Pao -
The living room looked oddly empty when he walked in. There was boxes all over the places, as well as a few other things that were piled up and ready to be packed into boxes once they were ready. There were still a few that lay flat on the ground in one corner of the room. Nate gave a sigh and glanced around, hoping to see Seren...somewhere. She'd texted him the date and he was off, so there he was. Happy to help her move. Or...well, happy to help but with mixed feelings about her actually moving.
"I'm here!" he called out as he closed the door behind him. "You just about done, or need some more help with the actual packing?" He made his way across the room, first taking a second to peek into the kitchen, then weaved his way through all the stuff to the bedroom door. He gave a polite knock on the door that was wide open, but didn't peek inside. "You decent?"
Aria -
Seren was busily folding up the last of her clothing and sheets when arrived, so she didn't hear him come in initially. She was softly whistling as she did so, a cheerful little tune to help her stay focused and excited about the move, her third in four years. Moving sucked but it would be worth it, that's what she was convincing herself over and over. Even if it meant moving further from her closest friend in this city. She'd sent warning to her brother already, so he knew, now, and would apparently be coming to visit. She'd told her other good friend, too and here she was. Moving day.
When he spoke, though, she smiled broadly and called out "Yeah! Totally decent, you can come in." She put the sheet in her hand into the box next to her. "Mostly done, just getting these last few items all packed away. Could you, maybe, do a cabinet sweep to make sure I didn't miss anything?" Her tone was hopeful and grateful all at once.
Pao -
When he got the OK Nate peeked his head inside, lips curling up in their usual small smile when he saw her. It'd been a few days so she was a sight for sore eyes. "Cool, just saw a few boxes still folded up so wasn't sure. And yeah, I'll do a sweep. Any place I shouldn't look?" Because he had something like that, a private cabinet with private things he'd rather keep to himself. No prying eyes allowed. He didn't wait for her reply and instead stepped inside to start the initial sweep; it seemed easiest to start on the room she was already inside and working on.
"So, you excited? You sound pretty happy. I'd be exhausted and grouchy. Hate moving. I've only moved once since I got to this city, and it was from a grimy motel to my place now."
Aria -
She had her secret stash but THAT had been safely packed away, under the first batch of clean sheets, and the box said Sheets! On it, but the exclamation point was dotted with a star. It was the only one with either, too, so she wouldn't unpack it around anyone else. "No worries about that! Anything embarrassing should be safely packed." She didn't find lady products embarrassing, so it didn't occur to her that he might...
But those should have been packed too.
"Mostly, yeah! I admit I'm tired of moving... Third in four years... But this move will be to the nicest place I'll have lived in, so it's a good thing. I have moving, though, too. It's a lot of stress and worry."
Pao -
"Mostly stress and tedium," he replied, but still shot her a smile. "At least it's to a nicer place, though, so there's that to look forward to." He quickly rifled through the now empty drawers and such, and when he came up with nothing he nodded toward her. "This place is clean, I'll head to the other rooms to give everything a once over, then I'll start putting things in boxes."
And before she could reply he did just that. He started in the bathroom, which was a quick deal. No unmentionables to speak of, or anything else for that matter. "Bathroom's clear!" he called out before moving on. The kitchen was much the same, as was the living room, and soon enough he was putting together a cardboard box to start putting stuff into.
"So still no word on who your housemates are gonna be?" he asked, again peeking his head into the bedroom. "Sorry, just kinda curious. Always gotta be curious about that kinda thing since, y'know, they're strangers. Never know what they'll bring with 'em through the door."
Aria -
"Yeah, mostly stress and tedium, but don't forget the moments of "s**t THAT BOX WAS HEAVY OW MY FOOT" and all." She said that in a silly way, but it was clear that she'd definitely done that one at least once in one of her moves.
By the time he had finished the check, she was done and had everything closed up and hauled out to the living room. "Awesome, thanks again for doing the all clear. I'd have to find that I'd forgotten something." It wasn't like she owned much, after all. "And no, not yet. I guess I'll go around and meet them once I'm totally moved in and unpacked. I'm hoping none of them bring anything too serious."
Pao -
He snorted as he started putting some things into the box in proper order. Heavier things on the bottom, lighter things at the top. "Can definitely relate to that," he chuckled, watching her for a moment before continuing to pack. "And no problem. Sucks to lose stuff, right?" He finished off one box and started on another; there wasn't much left so it wasn't going to take too much longer before they started on the harder part of moving--getting everything out and into the truck.
