Rae had only been able to stay in Colorado for a few days before she had to return home. Work would only allow her so long off since it wasn't a blood member of her own family though she had questioned by the look of her emails if she really had any time off. Quinn had been right about how bad his parents were and there was no denying that things would have to change...starting with the favor he has asked of her. "No, i told you the lift is in the hallway behind the stairs goes over there. We are not making the lady of the house wheel into the kitchen pantry to go to her bedroom. Use it to get up there if they are still finishing the carpet cleaning. Wait! Where are you taking that?" Rae had been at their house since dawn. The flight back was not going go be easy so it was her wish to make sure the house was ready for lord and lady. That meant all new changed to make things accessible to their new needs. But accessibility did NOT have to be ugly and an eye sore. Rae had called in all the favors and had everyone working around the clock since Quinn had asked her. Now it was just the finishing touches. All was going just so..."Wait...where is Isis?" And then she remembered the mini lion.

Quinn sighed and absently ran his hand through his sandy hair. The month had gone fast, maybe too fast sometimes, and yet it had also dragged on into eternity. But he was finally back in Destiny City. His parents were able to fly and per their request he had brought them home, sort of. Since their house was not able to handle their current needs they were in the cities best care facility until the house renovations were done, which should be soon since he gave Rae free reign on the project. That’s what he was currently going to walk into actually, a house torn up by construction. He wanted to see how far along they were and to let Rae know they were back. Although his parents really needed to stay in the facility for a bit until their doctor releases them to home care, it meant he could give her a definitive ‘end’ date which he figured she would appreciate considering his last time line was much more ambiguous.

No one on the crew could tell her where the big cat had gone. "How does anyone miss seeing a ball of furry energy go by!" Rae sighed as she headed upstairs, a box of linens in hand for the guest bedroom. She had of course redone the master to suit both their needs but she had also redone one of the guest rooms to be more...custom. she had no intention of taking away the feeling of home so much of the master would remain the same minus a few ease of access changes. The guest room was where she brought in all the bathroom ada requirements. This place would pass any inspection on a hotel level when she was done!. "Isis!" She called put, checking with the contractors in the master before moving on. "Isis where are you!" That was when she heard the thud and turned into another room, his father's study/office. It was a place she hadn't touched but that didn't stop four legged animals. Slipping inside, she kicked the door shut and put the box down so the fluff ball couldn't escape. "I see you Isis..." she joked, sneaking around the desk to find the cat looking out the wind. "Hunting birds again?" Rae sighed, reaching down to grab her lease before she could take off. "I'm going to have to get you out of here before you cause any more issues." Rae chuckled as she started to lead the cat away. That was when she did a double take and noticed an odd pink compact on the desk. "Strange. No one should have been in here." She spoke, reaching out for it before she was suddenly consumed in light.

Quinn walked into a madhouse of work and dust. He expected it honestly but it was still rather shocking to see and Rae was nowhere to be seen which was rather odd. He had expected the redhead to be front and center as a general contractor kind of person. “Excuse me,” he snagged the attention of one of the passing workers to ask where she was, he was directed upstairs but that was as far as the construction guy knew. He got the same general response from the guys upstairs too, it was almost as if she disappeared. Considering how large the place was, and she was hunting for his furry nuisance, getting lost wasn’t totally out of the question. It was only by chance that he was walking past his dad’s study when he heard something. “Rae?” He asked as he opened the door just as he spotted her being enveloped in light. “The hell?!?”

Quote:
Blinking several times over to try and clear her eyes, Aeaea suddenly was looking around the desk for the source of the light. It had come so quickly and right when she had picked up...looking down at the compact in her hand, her grey eyes narrowed. "What are you?" She asked only to then realize the leash she had in her hand was suddenly not there anymore. "Oh hell...Isis!" She called out, turned and stopped as fast as she spun. There in the door stood the reason isis had yanked away from her looking at her with one heck of an expression. "Quinn! I didn't know you had landed."

Quote:
It took him a moment of gopping at the knight standing in his father’s study before he quickly stepped into the room and shutting the door behind him. “The hell Rae? Why? You should know better to do that s**t here! And in view of anyone who comes in the door? Seriously?” He stride towards her and glanced over her ‘uniform’ before skirting her and yanking the curtains over the windows closed. “Will you please power down before you draw attention to this place! My folks have enough issues without being pegged by the negaverse as being order ‘sympathizers’. Unless,” he turned towards her and eyed her once more as something occurred to him. “Was there something you saw or felt that made you power up?” That really was the only reason he could think someone would power up like she did.

