tab Resembling a typical real-life pony, Earth ponies have the standard amount of limbs and lack any additions unless they have a morph. A stereotypical Earth pony is built for power, boasting strong muscles and hooves harder than the other breeds. They're often strong no matter their size or stature, however not all ponies are the same regardless of breed. Some may break the stereotype and be fairly and smaller than the other breeds. It is known, however, that while they lack magic their strength usually makes up for it, so seeing a weaker Earth pony is often a rarer occurrence.

tab Earth ponies were gifted with strength. What they lack in magic they make up for in their strong hooves and muscles. They are the builders and farmers of Everchange, often putting their strength to good use. It's said their hooves are as hard as diamonds by those ignorant, but they're almost right; Earth pony hooves are incredibly tough. It is their main defense and also tool. Damaging their hooves can often lead to injuring their pride!

tab Unfortunately, they're weak to magic. It's unsure why they're more susceptible to magical injury, but it's predicted it has something to do with their complete lack of any and all magic. Earth ponies are easier to manipulate with emotional magic, as well.

            Magic: None.
Strengths: Unique strength and incredibly hard hooves.
            Weaknesses: All forms of magic.

tab Earth ponies thrive around a culture surrounded by a good work-ethic and helping the communities around them. Unfortunately, this isn't necessarily good all the time, as Earth ponies have been pushed into a role of manual work and self neglect. Throughout history Earth ponies have been one of the best breeds to create structures and farms, and as a result it's been a role many Earth ponies fall into traditionally. This can lead to some negative stereotypes on what all Earth ponies are suited for. It also has bred many ponies who struggle asking for help, unfortunately.

tab Offering a helping hoof when others in their community struggle is a value the Earth ponies as a culture hold dear. Finding passion in ones work is another value they continue to pass onto their children, although lately efforts have been made to try and introduce more Earth foals to a life outside manual labor. While Earth ponies work hard to support themselves, they also seek communities to integrate themselves within.

tab The health of their hooves is incredibly important to the Earth breed. They created the market behind creams to make hooves shiny and strengthening polishes. The physical health of their hooves is something many keep a close eye on.

tab Earth ponies value their family, although their culture also supports the belief one can chose family. Those they hold dearly are members of their family and they'll gather together to protect the ones they care for. Holidays are celebrated with their kin and many families create their own traditions and hold them dearly.

tab As a result of their love for familial connections, courting is taken seriously. Earth ponies traditionally have supported the habit of taking potential partners out on dates, meeting family, and physical gifts as a form of courting.

Family: Viewed affectionately and sough after. Family is their life.
Courting: Taking potential parts out on dates, having them meet their family, or providing sentimental gifts.
Historical Roles: Civilization creators. Provider of services and food.

tab Earth ponies were the first breed created by The Dreamer. They existed several hundred years alone with Alicorn's before any other breed joined their population. Magic, during their beginning, was something reserved only for the Alicorn's and the world of Everchange itself. They could not imagine a world where magic could be useful for themselves.

tab So, when the Unicorn's and Pegasus' arrived they were quick to welcome them into society. Their technology was vastly improved on by the clever and magical Unicorn's and weather became easier to predict and control with Pegasus' strong wings. Their civilizations grew rapidly with the addition of their new friends. Other breeds were introduced over time, but none contributed as much to their way of living as the Unicorn's and Pegasus' had.

Social Affiliations: Works closely with Unicorn's and Pegasus' and allied with them.

tab Gifted with long and dainty horns, Unicorns are a breed built for magic and wit. As a result, they are often on the slimmer and smaller side, making them physically weaker than some other ponies but quicker on their hooves. Life can be easier for a Unicorn, as their horns allow them to use telekinetic magic naturally. As a result, not many rely on their hooves for day to day tasks, making some clumsy using them.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Gifted with the ability to harness magic, Unicorns rely heavily on their horns for day to day life. Born with the ability to immediately use telekinetic magic, they can practice and work up to harder forms of magic as they grow. When a pony uses telekinetic magic their horn will glow a color unique to the owner (often matching the ponies eye color!). Magic makes life fairly easier for Unicorns and many have completely opted to not use their hooves for most activities.

tab Due to their complete dependency on magic they are physically weaker than some of the breeds and can be clumsy with their hooves. They also suffer more injury from physical attacks and will take longer to heal from them, although the reasoning is unknown. They have a natural resistance to magic being used on them and will feel less damage from magical attacks.

tab Unicorns do not tend to practice blood, dark, or shadow magic. Blood and dark magic often result in needing to harm another for incantations or impacting a force of nature they don't believe should be touched. Shadow magic simply is not compatible with Unicorns and near impossible to master or use effectively.

Magic: Born with telekinetic magic and able to learn spells as they grow.
            Strengths: Magical strength and speed.
Weaknesses: Physical attacks and duties. Shadow magic is also inaccessible.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Unicorns have been mistaken consistently for having a strict culture which pushes their kind to intellectual improvement and betterment. While Unicorns do greatly value the mind and ensuring its health and growth, Unicorns aren't as uptight as the other breeds assume. They value their magical ability and see it as their job to help the world of Everchange advance, especially technologically. This has bred an ego into their community, as some elite families of the Unicorn breed can trace their contribution to society back to their founders and will brag of their feats. Not all Unicorns are like this, of course, but unfortunately those who are have given the breed a negative name at times.

tab Unicorns find their worth in how adept with magic they are and how it influences the lives of others. Many go into fields of work specialized in technology, science, and education. Their love for knowledge has been prevalent since their birth as a breed. They value knowing how the world works and what has been and might become, often looking to history in attempts to help the world not repeat the same mistakes of the past.

tab Unfortunately, while they abhor the stereotype that they're uptight there is some truth behind the claims. Children are often pushed into school a year earlier than others their age and expected to inherit all information their family has gathered and add upon it. It isn't done with malicious intent, but it can put a great deal of stress on the young.

