Gev didn't usually indulge much while in uniform. Even now, the last time he drank had wound up with him sleeping with his enemy. Still, the siren song was hard to ignore when all he wanted to do was keep his mind quiet for a bit. To stop his thoughts cycling over Leto, the dmc, Wyatt, and his own purification.
Luckily it was easy to steal alcohol from crooks and he sat on a roof with his back against the wall looking out to the lights of DC drinking. It was brisk out but his uniform and the whiskey was doing wonders.

Cheom was up on the roofs again, making herself face her fear of heights... From what she had seen so far, the high roads were very important, very useful, to someone in this business, and she wanted to be able to deal with them as best as she could, as soon as possible. It was still a terrifying experience, and she hated that she had to do this to herself, but she refused to give in to her fear. She was not going to be a child, bound to the ground by her lack of courage. She was also practicing using her sense, like Arthur had told her, so that she would not be taken by surprise by anyone. Because of this, she sensed someone up ahead, with a 'familiar' power signature, at least in the sense of being an Order signature. It was a few roofs over, and would require some jumps... She made herself do it, however, even if by the time she got to the stranger, she was sweating and a little shaky. She looked at the man, for a long moment, her nearly instinctive fear of a man who could be stronger than her almost winning... For a moment. "Ah. Hello...?" She asked, tentatively.

He could pick out signatures in an instant and he had been hoping no one would care about some Knight on a roof. He was wrong, and he watched the ping-pong ball of a first tier knight bounce his way over to him.
When they shower up, he wasn't the least bit surprised. Not getting up from his spot, he took two fingers and gave a small salute in her direction. "Hey."
He took another drink from the bottle. "You look out of shape."

Cheom had been about to introduce herself, when she saw the booze, which unnerved her a little, and then he made a personal comment, which made her flush in irritation and offense. "I'm not out of shape, I'm afraid of heights! And new to this!" She snapped, embarrassed by his observation. She actually was fairly fit, because she ran regularly, and hard, even before she powered up, and was doing weight training lately. She knew she wasn't out of shape! She took a deep breath, let it out on a count of three, then said "Look. I'm Cheomsongdae, Page. I'm new, like I said, and trying to learn all this..." She gestured vaguely with her hands. "STUFF... and confused as hell by it, because so far the people I've had to help are a senshi and a Mauvian, who don't know that much about Knights. So if I'm 'out of shape', it's because I don't what the ******** I'm doing." She sighed. "Anyways, I'm guessing you want to be left alone with your... small friend, so..." She started to back away, thinking she had the worst ******** luck.

He whistled and raised his hand. He snapped twice and then pointed beside him for her to sit. "I'm not going to bite you. If I wanted left alone I would have moved the second you started heading this way."
He waited for her to move. "It's Gevaudan. Knight. Welcome to the force. Senshi don't know s**t about even themselves. Don't rely on them. Just because they are order doesn't mean they are on your side."
"So what do you need to know?"

She sighed a little at the whistle, and took a slow breath, then moved over to where he was, and settled down, a little hesitantly. "Fair enough, I suppose." She eyed him out of the corner of her eye, thinking about what exactly might come of this. "Um, a pleasure to meet you, Gevaudan." She was being polite, as ever with someone she wasn't sure about, choosing not to comment on the second half of what he was saying. Nix had been kind to her, and while he was obviously confused about some things that he wasn't experienced with, he had done his best to help her. "Almost everything about being a Page, I guess? I know how to power up and summon this... useless thing..." She gestured at her weapon, tucked into her belt. "And am learning how to use my ability to sense where other powered up folks are. But... beyond that, I feel useless and confused, like there's a lot I'm missing." Her hand, which did not have a Signet on her fingers, was waving around a touch, to emphasize her confusion.

He stared at her, looked at her barren hand, the complete confusion across her face, and went to take a longer drink.
"Alright. Basics then. You're a knight. Your power comes from the Code at your wonder....wherever the hell yours is at. Your wonder has a piece of the Code, which is what powers all knights. Have you met the Code? Probably not. It's a glowing scroll....light....thing. Not the best voice you've ever heard either. You'd think magic powers would have something.......smoother." Maybe sexier, but nope. The Code sounded smug.
He leaned back. "It's how we have power. Everyone draws from some power source. The senshi have their planets. The Negaverse has Chaos. Your wonder if your base. The place you draw from." A hand waved vaguely into space.
"Got that?"

She pulled her knees up to her chest as she listened, her brows furrowed with serious concentration. "I... What IS a Wonder? Beyond a power source, I mean. No one has explained that. And how the hell do I go to it? You say that like I can somehow just... Poof there." She looked like someone trying to understand but having a hard trouble believing all of this.
"I haven't met... The Code. That sounds like something from my computer, honestly, but I'm going to hazard a guess it's nothing like a computer code, since it apparently can talk."
She paused, sighed, and stared out at the city. "I sound like an idiot, don't I..."

