[ Radical Dreamer ] A breath of smoke left Forge's maw as he stood in front of the hovel home of a particular nan, he had shared some company with. Quietly he lingered, he had yet to announce himself and his ember gaze remained focused on the entrance. Silently he was going over his mind the best way to approach and explain his sudden appearance there at her home.... Dark gray clean tail shifted slowly behind him, as he avoided the gaze of any passerby that might have notice him. Forge knew why he was there-he was returning the cloak Yahui left in his forge-however what he was having a hard time explaining was the very elegant and jeweled cloak clasp that he had brought to give her. The pawmade piece of jewelry was made in the shape of a flower, with her in mind. In the right light looked to glow and be gently on fire. Forge took in a slow breath, and quickly thought it best to put out the pipe in his maw. Not everyone enjoyed the smell of smoke-and he dind't know if Yahui did.... Making a swallow, Forge's thoughts pulled free the cloak from his satchel and carefully folded the neck clasp in the clean cloth. Maybe he should just leave it..... WC: 213 Seruta Yahui wove her way through the city in another of her strolls. This one was short lived, however. She'd forgotten her prized pouch of goodies and treats and knew the cubs would be disappointed if she showed up in their path without it. She'd turned around to grab it and paused as she rounded the corner. Red eyes widened softly at seeing the large Tah at her door and her heart seemed to even flutter softly. She saw him seem to contemplate and debate what to do. It even took herself a few moments to collect herself, stop staring and shake herself from her stupor. Blinking, she took a few gentle and quiet steps forward and tilted her head from behind him. "Good evening, Tah Forge..." she spoke smoothly as if unphased by his presence. "May I be of any service?" Her words were professional sounding... there were likely others nearby afterall. WC: 152 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge's tail flared out in a slight puff as Yahui snuck up on the blacksmirth. Ears turned forward as his ember gaze slide to the side of look at the Nan beside him. "Nan, Yahui." The BlackSmith spoke, his gruff voice cleared it's self as he took a step back to see her better. Using his thoughts, he presented her cloak. "I Wanted to return this to you." He added in a strong justification to the reason why he was at her door step. Dark tail lowered and stilled behind him. Carefully his thoughts made sure that his pipe was still nooked in his horns for safe keeping. The jeweled ember flower clips carefully hidden in the robe, he didn't mention it....As if he had forgetten it himself. The cloak had been cleaned with care, and neatly folded. WC: 138 Seruta She blinked in slightly surprise, having not expected to surprise him. It wasn't as if she was hiding her aura... Then again, she hadn't noticed his either and was nearly just as surprised to see him standing there. Red eyes shifted to the cloak and she quickly returned her thoughts to the present. "O-Oh!" There may have been a faint blush as she smiled and carefully thought the cloak to herself, keeping it folded for the time being. "Thank you so much, Tah Forge! That was very sweet of you." she half purred then settled it on her back. Head then tilted a bit to look at him. "I was about to go for a walk. Would you care to join me?" she asked sweetly while stepping up beside him to nudge her door open to retrieve her cherished pouch of treats. "I'm sure you can take a break from all your hard work and... well, gather some fresh air?" she asked, hopefully. WC: 163 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge answered Yahui with a nod as she shared her thanks. "Careful to not let it fall." The blacksmith smiled more so seeing her happy and telling him how sweet the gesture was. Admittedly, the comment did cause a ear to tilt back-it wasn't often....or at all, he had ever been called 'sweet' or anything he did for that matter. Being asked for a walk, Forge tilted his ears back as he thought about it-well.... Did he have any work planned, or commissions to do? Yes, and no..... Yes, as in he could always use it as an excuse, and no as in it didn't need to be done right then... That and admittedly remaining in Nan Yahui's presences is something the old black smith did...desire. After all it would be far, she did get to see what he did most of the time-well, saw where he worked, and he had yet to -really- know what she did.... Looking back to Yahui, Forge noticed what one could say was actually hope-in him saying yes. It was enough to make his iron heart melt. "I.." Forge looked back at the Nan before she slipped away in her home, she must have forgotten something. He swallowed. "I'd would like that." The black smith admitted with a glance down to the heated earth. IF it wasn't too much of a problem. Of course, it wasn't she did after all invite him.... WC: 238 Seruta She was still smiling as she slipped into her hovel. It too was neat and tidy - everything had it's place - but there were more ornate and fancier things in hers than the Blacksmith could say adorned his. For her, it simply came with the territory. It helped that her room was in some part attached to the palace. Red eyes scanned the table, then peered in the opened chest beside her furred bed. Nothing... Still, his words traveled to her ears and she seemed to light up a bit at his reply. "Wonderful! I rarely have anyone to walk with me." she giggled softly. "Unless it's a guard. And they're not exactly entertaining to talk to. They take their jobs a little too seriously during those walks, if you ask me." "Now... where did I- Ah!" At first puzzled, she quickly perked to finding her item beside the door. Thoughts lifted the cloak to drape over her figure. It wasn't until the pouch she'd been looking for had been lifted did she pause. Eyes fixed on the new piece of Jewelry he'd placed upon her cloak. "Tah Forge...?" she asked curiously, stepping out now and fastening her pouch to her side under the cloak. Eyes pryed off the brooch long enough to tilt towards him with her query, though there was a small bit of a surprised and adoring shine laid within them. "Did you do this?" she lightly puffed the cloak under the brooch to accent the item in question. WC: 251

