Whimsical Blue While out and about, you manage to obtain a cute cooking pot designed to look like a witch's cauldron. It's a little eccentric but wanting to get in the spirit of things, you or a loved one obtain it and food is prepared in it, be it for a personal or social gathering. Only... anything made in this pot tastes startling of candy corn. Regardless of whether you finish your homemade treat, you find that no matter what you eat or drink, everything for the next twenty-four hours tastes exactly like candy corn. The strange thing is, this only seems to happen once. After you've given it a good scrub, it doesn't seem to have the same effect ever again.
The finding of the cauldron had been an act of fate, or... whatever. She was planning on cooking, and she thought that... it was cute! It would be great for cooking! It was black, like a cast iron skillet, but etched with some lovely little patterns, and it had a certain aura about it that she thought her dinner guest would enjoy. Sid was supposed to be coming over, get some food, play some video games, possibly stay the night, if the mood struck, the usual. Dinner was not going to be anything fancy, just some Kushari- macaroni, chickpeas, rice, lentils, and crispy onion. A spicy homemade tomato paste, lots of garlic, vinegar, and some extra spice on the side if Sid was so inclined.
As she was cooking, it smelled fantastic- just like home. The cauldron was an adorable little touch, and Shar tossed the noodles in there as they finished. The sauce she made in another pot; she'd throw it in the cauldron in pieces, so Sid could enjoy a nice-looking finished spooky product. Her taste tests were all normal- she added her spices carefully, making sure it was flavorful without it being painful, and when it was done, she poured the sauce over the rest of the dish.
The sound of footsteps in the foyer let her know Sid had arrived- she didn't have a key, but she knew where the spare was hidden, so had probably just let herself in. "You got here just in time for dinner!" she called out into the main room, leaning back to be ready to peer at her guest, "And it's going to be awesome." Simple, but awesome. Shar wasn't going all out on a video game night, but neither was she ordering pizza again. This at least pretended to be healthful- it was vegetarian!

A grin worthy of the Cheshire curled across the face of one Sidney James, lips and eyes blackened in the spirit of the season. It worked well with her bright hair, which delighted her and she sniffed appreciatively as she peeked around the corner into Shahar's kitchen, gripping the wall with black fingernails. "Mmm, looks good." She purred, though she meant more the tall woman beside the cauldron than the food. As ever, it held little interest for her, but it pleased Shar to cook, and what pleased Shar pleased Sid. The shorter woman popped out from her cover and all but bounced across the space, almost drowning in the skeleton hoody she wore over brightly patterned, and spooky, leggings. Halloween as the best time, and Sid happily indulged in it. Her fingers reached for the other's waistband to curl into and she pressed herself up against her, purring nearly as hard as a real cat. "Maybe we should do a little... pre-dinner calisthenics to... you know. Work up our appetites?" She murmured, her voice warm and playful and so very inviting.

The small arrival into her kitchen was met with no small amount of cheer, and Shahar turned to greet her rainbowed butterfly, letting her strong arms drape over narrow shoulders, and she dropped a kiss towards that brightly-colored head. “I do so aim to please, farasha.” she murmured, and leaned down, slipping her arms around Sidney's hips and pulling her up to set her on the counter.
And there, height to height, she offered the other woman a proper kiss- or took one, giving in to the rich invitation that Sid so willingly offered, for a brief moment. “Dinner is ready, though.” There was genuine demi-regret there, and she reached over, testing the heat of the dish she had cooked the sauce in, running her finger through it and testing the spicy sauce. Not too hot.
So now she offered a finger of sauce to Sid, eyes bright with excitement. “If you like it, I have put it in the cauldron, and we can have some food in our bellies to give us a little more energy.” Not that energy would be their problem, she figured, but at least if she could offer the other woman an incentive to eat... “Or perhaps while you eat...” she slid her non-sauce-covered hand over those colorful, spooky leggings, appreciating the absolutely delightful thighs and calves that they covered.
Though-- Sid was sorely tempting on the worst of days, and positively irresistible on the best, and today was feeling like a very good day. It certainly wouldn't take much more to convince Shahar to save the food for later, when she could spoil her friend for longer.

