You're home alone, minding your own business, when you hear the distinct sounds of doors closing and footsteps moving around the house. Upon investigation (should you choose to), you find nothing out of sorts…but the footsteps and doors continue to make noise every time you give up the search. This happens all night, and you can almost swear you see things out of the corner of your eye. It's a restless night, but come morning everything seems back to normal--except, you still have no idea what was going on.
Halloween was the bomb. Everything about Halloween in general was great. Harley loved dressing up and this year in particular, she was super excited for her costume. She had found a really good Spider-Gwen costume, BEGGED her parents to buy it for her christmas slash halloweenmas gift. Even now, as the house was currently empty, she was parading in the white and red outfit. She had yet to put the mask on but the way the current outfit fit, she didn’t care.
Long dark silver hair cascade down her back as she moved from her room to the living room, swaying back and forth as she carried her charms that were ‘secretly’ hidden under her bed to her little set up work center. She was more excited for the quiet night, with no judgement of her Spider-Gwen outfit and charm making. Her only true responsibility tonight? Handing out candy to some kids but mostly eating it to herself.
As she sat down, ready to break into some charms (maybe for Helen or Austen...little rainbow senshi), She felt a chill down her spine and footsteps in the house. As she had no siblings, and her parents were CERTAINLY not home, the girl got up to investigate. If a robber was trying to rob Harley Jennings, they had another thing coming!
She grabbed her dad’s prized baseball bat, kept in the living room for him to remind him of the glory days and patted it in her hand.
“If you plan on robbing the Jennings household, I’m gonna ask you to make yourself scarce and hit the streets!” Harley sing-songed out as she moved through the house. Though, it was only her own footsteps now and it was VERY eerie. Very eerie and stressing, because she had never really had to be alone with such quietness. Especially on Halloween night.
“Unless you’re a ghost. Which case, I’m gonna say right now, I have a real hard time with ghost. Ya’ll haunting around and stuff, like I can’t do it.” She was crazy for talking to herself right now. Like what was the point except to feel better. “Listen, I will hurt-”
A door slammed and Harley screamed, the sound reverting through her like a gunshot. Her head whipped to her parents room, where the door, once opened was now closed. “What in the ******** man.” She moved slowly, reaching out to the knob and turning it to push it open. Darkness and darkness responded back to her and she moved slowly to flash the lights on. “IF YOU’RE IN HERE-” She rose the bat as the room lights came on and….and nothing popped out. Windows weren’t even open. <******** NO.” She turned the lights off and shut the door and went through the WHOLE house doing the same. Only two more doors slammed on her but by then, she had her henshin pen in her hand and ready for the shift to Seiryuu. Much like her challenge, she looked at the house.
“Ya’ll wanna play with the East winds tonight EH? I will make you feel the dragons rage!” The girl held her pen out like it was a cross fending demons off. Things moving in her corner eye, doors shutting and eventually the girl just said ******** it.
“Fine! Just haunt my house! I have things to do.” As best as she could, she put on disney movies and turned up the volume and made sure that it played over the sound of the footsteps and doors moving around. She didn’t fall asleep till her parents got home at 3am anyways.
