doubt bribery normally works.

The guy was receptive enough, with Cass liked and she wasted no time in taking a seat on the bench beside them. The concept of personal space wasn't really something Cass had, so she was perhaps uncomfortably close for someone who wasn't touching him, yet.
She looked amused as the cat came tromping over, green eyes immediately flicking up to see if there was a tell-tale sign on her forehead of intelligence. When she spotted nothing, her attention returned to the handsome stranger.
"Mm, I've trained a cat or two," she told him, licking her lips when she grinned with the implication of something else that she didn't seem inclined to clarify. "Most things are trainable with enough time~"
And desire, but she needed to get to know the man a little better before she started implying too much.
"I'm Cass," she offered, hand included. "You are...?"

Nuxaz its a small tag sorry >.< Quinn glanced over at the woman as she settled on the same bench, a little too close honestly, but focused on the cat who was currently demanding his attention. He did call her over after all, a good scratch behind the ears and some general patting. He even slipped her a treat as the woman who joined him made a comment that just begged for a joke, he couldn’t help the snort and the smirk but he held the joke down. “Yeah pretty much,” he glanced over when the lady introduced herself. “Quinn, nice to meet you,” he twisted a bit to shake her offered hand with his left hand since Isis was currently nomming on his fingers on his right hand. “This is Isis,” He tapped the cat on the nose when she nibbled on his finger just a bit more than he appreciated. “She is quite friendly if you would like to give her a pat. She just likes to make sure I’m not hiding any more treats.”

Cass hummed, watching the way the man acted with his over-sized cat. He wasn't exactly receptive to her subtle-but-not flirting or it was going over his head. Either way, she found herself growing bored very quickly. She wasn't used to people paying more attention to an animal than her.
Still, she was here and she figured one more push would be enough.
Absentmindedly she offered her hand for the feline. She didn't care about the cat, but she could play nice for now.
"Do you only hang out with feline girls or do you play with human ones too?"

That question didn’t leave a lot to wonder about. It was pretty clear that she was at least interested in him. Enough to have him give her a once over again, with more attention. She was pretty. A little a-typical then the women who normally he dealt with with her half shaved hairstyle and her outfit. Lately he sees women in business suits or designer outfits that practically scream ‘privileged’ or ‘in charge’ which made Quinn feel more like he was doing business then anything romantic. With a smile that had more than a little bit of a smirk to it the young man said, “It depends on the girls.” He had to bite his own tongue too keep from adding, Why? Do you want to play? Instead he asked a more typical question, “So what brings you to the park? Which dog is yours?” He nodded towards the dogs that were running around. It being a fenced park meant there were a lot of unleashed pooches playing around. The woman wasn’t the only one that was getting bored, the cat was too. She sniffed at the woman’s hand before nipping at the fingers to see if maybe she had food too. “Isis,” Quinn chided the big feline and gently tugged her back. “Sorry about that. She doesn’t mean anything about it.” He knew that if she really meant to bite it would be much worse then just a little nibble.” He wrangled with the cat a bit before he gave up and just leashed the little monster. The cat promptly started to wander until she reached the end of her leash, at which point she just turned around and headed in a different way.

He seemed more receptive and her grin shifted into more of a smirk before it nearly fell away completely. He had reverted back to small talk and it made her sigh.
"None of them," she answered with a shrug. "I'm more of a cat person." There was a specific cat in mind, a mangy orange maine coon with a wicked tongue but that wasn't something she could say.
She'd come to watch the owners and decide if any of them were worth playing with.
They weren't and even the cat owner was disappointing.
She jerked her hand back when the cat nipped at her. "She looks like she needs some attention. Maybe you should get back to that."

Nuxaz With Cass's post everything will be wrapped up ^.^ sorry it wasn't the best conversation >.<' The sigh was a pretty good indication that he had screwed up somehow. Probably bobbled the polite chit chat or something, he had been so immersed in work that his small talk was apparently rusty. “Yeah you're probably right,” He shrugged and gave Cass an apologetic smile. He really needed to get out more often if his skills were slipping that much. Then again it wasn’t like he had the time for anything more than a fling. He also didn’t think his heart was up for anything too deep. He wasn’t the best boyfriend material to begin with so… yeah, maybe this was for the best. As if the universe itself agreed his phone started to vibrate in his pocket. A quick check had Quinn sighing, “Sorry about this. Its work. I’ve got to take it.” It was time to put his nose back to the grindstone, whether he wanted to or not. The young man stood up but before he answered the phone he made one more comment to his erstwhile bench companion. “It was nice meeting you Cass, hope you have a great night. Isis, come on kitten,” That last part was directed back at his cat as he gently tugged on the leash before walking away, slowly making his way towards the park exit. “What's going on Max?” The last thing that was really discernible was him answering the phone. [Quinn exit]

When she thought she might be making headway, everything fell flat again. To make matter worse, he took a phone call over paying attention to her and she barely kept her displeasure from showing before he turned his back.
Once he'd walked away she'd stoop, mumbling under her breath before she too headed off.
There had to be something better than this.