[ Radical Dreamer ] Forge remained outside the door, as he carefully listened to Yahui's words and took in what he could see in the nicely decorated hovel. With how well it was put together, it rightfully couldn't be called a 'hovel'. Patiently listening to Yahui, Forge coudln't help but notice how delighted she seemed about him saying yes to her request. Perhaps, what he felt wasn't one sided, and really wasn't so strange on his part. Taking a sit on his hunches, Forge moved his thoughts to his pipe once more. Carefully from his pouch he found some mint and stuffed the pipe mindfully, to help the easy the smoke smell that would come from it. Out of contentment, he desired to keep the pipe lit, to always have some fire at his paws if he should need it. Puffing the pipe back to life, the Tah waited for Yahui to gather what she needed. It wasn't till he saw her figure at the door, and the sudden pause as well as stillness, that he looked up. Yahui was draped with her cloak and the brooch/clasp show bright on her chest. Blinking, Forge released a puff of smoke from his maw, as he shifted the pipe with his teeth. His tail flicked and tapped the ground as his head tilted to look at the brooch and it's wearer more carefully. It wasn't often that Forge got to see his work on display in such a way. :His ears turned forward to his name. "Yes, I crafted it." The BlackSmith stated easily. WC: 259 Seruta A faint little trill of a purr left her as she glanced back down at it and settled it carefully into place. "It's beautiful..." she mused softly in admiration. Given that it was attached to her cloak and then given to her, she easily assumed it was meant for her. "Thank you very much, Tah Forge. You shouldn't have..." she purred faintly still. Her eyes remained fixed for a moment on the brooch before drifting to him, warm smile gracing her muzzle. Thoughts danced again high on the clouds she felt her mind drifting back to the conversation she had had with Jing Lung earlier. She'd made a comment at how strange it was that Forge had allowed Yahui in his Forge without shooing her away... And now this? Gifts? Did he feel the same underlying tug that she did? Is this why he didn't make it a point to treat her like he did all the others? An ear then quickly shifted back as she gently cleared her throat. "Uh, so! How about that walk, hmm?" she asked with a slight hint of a giggle to her words. She'd have to dwell on those thoughts later. WC: 197 [ Radical Dreamer ] A smile rested on the Tah's maw as Yahui continued to admire the brooch and as she called it beautiful. Of course it was, it was made to match it's wear. Her gentle and attractive purr tickled his careful ears. "I wanted to give you something that was made out of the materials that you had brought me, and you deserve something to help reflect your own beauty." Forge told her, perhaps he had used a few more precious stones he had been holding on too as well. However, he wanted something to reflect his appreciation and her beauty. She didn't need to bring him that ore.... "I am honored that you like it." The Black Smith spoke past the pipe as he let his gaze rest on her. His dark tail and clean pelt remained still and unmoved as he was captured in the moment. Nodding to Yahui's giggle, Forge turned himself ready to follow her. His long dusty tail, turned about with him as he waited at her side. WC: 171 Seruta Ears perked once again to his words as she turned to start a casual walk back out to the city. Paws halted briefly to allow Forge a step or two to join her before continuing. "You made this from what I brought you?" Ears quickly swiveled in surprise and she glanced back down on it. "I never would have guessed!" she breathed in further awe. Though it was what he said next that formed a blush under her cheek fur. "I truly do appreciate it, Forge..." she purred again then lifted her chin as they turned onto the streets. She glanced around at all the structures as they came to them. "Crafting is truly an art made for you. Or, you were made for the art, of course." she smiled. "I walk these streets every day if only to admire the craftsmanship put into the very core of the Fire Tribe." she noted, a faint smirk glanced at him as she spoke. It was true. She did - more often than not - admire everything. She also walked to keep her ears open and bring to Shen's attention the remaining rebels in their midsts, though the latter had been spaced fewer and farther between these days. It was rare she did more than just simply enjoy a walk and the fleeting company of cubs when they crossed her path anymore. "Which... Now I'm curious..." Her tail flicked slightly to some underlaying amusement to her thoughts. "I know you don't always work, work, work... What is it that you do to relax? Or entertain yourself?" WC: 262 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge followed after Yahui and as she paused he fully caught up to her side. His clean calloused paws shifted quietly as she let him catch up to him. "Gemstones are rare." Forge spoke, "And hide among normal stones." He added shifted the pipe more comfortably in his maw. "Thank you, Yahui." The Blacksmith responded proudly, his tail raised to it's . Slowly, he nodded to her. "It is the reason the Grand Weaver wove me." Forge reaffirmed her words, he was woven to craft and teach. However, admittedly it was a little strange from him to think of himself as a 'artist', but if she called him one-he would accept it. Listening to Yahui, a smile was placed on his maw as she shared her appreciation of the craftsmen work of the tribe. Taking in a slow proud breath he released it and let his tail swish happily in the air. As the Nan turned her attention back to him, Forge's ear widened that was closer to her as she looked at him. Looking back at her, he took in a slow