"Me? I hate losing socks at the damn laundromat." He curled his upper lip at the memory of losing one half of his favorite pair some months ago. He wound up giving the other half to Remy to use as a makeshift ball-slash-chew toy and had replaced the pair since, but it just wasn't the same. He sighed and glanced over at her again.
"Hopefully nothing too serious," he repeated with a nod. "So. Once we're done here, we moving the couch first?”
Aria -
She began to carry the boxes from her room out to the carefully organized so I she had set up. Heavy stuff was in a single-high row at the front, and then medium weight in a double stack behind that, and then the light stuff stacked at the back, so that it could be put onto the truck in a logical and organised fashion. "It totally sucks to lose stuff, and chances were higher for me when I didn't have help. I don't have a license, so I'd have had to do a lot of back and forth on the bus, then figure out something for the furniture."
She paused to give him a bright and grateful smile. "You've really saved my a** on this one, honestly, Nate. When I moved from Jersey down to here, I had needed to save for MONTHS to afford to pay for a mover. Thank you." She passed him, and gave him a warm shoulder squeeze, though she leaned a little then pulled back, like she was almost about to kiss his cheek before realizing that might be awkward.
"Ugh socks. And they never get lost in pairs, so you always have a freaking solo sock that matches nothing you own. Meanwhile, your plastic container lids seem to multiple, so that you have more then you have containers, and will end up swearing you never saw that damn lid in your life before." She shook her head. "Sometimes I wonder if the socks somehow transmutate into the lids."
She got the last couple boxes into the stack, then turned to consider his suggestion. "Yeah, then the bed." He had seen it for the first time, today, so he might not have noticed, but it was a single, solid piece, one of those sleigh bed, other then the drawers in the base... One of the reasons she splurged on it when she saw it in the second hand shop. It saved her on storage. That, and it was the only queen size they'd had at the time.
Pao -
He was working on what would probably be the last of the boxes when she leaned in for a side-hug. As usual when it came to her, it wasn't an entirely unwelcome gesture. So he let himself smile a bit, then he blinked at the way she casually leaned for a moment before pulling back. Odd...but sure. He let it go without much thought and went back the box.
"No problem. I'm just glad it was my day off. And right? For me I get lots of the containers and the lids go missing." The hazards of packing lunch, maybe? Either way he was always tossing out perfectly good lids because of that. He closed up the box as she laid out their game plan, then nodded.
"Sounds like a plan." With that he stacked the last box where it belonged before turning to the couch. "Let's get this sucker outta here then. You want the top and I'll take the bottom?"
Aria -
She leaned back against the wall for a moment, just taking in the room as it was for one last time. It wasn't like she was super fond of the place, but there was some good memories here, nonetheless. She'd have to go through the area to check on that giant fluffy cat occasionally, make sure he hadn't gotten himself lost again. His human who came to get him had seemed unsurprised, which made her think this was not an uncommon occurrence.
"Mmm next time we both end up with a collection, we should compare, see if any of the weird lids I get and the weird containers you get match up." She snorted a laugh at the idea, amused that it could happen, but also thinking that she now knew there were far weirder things in this universe, so why the hell not?
When he spoke, she moved to one end of the couch, and considered his plan, then nodded. "I suggest we take the elevator back up each time, though. Don't want to kill ourselves." She had a lunch made for them both in a cooler to one side, too, because feeding people who helped you move was traditional, according to what she read.
Pao -
"We really should compare before we toss lids or containers, just to be safe." Though when they'd see each other next, he had absolutely no idea. He still had perfectly mixed feelings about all of this, and while they hadn't been super close it was still a closer relationship than he had with most everyone else that was even remotely part of his life.
When she went to one end he went off the other, glancing down first before crouching down to see where he could safely grip the piece of furniture. "Elevator up, cool. Smart and cute, aren't you?" he said, tone light but honest. "Lift on three. One...two..."
Aria -
She chuckled and grinned. "I'll text you when I amass another collection, then." With a wink, her eyes sparkling with humor. She had plans to make sure this friendship they'd been building wouldn't fall through. She liked his company too much for that, so there was not going to be a chance of it. She'd find reasons, if needed, and food was still a good one.
When he called her smart and cute, she almost didn't grip the couch in time, her cheeks blushing bright red. It had never occurred to her that he might think she was cute! But she managed to get her hands in the right place just in time, and when he said three, she lifted up. "Alright... I got a good grip, Nate. Let's do this."
