It was raining out - again and Keely was appropriately curled up on her living room couch watching the tv, even as lighting flashed and thunder rolled. It was all rather nice but she was chilly, a bit too chilly, and deciding a blanket was needed she stood up and shuffled towards her bedroom to grab one of the blankets off her bed. Since the weather, or more importantly the temperature, had turned she had added two more blankets to her bed for added warmth. While she was pulling a blanket off her bed, the nice heavy top one, she heard an odd sound .Well, it wasn't odd but it was unexpected. It shouldn't be.
The sound was of her bathroom, in the hallway, opening and closing. She only knew it was the bathroom door because it creaked a bit. The wooden boards of her apartment were then heard making noise, right across her kitchen. No one would be there. Derrick could have come over but she hadn't heard the front door and he'd have said something, he would have called out a greeting.
"Not Derrick..." But then who or what?
Moving from her room, blanket tossed onto her couch in passing, she hurried her way to the kitchen where she spotted - nothing. While looking around, wondering what had made the noise, she heard her own personal bathroom door opening and closing and opening and closing...and more footsteps then in the living room. Moving to check on that, even as thunder rolled and shook her windows, she still found nothing.
It was nearly half an hour later when she'd made up her mind. She'd spent the time moving about her house looking for the cause of the sounds, while lightening flashed and thunder rumbled, trying to find whatever was in her apartment. She was going to Derrick's. That decided she grabbed a duffel bag and loaded it up with bed clothing, clothing for tomorrow, and a few other little odds an ends including a bottle of wine she had been going to indulge in later in the night. She'd been going to watch a movie, on her own, with a glass or two of wine.
With everything packed she headed out to the parking garage for her building, locking her door behind herself, she made her way down the parking garage where she loaded her duffel into the backseat and climbed into the drivers side. Starting the car up she took off heading for Derrick's place. She'd surprise him.

Derrick had taken advantage of the rainy days by filling out a few calligraphy orders that he had taken. While it had taken hours to do, he had eventually finished them and the rain still had yet to disappear, which left him with nothing to do other than read or surf the internet, watch tv, lazy day stuff in general. For someone so active though, it was like torture to him. He might as well have just slept the whole time instead.
He had been thinking about going over to Key's to see if they could hang out, but leaving the apartment was slightly difficult as he would have had to walk all the way there. Not something he wanted to do, though as the days kept going he was just about to call her and see if she was okay with him coming over.
About the only thing keeping him sane at this point was the fact that he worked most of the day, so he didn't have a whole lot of waiting when he got home. But it would be nice to spend a cold rainy day with someone else...

Unlike Derrick, Key had a nice small compact car and had put it to use tonight. Not wanting to remain in her apartment, not with those sounds, she had driven herself over to his place. The rain was at this point a downpour, soaking through everything including her shoes, she hurried into the building and headed up to his floor. She figured she'd surprise him by just turning up at his door, he was most certainly home from work. it was late - really late. While normally she didn't go out this late, just because there wasn't a lot to do this late, she wasn't about to stay home tonight.
When she got to his door she stood there for a moment, dripping wet, and raised a hand to knock on the door. "Derrick..." Calling out, hoping he wasn't sleeping or something since it was late. She didn't want to wake him...but she also didn't want to stay out in the hallway or return home. She was hoping to get inside...

Derrick jumped at the knock on his door, dropping his phone in the process. He was about to yell at whomever had done it while he was reaching under his desk to retrieve the fallen device when he heard Key's voice behind the door. Which then caused him to hit his head on the underside of his desk. He cursed silently to himself, retrieving the phone, and making sure that he would miss the desk when he got out, and quickly went to the door and opened it.
Even though he expected her to be behind the door, it was still a surprise to him. "Key! I, wasn't expecting you!" He said, though he moved to the side to let her in. "You can put your stuff anywhere. I was just about to call you and see if you wanted to do something, though I guess I don't have to do that now." He held out his arm in case she wanted to give him anything to hang up. "Is there anything I can get you? I have coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or cold drinks if you want them." He struggled not to ask the obvious question of 'why she was here'. He didn't often get visitors, in fact she had been the only one recently, but usually she called or texted before coming over, so he wondered if anything was wrong.

