It’s a small parcel with only the image of a smiling, friendly jack-o-lantern where a sender’s address should be. When you open the package, a porcelain pumpkin bearing the same smile as the sender’s image falls into your palm. The only other thing that you can find in the package is a small business card with the name Perniciousa inscribed in gold lettering. When you google the name, nothing comes up but you’re pretty sure you recall seeing a new store pop up with that name on the outskirts of the shopping district of Destiny City. It must be some sort of advertisement for the holiday season - neat! The store doesn't look quite open yet but hopefully it will be in time for the holiday! Anyone who makes use of this prompt is allowed to save the little porcelain pumpkin for display! Besides, who knows what secrets it may hold! "Halloween's weird," the kitten remarked from her favorite perch in the world; slung across the narrow shoulders of her bonded senshi. She'd tagged along today whatever errands the girl had had to run that day, and was only now really noticing all the decorations she saw littering everyone's yards and windows. There were black cats and ghosts everywhere. Cobwebs stretched across windows and taking up whole balconies. Plaster tombstones turned regular yards in to cemeteries, and there were pumpkins everywhere. It was weird. "What's the bid deal with it anyways?" She'd seen some movies, but that didn't exactly make things any more clear for her. And also, how had she missed all this last year? Reven guessed she'd been more preoccupied with herself than she'd thought. All the more reason to get out there and fix things. "Hey, you're mailbox is open." A paw lifted, pointed towards the block of lockable boxes under a wedge of shingled roof. There were a few of them that seemed to be wedged just slightly open, included Rory's.

Rory had mixed feelings about Halloween.
On one hand the excuse to dress up was nice and when she'd been in elementary school it had been fun to go to the various classrooms and trick or treat and before she had entered high school, her had would take the night off to take her trick or treating which was a treat in itself because her pops worked the late shift and they rarely saw each other these days.
It was one of the first years she really had the money to do any sort of decorating and the second year she'd been in a relationship through Halloween. That meant that she thought it might not hurt to buy something to decorate the apartment.
Reven's question left her thinking and she didn't realize she'd failed to answer until the cat said something else. "Huh? Oh maybe Pops--" Rory stopped, fingers resting on the metal door when she saw a package inside. "That's weird."
Still, she collected it in her arms and carried it into the house. "I wonder if Pops ordered something and didn't tell me."

The kitten gave her girl a curious look, head tilting as she tried to gauge Rory's expression, or read whatever thoughts might be flicking through her mind. She seemed really distracted. A paw shifted out to rest against the side of Rory's neck as a reminder that she wasn't alone. As Rory collected the package the kitten moved again, sliding along her shoulders so she could see better. "Dunno. Is that normal?" Reven still didn't Rory's pops well enough to have made a good guess on normal behavior. "We should open it." Curiosity all but demanded it.

The box was set on the kitchen counter and her frown deepened when she looked at the recipient. The box was clearly addressed to her and she had no recollection of purchasing anything shippable in-- period actually.
Most of Rory's shopping was done at thrift stores or through clearance racks at certain places or places where she could ad match with ease. "No. Pops usually doesn't spend money without telling me unless it's a holiday."
Her father let her handle most of the budgeting outside of the major bills, any other spending was her responsibility. She handled the grocery shopping, household purchases, etc.
"Okay, let me find the scissors," she mumbled, turning her back on the box to find something to open it with.

Reven jumped from Rory's shoulders to the counter when the box was set down, and she sniffed at it curiously, poking at it with a paw before taking a seat beside it to look up at her girl, head tilting as she confirmed that it wasn't anything her pops would have purchased. "That's weird." Expression curiously dubious, the kitten looked back at the package, examining the ship to label. "You haven't signed up for any , like, rewards things have you? Like at a store?" That wasn't outside the realm o possibilities, was it? She fell quiet again as Rory turned to find a pair of scissors. They'd find out what was inside soon enough.

She found the good pair of scissors in a drawer and she padded back across the kitchen with them, blades pointed down before she carefully cut into the tape sealing the box.
"No. I haven't shopped anywhere that I don't normally," Rory answered, closing the scissors and setting them down. Fingers slid beneath the cardboard with care before she opened it. Paper and bubble wrap were pulled from the box and at the heart of it was a small...porcelain pumpkin.
One that looked very similar to the one Akio had received.
Well that was weird.
Rory picked it out of the box so that Reven could see it. "I definitely didn't order this." Her nose wrinkled as her thumb ran across the smile. "I think everyone's been getting these?"

Reven drew in a breath holding it for a thoughtful moment before letting it out in a huff. It looked like they had a little mystery on their hands, one that was make the kitten nervous. If Rory hadn't ordered it, or her dad, where the hell had it come from? As the box was opened she walked a little closer along the edge of the counter, sniffing at a fold of cardboard before leaning back as her girl drew out the bubble wrapped bundle. Her head tilted as the wrap was removed to reveal a little porcelain pumpkin with a wide grinning mouth. "It looks like the ones people are putting on porches, but smaller." She sat, tail flicking at her side as she looked up at Rory's face, trying to read her expression. "You've seen that before?" Another of the smaller ones.

"Yeah," Rory replied, clearly distracted as she turned the pumpkin around before setting it on the counter. Taking a moment to rifle through the box, she found a business card with a single word on it. Not finding anything else of interest, she returned the card to the box and the paper that kept the pumpkin from breaking.
"Akio found one in his mailbox, said everyone in his complex received one." Her brows furrowed, but she busied herself with putting the box in the recycling.
When she circled back, she scooped up the kitten in one arm and picked up the pumpkin with her free hand. "Let's find a place to put this hm?" She suggested, deciding that it wouldn't be hard to display it somewhere for the holiday.
Rory didn't wait for a formal response before she set off to do that with her cat in tow.
