Demanthra was humming softly as she sat on her weyr ledge, having sent Monath to go spend time with one of her loves. She had gotten some food from the mess hall and it was laid out near her. She had managed to get everything just right, now she just had to wait for Rhiyn to show up and hope he liked it.

Rhiyn has never expected for Demanthra to invite him anywhere! Much less to watch stars on her weyrledge, but he supposed that was what girls did when they had a boyfriend. They were a couple now. It was weird to think like that. He was seeing the assistant candidate master!
But T’rel had told him not to think like that. “She’s still Demanthra,” he said.
T’rel had offered to take him to her weyrledge on Tyalith. “Soon you’ll have your own dragon, you won’t need a ride.” He said, as he dropped Rhiyn off. “Don’t get into too much trouble, kids!”
Rhiyn looked uncomfortable, and rolled his eyes at T’rel’s words. “Sorry,” he said. “T’rel seems pretty excited that I finally told you.”

Demanthra looked over when T'rel arrived on her ledge, to deposit Rhiyn off for their date. A smile came to her lips, she was grateful to her brother for helping him out. When he spoke about them not getting into too much trouble, she rolled her eyes at him.
"Give us some credit, T'rel. And yeah, well...all of my family kind of knew I had feelings for you. So I guess they see it as a finally moment that we are dating now,"she admitted, rubbing the back of her head.

"Huh. I told T'rel ages ago, too," Rhiyn admitted. Why hadn't T'rel said anything, if it had been hurting Demanthra? "I guess he was waiting for me to say something, before he did." He paused, and gave her a smile. "I'm glad I decided to finally tell you."

Demanthra looked surprised when she heard Rhiyn had told T'rel, but her brother hadn't said anything to her. She knew it had been hard for her, why wouldn't he have spared her? Though, she supposed he really had wanted it to come from Rhiyn himself.
"He probably knew it would mean more coming from your own lips. Which it totally did,"she managed a smile.

Rhiyn offered her a lopsided smile. “I guess,” he agreed. “I’m sorry I hurt you for so long. I didn’t know how to tell you.”
He was such a coward. Afraid of Thread, of death, of how a girl would react to his feelings for her... And he called himself a candidate. Would a dragon ever choose him? He doubted it.

"I guess I didn't make my desires loud enough for you, so I am sorry. I figured you didn't feel the same, so I guess I held back,"she admitted quietly. She wasn't proud of having not been more obvious with her likes, maybe she had been too subtle.

“We both are at fault,” Rhiyn said, and offered Dea a smile. “I’m sorry I made you feel as if I didn’t care for you. I should’ve told you turns ago instead of worrying so much about it.”

“I guess honesty really is the best policy,” Rhiyn agreed, smiling at the kiss. “I should tell you now though, I don’t know anything about romance. Cues and stuff might not help me.” And the last thing he wanted was to upset Dea by getting something wrong. “At least I can practice with you?”

“Tass?” Rhiyn couldn’t help but suggest. He was grinning. The rest of them seemed to do romance just fine. T’rel loved Tyila, and T’ye loved Ash... Ionan didn’t like much of anyone, but at his age, Rhiyn supposed that was to be expected.
“I’ll observe T’rel.”

"Well, I guess Tass could use some work on his..well, delivery. We all know he has a crush, my question is if he will ever admit it to her. Alright, T'rel should be a good one to watch. He has been very gentle with Tyila, which is always needed,"she smiled.

“I’m betting on “no”,” Rhiyn offered, with a smile. Tassiel was a nice guy. He was quieter than T’rel or Ionan, but he expressed himself as well as anyone. “Yeah. Or maybe I could observe Ash and T’ye. But I think their romance levels might be too advanced for me,” he smirked, offering a shrug. They were already onto their second kid! Ash was pregnant again.
“I wish my brother was good at this sort of thing. But he’s pretty useless.”

"One day, I feel he may tell her, at least I hope he will. I know how much he likes her, so maybe he just needs a nudge. As for Ashlyn and T'ye, yeah, I don't think you are ready for that level yet. Honestly, I don't think I am ready for that myself. Aww, I am sure your brother does his best, but not all are great at it,"she reminded gently.