Pao -
If she faltered, Nate didn't notice at all. The lift went smoothly so he simply smiled at her enthusiasm before carefully leading them out the door. Thankfully the stairs didn't wind so it was a straight shot down to the first floor, so he readied himself before taking the first step backwards down the stairs. "If you need a break, lemme know. I'll do the same, just in case," he said through a slightly strained voice. Walking backwards wasn't an easy task in its own right, but down the stairs? Yeah.
"So at your new places, how many flights of stairs are we lookin' at? Two? Three?" It was a house so he highly doubted it'd he any more than three. Still...some houses were different. It was always good to know so one could brace themselves.
Aria -
"Will do. And good. Don't want you breaking something, just to help me get my stuff out." She took careful, slow breathes, much like she did when she used the weights now, because control was key to not ******** this up for either of them. She followed him out and to the stairs, making sure to guide gently when he got too close to a corner or sill, so that he didn't get hurt.
"It's big, but... Two stories I think? Plus an attic but I'm on the second floor, so... One flight up should be all we need to manage." She'd gotten the keys to the front door, and her own room, so she wasn't worried about being locked out, at least.
When they got close to the top step, she began watching carefully, and in time to warn him, she said "In three steps, you'll be at the top stair." She was going to do her job as the person who could see more with caution.
Pao -
"Oh, sweet," he murmured, mostly to himself, when she answered his question. When the warning came he glanced down as best he could, then started their slow trek down. There was no way he was going to rush this; he might end up flattened by the heavy piece of furniture if the both of them weren't extra careful, and getting pancaked was not part of the plan. "Thanks for the warning, by the way," he said after a few steps. And then he went silent to focus a little more.
It took some time and a few breaks but they eventually made it to the bottom unscathed, and when she finally touched down he started toward the front entrance of the building. "Almost there, you still okay?" he thought to ask as he caught her eye for a moment. Thankfully he'd had the forethought to prop the door open before he headed up to her apartment, so getting outside and to the truck was easy.
Aria -
"Of course..." She murmured back, and then focused on the trip, warning him whenever it seemed appropriate, but otherwise quiet the whole way down. It wasn't exactly an easy trip, but she hadn't expected it to be, because couches aren't exactly light wait, and 6 flights of stairs were a lot of stairs. She was breathing a bit heavy by the time they got to the bottom, even with the breaks.
She glanced up at him as he spoke, and considered, then gave a short nod. "Let's just get it to the truck, then take a break, have a little water, yeah? Sooner done, the better." She followed him out the door, and to where he had put the truck, then worked with him to get it inside, and properly placed at the back. Once it was done, she hauled the water bottles she'd attached to her belt out, and handed him one, before cracking open her own to drink. "Thank goodness the only other really heavy thing is my bed." She murmured. Her small chest of drawers, her kitchen table/desk, the chairs... All of those might be unwieldy but they were generally light. And the chairs, and other smaller items, could be put in the elevator and sent down to the bottom to meet one of them waiting.
Pao -
He was taking deep breaths by the time they were done, slow and steady so his lungs could catch up to his body's oxygen demand more efficiently. He shot her a grateful smile when she handed him the bottle, then promptly open the bottle and took a couple of long swigs. "Thanks," he said once he had finally caught his breath. Nate leaned against the truck, resting his weight a bit on the bumper so legs got a bit of relief.
"One more, then it's the easier to carry stuff," he said with a nod. "We can do this. Could count as a small workout, y'know." Not that he would skip the gym, but it could count. "Before we leave later, you wanna see Remy? Might be a while before you get to see him again."
Aria -
She was sipping her own when he spoke, so it took a moment before she replied. "Of course! I don't want either of us dehydrating, after all." Seren gave him a quick smile, before taking a good long drink, then capped her bottle off and reattached it to her belt. "I got a few more, chilling in my cooler, so we won't have to worry about running out."
She settled herself on the step up, for the momentary break, sighing a little and hoping this would be the last move she had to make for a good while. "Yeah. I suggest, with the chairs and boxes, we load up the elevator, send one of us down the stairs to wait at the bottom, and then text the other to send it down. Less trips that way, I think? And yeah, between carrying it up and down, on both sides, I'd say it's at least a small workout."
Honestly, it was probably going to be the equal of one of her usual workouts, if not more, given that she was still pretty new to weight lifting and all. His question, though, had her brows lifting, then a bright smile crossing her face. "Yeah, I'd love to see him! But remember not to hesitate to call me and ask if you need a sitter, right?"
