Event Prompt 1 of ??? You come home one afternoon to find a package waiting for you in the mailbox. It’s a small parcel with only the image of a smiling, friendly jack-o-lantern where a sender’s address should be. When you open the package, a porcelain pumpkin bearing the same smile as the sender’s image falls into your palm. The only other thing that you can find in the package is a small business card with the name Perniciousa inscribed in gold lettering. When you google the name, nothing comes up but you’re pretty sure you recall seeing a new store pop up with that name on the outskirts of the shopping district of Destiny City. It must be some sort of advertisement for the holiday season - neat! The store doesn't look quite open yet but hopefully it will be in time for the holiday!

Erich had been annoyed to find a package in his apartment mailbox, squishing everything else that was inside of it. He hadn’t been expecting any, and when he did get it he either assumed that someone was using his apartment for something illegal, or it was some promotional b*******. Unfortunately for him, it was the latter. If it had been the former, he could have at least called the cops and reported it, possibly making it so that his address wouldn’t be used again.

No, instead it was some stupid promotional pumpkin for some store that he had no desire to ever visit. While Erich may enjoy the various foods that the holidays brought out, he otherwise wanted to ignore them. He didn’t care much about celebrating humans’ achievements or promoting them. He celebrated things like Earth Day, a holiday where you could actually do something to improve yourself and the planet, rather than creating a bunch of waste that was only used for a day. Sometimes a few days if you were lazy enough.

He decided that he would keep the business card and the pumpkin however so that when the store did finally open, he could send in a complaint to them in-person and tell them how annoying it was to receive such things.

He decided that he wasn’t going to keep the pumpkin inside and decided to instead let it stay outside and let it get damaged just to show how much he “appreciated” the store sending it to him. He placed it on one of the small outdoor tables that he kept out there and used a magnet on the fridge to hold the business card.

He hated Halloween. Not for the scariness, but for the wastefulness that come from it. Fun-size candy was the worst of course. Sure, it was better if it was distributed, but tons of people also just bought the candy just to snack on it, which was incredibly wasteful. If they really wanted it they should get the full-size candy instead of the “fun” ones. But it’s not like he could go out and protest about it. It was too engrained in everyone’s’ mind. He was going to make sure that when Halloween came around, he was going to be out in the woods, ignoring all of it.

He didn’t celebrate holidays with his family. He had stopped talking to all of them a while ago and had gone straight into the Army as soon as he was able. He just… didn’t want to be attached to them. To have to continue to go to family events that he had no desire to participate in. He wanted to go out and see the world and live with it rather than waste his time being stuck in the same town with nowhere to go and getting a normal job that would lead to nowhere.

Of course, the fact that he had been forced into the Negaverse had gone completely against what he had envisioned in his life, and he was now part of an organization that wanted to destroy the planet. It was… something he was working on at the moment to get out of.