"A wonder is a place. A place you or whoever was you in the past had their station as a knight. It's where you swore yourself to way back then or whoever have that job way back then that you now take over. Could be you from hundreds of years ago. Could be someone who was just doing your job as protecting your wonder. Who knows." He took another sip of whiskey.
"And you hear it. You get a saying stuck in your head."
He held out the bottle out in front of him as if toasting the sky.
"I pledge my life and loyalty to Ganymeade and to Gevaudan. I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine!" He said, overdoing it on being serious and then frowning. "Or whoever you come from and your wonder is."
"It's bullshit, but it gets you to your wonder. It wants you to go there so you can see what a shithole it's become while you were away."

"A place... Huh." She sounded fascinated, and also curious. "So I say what sounds like a silly TV show Oath, and can be taken to my Wonder, which... I guess shares my name with me, based on what you just said?" She had heard a weird phrase going through her head, recently, but she had been suspicious about it... Things were too weird, ever since the Wand had appeared in front of her, and she was suspicious of things that 'appeared' without warning. At least this one seemed to be one with an explanation. "Hmmm. Wonder what mine has turned into, all these years. And... so you're saying I could be... a reincarnation of a Knight of Old, then?" She sounded fascinated by these drips and drops of information that the young, probably at least tipsy, young man was providing her. Well, she thought he was young, he was certainly not very tall, and seemed slender to her. But he could be ageless for all she knew.

He was staring off into space before blinking a few times and realizing she was talking. "Right. Yeah. Just....this is easier."
He placed a hand on his knee and heaved himself up to his feet. "Come on. I'll just take you there. I got nothing else to do." With his free hand, he held it out to her.

She blinked, startled, at the hand, then shrugged, and stood up, stretching out a little, letting her muscles loosen up, before taking it. "Alright, then... Show me what this is all about." She did not even take a moment, possibly foolishly, to think about the fact that she was letting someone who had been drinking whisky, neat, from the bottle teleport her who knows how far away. She just decided to trust him, since he was a knight... And he had a ******** clue. She didn't. Maybe not her smartest moment, but there it was.

"Right. Wonder. Got it. One sec." He took another drink and then capped the bottle before putting it in his jacket. "I don't want to drop it." He explained.
He took her hand again, somewhat firmly, and focused. It took a moment, and then he opened his eyes. "Sorry. I was thinking about something. Serious this time. Here we go."
In that moment, the world rippled away and they were pulled from the rooftop. It took a moment before they were in someplace new. Around them were spires and old Gothic architecture with wrought iron gates and cobblestone streets. Crumbled statues dotted the area as rust and plant-life took over cracks and dried ivy climbed up abandoned buildings. The town was quiet, devoid of birds and any sounds of life. Some windows were broken, doors left handing open to knock against their frames whenever a gust of wind rocked them.
Behind them a large, sharp cathedral stood, it's doors open and insided destroyed.
"Welcome to Gevaudan!" The knight said, waving to the dilapidated town. "Ain't she a beaut." He said sarcastically as he swung the hand he was still holding back and forth.
Aria Starstone This of bloodborne but with a bit more light and no murderous townspeople and dogs.

She blinked a little, watching him put his booze away. "Whatever floats your boat, Gevaudan." She, personally, did not see the appeal of booze, but wasn't going to argue with anyone about it, either. She just waited, her hand resting in his patiently, and her brows raising a touch as he seemed distracted. His comment, though, made her wonder if he was ok. She did not ask, or push, because it was not her business if he did not choose to make it her business. And that was when the world went, in her mind, strange as it rippled away, and she was trying not to freak out... It was good the trip was so quick, because it kept her from panicking. She stared around, blue eyes HUGE and shocked at the strange place she found herself in. She took in the details, and found herself thinking that it might have once been a very beautiful town. "Mmm... It has the bones of beauty, really. I can see how it must have been lovely once. A pity that time has done that to it. But still. This is fascinating."

"NOPE!" He said, continuing to swing her arm back and forth. "Ganymeade ******** it up. Starved all the people out. Then they revolted and people died." He said in the same manner a child with no concept of death might tell a story.
"Anyways, wanna see my knight. This way!" He turned about and headed into the open church. Walking past rotten pews, he stopped at the end where a pile of ash stood. There among them were pieces of armor and ash covered swords.
"There they are!" And he nudged his boot to kick a helmet across the floor. it clanged against the floor and hit the back wall, causing dust and ash to fly up into the room around them. "Deader than dead."
Waving the ash cloud away, he walked on the cracked tile-work below them as he flopped down into one of the still standing pews.
"Oh right. That's the Code." He said, pointing at the glowing orb in the back of the room near the podium.