breath and turned to look back ahead of him. A puff of smile left his maw. "You would be surprised then." The B'alam admitted, he was created work-and when he wasn't working he was cleaning up his work-and after that was done, he was drafting in his mind what he was to work on next....where new ore could be found what new-for lack of a better word-invention he could make. "Hmm..." Forge released a hum, as he looked back at his life as he tried to think of what else he did that wouldn't be considered work, by another. "In my work, I find pleasure, I don't tire of it." WC: 292 Seruta She smiled softly, walking in her usual casual canter. Her paws seemed to know the route on their own these days and led them both along the usual somewhat traveled roads that outlined the edge of the city before weaving through the the center. Her ears then perked to words. He found pleasure in his work? She supposed she could understand that... though, given his craft, she could see it less so as easily as she would have hoped. Jing was right. It was a rather dirty craft. While Yahui tolerated dirt -or in his case, soot - it definitely wasn't one she'd find much pleasure in working with. "So tell me..." she smiled softly, keeping her eyes foward and politely greeting a passing Tah... one of Smaug's soldiers, if she remembered correctly... "Out of all you projects and creations... do you have a favorite?" WC: 144

[ Radical Dreamer ] Forge’s ear remained turned to Yahui as he carefully listened to her words. On his gruffy maw, a content smile was placed as he followed her through the city. One that his paws, too knew so well. Though-a lot has changed about it.... As the solider past paw, a puff of smoke left the black smith and a frown returned to his maw. Looking ahead of him, Forge found himself surprised how easily she seemed to distract him from the stress of the war. Clean wispy tail flicked and twitched as his ears turned with his head to look at Yahui. What was his favorite creation? Another puff of smoke tumbled from his maw as he looked at his surroundings. Truthfully? “Yes. You are standing in the center of it.” WC: 130 Seruta She paused in her steps for a moment and gazed all around them after his answer. So. The city was his most prized creation? Perhaps that was another reason why he didn't seem so pressed to leave when Shen rose to power...? It would explain a few things. Not many, but a few. Her tail twitched softly and she smiled before looking back ahead of them and resuming the walk. "Well. It is definitely something one should be proud of." she nodded softly, chansing a brief glance at him before looking ahead once more. "Could you teach someone your skills? Or would you, rather?" she asked now continuing her curiosity compelled circuit of questions. WC: 114 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge continued his stride along Yahui, his rough maw gave a nod to her words. The city was his greatest work, though he hadn't done it all alone-he was just one set of paws among many. That is when true unity existed in the Fire Tribe. Dusty tail shifted mindly behind him at the reminder. Would they ever return to a time of such comradery. Taking in a slow breath of his pipe, he softly released it to her next question. There were a few he had trained, somewhere quite successful. "Yes, I have before." The black smith answered honestly as he let his eyes look ahead of him as another puff of smoke left the chimney. "My first apprentice, travels all of b'alam." Forge told the adviser, not caring if she relayed such information. That and he trusted her, though-he was aware of her job as well. "My Second apprentice." He then sighed. Worked with the 'traitors'. "Left our tribe." The Tah stated. "And before the height of the war, I had one stubborn tah inquire about learning." His trade was not easy, but along with the skill he was given by the Weaver he was also give the knowledge that that his craft needed to be passed on-for it to truly thrive. WC: 214 Seruta Yahui nodded slowly. Thoughts milled in her mind of the possibility of him teaching her... but the work was dirty - as Jing Lung had mentioned - and Yahui wasn't exactly the one to go willing rolling in the soot. Not to mention, doing so would pull her time and efforts away from her job. To spend likely hours down in the Forge to learn his craft would mean hours of whispers lost to ashes. At such a crucial time, that was perhaps not the best of ideas. Head tilted toward him slightly. "And what did you tell the stubborn Tah?" she asked with a slight curl to her lips. An amused flick of her tail made. WC: 115 [ Radical Dreamer ] "Hm?' Forge turned his head to look back at Yahui, his brow raised a little and his large head turned back ahead of him. Now that he thought about it, what happened to that Tah? "I told him he had potential, and I haven't seen him since. " Forge spoke his voice a bit distant as if it was the first time he actually thought about it. He had just been so caught up in his work, he didn't search for the Tah, and he had his own work to do. His tail flicked again as he turned his fiery gaze back to the Nan beside him. Why was she so interested in his craft all of a sudden. His dusty tail flicked a little more, and a soft huff of smoke left his maw once more. The faint sharp smell of mint clouded the air momentarily. WC: 146 Seruta Yahui chuckled lightly. "If you can recall what he looks like, perhaps I can turn him back your way?" she asked then shrugged a little. "You have a very large workload for just one B'alam to do all on his own. I'm sure a little help would be appreciated now and then." She glanced around them again, taking in another scope of their ever shifting surroundings and nodding politely to the few that would pass them. "As curious as I am to learn a new hobby, I'm afraid blacksmithing isn't exactly my cup of tea. Otherwise I would offer a paw if you'd be willing to teach me." As they rounded a corner, her red eyes spotted a young cub playing alone. He looked sad and lost. Her brow rose slightly to the sight, though nowadays it was likely a common