"No, you don't and thanks. I can't stay in my apartment tonight." Simple, if not lacking a bit in information, and right to the point..typical for her. She wasn't one to beat around the bush, not really, she didn't have the time for that. Unzipping her duffel bag, fumbling about in order to do so, she pulled out a bottle of wine. "I was going to have some while watching a movie at home...plans got cancelled..and here is safe." Since she wasn't so sure about her apartment at the moment.
"Wine...coffee...and yes I do mean both. A movie of some kind perhaps." The last part wasn't needed but drinks would be nice, she was rather cold thanks to the downpour outside.
"You don't mind if I get changed first though? I'm rather soaked...I'll explain while I change. I'm sure you want to know what's going on." Smiling as she finally moved to kiss him gently. Of course, all the talking and business first then the more social, and enjoyable, things.

Well now he started to get worried. Did she feel unsafe in her apartment? Was it more than just a leak in the bathroom? He nodded to her. "All right, I'll make a pot of coffee and get some wine glasses out. All the movies I have are in the stands near the TV if you want to look through them. Otherwise I have a few streaming services." He said it in a distracted way, since he did notice how soaked she was...
Anyway! "Yeah, go ahead and you can put your clothes in the dryer or just let them hang." He replied. He was lucky enough in that he had a washer and dryer in his apartment. A lot better than going to the laundromat. He was just about to move to go and star the coffee when she kissed him and he responded in kind, which made some of his worry for her disappear. Hopefully it meant that whatever was keeping her from being in her apartment for the night, that it wasn't too concerning.
He sighed when they stopped. "Yeah. You just relax and tell me when you feel like it." He said. It was kind of interesting that she would go to him to talk about such things, it made him a bit proud that she felt as though she could trust him. And... he knew that he could trust her too.

"Thanks." Smiling she reached out to comb her fingers through his hair before turning to head for the bathroom, her duffel with her. It was while pulling off her clothing that she decided on a fast, though hot, shower in order to warm up some. The chill from being outside and getting wet would get her sick otherwise, she was sure of that. Once she was dried she let the door to the bathroom open, so the stream could leave the room. That was when she started to talk.
"Remember last year with the big spiders in the city?" She questioned, though didn't give much time for an answer. "I was staying at my parents for a few days, the water went out at my building. I heard nose on their roof and went out to check...nothing. But with the webs and the sound...I'm sure it was a spider that night. Tonight my doors sounded like they were opening and closing. I could hear footsteps...but no one was there." And she didn't trust it, didn't trust it wasn't something similar but clearly not spiders. Something else...something not human or at least not normal. While she spoke she was drying off and pulling on a comfortable pair of pajama bottoms and a long sleeve shirt. Socks were pulled on and she came out toweling her hair dry.
"I don't want to run the chance of running into whatever is causing the noise." And she had figured here was the safest place to go - the only place in her mind. She didn't think to go to her parents...or a co-workers or a friends. She thought of here.
"I hope you don't mind if I spend the night...and tomorrow." Maybe longer.

The coffee had just finished pouring as Key opened the door, so he was able to catch what she had been saying. He shook his head when he remembered the spiders. He was there too, and that had been creepy enough. No wonder she didn't want to stay at her apartment. If it was spiders last time, who knew what it could be this time. Maybe giant cockroaches. Or MORE giant spiders. Either way, he understood why she didn't want to stay at her apartment for the night. He wouldn't want to stay there either. "That would freak me out too Key." He said, trying to get the memories of the spiders and maze out of his mind.
He wasn't sure how the media spun it, but it made it seem like all of those who had been at the event had been crazy in some way. Like some sort of hallucinogenic gas had been released in the building and yet they all saw the same thing. It was pretty pathetic and yet the masses were still unconcerned.
"No wonder. Of course you can stay for as long as you like Key." He wanted to joke that if she stayed for over a month they could consider her a tenant, but decided to keep quiet. He looked at her as she came out. "You look good Key." And he meant it. "Coffee is ready. There's sugar out and some types of cream if you don't like black coffee. And the wine glasses are on the counter too with the opener so whenever you want to open it, it's all ready." He walked over to her and gave her a hug. "It's all right. I know this month is weird. Like chaos has more power. Like all of those scary stories were true because of it. And scary stuff happens. Maybe we can find a youma and dust it to feel better tomorrow or something."