tab Unicorns are not always studying, though! They've helped the world advance with their enchantments that allow ponies of all alignments to travel anywhere and power their tools and carriages. They've also added to the growth in medicine, as they've enchanted various plants to grow faster and more poignant. The second most notable contribution of Unicorns is their work as peaceful diplomats.

tab Family is, of course, loved and respected, but Unicorns do not put as much emphasis on gatherings and holidays. What they do care about are traditions unique to each family, as well as continuing on the knowledge of the family. Many Unicorn families will stay in the same field of craft/career for generations. This makes things quite awkward when someone within the family wants to branch out and it isn't uncommon for some members of the family to try and convince them not to.

tab Courting is done so with thought and effort. Unicorns will often spend time getting to know the ins and outs of those they're interested in to determine a gift that will benefit the others way of life. These gifts may be small, but they're chosen with great thought.

tab Lastly, broken horns are seen as a great tragedy. A broken horn cannot be repaired. Once it breaks it's damaged for good and resists any attempt to repair it. Magic is fairly weaker depending on severity of the break. If the horn is missing more than half of its body then a Unicorn will fail almost every spell they attempt. A broken horn is seen as one of the worst fates Unicorns can face and is grieved much like a death.

Family: Following in ones footsteps is a common tradition.
Courting: Done so with great thought on what might benefit the pony they have their eye on, manifesting in thoughtful and beneficial gifts.
Historical Roles: Diplomats and contribute towards advancements in technology and health.

tab Born alongside Pegasus by The Dreamer, they were equipped immediately with the understanding of how most magics work and how to master them. This instinct died out rapidly through the first few generations, but it was enough to kickstart the world of Everchange into a new era. There were the firsts to begin work on creating elite school systems and documenting history meticulously. Unicorns welcomed breeds who arrived after, but kept a cautious distance in the beginning to observe newcomers and ensure their safety as a breed. They remained closely involved with Earth and Pegasus' ponies due to the proximity of their births and contributions to the beginning civilizations of Everchange.

tab Unfortunately, Unicorns were beginning to only use magic in their family specialties. In an effort to broaden Unicorn magic a school later named Runesigil was created. Only Unicorns have ever attended this school and it's remained a huge reason why Unicorns have a wide arsenal of spells regardless of their career path or family specialty.

tab 200 years before the current timeline, Unicorns were one of the leading parties in the tragedy now historically called The Ghoulie Burning's. After a Ghoulie accidentally ended up causing the burning of Briar Town, Pixies and Unicorns banded together in a display of mass hysteria and demanded the outcast of the new and seemingly "corrupt" breed. Afraid of Ghoulies due to their relative newness at the time and mastery of shadow magic (a forbidden magic to the Unicorns), they sided with Pixies in an attempt to chase them out. Unfortunately, a smaller group of Unicorns began hunting Ghoulies down and burned them at stakes. This would cause Ghoulies to flee for 200 years and the current generation of Unicorns still trying to atone for their ancestors crimes.

Social Affiliations: Works closely with Earth's and Pegasus'. Allies of both. On tense terms with Ghoulies.

tab Pegasus' are built for aerial flight and speed, and it shows! Equipped with wings that seem to defy physics with their ability to carry their owners despite weight or size, Pegasus keep their wings groomed and healthy. It's their main form of travel, which has resulted in leaner legs and smaller statures. Their wings do host small feathers, which molt once every season. Unfortunately, one can tell a ponies health via their wings! Sick ponies will find their wings lose their luster in color and gloss. As a result, you'll be hard-pressed to find an unhealthy Pegasus, as they're admittedly vain of their prized wings.

tab They're also equipped with coats which are wind and rain resistant to a degree.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab While Pegasus' most known trait is their physical ability to fly, they still have magic! Firstly, their wings are clearly magical in nature, as they defy physics and Pegasus bones are not similar to birds. Whatever magical property allows their wings to work is also prevalent in other winged breeds and a mystery Unicorns wish they could crack!

tab Secondly, they're able to sense changes in weather a few days prior. Paired with an ability to lightly redirect wind and rain, Pegasus ponies are excellent at manipulating weather for the betterment of society, although they don't usually get directly involved for reasons noted below in their history.

tab Thirdly, and perhaps the most unique ability, they can walk on clouds. It doesn't matter their weight, either. Some Pegasus' have begun developing the ability to shape clouds into loose structures.

tab Pegasus are weaker to physical attacks due to their smaller stature. They make up for this in endurance and aerial speed.

Magic: Flight magic, weather detection/manipulation, and cloud walking.
            Strengths: Aerial speed and endurance.
            Weaknesses: Physical attacks.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Pegasus ponies subscribe to the belief that ones life is short so they ought to do what they can to enjoy it. While some of the other breeds might claim Pegasus' are too carefree and hedonistic, Pegasus' argue back that they rather enjoy life before it passes. This does not mean they don't provide to society -- far from it. Equipped with weather manipulation magic and skills, Pegasus' often track the weather and warn locations of Everchange of storms before they hit. They try and not directly alter weather physically, as they are unable to stop nature and only redirect it. This can lead to a storm becoming stronger or diverting off path and causing significant destruction. That, and a massive amount of Pegasus' must accumulate to significantly alter a storms course.

tab They value the freedom of choice and exploration. Pegasus' have explored plenty of Everchange, as they can reach hard to find spots and travel further distances before tiring. It isn't uncommon for a Pegasus to suddenly shut their business down to follow a different dream, as their culture supports ponies trying out various paths in life and chasing each and every dream. Pegasus' do not like pressuring their family or friends into decisions and are often supportive voices, which can lead to enabling. The balance between enabling and support is a hard one Pegasus' struggle with.

tab They've dealt with some harsh criticism over the years. Some breeds feel like Pegasus' contribute the least to society and/or are lazy. Pegasus' have slowly been growing tense throughout history due to these persistent accusations. As a result, the community is divided. Some believe they need to begin settling down and focusing on their contributions to society while others cling to their freedom and ability to explore life as they wish. Pegasus' traditionally are far from selfish, but the expectations put on them can breed anxiety over if they're "doing enough" for Everchange. This has resulted into entire civilizations of Pegasus' hiding away into the clouds or turning into nomadic hermits.

