Cheomseongdae was standing at the top of the tallest building she had ever stood on the roof of. She took a deep breath, staring out at the edge, from the center. She was not yet ready to move to the edge. She was, for the moment, psyching herself up to that point, getting her heart, which felt like it was trying to pound it's way out of her chest, to relax. This was the kind of thing that she knew she needed to be able to do. She had to be able to face the heights, because it seemed like so much of what the various factions did, they did up ******** me, I can't seem to get the ********' guts up." She suddenly swore, and sank to the gravely surface under her, her head falling back against the wall of the little shack-like space that held the door for staff to come up here and clean, or whatever else is needed. She closed her eyes, head thudding against the wall a few times, frustrated at herself, at her fear, and her inability to force herself to go further. She sighed, and looked at the Signet on her hand. She considered it... and dug into the small bag she had set aside to carry with her when powered up. She pulled out a pen, and some paper, and wrote a note to Gevaudan, then signed and sealed it. Gevaudan Good Evening, Gevaudan. This is Cheomseongdae. I finally got my Signet Ring, as you can see. I wanted to check in with you, see how you are doing, since the night you took me to your Wonder, and maybe talk to you again, if you feel up for it. You seem to know a lot, and I feel like there has to be a lot I still need to know. For instance, until the other day, I had no idea that Nega Generals could teleport. It scared the living hell out of me, to be quite honest. I made it out, starseed intact, thanks to a rescue, but it left me wondering what else I need to know about Negas, and how to not get devoured. Let me know if you have time. For now, I'll just stare out at the city line from atop a building that is tall enough to make me want to crawl under a rock. Cheom

The message came back to her about 20 minutes after. Quote: I'm fine. I'm fine with talking. I'm near the West Gate Bridge at the Grand Steel Building. I can meet you somewhere.

She considered the note, and replied, before getting herself up, and forcing herself to the edge. Quote: Thank you. How about on the roof of the cozy little Tea Shop on the corner of Main and Thirty Third? I think it's about halfway. She hoped that would work, because she LIKED that tea shop, and would happily power down and go in, after they talked. Hell, she'd power down and go in WITH him to talk if he wanted. There were plenty of quiet tables where no one would pay attention to what people were talking about.

He eyed the message. Fair. It was a even split and there wasn't much happening in his area. Turning, he wrote a note back. Dropping down, he did a series of hops and jumps a few times before going for the more level shops, moving one to the other and taking his own pace to get there. Once he arrived, he waited on the roof behind the Tea Shop's front sign. He could smell the bakery and tea from down belong and it was warm and calming.

She read the confirmation, and nodded. Well then. She really had to force herself now. Time to... get back down. She took another deep breath, backed up, and made a running jump to the next roof over, which was lower. It took her a good bit of effort, and fear, but she managed to make it to the Tea Shop's roof, in a fair amount of time. She looked around, for a moment, and spotted Gevaudan. She took a deep breath, as she walked over, enjoying the scents wafting up. They were helping settle her stomach and mind after having tested her limits and her fears. "Good Evening, Gevaudan. Thank you for coming." She sat down on a thick pipe, that was just a little warm, and sighed softly. "So... Tell me... please... What do I need to know about Nega-agents, to avoid getting caught again? I sensed the General, but... I went AWAY from him, because I had no idea he could teleport, so I thought I'd be safer." She looked tired, scared, and vulnerable.

He waved at her, his general disposition different from when he was drinking. Back straight, arms crossed, and expression lucid and bright, he regarded her with a comfortable seriousness.
"You want to know about the Negaverse? Alright." He said, considering what he should and shouldn't tell her.
"Any Negaverse officer can teleport. Even those fresh off the street. Generals can just do it more often. Officers can sometimes teleport with someone else. Like going piggyback on their teleportation. It's a good way to escape from trouble." He pointed out.
"Do you know about startseed pulling or corruption?" He asked her, looking around for a comfortable place to sit after jumping that many roofs to get here.

Despite how scared she was feeling, she found it interesting, the differences between this man when sober and drunk. He seemed... she wasn't sure what the right word was. Calmer, maybe? Less angry, or at least less openly angry? Hard to say. "Thank you." She said quietly, and shifted. The warmth of the pipe felt good, but it wasn't the most comfortable seat, really. Her brows came together, her lips turning down in a thoughtful expression, as she listened to his words. "Huh. So they can teleport around, but... we can only do that to our Wonders? Is that right, or am I missing more information again?" She paused, and snorted. "Swear to whatever gods might exist, we need a 'Things You Need To Know' pamphlet for newbies." Her tone was sardonic, as she considered the idea, and sighed, realizing how unlikely it was for that to be do-able, since Powering Up for the first time seemed kinda random. "I was told they could pull my starseed out of my chest, and... it would kill me. Is that correct? As for corruption... Um. No?"

