The very, very best part about this time of year was the candy. Especially when an afternoon at the mall netted you a whole bag full of the most amazing chocolate bars that have ever existed.
Dinara had already eaten about half a dozen and was glad she had decided not to be holding the bag when she powered up because now as she patrolled she could continue to eat the candy. There was a strange feeling in the air, and for a moment, the page stood still, head cocked to one side, as though she could hear whoever it was that was nearby…
She should at least go and say hello…right? What if it was a friend?
Quietly, Dinara walked closer, holding her bag before her, and when her eyes landed on the bright blue hair, they widened, sparkling with utter delight. “Kanan!” She shrieked, running over and plowing into the boy. The Jedi. “Hi! I’ve missed you! I didn’t know you’d be here, I brought candy!”
She hoped that he was excited to see her, and when Dinara finally pulled away, thrusting her bag at him, her cheeks were bright pink with embarrassment.
“I really missed you.” She said again, as though that would explain away her throwing herself at him. “I hope you’ve been good!”a-disgruntled-dragon As Halloween draws near, a good number of the shops at the local mall have decided to take part in the festivities by handing out candy bars and bite-sized goodies to all of the customers who stop by. You score a fair amount of sweets while you're out and about. After you consume a handful of them, though, you discover you don't feel.. quite right. You can't put your finger on why you don't feel right but soon the side effects from your candy munching come to light. When you sweat, your perspiration is noticeably brown and smells sickeningly sweet... almost like chocolate. In fact, your natural scent has seemed to take on a more sweet approach, as if you were a walking candy bar yourself. You've got no clue which shop handed out the cursed candy but the saccharine effect on you lasts for an entire day, until the candy has made it out of your system.

Mourite - more specifically Ren - always loved Halloween. It was distinctly 'All Hallows Eve' to him, but the dressing up, the decorations, the mysteriousness at night; he loved it all. It was one of the few times during the year he felt truly himself, able to present whoever and whatever he wanted to the world (within reason, 'course) without judgment. 'Its just a costume', 'it's just for the holiday' he'd said on more than one occasion over the years.
Even now, as he patrolled the city, he found himself caught up in the decorations and festive spirit, his powered self just another costumed reveler. He was so caught up, he didn't notice the power signature or the shriek.
'Kanan' let out a startled and strangled cry as Dinara - that naive, stupid, silly, intriguing page - body slammed him into a hug. It took him several minutes, as she thrust candy in his face and spoke entirely too fast, for him to get his bearings.
By the Force this one...
"Do you tackle everyone you know when you see them?" he asked her, unable to keep a smile from his face. He was happy to see her, happy to see her still alive and kicking and... smelling like chocolate? That was. Odd. But, girls used perfume all the time, so maybe that was it. That aside, her bouncy, always giddy mood was infectious, and his smile widened.
"You're in an excited mood today, Dinara. What's got ya so happy?"

“Well! I mean, no not really…but I really like you Kanan so, I can’t see why I would ever be in a situation in which I wouldn’t tackle you. Especially not when I have candy to share!” Dinara couldn’t help but flush at his smile and clung to him for a few seconds longer than was necessary.
“Of course I’m excited! I was at the mall earlier and all of the stores were giving out free chocolate and I got a ton and I just wanted to share it with everyone that I came across tonight but you know, I never really expected to run into you, though now that I have…” She drew in a breath, grinning and tossing her long hair.
“Now that I have I realized that you were the one I was hoping to find the whole time!”
The page tugged on his hand and led him to the nearest bench, sitting down and setting the bag into his lap. “How is your Jedi training going? Are you getting stronger? I think you’ve gotten a lot more handsome since we met last! So, that’s going for you at least…but me, I don’t know if I’ve gotten stronger, but I think I’ve grown an inch or so! It’s the little things, right?”

She was hoping to find him? Mourite raised an eyebrow as he was dragged to a bench and sat down. Was she really so ditsy she thought he was the best thing since sliced bread? And he got more handsome? It was his turn to flush, something he tried to hide with a Iight grunt as he sat down. S He eyed the bag next to her for a moment before speaking.
"Training going well. My master says I will take my Trials within the next year, and I'm very excited for that. Its Halloween season too, which is my favorite holiday. Think I might go as Anakin in Episode 3 for Halloween this year.
"What about you Dinara? How have you been? The White Moon still treating you well?" he asked, leaning towards her slightly with a suave expression on his face. It was too easy with her, too easy to mold himself and shift to be her friend. He liked it, like how little she scrutinized him. It was... nice. Even if she was technically his enemy.

Dinara nodded, eagerly drinking in everything he said. “Oh…that’s amazing Kanan! I’m so proud of you…and I think you’d make a very cute Anakin!”
Even though she was quite sure that at this moment in time she had no memory of what Anakin looked like, she could google it when she got home…and she bet that he was handsome. Though…perhaps not as handsome as Kanan himself was.
The memory of their first meeting still played in her head like a fantastic movie on repeat, and she still hadn’t forgotten that she had given him her first kiss, even if it had been a complete accident.
“I’ve been…good. Missing you. The ah…the White Moon has been fine! Just fine, thank you!” She shoved another piece of chocolate into her mouth and swallowed it quickly. “…Have you found a Jedi who would be interested in me? I still want to become a Jedi too, you know…I keep thinking about it. And I missed you a lot…I just…A lot.”
They could be Jedi together…it could be…oh.
Wonderful.
She shoved more candy into her mouth to shut herself up, but her eyes raked him needily.

She mildly creeped him out, but he did his best to not let it show. She missed him huh? Dinara didn't even know him. He'd given a fake name even! It warmed his cheeks regardless. It was... different knowing someone gave enough of a s**t to miss him, even if that person was as ditzy and excitable as Dinara. He absentmindedly reached out to brush a strand of hair from her eyes.
"A lot of things have been going on, and no one is taking Padawans right now, but I will let you know when that happens," he said as he pulled his hand back. He sniffed, frowning. Something smelled like... chocolate.
Mourite looked at his hand and the frown deepened. His fingers were stained brown. He sniffed them and they smelled distinctly like chocolate. He rubbed them against his thumb, the substance feeling almost like water.
"Dinara... you have chocolate sauce on your face..." the young man sat up, concerned. Something seemed... off.

“Chocolate…sauce?” Dinara frowned slightly, feeling a little flushed. Almost dizzy. Or…tired? She felt strange. Uncomfortable.
“…Is it warm out here, Kanan?” The page reached up to wipe at her forehead, clearly feeling perspiration beading, and glancing at her hand afterwards, she frowned, and then felt utterly sick. “What…what’s going on…?” Her voice sounded as though it were coming from far away and she swallowed hard, the taste of chocolate suddenly heavy in her mouth, just as the smell was heavy in her nose and…suddenly the whole idea of chocolate was just…repugnant.
“I…I have to go.”
She was melting. She must be turning into a chocolate person and now she was melting. Maybe if she went into a freezer…or got a bath or…
“I’m so sorry!”
Without another word Dinara broke into a run, leaving the boy of her dreams, and her half eaten bag of free candy abandoned on the bench.