sight. This one was often playing with another female cub, but her family lived outside the city still within the fire kingdom's walls. So seeing the two together was rare, but sweet. She turned her paws towards the little cub and offered a smile to Forge. "Pardon me for just a moment, Tah Forge..." she purred to him lightly then moved closer to the cub. The little Tah's ears perked to Yahui's voice and his head snapped up to see if it was true. Pink brows shifted upwards and blue eyes brightened as he sprang up and bounded to meet her halfway. "Nantil Yahui! Nantil Yahui!" he beamed and immediately leaned onto one of her forelegs. Yahui giggled and lightly wrapped a paw around him to hug him briefly. "Hello, my Little Paroo." she cooed and glanced around. "Are all the others home for the day?" The cub frowned and nodded. "Seems that way, doesn't it." he sighed and flopped on his bum, hindpaws sticking out awkwardly where he sat. "But it's ok. I know we're still friends even if we don't play often." he shrugged. [ Radical Dreamer ] "No." Forge spoke honestly about his answer of the one stubborn Tah, if he wanted to learn his craft he needed to show up on his own accord, not anothers. "..Thank you for the offer, however." The Larger old tah spoke more softly, his head tilted closer to his chest and to Yahui. Turning his head, Forge stilled his pipe as Nan Yahui went on to somewhat offer interest in helping him. His dark ears turned forward, before he could open his maw the wise nan already covered what he would say-she really had thought a lot in the statement, apparently. How curious. "Not all of it is...dirty." The Tah stated not necessarily saying 'no' to the idea of him teaching her. There was after all the jewelry making, and toys that he made for cubs.... Speaking of cubs....There was a lone one, that seemed to play with himself. How sad, the lard dark b'alam's ears tilted back a little, perhaps he could give the cub something to play with... Forge paused himself as Yahui excused herself from his side. Blinking, the large tah watched as Yahui moved over to greet the cub-who excitedly knew her. Tilting his head slightly, Forge watched the...admittedly cute interaction with the cub. Dark heavy, and still clean paws carried him over to Yahui's side and the cub. Slowly at first, he moved his pipe from his maw, emptied it and tucked it behind his horns. Lowering his head, his fiery ember eyes placed themselves curiously on the cub. WC: 254 Seruta Yahui carefully settled herself into a sit beside the cub and chuckled. "That's very true, my Little Paroo!" she cooed to him and purred faintly. "But. I suppose that means there's more for you, right?" she winked a bit as her thoughts brought out the pouch she had been hunting in her home before. Ronso's eyes lit up again. He did love her treats! What cub in their right mind wouldn't?! He immediately straightened himself and sat upright in a hurry. "You mean it?!" he beamed, already licking his lips at the idea of getting more than one sweet treat from his favorite adult. "Of course, Ronso." she smiled and allowed her thoughts to pluck one of the sweet treats out for him. She giggled a bit and turned her head to glance at Forge as he joined her side once more. "Ah! Forge! This little Tah is Ronso. Ronso, you've heard of Forge, have you not?" she asked sweetly. Ronso devoured his treat and then smiled. "I've heard of him! But I've never met him before!" he turned and dipped his horns respectfully. "Greetings, Tah Forge! So you're friends with Nan Yahui too?" his tail swished behind him with some small amount of glee... or perhaps a sugar rush. Once couldn't rightly say. WC: 214 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge's ears tilted back curiously as he watched the cub, giving a glace over to Yahui as he spoke and introduced them. Dark ears flicked back up as the cub spoke to him. "Fire Burn with in you, Tah Ronso." The words left Forge in his gruff gravelly voice. Looking at the cub, then where he was playing. It was obvious he wasn't with his friends and he seemed a bit bored. Taking a glance to Yahui, Forge had no idea that she see was so fond of cubs. He saw her with Lord Shen Lung's cubs, but she was really close with the family. Dark tail shifted behind him. "I am." The Dark tah answered Ronso, there was another sweep of his tail behind him. "and I have something for you as well, Ronso." The Blacksmith showed a smile to the cub from his scared maw. WC: 147 Seruta "Fire burn within you!" he responded back almost eagerly. There was some small swell of pride and gusto that radiated off the cub at being greeted like another adult. Being called Tah in such a way from a well renowned Tah seemed to help with that some. He beamed brightly, completely forgetting that he'd been so lonely and bored just moments before. Ebony ears then widened further forward at Forge, his blue eyes not skipping a beat to scan what he could of the larger tah before him to see just what surprise he had for him. "You do, Tah Forge?" he asked in part wonder, awe and curiosity. Yahui seemed far more relaxed in the moment than usual. She giggled softly between the two tahs and simply watched the two interract for a moment before her ears perked to Forge in much the same way as Ronso's had. "Oh?" she asked now full curiosity poised on him. All she had seen him bring was her cloak... what else did he have that he could give to a cub? WC: 179 [ Radical Dreamer ] Feeling Yahui's eye's on him, Forge respectfully kept his focus with Ranso. It was important to pass on teachings to cubs, though every action when one interacted with them. Well, that is what the old Blacksmith thought, they are after all were their true future of the fire tribe. Large head shifted and nod once to the young cub. "I do," Forge confirmed in his gravely voice. It was only that Forge's thoughts moved to his bag that he made a glance over to Yahui. The very bag that had held her cloak on his hip opened. His thoughts pulled forth a spherical object, and floated it in front of the cub. "but, I have a favor to ask." The Blacksmirth spoke turning