Quote:
"Quinn, what they hell are you talking...." She was mid sentence when she looked down at herself. "What they ********!" Rae dropped the largest f-bomb she had ever done since moving back to the city. The compact fell out of her hands, a light thud on the ground as her hands grabbed the end of the skirt coming off her backside. "What the hell is this pink atrocity?" She was doing circles now, as if somehow she would be magically able to see her back. Pearls, fabric, and roses covered her and what the heck was with all the skin?!?! "Quinn what the heck is this? Where are my clothes? And why are you looking at me like you think we are in danger?"

Maybe it was the questions, or the curse, but in all likelihood it was the spinning that really clued him in. He was facing a baby knight, like a baby knight that just awoke. “Who’s cheerios did I piss in to get this?” Quinn muttered as he absently sunk into the closest chair and absently ran his hand through his hair. Could this have been sprung on him because he had avoided his own knighthood duties for so long when he first became a knight? Or because he had been so busy lately that he hadn’t even been going to training. Could this be a cosmic Ha-Ha? One big universal joke on him? “Rae… chill out ok? I’ll explain everything but first you need to listen to me!” The young man took a deep breath and tried to project someone who knew what they were talking about. “You’ve got to think about yourself back in your normal clothes. It might feel like your relaxing some inner muscle, or tightening it, or even as if your just flowing from one thing to the next. It really depends on each person but in general it works on your desire. Wish to go back to civilian clothes. Wish to fade back to normalcy.” He knew he couldn’t push her on this, she had to figure it out herself, but dear lord did he want to shake her until she dropped the magical guise of knight. Every second she stood in front of him in that skimpy outfit was a second that someone could have spotted her aura.

Quote:
"Chill...Chill Out?!?!" Aeaea snapped at him so loudly she was sure others working could hear her. Screw them. "Chill out?!?! How the hell am i supposed to chill out when I'm standing here looking like I walked out of the Moulin Rouge all because i touched...." looking around she spotted the compact, picked it up and basically thrusted into his face "THIS?!?! what the hell is this Arthur? Some sort of sick joke? You want me to calm down then tell me what the hell is going on and where the cameras for the prank show are!"

Quote:
He should have expected it, he should have figured she wouldn’t understand, he honestly should have expected some things to come flying at his head rather then her just raising her voice and nearly punching him as she shoved her ‘weapon’ in his face. He didn’t know how to handle this, he had no clue what to do so he did the only thing he could do. In a rather fast move he grabbed her wrist lightly, the one she was using to shove the little compact in his face, and stood up. “Breath… breath and watch,” With that he broke his own rule and against everything he ever learned he let the magic take over. After a few breaths Quinn was replaced by Havasu Falls, Knight of Pluto, hat and all. “This is no joke, it's not a prank, it is deadly serious Rae.” His green eyes searched hers, trying to spot the moment she believed him because he was risking more then she even knew to show her this. “If you care for my family even a little bit please follow my lead,” He took a breath and released it, letting the magic fade until he was once more just Quinn. “Please Rae. I’ll explain but you have to change back first.”

Quote:
For a split second when he grabbed her wrist, Aeaea was about to yank it back but the look in his eyes. She stood there as still as a board but in the span of a blink she was looking at Quinn...but not Quinn? It was him alright but what he was wearing, what he had just done. She wanted to yank back and throw the compact at him but the way he held her gaze, all Aeaea could do was nod. Then she took a deep breath, closed her eyes and tried to remember what she had worn that day. The shift was as sudden as before and Rae was back standing in her place.

She would do anything to protect his family so if that meant calming down, then she calmed down...sort of. "Alright...." the words were shaky as she met his gaze once more. "I'm listening.”

Quote:
When the skimpy, frilly outfit faded to a much more mundane get up Quinn breathed a sigh of relief. He had no clue what he was going to do if that didn’t work. “The things that happen in this city… the monsters, the creatures, the magic. It’s real. It’s all real.” He gave her a week smile before letting her go and sitting once more. “And now your a part of it.” Jesus Christ, this was why he never wanted her to come back. She was to rational for this s**t show that was Destiny City nightlife. “The news calls us ‘terrorists’ but it's kind of the other way around. The ‘good guys’ are actually the bad guys, and we,” He pointed to them both, “are the ‘fighters for justice and human kind.’ Think, Lex Luthor as president putting Superman on the FBI’s most wanted list except if we get caught we will be killed,” If we are lucky, he silently added. Death really was the least of their worries when it came to being caught by the negaverse, at least that was what he had seen.