"Knights have it bad off. You don't get a communication device like the Negaverse right out the gate. You have to find it at your wonder, and if you never went to a meeting, you wouldn't know to do that. And no, knights don't teleport. If we could, I'd have teleported here to meet you."
He found a support beam to the front sign and sat on it, the metal cold even through his uniform. His butt was going to be frozen by the end of this talk, he knew it.
"I'll also tell you that the Dark Mirror Court, another faction of Chaos, can move through full length mirrors. They can't teleport, but they do move this way. It's why if you see a mirror somewhere in Destiny City just out in the wild or out of place, break it." He said with a grim seriousness, stating it more like an order than a suggestion.
"Pulling a starseed might not kill you, but you might as well be dead. Sometimes you are just a comatose husk that will never recover. Unless you starseed is put back into you within enough time, you're a vegetable. Pulling a starseed too quickly can kill you then and there. Its' why you never want a Negaverse agent to be close to your chest. if they can reach in and grab it, then you're done for. A agent even holding a starseed while in your chest can be painful and wipe you out during a fight. Always consider this a tactical move they might do to you."
"Corruption is pouring Chaos into a starseed. Negaverse agents are knights, but instead of a wonder, they have Chaos to get power from. You can become a Negaverse agent if a Negaverse agent reaches into your chest and pours chaos into your starseed, but this is usually only able to be done by high ranking agents. A captain couldn't do that to you."
Shifting in his seat, he tried to get a bit more warmth in his backside. "This works in reverse too. A Negaverse agent can have Chaos purged from their starseeds and they can become knights. This is called purification. This can only be done by someone of high rank." He looked about. "Like Camelot or a Royal senshi."
"The only way corrupting and purification works is if the person is willing. It's by choice. You can't go about grabbing any agent's starseed to make them a knight."

"I didn't know to do it... I just. Found it, by chance." She sighed a little, and looked at her knees, then looked back up. "Wait, there are meetings?" She looked at where he sat, her brows coming together for a moment. "D... D'you want to like. Go get some tea? The shop has some good, private spaces for conversations you don't want overheard, or interrupted." She'd occasionally used it for tutoring sessions, so she was familiar with it's set up. "I mean. If you want. My treat. It's... it's cold up here, after all. And I should thank you for your help." She had no idea if she was breaking some sort of rule by offering or suggesting this. "Dark Mirror... How many Chaos Factions are there? Do they work together?" She noted the way he ordered her to break the mirrors, and her eyes widened. "Y... Yes, sir, I will." It almost sounded like she was responding without realizing it. She nodded at his explanation about what losing her Starseed could do to her, her expression sober and serious. And then the part about corruption... "Oh... OH. Is THAT what that God Spouting General was trying to do. I had no ******** clue what he meant by making the right choice. I thought he was asking me to sacrifice my life to his so-called Saint Metallia." Other than the part where he scared her, her main thought about that man was that he was WEIRD as ********, and way too religious for her to enjoy being around. "Huh. Conversion can go both ways. Good to know." She bit her lip, processing all of this. "So are most Nega knights that converted, or do they get brought over in other ways too?"

He rubbed his shoulders as he suddenly changed from serious to surprised that she was offering to just talk as civilians together. It was a large jump from bumping into someone to knowing their real life identity. There was a moment he paused, glancing at her as he awkwardly debated what to do. If she did try to do anything to him, he could easily do any damage back to her since he would know her identity too. Much easier than her considering his background and experience. She didn't seem the dirty handed sort - as of right now. However, she had expressed a strong opinion about Negaverse officers. If he was going to do this, he probably should keep that to himself.
"Um....." He said, cautiously and with far less confidence than anything he was talking about beforehand. "....sure. We can go down." He gestured for her to lead the way as he moved from his seat to follow her.
"There is only The Dark Mirror Court and The Negaverse at the moment." He assured her. "And that idiot probably has never even met Metallia though I can see how they can think that. It's a massive entity. It probably would seem like god to them."
Someone was drinking the punch too hard over in the Chaos side. Not even he was that delusional in all his years.
"Negavere agents are corrupted. That's the only way. You don't wake up and just feel chaotic enough to change uniforms and your energy signature. It takes energy to go one way or another. A lot of it. Dark Mirror Senshi - they toss people into their mirrors. I don't know a lot about the process. It's only senshi though." He stepped off the edge of the roof casually and landed below with no issue or any sign of pain from the impact. He looked up at her to jump down.