tab They're fond of Unicorns as a society, as Unicorns have encouraged Pegasus' to pursue their way of life. Not only that, but Unicorns have developed enchantments that allow for weight manipulation and gravity alterations in furniture and other goods, allowing for Pegasus' to build homes in the skies. This has led many Pegasus' to escape to the skies, where all expectations are gone and they can live as freely as they like.

tab This has bred some families to begin referring as other breeds as 'ground dwellers' and refusing to associate with them. Angry at the hurtful accusations, these families rarely touch the ground if they can help it.

tab Their wings are incredibly important to their way of living. Pegasus' take great care in preening their wings and ensuring they molt properly. In some groups, a Pegasus' self worth is attached to their wings. Without them they could not travel the world without restraint, after all. Breaking a wing is a terrible ordeal to go through, as a pony can suffer from restlessness and a feeling of their worth being stripped away. Losing a wing or the ability of flight has led many Pegasus' to falling apart completely. Interesting enough, losing the ability to fly does not remove any other magical abilities a pony has.

tab Family is kept close to the heart. Pegasus' love family gatherings! While many Pegasus' spend much of their time on the go or tending to whatever dream they're following at the moment, they value family and getting together for a moment to enjoy one another's space. They welcome new members warmly and readily, often jumping at the chance to support marriages into the family and throwing parties for births. Pegasus ponies are also one of the breeds who practice polyamory the most, as they believe in freedom to love and the ability to have multiple partners they deeply care for. This can result in some massive families, which is a plus for them!

tab Courting is affectionate and sentimental. Pegasus' will bring the intended to places they love and often propose by gifting one of their own feathers to the pony their heart is set on.

Family: The more the merrier! They love family gatherings and introductions of new members.
Courting: Bringing those they have their eye on to places they enjoy is a common practice, and proposing is often done via giving one of their own feathers to the other.
Historical Roles: Weather predictors and explorers.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Born alongside Unicorns by The Dreamer, they instantly began exploring the world of Everchange around them. Delighted by everything they learned and saw, Pegasus' began setting up towards throughout Everchange and helping aide the development of civilizations. They always had an independent streak, however, leading to them detaching frequently from the other breeds to explore and follow their dreams. They didn't get too involved with political matters unless it directly involved them and did not often answer to the Seasonal Four at first, although that began to change as the world grew larger and more intertwined with The Four, giving them no choice but to answer to the queens.

tab It was about 400 years ago when a dangerous thunder storm flooded a now forgotten town. In an attempt to redirect the storm, a group of Pegasus' gathered and managed to change the path for a brief hour. This, unfortunately, resulted in the storm flooding two more towns while resisting their attempts to again alter its course. The breed was hit with massive criticism from the public. Hurt and officially fed up with comments on their breed, a large population of Pegasus' fled to the clouds. Unicorn and Earth ponies remained one of the only breeds to understand that one cannot force nature to their whim and kept a close relationship with Pegasus' since.

tab 350 years ago Bats were born by The Dreamer and the free-spirited breed resonated well with Pegasus'. The two breeds have since interacted favorably with one another and often come to one another's aide.

Social Affiliations: Works closely with Earth's and Pegasus'. Allies of both. Has recently started an alliance with Bats as well.

tab Alicorns have a lot to say about themselves and their impressive nature, and they have a good reason for it. They're taller than every breed, often standing twice as tall as another average pony. Not all ponies are the same, as a note, so tiny Alicorns do exist! They boast strong hooves, magical horns, and beautiful wings. Alicorns often also have additional edits related to their domain, but not always. Many keep themselves well-groomed, as vanity runs through this breed like a wildfire.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Alicorns were the answer to maintaining the magic within the world without The Dreamer having to actively be aware of the world itself. As a result, they're incredibly power, regardless if born an Alicorn or not. Each one has a domain they govern over and powers related to said domain. This means not all Alicorns are alike in magical or physical ability.

tab The only magics they for sure share are; telekinesis and the ability to sap magic out of a living force to briefly accentuate their own powers. This, however, is incredibly frowned upon in this day and age and not many Alicorns will do such a thing.

tab They are highly resistant to almost all magical attacks and enchantments from non-Alicorns. This can be a pain, however, as typical everyday enchantments that could improve their lives just don't work for them. A spell to keep their coat dry? An enchantment to improve their eyes? All of it fails. They'll need to seek another Alicorn if they want a spell or enchantment done on them.

Magic: Unique to each Alicorn. All share telekinetic magic and ability to sap magic out of another living force.
Strengths: Unique to each Alicorn. Incredibly resistant to magic.
            Weaknesses: Unique to each Alicorn.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Alicorns are interesting as they.... pretty much lack a unifying culture. They're powerful and necessary for the world to survive, and as a result many Alicorns have an ego. They know they're needed and are aware of the awe many ponies feel towards them. Half of the population revel in this attention and enjoy living "higher" than other ponies, while the other half resents the attention and will go out of their way to avoid other ponies and live a peaceful life.

tab Historically, Alicorns have never really huddled together. Spread throughout the world, some live in towns and cities while others prefer to live in the wilderness. Alicorns do not feel a need for a community among their kind, but they don't usually hold ill-will towards their kind. Some Alicorns will find community in the places they live and families they are introduced to, while others will prefer to remain solitary.

tab The only similar behavior all Alicorns seem to have developed is a great sense of duty to their domain, although it's not always willing. Alicorns feel restless and sometimes experience emotional pain if they don't use their powers. It's predicted that the world of Everchange cursed Alicorns with the inability to turn their back on their duties to ensure the world keeps turning. Whatever the reason is, some Alicorns aren't too thrilled about the domain they have and what they need to do for it.

tab There are Alicorns who wish to be 'normal'. Detesting the god-like role they've been given, these poor souls seek ways to lose their wings and horns. Unfortunately, none has discovered how to strip the breed of their duties or even turn them into a lesser breed.

tab Alicorns have the same lifespan as other ponies, minus The Four. When an Alicorn dies their domain immediately is given to another new life, whether that be a pony born as an Alicorn or a pony who becomes one via awakening.

