Quote: Event Prompt 3 of ??? As it grows closer to Halloween, you find your sleep to be practically non-existent. If you’re lucky, you manage to get 1-3 hours of rest at best and the nightmares grow worse, almost to the point where the memories of them haunt you during your waking hours. You can’t seem to satisfy your ever-growing hunger and any meat you manage to scarf down ends up being more raw than not. Your skin starts to itch, any scratching causes sores over your body or hair loss at your scalp. What skin hasn't been scratched is turning a sickly pale, almost green shade. Maybe you've caught some sort of virus or bug that's going around?

It was a little over a week to Halloween, and Seren was utterly exhausted. The nightmares were getting worse, every night, and sleeping was getting more and more challenging to happen. Functioning on what was a maximum of three hours of sleep was not proving to be an acceptable option. She needed more sleep, and she was not getting it. Today, she had maybe had an hour and a half, and she was feeling utterly nauseated from the lack of sleep. And also, she suspected, from the fact that she could not bring herself to eat meat that was really properly cooked. She climbed slowly out of bed, her eyes barely able to open, and practically crawled to the bathroom.
She used some cold water on her face, trying to feel refreshed and more awake, before she looked up at herself, because she had hoped it would help. Not only did it not help, it gave her a better view of herself then she really wanted. Gods, she looked so awful! Her skin tone was so... so pale, much more then normal... And there were green tones under it. She looked ready to throw up, honestly, at all times. Her eyes were sunken, thanks to how exhausted she felt, and she kind of just wanted to crawl into bed and die.
Especially when she saw where the hair had come out, and the sores on her face from where she had scratched herself. She did not have enough cover up to make herself look healthy. She was not sure there was enough cover up in the world to make her look healthy, frankly, with how bad she felt. Was she sick? Had a virus gotten her? She did not think so, because it did not remind her of the usual effects... But maybe she was wrong, and this year's flu was utterly ******** up.
She stared at the mirror, and then carefully washed her face with her most gentle cleanser, before carefully pulling her hair back, going out of her way to make sure not to pull MORE out of her scalp. Once that was done, she brushed her teeth, though the mint, normally a soothing smell, made her feel more nauseated for once. She took a deep breath, slowly, and stepped away, going back to her room. She dug out her phone, and began to send out texts to the various tutoring students she had today, her teachers, and finally, Nate, to tell them all she was sick and not available. She added notes with promises to reschedule for her students, glad that none of them had any big tests coming up today, or tomorrow.
Once that was done, she dragged herself downstairs, to the kitchen, and made herself a big bowl of noodle soup, trying to see if it helped. She was barely able to eat it, and shoved the bowl into the sink, before she headed back upstairs. She threw herself into bed, and decided to sleep for the next three hours. Maybe more rest would help...