"I had hoped you'd understand. You know how the holidays have been lately...and I don't trust it. It's too close to Halloween." As much as she loved the spooky holiday she was starting to distrust it, and dread it's approach. "I wish we could figure out the holiday problem...what's causing it all. Most of it seems unrelated. Skin color changing, giant spiders or bats...cute biting bunnies and iced over doors and more. I wish we had a clue how to stop it." Or at least to predict what was going to go wrong.
"Don't tempt me - I'll just move in." She said, only half joking. She was half, more more, serious. The idea was tempting, very tempting, she wouldn't mind moving in at all. There wouldn't be the issue of being busy, too busy, to spend time together. There also wouldn't be the problem of not wanting to leave their home to visit, or do things, because it was too cold or it was pouring out. They'd be in the same place.
"Mmm." Sighing happily, letting the other hold her, she let her arms drape over his shoulders. "Thank you. I feel better being here. I really do. I'll get some coffee in a few." She liked being here right now, in his arms. "You know..." Venturing, slowly, she decided to push on with the idea...with the words. "Would it be such a problem if I did just move in?" There, she had asked and put it out on the table. Now she hoped she didn't scare the other off. Just incase though...she went to get him a drink, wine for this, while she got herself a coffee. Some sugar and a good bit of cream. Offering him the drink as she waited, hoping he wouldn't be against the idea.

"It does make you wonder if all of those pagan rituals and things that they practiced in old times were because of it. Perhaps it's always gone on, but we just haven't realized that it's chaos that's behind it. But that still doesn't make it any easier to stop." Or figure out why it was happening. From what he could tell, he swore that even some Negaverse agents were caught up in these problems too, as if they were really totally unpredictable... in a weird way, chaotic.
Then Derrick heard her say something that didn't quite register in his brain at first, but when it did his mind went blank. She... really wants to move in? Was all that he could think. He certainly wasn't against the idea but just... wow! That would be such a huge step! But that meant that they wouldn't have as much trouble seeing each other, they could go out and do things more easily... there were quite a few advantages to it! And he certainly didn't believe that if they did... break up, that they would be at each other's throats about it.
He only snapped back to reality when the glass of wine was in front of him, and he realized that Key had offered it to him. He gladly took it, took a large sip of it, and sighed. "It's a really big step in our relationship but..." He looked at her smiling. "I wouldn't mind it. If you truly do want to live together." It wouldn't be such a big deal to him. Though hopefully if there was anything that bothered one of them that the other did, they could just talk it out. "I would like you to move in but... would you want to move in here or get an apartment together?"

"Maybe...I don't think so but how knows. There has to be something causing it all, I just wish we knew what." Then it could be dealt with, or at least ideas could be formulated - even if they failed. At least it would be a step forward. Here it felt like just being at the mercy of some unknown force. "chaos...like the Negaverse? or Chaos as in chaos...that is just nature and a part of everything?" Because she doubted it was the Negaverse. it was too random and they didn't gain anything. There was no energy collecting, no big attacks. it was just...random.
"My lease is up soon, next month, so I'd have to renew...or I could move in here. I don't mind moving in here. Your bedroom is big enough and the apartment is nice and cozy." And in the summer, and warm weather, she did prefer to be out more than in at least during the day time. In the winter a small cozy feel was nice - warm in a way. "I think I could move my things in without killing the space here. But if you want a place together would be fine...just nothing too big." She liked small and cozy, even if some might think it cramped. She was all about comfort and she found that in smaller places. They felt more...she didn't really have a word for the feeling. She just hoped he understood what she meant.
"It would be a big step but I think it'll work. We won't have to worry about not seeing each other in the fall and winter...or when it's raining or snowing out. No cold nights spent alone. We can more easily have date nights...in or out. I don't see a downside to it." Hopeful blue eyes met the others blue eyes while she took a sip of her coffee.
"I can talk to my land lady if you want and start packing."