Family: Varies per Alicorn. They adopt traditions from those they're around usually.
Courting: Varies per Alicorn. They adopt traditions from those they're around usually.
Historical Roles: Keeping the world in check.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Alicorns were not the first to be born, funny enough. During the time when only Earth ponies existed the world of Everchange struggled with the surplus of magic running through it. That, and The Dreamer was not and never will be a predictable dreamer. The world was not exactly functioning at its best, as entire species of animals would suddenly be 'erased' from the world, locations would shift places, and the world would change how it works on the unintentional whim of The Dreamer.

tab It seemed The Dreamer must have sensed something was amiss, as one day Alicorns were born into the world. Everything that made up the world of Everchange was split into domains and given to these Alicorns, forever fixating them in place. No longer would The Dreamer alter the laws of nature or restructure Everchange as long as the Alicorns existed.

tab The strongest Alicorns were The Four. They settled into each corner of the world and created their own kingdoms. With their incredible amount of unstoppable magic, The Four became the main form of government within Everchange. These are the only ponies who have survived since the beginning, and it seems they're immortal. Not much is known about their individual lives and abilities besides what they've shown to the public, but the queens each have a name everyone in Everchange knows. Wynter, the Alicorn of Winter. Falyrn, the Alicorn of Fall. Summri, the Alicorn of Summer. And lastly, Spira, the Alicorn of Spring. These queens have remained the primary government within Everchange and, luckily, all get along well enough.

tab When the Suli discovered a way for ponies to awaken into grander forms of their current being the Alicorns weren't impressed. Earth, Pegasus, and Unicorn ponies were proven to ascend into Alicorns upon awakening and those born as an Alicorn didn't enjoy sharing the spotlight. It's been noted there's tension between born-Alicorns and awakened-Alicorns.

tab Alicorns have historically remained to themselves for the most part (minus The Four). They show no interest in interfering with the world around them, and perhaps that's a blessing. With the majorities focus on their own domain, it keeps these powerful creatures from spinning out of control and ruining the world around them.

Social Affiliations: None, as they focus mostly on their domain and their own lives. The exception is The Four, who govern Everchange peacefully as a group.

tab Aquatics vary vastly, as they have many types! They are as unique as fish themselves, although they all do share strong legs, fins of some sort, and gills on their chests/ribs. Some may host scales while others are completely smooth. They have great pride in how unique they are!

tab Aquatics can breathe both in-water and out of, although some Aquatics may find they need to submerge themselves in water more often than others to keep their skin from drying. Some Aquatics have horse-like coats, but many have smoother coats which resemble the texture of a fish.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Aquatic ponies can breathe underwater and also on land, although they do need to submerge themselves in water time to time or they risk drying out. Aquatic ponies prefer a life underwater or surrounded by it. They're weak to extreme heats, as it can draw moisture from their body and force them to escape somewhere humid.

tab They're able to encase small objects in large bubbles and direct those bubbles a short distance. While they breathe these bubbles it's unsure how they even form them! Some Aquatics have stronger bubbles which can lift larger objects or even hurt someone when they pop, although this is a new development and not all Aquatics are adept enough!

tab They also can travel in all water despite their type, but may feel slightly uncomfortable in different bodies of water not fitted for their fish type.

Magic: Bubble breath and ability to breathe underwater.
            Strengths: Swimming and underwater adaptability.
            Weaknesses: Dry or hot climates.

tab Aquatics enjoy their community immensely and prefer a life with their own kind. It's not that they dislike the other breeds and their cultures, but Aquatics can't exactly get the same quality of life with any other breed. They prefer their underwater towns and cities and having the freedom to explore water without restraint, which other breeds can't do. Aquatics are protective of their underwater homes and have been known to flee to the waters when their homes are in danger to unify.

tab This mass interest in connecting as a breed is very unique to Aquatics, as while most breeds find pride in their culture and people it seems Aquatics do so at a different level. They are immensely proud of who they are, their abilities, and their community as a whole. Some ponies have affectionately called their behavior "schooling", after fish.

tab Aquatics are a vain breed. They love to adorn themselves with pearls, laces, and anything beautiful. They are the heads behind the fashion and makeup industry as a result, and many of what they create is also water-proof! While they are vain and value beauty, Aquatics do not shun those who aren't conventionally attractive. In fact, they find beauty in almost everything. Everyone has potential to become beautiful in their eyes, especially if a pony lets an Aquatic get involved. All one needs truly is good hygiene and maybe a nicely placed pearl here or there!

tab They view those who can't keep on-top of their hygiene as sick, as they can only imagine someone not tending to their needs as unhappy or sick of some sort. Many Aquatics cannot fathom why a perfectly healthy pony may not care if their hair is shiny or hooves perfectly polished. They'll show concern for others by gifting them lotions, perfumes, and other body-related goods.

tab Aquatics have been known as messengers and designers, although one of those roles were unintentional. In the beginning, Aquatics enjoyed learning about the other breeds and would gossip among one another the news they discovered. This gossip would spread far and wide, and eventually Aquatics realized their diversity was useful for spreading information across the world using networks of water and different types of Aquatics.

tab Family is important to Aquatics. They see anyone close to them as family, often using the terms 'sister' and 'brother' for anyone they feel kindred to. It isn't uncommon for underwater communities to also band together and raise children as groups, resulting in Aquatics having multiple ponies they consider their parents. Families have intermingled for generations without truly being blood-related. Aquatics will also happily adopt orphaned Aquatics without batting an eye.