the round object and showing it to the cub, it's leather wrapping had bits of fur woven into the bindings. " I have a lot of these, more then I know what to with..." Forge's pipe twitched and shifted to the side of his maw. "and I need someone to take care of this one, keep it safe and have fun with it. Can I trust you with that?" Forge's burning ember gaze seemed to soften as he lowered his large thick head closer to the cub. WC: 209 Seruta Yahui watched in quiet wonder, tail wrapping about her paws as her raised brow softened to him continuing to humor the cub. A warm and soft smile played at her lips as the ball was presented. She quickly found herself growing more and more intrigued and fond of the seemingly gentle giant that was Forge. Outward appearances were definitely not always as they seemed and this was just another moment to further prove it. Ronso blinked a bit, head tilting as the bag was opened. Blue eyes soon widened at the sight of the ball and a faint inhale of amazement came from him. Ears shifted back onto Forge as he spoke. A favor? What kind of favor? He sat down on his haunches and blinked at the ball as it moved to hover in front of him. Forelimbs soon followed, lifting up to grab at the ball, carefully holding it as he sat upright. Soon a wide smile crossed his features, followed by a rather pleased and giddy little trill. "Of course, Tah Forge!" He beamed, tail swishing on the ground behind him a few times. "You have my word! Thank you!" he promised and carefully set it on the ground in front of him. One paw rested casually on top of it to keep it close for the time being. "Did you make this yourself?" WC: 227

[ Radical Dreamer ] Forge released the ball with a nod as it the cub took it in to his paws. "You are welcome and thank you." The Tah smiled, letting the cub have the relinquished ball, the cub would do well to have a toy to keep him busy. "It will need a lot of attention and play, don't worry it can handle it." The Black Smith reassured the cub, and answered him with a nod. "Yes, It is a gift from the Weaver." came from the dark Tah, as he shifted his whispy tail. Forge always just 'knew' how to make things and craft them, so he deep down wanted to share his craft with others-even with a toy-it was far better then the use of metal, claws, and reinforced armor. Which he had gotten so use to be made, so making a lot of 'every day' innocent things was refreshing for the old Tah. WC: 153 Seruta "Whoooaaa..." Ronso exhaled with a grin, looking back down at the ball. There was just something special about being gifted such a unique thing from a unique individual. Wonder and awe continued to wash over the large cub before he tilted his head up slightly, brow shifting up with his furthering curiosity. "Is it hard to make them?" His ears swiveled then swiftly perked. Before Forge can answer, further excitement flooded Ronso's voice and a hopeful grin helped accent his next query. "Can you teach someone? Or even me?" Yahui blinked at the flow of the events before her and soon found herself giggling. Ronso was usually the more energetic cubs out of all of them - that she had seen - and was pleased to see him so open and freely spoken with another grown B'alam aside from herself. She soon found herself giggling softly. The two interacting with each other was far too adorable to pass up the small emission of laughter. Still, ears perked forward onto Forge to hear his response to such an enthusiastic young Tah. WC: 178 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge's ear closest to Yahui shifted as he heard her soft set of giggles. His eyes and brow shifted with a little bit of intrigue as the younger Tah, asked about learning how to make a ball. Dark tail shifted and it's tip twisted with thought. "Hmm." The Tah rumbled in a hum as the pipe shifted in his maw. Looking over Yahui, His ember gaze turned back to the cub before him. Strightening back to his full much larger height, Forge tilted his head down to look at Ranso. His eyes focused on the little one before him. He watched Ronso a bit longer, his whispy tail flicked. "I can teach anyone with the will and horns to learn." The black smith spoke. WC: 124 Seruta Yahui offered Forge a soft and warm smile as he turned to look at her. This was by far the most entertaining and treasurable journey through the city she has ever taken! She believed it would be a memory she'd cherish for some time. Her tail tip flicked lightly before he returned his attention to Ronso. Once his head had turned, her smile faltered slightly. Their world needed more moments like this. They all needed to witness the undying energy and wonder a cub could achieve over something so small and seemingly simple. She straightened herself up quickly however, chin tipping up a bit to further watch in silence. Ronso watched with nearly baited breath as Forge seemed to look him over. He took that opportunity to puff up his chest a bit and perk his ears forward in a hopeful flick. He could be strong and follow direction on a whim! He felt he'd proved that time and time again with his family. But he also knew that anything would be better that sitting out here all alone. Granted, he now had a new toy to keep him company. It would definitely get to see its fair share of play before he'd grow into a full Tah himself, but even some games deserved a bit of a rest from time to time. A smirk soon flashed over his features as he stood on all fours, further puffing his chest with a small bit of self pride. "I do, Tah Forge!" he declared. Face then contorted to a pleading form, smirk quickly shifting to a hopeful grin. "Please?" WC: 268 [ Radical Dreamer ] A thoughtful rumble came from the much larger Tah, his firey gaze looked about the small cub. With enough work, the Tah could grow strong with the hard work... "It's -work-." The Blacksmith stated. " an not suited for tiny flimsy horns." Forge told the cub, his eyes still watching him closely. His mind was not made up. "And do you fear pain, Tah?" The Fire balam raised his chin and caused his own chest to puff to the cub. " For you -will- hurt and