Pao -
The promise of hydration was a nice one to have, and Nate took a second to appreciate her thoughtfulness about it. "Good to know," he said, smile lingering and brightening his expression some. He took a few more sips as she went through the rest of the game plan, and it sounded good to him so he made no objection. Instead, when she answered his question he nodded a couple of times.
"I will," was all he could get himself to say. He'd never invested in a relationship of any kind before so it was hard to say if he would ever be the first to reach out to ask for a favor. Usually the favors he asked were for his co-workers to swap or split shifts with him, but this? It was easier to just knock on her door to ask than call and have her go out of her way just for him, so...hm. His smile faded at the thought, so he diverted his attention back to the task at hand.
"Anyway, you ready?"
Aria -
She looked pleased at the way his smile brightened, and straightened up herself, before she stretched and sighed, not because she was unhappy, but because it just felt good at that moment. She did, however, catch something in his face... the way his smile faded, maybe, or something, just before he went back to the subject at hand. She considered for a moment, then moved over to him, and put a hand on his forearm.
"I'm only one text away, you know that, right? And you can text me anytime you want. Even if it's just to chat or you're bored or something." Her tone was gentle, and her eyes were serious, because she wanted him to know she meant what she was saying, that she wasn't just saying it to make him feel better. "Any time."
She then nodded, and added "And yes, I am ready."
Pao -
He regarded her for a long, quiet moment, but didn't comment. The best he could do was offer up a the usual small smile as he briefly covered her hand with his own. He gave it a little squeeze before pulling away and straightening himself out. His mixed feelings about this move seemed a little less mixed now, but he could sort through that once they got all of this done.
"If you're ready then let's get to it. Furniture doesn't move itself, yeah?" He stretched out a little before leading the charge back inside. And shoving the surprising revelation that came from that brief moment they just shared.
For the first time in his life, or at least for as long as he could remember (because who could remember anything from before they were 6 or 7 years old?), he was actually going to miss someone.
Aria -
The squeeze made her smile, a slightly soft smile that made her feel better, a bit, because at least he felt comfortable enough to do that. Whatever was going on, she was sure things would be ok between herself and her friend, and that was what mattered, in the end, right?
She nodded at his words, and followed him into the building, heading for the elevator with him. When they got there, she hit the button and leaned on the wall. "Furniture doesn't move itself, no, but we do. Once we get all this out, we'll both feel better, cause we can take a break."
She had no idea what was going on in his head, but she wanted to make sure her friend was doing ok.
Pao -
Nate gave a slight nod as they headed up. "Yeah, a nice extended one before we unload everything at your new place," he said, then after a beat added, "after lunch, I hope?"
The elevator dinged before she replied and so he waited for her to step out before following, and sure enough they got to work. Her game plan worked perfectly and after another hour and a half or so the truck was loaded and locked up, awaiting for the two of them to hop in and get on the road.
For their break, though, Nate had opened his doors and offered up his place for them to eat and regain some energy for the rest of the move. Plus Remington was there so it was a two birds type of situation. His thoughts from earlier had since ebbed to the back of his mind, and he was working on setting the table for them now that they were inside. Remy was busy running himself around and around Seren's feet, clearly very happy to see her, which brought a smile to Nate's face.
"I think he's gonna miss you a lot," he chuckled as he set two glasses down. "He was at your place, what, once or twice a week since you started dog sitting?"
Aria -
Seren grinned. "After lunch, which I have ready. We can eat before we leave, if you want, or drive over, eat, then unpack. Whichever you prefer." She popped out of the elevator, and got to work with him.
It was a good lot of work, but worth it, because they got it all done and she was ready for a nice break. Since he wanted to eat at his place, while they visited with the doggo, she grabbed her cooler and followed him back up, setting it on the table while he got stuff. She found herself laughing hard at the antics of her favorite dog friend, watching his circling. "If you slow down, you goofy boy, I can pet you, silly!"
She glanced up at Nate's words, and smiled at him. "I'm gonna miss him too. But we'll find a way to make it work, even if it's not as often, since it won't be as convenient for you. I refuse to do without your friendship, or his company." She glanced back down at Remy and leaned down to give the goof butt some good rubs, not thinking anything of how her words could be taken.
Pao -
Friendship. The word made him hesitate but he did his best to hide it behind a quiet smile before he went on with setting up the table. If he had a choice he would label them with something that wasn't so fleeting in his experience. Friends, even family, had come and gone in his life. No relationship outside of work was ever permanent...so there was a part of him that doubted.
