Deadeye was curious, she'd heard that there was a new medicine cat apprentice. She thought about it and it made sense Sunclan had finally reached out to one of the clan and appointed them, as the previous one had been laid to rest. She had wanted to see the newly appointed medicine cat apprentice earlier, but there were always other cats that needed tended to and she wouldn't interrupt their needed time. They had come with injuries and sickness, which she had none of. Her only problems were her thinness and the loss of her eye. She thought about how she had come back with the hawk in her jaws and a rabbit on her back, but missing her eye. Dovetail, the previous medicine cat, had died before her eye was gone. She sometimes wondered her sight out of that eye would have been saved if it had happened earlier. She made her way carefully weaving around the craggy interior of the clan's resting gorge towards the medicine cat's den.
As she approached she noticed several things were different, the herbs that had been collecting at the front of the den had been moved, probably stored further back or used, and the old friendly scent of Dovetail was gone and replaced by a newer sweeter scent. She cocked her head sideways it was strange to come here and not have that familiar scent lingering. She shrugged her shoulders and quietly entered to see if anything else had changed and to see if the new medicine cat apprentice was in.

The scent of mint would instantly hit Deadeye once they entered; Littlepaw's natural scent. Shuffling could be heard and herbs were lined neatly against the walls of the den. Littlepaw hadn't expected a visitor, made clear when she could be spotted crushing a few berries at the end of the den. Her head snapped up and she tossed a glance over her shoulder to the visitor, ears alert.
"Deadeye?" Her tone was quiet and soft, although surprise held in it. Deadeye was not a usual visitor. She had a few clumsy cats she saw here and there and she had a mental list of the cats sick or closing in on needing her help. Deadeye was not on that list. She pulled away from her task, absently licking the last of berry juice from her paws.
"I'm still settling in. There's been a few herbs that needed replacing, and some missing. It's a lot to do..." She trailed off thoughtfully, wondering how Dovetail had set up the den in her prime. With her death the herbs had time to rot in place... she almost wished she could have seen was a 'real' medicine-cat den was supposed to be like.

Deadeye took a look at the den in full before answering the little apprentice. It was neat and tidy, different from before, but it seemed to fit the little cat. "I was a bit curious to see who the talk of the clan was. They boasted a new Medicine cat apprentice, but didn't leave a name." She was blunt in her words, but not in an unfriendly way. "I see Sunclan chose wisely from the look of things." as she spoke it was in a calm soft voice.
She had a thought come to mind, that maybe she should have her eye seen to, to see if there was something worse than just the blindness and scars. She moved closer towards the apprentice to ask a simple question. "If you have no pressing matters, would you mind taking a look at this eye of mine?" she sat down in front of the apprentice awaiting her answer.