get hurt..." he then added. "There will be no time for fun and games of a cub, and if did manage to find the time for it-you will be too tired for it" The dark stubborn Tah, informed the fiery soul. Was he woven or carved? If he was carved, it would be best to have his parent's blessing-however, Forge wasn't one to smother the will of fire in the Tah. He did merely need to show up at the Forge, and prove to handle the work. So it didn't bother the black smith too much, if the parents had conflict with the blacksmith, they could come talk to him...if they dared. It was also fair to let the cub know what he was getting into, and he would be tested. Looking down at the cub and his ball, Forge remained unmoved and his words firm. The softness he once reviled was replaced with the sharp and hardness of obsidian. "Are your horns tempered?" He then asked. "Is the fire with in you roaring strong enough?" He questioned and then lowered his head to look at the cub's dirty paws and nails. His burnt and chared horns tilted up to the little Tah. the mortar that dangled from it-swished and threatened to spill molten remnants upon them both. "Do your tiny claws have the patience and resolution to finish the task?" The Forge rumbled, his burning gaze not once left the cub. WC: 236 Seruta Ronso perked again, hopeful still. At first, his brows narrowed as he initially took the first line as if it were an insult. He didn't have tiny and flimsy horns! Fires ignited in his eyes back at Forge and tail whipped, ready to quip back in protest, but he held his tongue. It seemed as if the blacksmith was merely analyzing him. Judging him for the possibility to learn under him, perhaps? His brows remained stitched close, but he listened further, tipping his chin up as if it would further prove his worth. He soon shook his head. "Pain can pass, Tah Forge. And for that reason, I don't mind it much." he answered truthfully. "Without pain, how do you know you're alive or not?" He shrugged a bit. "I mean, yeah it hurts and I'm not ashamed to admit that I feel comfort retreating to my mother's side in those moments, but it passes on. It's how you learn. It's how you grow up." He snapped his tail from one side to the other, his paws remaining stiff and firm where he stood. "As for fun and games, those times are rare enough." Ronso even let a small giggle escape, overlapping his next sentence with it. "Did you really think I was having fun before you and Nan Yahui showed up? Most of my time is spent waiting on my friends to be let out to play. I wait more often than not, so I'd say have a great deal of patience to do whatever I set my mind to." Ronso's tail settled a bit and his body even relaxed as he sighed. He quickly glanced up at his horns then back at the Blacksmith. "I'm not sure if they're tempered to your liking, Tah Forge. I am still young, but I'm learning." Yahui blinked. She'd known Ronso to be the more honest and outspoken cubs of the bunch, but to see him burn with such desire to prove himself was even new to her. She smiled softly at the cub from behind Forge's line of view. Admittedly, she was in part shocked to hear such forward speaking coming from him to an elder, but she felt he held himself well in the current situation and felt it best to not intervene. WC: 383

[ Radical Dreamer ] Forge's dark tail flicked as if to habitually dust the usual clinging soot from it. Ears turned forward as he listened to Ronso, he had watched and studded him as he himself spoke-the Cub didn't seem to like the challenge that was made about his horns. Good. A breath left Forge's nostrils as he let the cub speak, ears remained forward. The blacksmith admittedly was impressed by the very adult answer and admittance. That was maturity, a rare asset for a adolescent cub. A rumble left the Forge. Slowly the boulder with fur straightened back to his full height, seemingly satisfied with the given answer "Find your way to the Forge, tomorrow." The Blacksmith answered. "The further you allow the sun to pass the less time you will have to learn...." WC: 131 Seruta Ronso blinked, head jumping up slightly and ears snapping forward again. Eyes quickly widened as it dawned on him just what Forge had said. Did he really mean it?! Was he serious about teaching him?! A fairly faint trill of excitement left him as his face seemed to light up again. "Thank you, Tah Forge!" He puffed up his chest a bit. Yahui chuckled lightly and moved to step forward, stopping so that she stood nearly shoulder to shoulder to Forge. "Perhaps you should run along home, Ronso." she suggested with a warm smile. "You'll be needing plenty of rest tonight to be sharp enough for tomorrow, don't you think?" she purred faintly. Ronso nodded and sprang forward. "Yes! I will!" He nuzzled briefly against Yahui's leg, body curling into one of her paws as she lifted it to pet his back briefly with another chuckle. "Thank you, Nan Yahui!" he smiled to her as he bounded back to his new ball. Glancing over his shoulder he grinned wide and happily at Forge. "I'll see you tomorrow, Tah Forge!" he beamed and started rushing off, lightly kicking the ball along his path ahead of him and using his thoughts to catch it if it were to wander too far for him to chase. Yahui found herself giggling lightly again and faintly nudged Forge's shoulder with her own. "I knew you made toys for the children, but I didn't realize you had such a soft spot for them too..." she half teased and began slowly continuing their journey through the city. WC: 260 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge released a breath, as he watched the cub before him light up with excitement. Dark tail shifted behind him and his thoughts moved to his pipe as Yahui stepped forward and advised the cub to head home for the night. Working to relight the dimmed pipe, Forge seemed to not pay attention to Yahui's and Ronso's interaction. After a few puffs the pipe pushed up a billow of smoke. Whispy tail hovered above the ground behind his paws, he ticked it's tip in a sublet motion. Watching the cub race off with the pawmade ball, Forge offered the cub