She watched him, and realized how much she might be asking, or suggesting, to him. She hoped she did not offend him, she really did not want that. She bit her lip hard, not sure what to do. Should she retract it, say something like 'Sorry, I did not mean to push in?' or something? She just... did not want him to get cold. And she wanted to thank him, she really did. When he agreed, even if it was unsure, she relaxed a little, because at least he wasn't angry. She gave him a tentative smile, and stood up, heading for the side of the building that had a dark space next to it, a good spot to Power down. She jumped off the building, barely even flinching this time, after what she'd put herself through today, and landed. She moved aside, and set her small bag down, then powered down, back to her normal self, quiet and shy looking, hair braided up and wearing black leggings and a celestial print tunic-shirt, with a deep blue, knee length cardigan hanging open over it. Once he joined her, she replied to the rest of what he had said. "Alright. So two factions, one that can teleport and one that can use Mirrors to travel. Dandy. Annnnnnnd... Hm. Well, he seems a Catholic sort, from what he said and all. He just seems to think Metallia is... a holy being. He kept talking about making the right choice to me, though." She blinked a little, curiously, and nodded, slowly. "So there are no Dark Mirror knights, they're all over at the Negaverse. Got it. They don't have a way to find civs and just bring them over? I can't decide if that's a relief, or disturbing." She lead the way over to the end of the alley, and to the Tea Shop, holding the door for him. It was a warm, friendly place, and welcoming.

"It takes energy to make a officer. You have to recruit someone young, influential, or with some kind of skills. Someone who'd be an asset. You wouldn't just randomly pick up any civilian. They need to be willing to become an officer. Else you're stuck with a lot of recruits who you can't keep in line or don't do anything you ask."
Once she powered down, he waited a moment and then powered down himself. The eyepatch went away to show what, at a glance, looked like a normal green eye to match the other. A burn scar came up the side of his neck, jawline, and up to his ear. He wore jeans, sneakers, a hoodie slightly bigger than needed with a small husky in the upper right, and a jacket over that. His once serous expression changed to an awkward uncertainty, but he followed her inside.
They needed someplace where they couldn't be overheard and he glanced at a far booth. Oh, but she wanted tea. How did this place work?

"Mmm good to know." It was the kind of information that mattered, because it meant that she knew the kind of people they would be AFTER to recruit... or have recruited. She could not imagine why they would want her... Other then to lessen the number of people on the other side. What did SHE have to offer? She wasn't even sure she had much to offer the side she was on. She noticed the details of his outfit, but the way his eye patch disappeared was the thing that fascinated her the most, though only because it showed how much their glamours really did hide. She wanted to ask if he had scar cream, but she did not want to offend... or have to explain why she used it. "You want some tea? Or coffee, they do a decent coffee... and did you want something to eat?" She turned to him once they were in. "I'll go order and all, you grab a good spot?" The booths on the back wall were best, in her experience, especially the one in the awkward corner where there was only one booth, because they couldn't fit anything else in.

"Um... coffee. With cream and sugar." He said, deciding not to be greedy.
"I'll get a seat." He turned, walking away and heading to a booth set off from everyone else in the back. Settling there, he checked his phone just out of habit and then set it down, warning his hands for a moment and leaning back.
He felt awkward. This was awkward. Toren was awkward.
It was easier to be Gevaudan.

"Alright, I'll be there in a minute." She went up to the counter, and ordered, getting a hot chai for herself, and the coffee he asked for, before grabbing a small pitcher of cream and a thing of sugar packets of various natures, so he could doctor it to his tastes. She grabbed the cups, when ready, and went to join him. "Here you go." She slid his coffee and the stuff to doctor it over to him, and settled into a seat across from him, her blue eyes taking in the details of how he was sitting. He seemed uncomfortable, and she wondered if he would be ok with this after all. "I'm sorry if my suggestion made things harder on you." Her tone was soft, and her eyes dropped to the table. "I just... wanted to try to make you more comfortable, stay warm, since you're doing me a favor." She was so new to this, and she kept ******** up. What an idiot she was.