He shrugged. It might be one explanation, but Key was right, it could just be... something else. Who knew. Not everything could be explained just because the Negaverse was around. He took another sip of wine, glad that he had something that could go down his throat right now.
"I can talk to my landlord then to put you on the lease if you truly want this. If you don't mind my apartment that is. And I can always get rid of some stuff if I have to. Though I have some storage if we need to use it. I don't want you to have to get rid of anything that's important to you so if my apartment isn't enough then we could go and find another one." Only now was his mind finally realizing that this was happening and his heart started to race. He didn't know if it was from the excitement or fear or both, but he could feel his blood pumping a little bit.
He had more of the wine.
"Yeah... all of those are true. And I wouldn't mind it at all. Date nights would be easier..." He just didn't want to add that they might break up. It wasn't something he wanted to think about. He put down the wine. He felt like he was feeling everything now. Including his empty stomach. "Whatever you want Key. I would love for you to move in, or for us to find some place together." He said, trying to convey that this is what he really wanted.
Giving her a smile he said, "I don't know about you, but I'm kind of hungry now. If you want we can get something to eat?"

"I don't think you'll need to get rid of anything. I wouldn't want you to anyway." She would manage to fit her things in also, they'd make it work. She wasn't the sort, thankfully in her mind, who put herself above her boyfriend and wanted him to accommodate her. This was a balanced thing, he wasn't losing his stuff so she could fit herself and her things in. "We'll try here and see how it goes - if everything fits. but I'd like to try here first." Rather than shopping around for an apartment, it hadn't been something she'd enjoyed the first time around.
Taking a gulp of coffee she moved to set the cup down, reaching out to pet the others cheek gently. "Food sounds good...but it's pouring out. Any take we could safely get...something close by?" She didn't want to make a delivery person go too far, too much of a risk to them. She also didn't want to go back out into the rain either.
"I can start moving some things in this week...clothing and other things so I can sleep here while I move my things here." Rather than sleeping at her place. She would move her clothing here and live here while moving her things in. It was a nice idea, to her anyway, so she wasn't alone and they could be living together just a bit sooner.

He really didn't want her to give anything up either. "Well, we'll make sure to make room for anything that you don't want to get rid of. I don't want you to have to shrink down just because you're moving in." If they were to share an apartment, it would mean sharing it. So both of their things shouldn't be overcrowding the other. "All right then. I think we have a plan." He replied, giving her a smile.
When she touched his cheek he momentarily forgot about the food, but then quickly reminded himself of it. "Yeah, I have a list of the places near me. Closest places to me are less than half a mile away at the top." He said, moving away from her hand, which he was disappointed with having to do, and moving to one of his drawers so that he could pull out the list.
"There you go. And I'll help you move. I don't want you to do it all by yourself, not that you can't. I just would like to help it get done faster if possible." The idea was exciting, and he couldn't wait to have it happen so he could see what it was like. He took a quick look at the list. "I'm up for anything. What about you?"

That was good, that they'd make sure everything fit, she was sure they could make it all work. There should be enough room for her to move her things in, save for her bed as it wouldn't be needed, and still have a comfortable apartment to themselves. She was, admitting, a bit surprised this was happening - that he was agreeing. She was excited though, and impossibly happy about it. It seemed something good was coming from whatever had been haunting her home, not that she believed in ghosts and such.
"That's good. I'd rather the place be as close as possible, less risk of someone being hurt delivering to us." She would feel bad, guilty even, if someone delivering to them got hurt on the way. Leafing through the menus given to her she settled on one of the nearby places. "This one." She said holding up the menu, Greek food. "Take a look and see what you want. I'll call in the order. Greek isn't too heavy and should be pretty good"
Going to pour herself more coffee, still feeling a bit of a chill from earlier, the white haired female found herself sitting down on the others couch. "Mmm, I'd like that. It would make it a lot easier and quicker. Maybe one we've settled in we could think of some sort of small pet as well?" To make the whole thing feel more complete. "I mean if that interests you. I think it might add to the homey feeling a bit. At least more people say they do." This was going to be good, really good.
Pulling out her phone to dial up the Greek place she set to putting in her order, hoping he had an idea in mind for himself.
