So why would he, Tenchyu, be somewhere out of the classroom? Why would he go out?
Well--that was simple. He had made a bet and now had to go through with it.
There was a house not a block or so away from the academy that had always looked creepy and broken down. Students murmured about it being possibly haunted, with each other daring the other to go in. A few courageous students, or who didn't believe in beings like ghosts ventured their way in. He didn't hear about any of their stories coming back out. Tenchyu, being the more "logical" mind, thought that nothing eventful happened. They walked in, walked out, no big deal. But that wasn't what others thought. They thought of ghosts, the supernatural, spooky happenings. Things that would make a strong nightmare shudder.
They had to get their kicks somehow. And in a way, it gave Tenchyu an idea to exploit on such a dead day. A weekend, there was nothing to do. No class to attend.
He might as well rope a student into going into a haunted house. Tenchyu turned the knob on the well worn door, it's window cracked and broken. It gave way easily, opening with a loud creak that he was positive the rest of the neighborhood would have been able to hear. He let Ali go in first, nearly bowing as he held the door open for the other freshling before walking in himself.
The place sure was dark. Tenchyu coughed. And dusty. "Do you have a light?" His kumiho eyes couldn't see in the dark very well. The door might have been nice to have open...just to filter in light. The freshling moved to it, jiggling the doorknob. Locked. "I---guess we're stuck here." he ignored the weird feeling that crawled up his spine like a centipede. "Do you want to explore?"