tab Romantic love, however, seems to be a more individual affair. Since so many can be seen as family, not many are viewed with romantic intentions. It takes a truly special somepony to capture an Aquatics eye. One would think they'd seek someone beautiful, but more often than not they just want someone who makes them feel beautiful. Once they've met this special somepony or ponies, they'll often court the involved with trinkets from the water. Seashells, pearls, beautiful rocks, etc. Proposals can be an extremely stressful situation sadly, as Aquatics are very prone to doing it in front of their massive families. They see it as sweet and welcoming. Others see it as a lot of expectation.

tab Aquatics believe that a child benefits the more family they have. While there are birth parents, others of the community will often step forth during a foals childhood and also act as a parental figure. Aquatics adopt children who may need a family with little restraint, often causing a whole little herd of children having the same group of parents. It seems like it could get messy fast, but somehow the Aquatics not only thrive but seem happy.

tab Traditional Aquatics don't frown on those of their kind who subscribe to a smaller and quiet life. While those who closely follow the culture don't understand why an Aquatic would want to practice a different culture than their own they try and be supportive. Aquatics believe they must stick together, regardless of circumstances. They can be fairly tolerant of even the most abhorrent behavior as a result as long as the other is an Aquatic.

Family: Large and often encompassing all they feel kindred to.
Courting: Rare but when done is personal. Offerings from the water are common, such as seashells, pearls, underwater rocks, and more.
Historical Roles: Messengers and creators of the beauty industry.

tab Born alongside Dragons, this breed of pony arrived with a bang. They immediately adorned themselves with anything they deemed beautiful. There was little drama involved in their arrival, as Aquatics were fairly peaceful and only interested in the water and their own communities. Unfortunately, this didn't last long, as Aquatics began to wander into Dragon territory and take jewels they'd mine. Dragons, infuriated, raged a brief war against the other breed. While it only lasted two years, there were enough causalities to cause both breeds to resent one another.

tab While Aquatics were prone to also living above water, they began building massive cities underwater. These cities have since been noted as beautiful and luminous, although only the Aquatics can frequent them.

tab One of the larger breeds, Dragons are often longer in length and have long tails to accompany them. Dragons have fangs, a dragon-like snout, a slender tail often bearing fluff, clawed feet, and massive wings. Most have horns, although it's not required. Some come with smaller horns running down their spine.

tab There are various types of Dragons, too, although the shared traits make them easily distinguishable. Dragons benefit from their clawed feet, allowing them to grip easier and stronger. They have several ways of defending themselves, although you'll often see a Dragon with well taken care of claws and horns, as those are their favorite defense.

tab Dragons can fly great heights regardless of their stature. Their wings will always carry them, provided they're healthy. Dragons also can breathe easily in the thinnest of air, making mountain tops favorable locations to live. The also are equipped with strength, making them formidable to go up against.

tab Dragons can breathe fire. These flames are unique in color to the Dragon, but all share the same intensity in heat. The flames can melt almost any metal. They can adjust the temperature of their flames precisely. Dragons do not bode well in water, however, as it seems to dampen their flames.

tab They are resistant to most heat and some can even walk on lava, although this is a new skill that only a few have.

Magic: Fire breath and flight magic. Some can walk on lava.
            Strengths: Strength and fire.
            Weaknesses: Water and humid climates.

tab Dragons were always a very solitary breed. While they often gather in tiny villages in the mountains, they don't invite other breeds to said villages and request any Dragon who mates outside of their breed leave the villages. They prefer dryer climates and so don't travel as far as the other breeds.

tab Their lives are private and it's expected it stays that way. They like secrecy and keeping to themselves. Dragons don't often divulge about their personal lives or expect others to do so. They also are incredibly dutiful and tend to their jobs and careers intimately. Their work is often their passion. Many Dragons find themselves as blacksmiths due to their ability to fine tune their flames, but many others choose another path; gem finding.

tab Gems have been a subject of interest for Dragons since the beginning. While Dragons are very secretive and quiet, they're also possessive. Once a Dragon sets eyes on something they love they just have to have it, and often they don't want to share. Gems have caught their eyes for two reasons; their astounding beauty and taste. That's right, taste. Dragons can eat gems. Their jaws and teeth are stronger than most breeds and gems have unique flavors per Dragon. Not all Dragons wish to consume gems, however, as many view it wasteful.

tab On the possessive note; when Dragons do find something or someone they care for they've been known to become aggressive in their pursuit of it. Items they covet will be obtained at almost any cost and ponies they learn to adore will be courted intensely and with purpose. Dragons are often wealthy due to their possessive nature, as many will hoard gems and other valuable goods. Unfortunately, Dragons can lose interest quickly once they've obtained what they were seeking and have been known to one day violently seek something out while next tossing it aside for something grander.

tab Family is a personal affair. They have small knit groups often only consisting of immediate family. Dragons will gather during some holidays, but affection is often shown by tolerance of company and sharing of valuables. Courting, however, is intense. Dragons do not feel romantic inclination often. When they do, that pony becomes a 'valuable' in their mind. Dragons will show grand gestures unlike them, such as expensive dates, declarations of adoration accompanied by presents, or even the biggest gesture of all; making space in their personal spots for that pony. Dragons do not share homes with just anyone. If a Dragon offers you a spot somewhere they feel attachment to then perhaps it's true love after all.

tab Dragons are incredibly violent when it comes to the protection of their children and mates. They are not above maiming or even killing those who endanger the lives of their cherished ones. Once a Dragon has chosen their mate it's a dangerous feat to try and come between them and their beloved. Children are an even riskier case and will often end up in immediate injury if a child is so much as threatened.

tab Their protective streak also rears when their children begin seeking mates. Barely anyone is good enough and Dragon parents will make it known. To win the approval of a Dragon parent is a task unto itself, but very worth the effort as they'll immediately associate you as kin and defend your life as they defend their child's.