He got the cooler once the table was set and turned to Seren. "So is it food we should heat up, or...?" he asked, pointing at the lid of the cooler.
Meanwhile Remy was happily yapping as Seren gave him lots of love and attention. The pup couldn't care less what his owner was thinking or feeling. He was just obviously very happy around a familiar human friend. Remy gave a happy bark as he circled around Seren again before flopping over onto his back, very clearly demanding some belly rubs.
Aria -
"It's all stuff to be served cold, since I didn't know where we would be when we were eating!" She glanced up at Nate and grinned, then went back to the silly boy, her eyes bright with happiness at how eager he was to play with and be pet by her. There were few things in life better then a happy doggy, and Remy was her favorite happy doggy.
What Nate would find, when he opened up the cooler, was a bowl of salad. It had some of her roast chicken, chopped up, mixed in, plus lots of good leafy greens, carrots, and some home-made garlic croutons. There was also a small tub with a home-made blue cheese dressing, and for dessert, some chocolate cupcakes. There was also a small container of iced tea, alongside the water bottles.
"I hope it's satisfactory?" She asked, hopefully.
Pao -
Nate's expression brightened when he opened the cooler, and at her question he shot her a bright, grateful smile. "Beyond satisfactory," he replied, then pulled the items out and set them on the table, making sure to take off all the lids and only setting them aside after taking a mental count. No one was losing a lid on his watch.
"Table's ready," he said once it looked presentable, then pulled her seat out for her. "Whenever you are, I mean. You know that little guy; give him a little attention and he'll never leave you alone." At that Remy yipped, almost like he knew exactly what Nate had said and retorted with a, "Got that right!"
The brunette could only smile as he headed for the kitchen sink to wash up a little more. "We can leave whenever, so no rush."
Aria -
She smiled back, and moved to sit down, letting Remy move to where he could sit next to her. She was able to reach down and pet him, from there, and she was quite content with that, though she glanced up at him and said "Thank you!" With a sweet smile, for him pulling her chair out. It was a small thing, but sweet of him.
"And like I'd ever want him to leave me alone, really! Though I promise to be good and not let him beg me into giving him bits of my food. It might be tempting, but I've learned to control myself when cute faces beg." She had needed to do that with her brother, and for a moment, her smile dimmed, but she moved past it fairly quickly.
When he went to wash up, she leaned back into her seat and used some hand sanitizer to clean off her hands for the moment, but otherwise just waiting for him to return. "And that sounds good, Nate."
Pao -
He took his seat across from her, smiling appreciatively at her comment about not sharing people food with Remy. His diet was pretty well controlled and Nate liked to keep it that way, which was another reason he wasn't big about dog walkers or dog sitters. At least until Seren came along. It was interesting how much in his life had changed since they met.
"Thanks again for lunch," he said, still smiling until his focused turned to the food. He filled his plate with the salad and poured a modest amount of dressing in comparison to the greens, and then he dug in rather heartily. He gave her a thumb's up while he chewed through his first bite.
"Really good," he said after swallowing, eyes focused on the food. "Really, really good. As usual." And then he took another bite, and then another. He was just about inhaling the food, really.
Aria -
She waited until he served himself, then got her own salad, putting a reasonable amount of dressing compared to salad mix, and then poured herself some of the iced tea. It was iced mint-green tea, so it gave a small buzz and had a nice cooling flavor to it. She'd lightly sweetened it with honey, so it wouldn't be overly sweet.
"You're welcome. It's nice, having someone to eat with." It helped her, on days when her past bugged her, to remember that she was the one in charge of her diet and she was allowed to eat proper meals, and it was NOT too expensive. She began to eat, slow compared to him, but she smiled, watching him devour his food.
"And glad you're enjoying it. Sometime I have to have you over when I'm making my roast chicken, though, so you're not just getting as cold strips in a salad."
Pao -
He swallowed the bite he'd been chewing as she spoke, then poured himself some tea before taking a sip--and a deep breath. "I can relate to that," he said, "about having someone to eat with. And the chicken's fine, don't worry about that. Honestly, your food's always good." He left it at that and started chowing down again. It wasn't long before his plate was clean, and he settled back, contentedly sipping at his iced tea.
"Honestly?" he started, eyeing Seren curiously as he took a sip. "I could nap right now. Or at least just flop onto the couch and vegetate for a while. You?"