The affection was soaked up like rain on dry Earth, though it was true Sidney had no shortage of that sort of 'rain' in her life. Every drop was precious for someone as greedy as she was. She allowed the kiss to her hair, though she would have preferred one on her lips, and squeaked happily as she was lifted up to sit where it put her face more on level with her lover's, her grin devilish. Spreading her knees hiked up the bottom of her hoodie and exposed more of her thighs, but who was to see beyond the person she wanted to? This time, she got a proper kiss and she leaned into it hungrily, the feeling echoing in the noise she made in her throat. Her legs curled around Shar's to drape her calves down the backs of her thighs, enjoying the press of hips between her knees. Food... Sidney resisted the urge to wrinkle her nose, even though the smell of it was lovely, of course. Shar was a cook, something Sid herself had never aspired to, of course whatever she made would be delicious, but... Sid took the bit of play as the distraction she wanted and her eyes lit up when she leaned forward for the sauce covered finger so temptingly offered to her. "You always please me." She teased before she closed her purple lips over the digit, the stroke of her tongue and the way she sucked on it suggestive of other things she could do... before she stopped and scrunched up her face, releasing the finger after a moment. "Is it supposed to be that sweet?" Sid asked, eyeing the dish that looked like it should be spicy, or at least savory. It had tasted more sweet than anything else, and if there had been any other spices, she hadn't been able to taste it. It had been... more like candy, which didn't match up with what her eyes were seeing. "What did you make? I mean, I'm not against desert first, but I thought you said you made dinner."

Sid closing that pretty little mouth around her finger was a distraction from the even greater distraction of those pretty little thighs under that hoodie, and Shahar could practically feel how her eyes fought to focus in only one direction when Sid spoke. "Sweet?" Shahar leaned in, pressing her lips to Sid's. "I made Kushari." The kiss was sweet as sugar, and Shahar hummed against that pretty mouth, trying to tease it open. Maybe Sid had eaten some candy recently? The sauce Shar had sampled had tasted nothing like sweetness. certainly not in comparison to the sweetness of her friend's kiss.
But when she reached back and took a sample of the sauce for herself, from the cauldron, this time... Sid... was right. Whatever Shahar had fed her tasted nothing like the little scoops she mad gotten from the regular pan, and that... she had put garlic, and tomato, and there was no sugar in the sauces and pastes she had used. Her face was horrified, and she made a face at the cauldron, baffled. "That tastes nothing like what I put in there."
She wrinkled her nose, turning away from Sid to toss the food in the pot together, then took another sample, this time spitting it into the sink. Her curses were gutteral and grumbled Arabic, her voice harsh as she dug in the fridge to pull out a bottle of wine, and take a quick swallow of the red- which she proceeded to also spray in the sink. It tasted- She had been cursed. Even the cabernet, usually so dry... tasted... like candy. She went to rinse her mouth out, but it was... like cotton candy, spilling over her tongue. Better than the Koshuri, but.... what??? How was this even possible? She had been tasting everything, sampling every ingredient. It had been perfect. "Have you taken anything today that could be... knocking off our tastebuds?"
It was a tentative question, but she was desperate for an answer.

Kissing Shar was far more enticing than eating whatever she had made, but hopes that everything would proceed in the direction Sid wanted it to go were dashed in short order. Apparently, Shar tasted it too and was NOT pleased about it. Not that she was surprised.
Sid watched with wide eyes, her feet dangling, as Shar began to bang around the kitchen, trying the food she had fed her and then grabbing for the wine in the fridge. The party girl nibbled the tip of a forefinger with it's ragged nail as she cast back to the things she had taken today, assessing a long list of side effects and possible adverse interactions between things. As attractive as it was to listen to Shar curse in her native tongue, she didn't like to think she had caused this... and really couldn't piece together HOW. Everything she'd taken today, she'd taken before and knew well. She trusted her dealers and it had been a long time since she'd had to take a chance on product from someone new and untested. They wouldn't give her something laced with something else, or of inferior quality, without telling her... She always made sure screwing her was a more attractive option than screwing her over.
"I've had some stuff, sure, but none of it tastes like candy. I didn't even take any hallucinogens, so it couldn't be me making you think stuff tastes weird. I mean, I tasted it too. My stuff doesn't work like that. If anything, you'd be tasting... you know. Weed." She shrugged her boney shoulders, her neck disappearing into her hoodie and her bright hair puffing around her face. "Was there some residue on that cauldron you got? That'd be some seriously stubborn carry over."