Family: Limited to immediate family and protected passionately.
Courting: Incredibly rare, but when it happens it often is grand. A Dragon making space for somepony in their own personal habitats is the grandest gesture.
            Historical Roles: Blacksmith's

tab Dragons came alongside Aquatics. They immediately took to the mountains and favored their tiny communities instead of mingling with the other breeds. While they didn't try and get involved with anyone, Aquatics kept traveling to their mines and taking their rightfully earned gems. This resulted in a two year war that ended with quite a few causalities and a violent hatred for the other breed.

tab A very tiny and fragile breed, Pixies are dainty breeds which resemble moths and butterflies. Pixies are categorized into two types; Moth and Flutter. Those with moth-like wings and more fluff are Moths, while butterfly-like wings and less fluff are Flutters. Both are delicate, hosting incredibly thin wings that somehow allow them to fly (no doubt the same magic Dragons and Pegasus' have!).

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Pixies can fly despite how impossible it should be, no doubt also blessed with the same magic Pegasus' and Dragons have. When Pixies fly they can at will emit a glowing dust from their wings. Inhaling it or mixing it into a food will result in the consumer feeling the same emotion the Pixie did at the time of flight.

tab Pixies are able to help the growth of plants simply by speaking to plants. While they cannot control plants or encourage them to grow overnight, they can speed the process by cutting a plants growth cycle by half. A bush which takes a year to mature will only take six months. Their influence also often causes said plants to grow healthier and bigger.

tab They are weak to fire and physical attacks. Their wings rip easy and require extensive care to repair, making them an incredibly fragile breed.

Magic: Plant acceleration, flight magic, and pixie dust.
            Strengths: Plant husbandry.
            Weaknesses: Physical attacks and fire.

tab Pixies enjoy pleasant company and tending to the soil. They are planters and gardeners by nature and revolve their day to day activities around such things. Pixies find great joy in knowing they're doing good for Everchange and that their influence has a lasting effect.

tab Pixies do not like to emit negative energy. They believe what you put out in the world is what you'll get in return and try their best to remain a positive source of energy. This has its problems of course, as Pixies are known to water down their own thoughts and gloss over issues they come across. They have a habit of sugarcoating or straight up denying issues, as well as pretending nothing bad has ever happened. This is incredibly frustrating and has caused plenty of issues when recalling history, as Pixies are quick to try and erase negative events.

tab This makes communication with them stunted at times. Pixies want to address the good in things, and only that. They can be sheltered and as soft as their appearance is. However, their interest in spreading good throughout the world has made them wonderful medicine-makers, healers, and caretakers.

tab Pixies do not believe in taking from the earth what you can't replace. Their villages and towns are often made from within nature itself, relying on trees as houses and living within the thick of nature. They regularly replant trees they end up bringing down and replacing any plants they use. They have been known as being fairly loud on the matter of green living in politics despite their softer nature.

tab They like to gather in small communities connected to other villages and towns. Connection matters to them -- they often have intricate networks of familiarity due to this. A Pixie can somehow know someone across the world due to their ability to spread out their tree of influence.

tab Family is not as coveted as other breeds. They do care for their kin but it's not uncommon for a Pixie to also feel a slight indifference, too. While they care greatly about positive vibes and ensuring everyone is happy they can be distracted and flighty in nature. They stretch their attention so wide that there's so much to do and think about and so many people to speak to! Family is not an important matter to Pixies.

tab This also is true for children. Often, children will find themselves growing up emotionally faster than other breeds as they tend to their own needs. It's very common for a Pixie who has bred with a different breed to allow the other parent to take over parenting rights. Children are loved, of course, but Pixies just don't show it the same way as other breeds. It is noted however that Pixies who did not grow up in Pixie communities are vastly different and will show different levels of familial love based on the community they did grow up in.

tab Courting is not often done by them but rather to them. Pixies will settle down with those of their own breed regularly, but it's often not a remarkable event. They're more attuned to having fleeting romances here and there if they've been raised within a Pixie community. Pixies, however, respond well to somepony courting them. Once can find they can capture the heart of a Pixie simply by courting them, and strangely enough those pairings last a lifetime.

Family: Vaguely indifferent but they wish them well.
Courting: They respond well to others courting them.
Historical Roles: Medicine makers and plant growers.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Pixies came about 350 years ago, making them a relatively new breed. They were born with an innate desire to repair any damage done to Everchange as civilization has grown and immediately started the process of enriching the greenery in Everchange.

tab About 200 years ago they helped cause the tragedy called The Ghoulie Burnings. When a Ghoulie ended up by accident leading to the demise of Briar Town via burning, Pixies immediately turned on Ghoulies, claiming they were violent and had nefarious intentions. They did not, however, support the genocide of the Ghoulie breed and instantly were regretful for their contributions. When Ghoulies went into hiding they spent awhile trying to atone for their part of the cruelty by seeking the breed.

tab They only recently located Ghoulies about 5 years ago and managed to convince the breed to rejoin civilization. Ghoulies are not fond of them despite Pixies attempts.

tab Small, fluffy, and quick in the air, Bats can be a soaring nightmare if they're causing trouble! Hosting bat-like wings, a tail with a membrane attached, and fangs, these guys very much resemble a bat. Many have fetlocks and additional fluff. While their fangs look like vampire teeth they would like the other breeds to know that the vampire stereotype is very hurtful; they don't drink blood!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Able to fly much like the other breeds. Bats have poor eyesight in daylight but can see incredible distance at night. Bats also can "see" via echolocation. By making a clicking sound with their tongue, Bats can listen to the sound and how it bounces to better get sense of a place.

tab Bats are built for speed. They're fast on both wings and hooves and are one of the only breeds which don't overly rely on their wings. They are adept with both! They are also an incredibly adaptable breed and can adjust to almost any environment if given the time.

tab Bats are weak to light magic and bright lights, as it can completely blind them for a short period of time.