a acknowledging nod as he looked back. Feeling Yahui's nudge on his shoulder, the large b'alam didn't even budge. A puff of smoke left his maw, and off to the side as she spoke of his 'soft spot' for cubs. A rumble left the Tah, "Calloused paws should be just as skilled to handle something gently as it could tightly and roughly..." It was all that Forge said on the matter as he followed Yahui and she started to move once again. He drifted easily at her side as if a shadow, his dark pelt a deep contrast to her lighter one. WC: 202 Seruta Yahui shifted her gaze sideways onto Forge as they walked, brows softly lifting at the response he gave before red orbs fixed back on the path before them. She let his words idly dance in her thoughts. Is that what she'd been seeing of him all this time? The gruff and raw responses and attention to detail in his work, but the calm, collected, partly stoic method in which he reacted with others... namely herself and cubs, apparently... It was odd for Yahui to take in fully and understand. There were many thoughts and theories that were still wafting about in the way like ash in the breeze. Blocking her vision from seeing the full picture. She could only hope that the bits she'd been able to piece together this far was correct in her assumption. What if he was her other half? Surely if he wasn't, she'd likely not be so content with walking through his handiwork with him. She'd likely be more bored or eager to be elsewhere, sticking her nose in other places instead. Her face furrowed faintly before the smile returned. "Forgive me if this is a rather private inquery, Forge..." she flicked her tail a bit to soften her sheer curiosity and simply ask as if they were mere friends in friendly conversation. "... but, have you ever considered having kids one day?" WC: 227 [ Radical Dreamer ] Following Yahui, Forge looked about the tribe and his handy work-mostly out of habit. He was the only one as of the moment that could make repairs. Taking in a slow breath on his pipe, he released the minty smoke in a puff at the side of his maw and away from Yahui. Hearing her speak, on a more serious note-his ebony ear turned and focused on Yahui. His lips on his maw seemed to pierce and his teeth chewed faintly on his pipe as he didn't look at Yahui right away. He could feel her eyes on him though, and it would be rude not to look at her back...... Dark tail shifted slowly and sheepishly behind him. Ember eyes made a glance to Yahui, and his chin remained unmoved. His eyes snapped back over to the exterior of dens and shops....painstakingly he tried to see if there was anything that needed repair to distract them both from the question. "..." Forge cleared his throat, and his Pipe moved from his maw and he coughed slightly. Turning his head his thoughts raised his pipe above his horns. Pausing in his step he calmed himself, and cleared his throat some more. Blinking, he looked back to Yahui. "Forgive me: 'have I've considered', what now?" The Tah spoke keeping the pipe raised he blinked and looked at Yahui, as if to play innocent of not fully hearing what she had asked. WC: 239 Seruta Yahui surveyed his every move. Steady and Stoic. As he always seemed to be. Though admittedly is was refreshing to see him caught off guard like that. She smirked lightly, biting back another small series of giggles for the moment at his feinging innocence. "Oh, I think you heard me, Tah Forge..." she half purred, her voice and features softening a bit in a form to tease the large Tah gently. She let a faint chime of a giggle leave her and shook her head softly. "I asked if you've ever considered having kids of your own one day?" She shrugged a bit as if it was a simple and commonly asked question. "You know. Carve a few idols, pray on them and see if they take breath." She turned her attention back forward, soft grin still playing on her lips. WC: 141

[ Radical Dreamer ] Forge continued to look at Yahui as she noticeable fought back giggles. He still maintained that he did not hear her-with a blank look on his maw, aside from the subtle shift of his tail and slight wiggle of his ears as she called him out. A little smile tugged at his maw. He cleared his throat once more, and lowered his pipe. A breath left his nostrils. "...I hadn't." The Forge spoke. "...Until recently." He admitted, turning his head to look away once more to make sure the tribe was in well repair. He could feel his maw get strangely warm as if he was in front of the forge working among the heated coals.... The pipe returned to his maw, and his fiery gaze remain sheepishly at the corner of his gaze. WC: 134 Seruta A single tan ear shifted as he spoke and flicked faintly in interest at his words. Recently? What could have changed? She wondered on this a moment, turning her eyes to the side to glance at him as he appeared to look in the opposite direction. Yahui's brow twitched carefully, curious as to what he had meant. She began to wonder if he'd been picking up on the small subtle tugs to her as she had to him. Red orbs shifted back to the path before them as she continued to contemplate if it were possible. And also the odds. Why had the weaver chosen them? They clearly started from two different backgrounds. Two different ways of thinking... and two different planes of propriety... Yet he always seemed to surprise her whenever she least expected it. Idle thoughts began to whir... did he feel the same...? Her voice lowered a little to a more curious but silkier flow. "Recently, hmm?" She kept her eyes forward, pawsteps even and overall demeanor unshifted. The soft smile she'd been wearing this entire time still played on her lips. She was carefuly to pick her next words, not yet eager to give the idea away, but still curious all the same. "Has the great Tah Forge found someb'alam worth the consideration?" WC: 217 [ Radical Dreamer ] Following in slow step with Yahui, Forge turned his maw slightly to look a head once more. Thank the Weaver for his dark fur, and that the Nan that was so closely beside him couldn't notice the red hue he knew and felt was there. His whiskers