Event Special Prompt 1
You come home one afternoon to find a package waiting for you in the mailbox. It’s a small parcel with only the image of a smiling, friendly jack-o-lantern where a sender’s address should be. When you open the package, a porcelain pumpkin bearing the same smile as the sender’s image falls into your palm. The only other thing that you can find in the package is a small business card with the name Perniciousa inscribed in gold lettering. When you google the name, nothing comes up but you’re pretty sure you recall seeing a new store pop up with that name on the outskirts of the shopping district of Destiny City. It must be some sort of advertisement for the holiday season - neat! The store doesn't look quite open yet but hopefully it will be in time for the holiday!

All things considered, Toby really liked Halloween. Costumes were always great fun, and free candy was definitely a plus. Of course he liked costumes, he went to anime conventions and dressed up at those. Halloween was just the time when everybody was doing it. And what kid doesn't like free candy?

Even with that in mind, though, he viewed the month of October with a certain...trepidation. He'd moved to Destiny City in October of last year, and that was a series of increasingly bizarre situations that he really couldn't explain.

Of course, in November, more Bad Things happened, and one Really Really Good thing went down: He became a superhero! Well, you know, not like Superman or something. More like...some weaksauce Marvel hero...but luckily that was still more than enough. And it also meant that right now he wasn't outright afraid of what might happen. Just that he was expecting weird crap to go down.

And lo, he was not disappointed. He got a package in the mail today with an odd return to sender address: A pumpkin. Sort of a neat logo, all told, but still...what?

After receiving it from his mom, who didn't think much of it--he bought things online with his own money now and then, and was the sort of Wise Grown Up to decide she doesn't want to know what sort of things her teenage son was collecting if he didn't want to talk about it--he took the package to his room, where he set it down on his desk.

It sat there for a few minutes while he tried googling about it. Bit vague to do, so in the end, he shrugged to himself and muttered, "Eh, what's the worse that could happen?"

Immediately, he regretted saying that, thinking that's a perfect way for the world to bite him in the butt...but he still opened it.

It got a gentle shake briefly, which told him nothing, then he grabbed a pair of scissors and carefully cut it open. Leaning back slightly, he opened the box and...nothing jumped out to eat his face. So he leaned back over it, and peered in. Packing material held its secrets for only a second as he just reached in and pulled out...a porcelain pumpkin. The face it had was familiar, and he quickly remembered that it was the face on the shipping label.

"Huh. Weird. Cool, though," he said to himself, and the pumpkin.

It got placed carefully on his desk, and he dug around in the box for a moment, to see what else was there. No other sculptures or anything, but there was a business card that read, Perniciousa. No website, no phone number, no address. Just...that.

He googled that too, of course. Nada. He scratched his head, frowning at it, and then shrugged.

The next thing to do was to show his mom, see if she got it for him or something. She had not. Ever the calm sort, it didn't freak her out or anything...in fact, she suggested maybe one of his friends was feeling generous.

He'd have to ask around in school tomorrow.

Until then, he set it on his window sill. Free halloween decoration!