            Magic: Flight magic and echolocation.
            Strengths: Speed and adaptability.
            Weaknesses: Light.

tab Bats are tiny little chaotic forces of nature. They love their freedom and don't tend to group up. Mischievous, Bats have been known to play small pranks and be small instigators when they can be. They actually don't have much of a culture as Bats often will just adopt the culture of those around them and don't tend to seek out their own kind or traditions.

tab Travel is important to Bats, as they enjoy the ability to fly and explore; much like Pegasus'. You'll be hard-pressed to see them about in daylight as they're strictly nocturnal. This makes social events a little difficult at times, but Everchange has adapted and more and more 24/7 stores and locations have begun opening for their batty friends.

tab Bats do enjoy domesticating animals. While they don't necessarily have any powers that might have led them to the conclusion they should raise animals, it seems back when they first joined Bats found small animals adorable and began the process of domestication of a few. It's not uncommon for a Bat to have quite a few pets.

tab They are nomadic by nature and prefer camping over having a set house. Many Bats sleep upside down, although they don't like the other breeds to see. In fact, they're fairly sensitive as a breed. They dislike the vampire-related jokes thrown their way and get frustrated when other breeds ask them if they sleep upside down or in coffins. Bats have raised their kind to be true to their feelings, so don't be surprised if one gives you a hard kick in the face for a hurtful comment.

tab Family is loved but not always traveled with! They will always remember who they come from and spend time with their loved ones during holidays, but Bats don't like being tied down and enjoy exploring without waiting for someone to catch up or planning where to go. They also are prone to fleeting romances. While the idea of love sounds great in theory, many Bats get restless and will flee the scene once things get stagnant. Children aren't traditionally abandoned, but due to how often Bats have been known to succumb to their fleeting urges they tend to have kids without planning, which leads to problems. It isn't.... uncommon for a Bat to leave a child at the door of those they know want to have children only to show up a few years later to meet the child they suddenly decided they missed.

tab Courting is not a drawn out affair. They are often even blunt with their affection and fall deeply in-love for a moments time before suddenly feeling the need to fly off into the distance again. Sometimes, one can capture the true love of a Bat, but they usually settle with those who are also nomadic and won't complain going wherever the Bat does. They like to remain in-charge of where they travel.

Family: Loved but they don't often seek one another out!
Courting: Blunt confessions that usually lead to intense romances that suddenly lose their interest. Those who are also nomadic are more likely to interest a Bat long term.
            Historical Roles: Animal breeders.

tab Bats arrived in a whirlwind. Born in the dead of night, Bats scattered throughout the land before most souls were even awake! For a few days ponies just thought sightings of Bats were strange monsters flitting by or Pegasus' with morphs they briefly caught a glance out. It was a huge surprise when the breed was discovered, especially due to the way they were found. Bats had scattered without knowing how the world worked or having anyone to show them the way, so the first thing they did once hungry enough was band together and invade an apple farm. They were quick to apologize for their misdeeds once captured, and were even quicker to successfully integrate into society.

tab While they vary in size from extremely small to very big, Ghoulie's all share the same basic traits; pawed feet, canine-like snouts, jagged teeth, spikes on their back, almond-shaped eyes, a thick pelt of fur, and most noticeably a large tail with a mouth on it. Ghoulie's are not known for being vain or caring much about their appearance. Instead, they cherish their tails who are often their closest friends despite their parasitic nature. Ghoulie tails have a functioning mouth, brain (although it is not as clever as their host), and ability to form basic sentences.

tab Typically, Ghoulie's lack any pupils. They normally have solid-colored eyes, although it's not uncommon to see a unique Ghoulie these days. Some Ghoulie's can even come with four eyes, which can blink independently.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Ghoulie's have a unique magic which other breeds have never been able to master or understand; shadow magic. It's a natural gift given to the breed and they cherish it greatly. They can manipulate any shadow, making them move independently and leave their host when necessary. Ghoulie's can also step into another shadow and lose their solid form temporary to cross through said shadow. This allows them to get pretty much anywhere if there's a shadow nearby. They've been known lately to hide in the shadows of loved ones when scared and sometimes forget to leave.

tab Ghoulie's have also recently developed the ability to cloak their body with shadows. This allows them to pull shadows nearby to cover their form and make them pitch black in coloring, making it easier to spy and hide.

tab They are incredibly powerful as well due to their massive paws and strong jaws. Their jaws can lock into place on will. Their brute strength and affinity for shadow magic unfortunately has given them a negative name, so you most likely won't see a Ghoulie's strength or magic personally.

tab Ghoulie's are weak to fire, but not because of physical limitations or lack of defense. They are petrified of fire to the point they freeze up.

            Magic: Shadow manipulation.
Strengths: Raw power and traveling through shadows.
Weaknesses: Fire and situations where shadows cannot be found.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Ghoulie's are a breed society still doesn't quite understand due to mass misjudgment and Ghoulie's personal fear of the other breeds. Having once been labeled 'the bad guys', Ghoulie's do not allow other breeds close. They tend to gather in small communities in dark woods or swamps and hide away from society as a whole. While some of the younger generations are interested in the world around them, they too have been taught to fear their past and it repeating,

tab They set up small villages within dark locations most breeds would find undesirable to live or travel within. Their communities often designate one or two members to leave the territory for supplies twice a month so they can sustain themselves while also occasionally allowing the other breeds to communicate with them. They are fearful and wary. When a Ghoulie takes a non-Ghoulie mate and wishes to bring them into the community there is usually several meetings to discuss the transition and not all Ghoulie's favor it. In fact, the population is split in half; some Ghoulie's rather they never fully mingle within society while the other half wish to move past history and find their place within Everchange.

tab This can lead to a divide at times, as the pro-hiding Ghoulie's think the pro-reconciliation Ghoulie's aren't thinking of their breeds safety as much as they could be. The breed as a whole is in a rough transitioning period where they can't agree on what the next move should be. The decision to come out of hiding was one that not everyone agreed on, even. Despite how unified they seem to be, they aren't politically. Fear can do a number on a group of like-minded individuals and really show the differences within them.

tab Their tails are often seen as their best friend. Their tail can eat, speak, and even feel separately from their host. While their hosts health is their own, they are almost like an entirely different entity on the Ghoulie. They have different personalities than one another and are as unique as their hosts. They can only form basic sentences, unfortunately, as their brains are not as developed as Ghoulie's. The tails often have their own names and are fiercely protective of their hosts.