Aria -
"Well then, when you're free of an evening, please let me know? We can try to meet up to eat together when we both are available, even if it's just like... take out, though I do like cooking." She gave him another smile, and then laughed about the second half. "I know it's fine, I just meant you should get a chance to try it fresh. My roast chicken, with the spice blend I created myself, is kind of my pride, and I just want you to see what it's like warm out of the oven."
She blinked at his suggestion, and tilted her head thoughtfully, considering. On the one hand, the truck had all of her worldly possessions tucked away inside of it, and it was a risk. On the other, it was locked and alarmed, and a nap sounded amazing, before they had to go undo al the work they'd just done. "Mmm yeah, a nap sounds awesome. Maybe, when I finish, an hour long nap?"
Pao -
He blinked, still curious but this time more because whether she realized it or not her invitation sounded very much like she had just asked him out on a date. When she kept on talking he dismissed the idea and finished off his tea before he sighed, nice and full and satisfied. "If you're planning to cook it sometime just let me know?" he said, eyes closed but smiling in her general direction.
Her compromise on his suggestion for a nap was met with a nod when he finally opened his eyes. "Works for me. Lemme know when you're ready to leave, then," he said, eyes resting on hers for a moment. "Like I said, though, no rush."
Aria -
She hadn't really thought about the fact that what she said sounded like a date invite, because she did not think he was thinking about her in that way. Honestly, if she had known, she would have never phrased it that way, because she would be too nervous to suggest such a think... Even if she thought she would like it. She smiled, though, at him and nodded. "I will, then! I promise to text you or call as soon as I am planning to make it again, next time."
She nodded at his words, and got back to eating, then chuckled. "Planning to save your cupcake for later?" She had noticed he hadn't eaten his yet, so she was curious. She kinda hoped he wasn't planning on passing on it... She was proud of her baking skills, and so far he hadn't tried them. "And I will."
Pao -
He opened an eye when she asked about his cupcake, and his one-eyed gaze shifted from her to a cupcake. "Saving it for when there's a little more room in my stomach," he replied. And then he sat up almost immediately afterward, gave something some thought, then reached for a cupcake. "Or not. This is good..."
Much like the salad Nate more or less inhaled the cupcake, and after pouring himself some more tea he slowly drank until his glass was empty and the cupcake was completely washed down. "Really good, damn. Thank you, seriously."
Aria -
She nodded, understanding, when he said he was saving it for later... and then burst out laughing at his sudden change of opinion. "You are silly. But I'm glad you're enjoying it... I've always been better at baking, even, then I was at regular cooking."
She managed to finish her salad, and watched him a little more, chuckling softly. "Let me know if you want me to bake you stuff in the future, things you can take home to have as treats or something. I would happily do so. Home baked goods are so much better, in my opinion." She considered hers, then said "Later, I think..." Before she got up to drape herself on a more comfortable spot to take a nap.
Pao -
He smiled when she laughed, not minding that he looked a little silly in front of her, and nodded along as she spoke. "I can do that, sure," he replied to her offer of free baked goods. It almost made him feel a little more hopeful about not simply being cast aside like day-old bread. So he stood and stretched out, then moved over to his spot on the sofa. Remy seemed to take it as a cue and followed suit, quickly hopping up onto the spot beside him and making himself comfortable.
"Good boy," he murmured, eyes soon falling on Seren as she got up as well. "You'll fall asleep on this thing if you're not careful," he said, but he nodded toward the empty spot beside him. "I fall asleep easier on this thing than I do on my bed, just sayin'."
Aria -
"Good." She gave him another bright smile, glad to know he would call on her for treats. It made her feel good, because it was another way she could connect with her friend. She watched Remy, amused, as he followed Nate, and found it utterly adorable, the way they curled up together.
"Mmm I mean, fallin' asleep is the point of a nap, so that's a good thing." She meandered over, not rushing in any way, before flopping down next to Nate. "Mmm gonna set 'n alarm though, so we don't sleep too long. We don't wanna have to be finishing up getting my stuff in the house at midnight... Someone might complain, or something." She did so, setting an alarm for an hour and 10 minutes, allowing for time to get comfy and fall asleep, then grinned at him. "And I can see why y'fall asleep so easy here. It's a super comfy couch. Much better then..." She interrupted herself with a yawn. "Then my own."
Pao -
He smirked, fighting down a yawn almost as soon as she finished yawning. "Good point," said the brunette, voice a bit quieter as he closed his eyes to take that nap. "And good call on the alarm. Just make sure there's no snooze button." He was out pretty quick after saying that, as was his pup, and the apartment fell silent for an hour and roughly ten minutes until the alarm went off.