Quote:
Rae's now free hand went to the desk. She tried to grab something, anything as she listened to this...this nonsense. For a long moment, she did nothing more than stare directly at him. Then she marched over to a shelf, grabbed the bottle she had filled and placed there with scotch, grabbed a glass and dumped a small amount into it before downing the helping. When the glass his the shelf with a clank, she finally cracked. "You expect me to believe there are monsters running around this city? That there is some sort of make-believe s**t going on?" Okay sure, she had heard the news reports of the terrorist but complete ignored them. They were just still teenagers or lazy people. People she never planned to meet. "You expect me to believe that what just happened to me..." She turned around now, gazing at him sitting there at the chair looking at her, "God that suits you...but not the point. The point is that you are still making zero sense. Monsters? Magic? It isn't real. It's all an illusion."

Quote:
Honestly the sight of the scotch sent a spark of desire through him, the idea of a stiff drink right now sounded like a great idea, but he squashed it. No way would he be slipping down that particular slope again. Being nearly drunk for several months straight was more than he ever wanted to drink again. “Did that feel like an illusion to you? I mean, come on Rae we use to joke about you showing up at my place in a skimpy outfit one day but you and I both know that was definitely not what you were talking about.” He tried to lighten the mood slightly with the lame comment but even he knew it didn’t really work all that well. “If you look hard enough you can find the real stuff on the web but most of its scrubbed by their pr department.” Quinn really had no clue how to explain it to her. Hell, he hadn’t believed it for over a year, give or take, himself before he jumped into a fight he was wildly under qualified for. “You have now become one of the knights of… Ganymede unless I missed my guess. I only know one other and boy is his outfit a lot less revealing than yours but it's got the same symbol over it so I figure it's the same… planet? Comet? Moon? Oh, hell I have no idea what Ganymede is.”

It was tempting to call up Seung to help with this mess since she was technically one of his knights but he wasn’t going to do that to his friend. “See the thing is their is a group called the Negaverse. They basically run the world as we know it, all behind the scenes of course, like one giant secret society. They use people as giant batteries and discard them without a care as to who they were. Most places are under their full control, but here…” He absently waved a hand at the window, that was still covered, that had a rather nice view of city. “Here we fight back. The various places in the universe have manifested magical powers in us, the knights and senshi who live in this insane city.” Damn it, where was a actual Knight or a eternal when someone needed them. He was no bloody-a** teacher.

Quote:
Blank. That was Rae's face as he spoke. She just stared at him as if looking through him before she turned her head slightly so her hair fell into her face. "First of all, Ganymede is a Moon of Jupiter. It largest in fact. Second, whoever joined a group called the Negaverse is already on drugs to even not bust out laughing at the very idea! And Third..." That was when she jerked her head up again to look towards him with fire in this eyes. "If that is the ******** reaction I get for wearing a skimpy outfit around you then you are ******** hopeless!" Knights. Battles. secret societies. It all sounded like some stupid child's book that of course she didn't believe. At the very least she had gotten one thing out of this. "While THAT was not what I had in mind when the topic was brought up, at least I know now not to waste my time with you!" Her feelings on the other hand had been stepped on. The outfit was not to her tastes but it had a sexual appeal to it and his reaction had been to freak out and have a melt down? Great way to help with the self confidence there buddy!

Ignoring him completely, Rae spun on her heels towards the door and yanked it open. Not a word was said as she let it nearly smash into the wall behind it and stormed off into the construction zone.

Quote:
It was Quinn’s turn to gape at Rae as she started in on him. First it was surprising she actually knew what Ganymede was let alone that it was the largest moon of Jupiter, Quinn had to look that one up the first time Seung told him and then promptly forgot it. And then the comment about the Negaverse and drugs which almost had him choking out a laugh but that look she tossed him was bad enough to kill. Apparently being a magical knight of justice was not bad enough, she had to latch onto his joke and take offence to it. “What?” He couldn’t help but voice his own confusion but even then Rae didn’t give a s**t. She just ignored him and stomped out of the room leaving him there sitting in the chair with a bemused, just run over by a truck, look on his face. “What the ******** just happened?” His only answer was a quizzical chirp from his cat who had found a relaxing perch on the top of one of the bookcases.
