Name: C’or
Age: 38
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Weyr: High Reaches
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Beastcrafter
Physical Description: The first two things people probably notice about C’or is that he’s large, with broad shoulders and a powerful build, though maybe softer in the middle than he necessarily cares to admit, and in spite of his own efforts. (He blames Arcath, but nicely.) The other trait, not necessarily in that order, is the vivid red-auburn of his hair, a vivid shade reminiscent of darkening blood, or as close as human hair tends to get in that direction, with brighter red sparks where it hits the light, though now with the first hints of white in it, though only 2-3 hairs so far. His eyes are a dark stormy blue gray, expressive and usually look as though they might well flash with real lightning, even when his expression is, for a change, placid. He has a few scars reputedly from a wild feline, particularly on his chest and arms, but it seems down to rumor if he’s exaggerated this encounter or not.

Personality: C’or is something of a perpetual storm cloud, he has a sense of presence almost as large as his enormous, bulky bronze, and an tendency to be a bit growly (both literally and figuratively) but he’s less hot headed than in his youth, more inclined to stop and growl his way through thinking about the problem instead of taking it as a point of honor that he must react to every little thing, though he’ll almost inevitably move as though he might react, especially if the subject is whether or not he is qualified for something.

He’s an hard worker, and anything he does he’ll do to his best, but old habits die hard and he does still make it fairly clear, if without quite as much out loud complaints, that he finds certain tasks to be -beneath- him and his partner, though he’ll still do them as best as possible.

Fortunately time has also partially mended much of his tendency to dismiss female riders and women, though in terms of romantic relationships, he’s still cautious and standoffish, and doesn’t want children, afraid that he’ll produce a child who will have as poor a relationship with their parents as he did.

Positive Trait List [At least 3. Determined, Hard Worker, Bold
Negative Trait List Short tempered, Judgemental, Arrogant

History:
C’or knows who his mother is, but at no point tends to know where she is or how she’s doing. A trader who was caught up in a moment of excitement of flights at the Weyrs, C’or, then Conovar, was a souvenir she didn’t plan on, and was happy to hand off to more willing hands and his Beastcrafter father. With an busy, somewhat distracted father, and a very absentee mother who showed up intermittently to hand him a trinket or two to acknowledge his existence. C’or chose to focus much of his blame for an unhappy situation on the parent who was there less often, and focused hard on being as unlike her, or really any woman, as he could manage, latching on to something of a ‘mans man’ philosophy, and enjoying the idea of roughing it and doing ‘tough’ things like beast handling and learning to track in the thought that someday he’d be able to help track and deal with wild felines out to hit the herds.

He was searched almost by chance as they were visited by a female bluerider, one of the few women in those early days he had any respect for, though it was as much for her patient, brave blue as anything else, and agreed to take a chance on standing, going to Western, where he met with Niobet, who aside from being quite pretty, displayed a level of wit and capability that surprised him (more than it probably should have)

A clutch or two after she walked away with Adeth, the proud but increasingly frustrated redhead walked away glowing with pride and probably dismaying some as he walked off the sands with an frankly enormous little Bronze, just like he’d insisted he would. Never mind the other dragon who firmly slapped him with her tail, he had ARCATH and everything was going to be great.

Like Niobet, he put in for a transfer, not because he didn’t think he COULD advance at Western (that would be admitting defeat, and he avoids that as much as possible.) but because High Reaches has a certain reputation for valuing bronzes and golds in a more traditional light, and to a certain degree, C’or finds this to be as it should be. Not that green riders aren’t capable, but someone needs to be in the air long enough to give directions… right?

Other: References to Niobet were cleared with her player <3, the bit about the Feline is a reference to old RP from SOP. He probably pretends it was somehow glorious. It was not.

DRAGON
Name: Arcath
Age: 15
Color: Bronze
Size: 46 (going off his original description as ‘biiiiiig’. (Also round)

Physical Description: Arcath is a big, big, big bronze. Sadly, that doesn't appear to do a whole lot for him, even in a world of 'bigger is better' ... as he's often just not interested in doing things like exercise, or Flights. In fact, it would take a truly exceptional female specimen to get his blood going. His wings are proportionate to the rest of him, but the rest of him is largely fat over thick cords of muscle. This does make him a pleasure to cuddle, but it will certainly count against him in the air. One could even say he suffers a bit in the heat of the Southern Continent, and tends to sleep a lot as a result.

Personality:
There is a good saying that states; "The rule about bears is their unpredictability" and it is certainly proven true with this bronze dragon. A true guardian, Arcath has a mind of his own, that is for sure, but his power is moved only to protect himself, his rider, and those he has accepted into his close circle. His is not a force to be trifled with, but nor is it a power that moves against the currents of life. Akin to the slow drifting of the continents along the surface of the molten core, Arcath's power is slow, but absolute. As mountains rise and fall along the margins of the known world, so to does this dragon's temper and rage. Arcath has a firm sense of self preservation... both for himself and his chosen rider... and his lightning fast judgement during altercations lay to rest any fear that he is the slow and stupid sort. He does not play to win, simply because he does not 'play' ... and any attempts to mold him into marching a pattern he has not chosen himself will result in stubborn refusal and outright retaliation.

On the whole, however, bronze is known to be calm and rational, offering good advice to those who need it. Arcath may be ponderous and grumbly with his actions, but his words are often direct and helpful. He is insightful and introspective in a way that is rare in dragonkind, and it will take a rider strong of heart and mind to handle what can only be described as Arcath's 'uncomfortable' questions. He does not meant to doubt the morals of his chosen person, after all, he just wishes to know them better. That said, he will not tolerate any human or dragon bullying that which is his... be it his own rider or those his rider names friend. He is fiercely protective of his territory, and appears particularly bent on making sure any and all bronze males steer well clear of him, having developed something of a dislike for his metallic male brethren in the shell. When crossed, if the opportunity exists for him to quell the fight with force he will take it... if not he will (quite simply) brood.

Under the command of senior dragons, Arcath will (more often then not) be surly unless boundaries are quickly, and firmly, established. He won't shirk duties, exactly, but he will find ways to wiggle out of them if he can... and he is not above turning his considerable intellect on his rider to convince him to defect for an afternoon of beach bumming. They are already the best, they know it, and didn't they already study that formation? Shards, why should they study extra to make up for the incompetence of others anyway? It will be up to his rider, then, to make sure they make it to Wing meetings on time... but rest assured there is one thing Arcath will not slack on, and that is Thread-fighting. Slow he may be, but he can fly forever, and his flame is more than adequate!

When indulging in downtime, which happens daily, Arcath shows a gentler side to those in his close, trusted, circle. Questions become less pointed and more gentle, and that remarkable insight he occasionally demonstrates manifests as a quiet kindness that reminds those close to him when he's worth dealing with a few brusque put-offs for. He's not always the happiest dragon when woken from sleep, but his is a friendly wallow during the hot lazy hours of the day when time is better spent relaxing. His protective instinct also shows a gentler facet in these moments, leading him towards solutions he might not otherwise have thought of if he cared a little less. Truthfully, Arcath cares very deeply and very passionately, after all... if he didn't would he be able to summon so much emotion when his blood is boiling? There isn't a mean bone in his body, just a colossal skeleton of stubbornness and pride that will not be bent to any will but his own. His rider will know this well, though the bronze himself will take exception to anyone pointing it out that he's a big softy on the inside.
