You're not sure where it came from but somehow you've come into the possession of a small porcelain doll. Despite the happy smile on its face, it's anything but friendly in appearance. The pigtails look suspiciously like real human hair, it smells oddly of licorice and while the flawless, porcelain skin is intact, she only has one blue eye, a gaping hole where the other eye should be. Keeping the doll in your residence overnight produces one very vivid, very real dream of being in the doll's stead, your vision only visible through the empty eye socket. As you sit on your shelf (or chair, wherever the doll was left), you are forced to watch as someone puppets your body in your stead, taking your place. None of your family or friends seem suspicious, especially since you can't seem to scream or talk... being the doll that you now are. When you wake up, the doll has found its way into your bed, only now the hole is gone, replaced with a matching, ordinary looking eye.

It was unfortunate, but Stacey had come into possession of a really awful looking porcelain doll from one of the Halloween parties that had been held by Tom’s friends that she had gone to during some white elephant gift exchange. And no wonder it was given during Halloween. It was creepy as hell! She had wanted to smash it against a wall when she had gotten back to her place, which she was still in the process of moving out of but knew that it would have been hard to find all of the tiny pieces that would have come from such an action.

It was just so UGLY! The hair looked too real, one of the eyes was gone, and it had a disgusting licorice smell. Overall something that should have been thrown in the trash as soon as she had gotten back. Unfortunately, she had gotten distracted and had accidentally left the doll on the shelf near the entrance to her apartment in the living room.

And she had forgotten to throw it away before she went to bed that night. That’s when she had that horrible dream.

Once the dream sleep started to set in, it was like she was seeing through only one eye. She didn’t know where she was at first as the room was still quite dark, but eventually her… eye got used to it and she realized that she was seeing everything from the perspective of the doll! And with no depth perception!

Unfortunately, since she was asleep she couldn’t try to closer her eyes as they were already closed and even the action of it only made her blink in the dream, but she was never able to just stop it. And it was so creepy too. She didn’t like her apartment to be too dark at night, at least where she was sleeping, so in the living room there were no night lights. Which meant that every slight movement or sound was enough to creep her out and wish that she could just get out of the dream already!

It took forever, with her eye darting around, looking to see where any noise was coming from, before she was finally able to shake off the dream and wake up, feeling sweat all over her body. Of course the dream hadn’t been that bad, but it had been enough to where after she had woken up, she immediately got up, grabbed the doll, which was now lying suspiciously on her pillow, a hammer, and smash the damn thing on her porch outside, making sure any pieces were ground up into a fine powder that she could sweep off the balcony.

Of course, the creepy doll would give her that sort of dream. Of course, it would. And after that experience she would make sure that if she EVER got any sort of doll in her possession again, she would immediately throw it in the trash, no matter if it was a gift or not.