flared forward as he listened to Yahui. Inwardly he was filled with wonder-she didn't seem to react to the comment. Teeth stated to grind softly and nervously on the pipe bit in his maw as she waited for a response. "I wouldn't call myself, 'Great'." The Tah seemed to want to prolong the subject, comment, and questions. Perhaps he was baiding his time-and working on what words to use to better his answer. Either way, he could feel his fur stand slightly on end and goosebumps started to prickle underneath the smoky gray and ebony fur. Ears perked strangely forward as he worked to keep his focus on what his answer should be-but it was difficult with those deep set of embers that were placed so intently on him. There was a stubborn flick of his tail, a subtle tame show of how uncomfortable he was starting to feeling. He swallowed and stopped in his paw steps. His burning gaze remained focused on Yahui..... A stubborn and noisy huff left the Tah......a bellow of smoke followed. WC: 223 Seruta Yahui couldn't help but grin a bit at his reply. He was truly a Great Tah. In all manners of the word. Yet to deny it so bashfully... er... was it bashfully made? She flashed her eyes towards him briefly, but retained her smile. Clearly she meant the words without teasing him, no matter how the words and glances seemed to portray. A tan ear shifted to fully focus on him, waiting patiently for the answer that didn't seem to come. Did he not feel comfortable talking about such things? On one paw she could understand... and relate... Or perhaps he had found someone - other than her - that did not abide by the rules of Shen... Now there was a grave thought.... Her brow stitched together slightly at the mere idea. Perhaps he wasn't her bonded and she was merely mistaking the new secretive life she'd been investigating and attempting to live as a means to justify her want to feel close to someone. She frowned a bit at the thought, though nearly missed him stopping entirely. A few steps forward, she flicked her ear towards him only to hear that his heavy pawsteps had stopped. Blinking, she turned her red eyes to her side and gasped ever so slightly to find him no longer there. Her own paws froze and head swiveled further back only to latch onto him, a brow raising in silent question as to why he'd stopped at all. Her tail twitched and ears perked as she remained fixed into that spot a moment before tilting her head ever so slightly. "You do not have to answer that..." she nearly purred though her face was riddled with worry that she may have landed on a nerve of some sort. "It is not my place to pressure my friends to explaining their personal lives to me." An ear flicked back, now worried that she had upset him in some way. After all, there was plenty about Forge she still had yet to learn. "So let me extend an apology to you, Tah Forge. I won't inquire of it again..." WC: 352 [ Radical Dreamer ] Forge’s pipe tilted and twisted in his maw as he watched Yahui, pad her way forward. His dark tail twitched and ticked, as he watched her. Taking in a slow breath, he took the moment to calm and steady himself as she seemed to be distracted with her own thoughts. She hasn’t noticed him pause. How was he supose to answer? What if he was wrong? Well, he was rarely wrong-but the last time he was really sure about something-important, he made a serious misjudge of character. That almost cost him his life-and skill.... As Yahui flipped around, Forge’s ears flicked forward and perked. She had his attention at the sudden movement. And his burning gaze widened a little as she seemed to back peddle the inquiry.... Looking at her and her beauty, as nervous as she was-she still bloomed like a fire flower. Taking in a slow breath, the forge’s pipe end glowed to life once more in a crimson ember. Okay, Forge gather yourself-for both their sakes. Releasing a billow of smoke, he stepped forward and along side her. “Still testing the coals....” his gravelly voice answered as he let just the tip and end of his own pelt touch her cloak as he stepped by and continued their walk. WC: 212 Seruta Red eyes focused fully on the Tah, brows narrowing slightly as he seemed to just stand there and stare at her. She must have really hit a nerve... Perhaps he was from a broken Yoli? It would certainly make sense for him to act in such a way. Either that or he was likely bonded with another that had left the Fire Kingdom for safety. Forge looked like the kind to stay and endure the harsh reality that they now lived in if only to save someone he loved... Then again... if he were as passionate about his bonded as he was to his work... She frowned, blinking in slight confusion as his statuesque figure suddenly shifted and padded slowly up along side her. Ears swiveled back and one hind paw stepped to the side to further shift and support her weight while she kept her eyes on him. "Still testing the coals..." His words seemed to both stroke her pelt and still her heart all at once. Okay. So he wasn't bonded. To that, there was a bit of a relief. Ears perked to land on him, one shifting faintly to the sound of fur on cloth. She could feel him softly brush by her and while it felt perfect and right... she refrained herself from leaning into him as he passed. If she was wrong at all in her own theory, then that would only further the sudden awkwardness she felt. She took a slow deep breath and urged her paws forward, softly padded back beside him, if only half a step or two behind. Thoughts now reeled in Yahui's mind, eyes settling their focus on the ground where they were walking. Brows were carefully stitched, not too deep in thought, but at least to accent the point that she was off into her own mind for the moment. They turned another corner before she inhaled sharply, stirring herself back to the present and breaking the silence that seemed to still between them. "So!" she managed, her voice at its usual soft purr, yet it held a hint of a wary undertone. "Are you working on any new projects, Yah Forge?" If anything, she figured a return to the usual small talk seemed more appropriate. WC: 377