tab Family is treasured; you never know when your last day with them is. Ghoulie's like to keep their family-trees within easy grasp so they can run down their lineage and remember the stories passed down generation to generation. They look out for one another regardless of beliefs and are quick to lunge into action to protect their loved ones. Their families tend to be smaller as Ghoulie's do not take having children lightly. It's seen as an incredible responsibility and while they're no longer having to keep an eye on their rations they still prefer smaller family units. It's easier to protect a small group of people.

tab Courting can go two ways. With their own kind they'll often hunt for those they have their eye on or offer small gifts. Courting another breed, however, is a frightening affair, as Ghoulie's know they one they covet may come from a family who despise them or have friends who will hate their partnership. Often, they'll wait for the other to court them in that case, but they're incredibly receptive to affection and will return it immediately if they're fond of the pony. It also is important to many Ghoulie's that their tails like their potential partner. Some Ghoulie's may see it as a deal breaker if their tail dislike you.

tab Ghoulie's are fond of Kitsune's and may actually perform traditionally Ghoulie-only courting rituals for a Kitsune.

Family: Cherished as they never know when they won't be there.
Courting: Hunts for those of their own kind and offers gifts. Waits for other breeds to court them. They favor Kitsune's out of all other breeds.
            Historical Roles: None

tab Ghoulie's were not well received when they arrived. They were naturally adept at a magic no other breed could master and they had a rather intimidating appearance. Despite Ghoulie's naturally softer disposition, they were eyeballed and kept at a distance. Unicorns wasted no time in turning their backs on Ghoulie's due to their affiliation with shadow magic.

tab It was during a festival in Briar Town when things went badly for the Ghoulie's. Invited by Pixies to come celebrate the fall season in an attempt to understand and empathize with Ghoulie's, they arrived hopeful and open to an alliance. A rather young Ghoulie ended up stumbling over the bonfire and spreading flames to the nearby tree-based town. Pixies, who were already wary of the breed to begin with, were horrified and heartbroken when Briar Town burned to the ground before outside help could arrive. Pixies own prejudiced turned into hatred as they believed the Ghoulie's did it on purpose.

tab Unicorns were quick to jump into the fray and point hooves. Due to their substantial size and influence in society as a whole, Unicorns were able to spread the fear of Ghoulie's throughout Everchange. Before The Four could step in a group of Unicorns began kidnapping Ghoulie's and burning them at stakes for their "crimes". Being met with fear and now executed for a crime they did not commit, Ghoulie's decided to flee society as a whole for 200 years.

tab Thanks to their shadow magic, hiding wasn't hard for the already dwindling breed. They remained cut off from the population as a whole and were unaware of the changes that came with time. Unicorns regretted their ancestors cruelty and Pixies wished to right the wrongs of theirs. Pixies began visiting locations rumored to home monsters in hopes to find the Ghoulie's. After hundreds of attempts by many expedition groups, a designated Ghoulie was sent to find out what the Pixies wanted. News were given to them the change in society and how Ghoulie's would be welcomed again.

tab Ghoulie's, over the period of 5 years, sent out small groups at a time to test society. Now they've accepted their welcoming but do not go out of their way to meet other breeds. They've rejected Pixies attempts to ally and stay tight knit within their own kind.

Social Affiliations: Afraid of all breeds (except Kitsune's), especially Unicorns and Pixies.

tab Changelings are a hearty breed.. Shorter and stockier, they're built for combat and it shows. Changelings have a chitinous armor unique to their species, which is difficult for non-magical means to pierce. Their vision tends to be keener than most species, due to their insect eyes. Though they have wings, changelings in their natural state are stronger on the ground than they are in the air.

tab Their eyes are almost always lack pupils and irises.

tab Changeling's most notable characteristic is where their namesake comes from. A Changeling has the ability to physically transform themselves into any other pony. This can be done from something as simple as a description of a pony, though spending time with their target makes the transformation and the deception stronger. Changelings have long honed this skill, and as such, are incredibly talented in replacing other ponies.

tab In addition to physical disguise, Changelings have the ability to imitate a pony's voice! This is much easier and less taxing, resulting in some changelings becoming incredible impersonators. It is rumored that, within a hive, changelings will host competitions to best replicate the talents of famous ponies!

tab Changelings have the ability to "fuzz" the memories of those around them. When things aren't lining up with what a pony remembers of their friend, a changeling can smooth over the confusion with a sense of peace and contentment. This does not change another pony's memories- rather, it distracts them from the concerns with the changeling's behavior.

tab Changelings are built like tanks, and take strength in numbers. They are physically hearty, but tend to be susceptible to magical attacks.

Magic: Disguise, voice copying, emotional modification.
            Strengths: Physical strength, copycat magic.
            Weaknesses: Magical attacks.

tab Changelings have long been removed from the culture of Everchange, and as such, have differing opinions on the ponies of the world. Many Changelings are as envious as they are hateful, longing for a life that does not depend on feeding on emotions. They do not think other breeds have suffered nearly as much as they have, and resent their situation and differences. However, many a Changeling does wish to be a part of pony society, with hives often times trying to emulate aspects of other ponies' cultures. Within a hive, drones may horde comic books, jewelry, or any assorted trinkets from 'the other world'.

tab An individual Changeling is referred to within the hive as a drone. This is a title that Changelings hold with pride, as changeling culture revolves around the concept of 'one for all'. When a Changeling is contributing to their hive and their hive is thriving, they are considered successful and praised by their peers. Many Changelings would sacrifice life and limb for their hive, as their link to the hive and their Queen defines them.

tab The Queen is the leader of the Changeling hive, and a hive may have no more than one queen. Queens are not beholden to gender- the title has carried over from ancient stories when a female Changeling took the title, but now can refer to any Changeling who presides over a hive. A Changeling Queen can sense the locations of the drones within the hive, and is able to reach out to individuals via a mind link. A Queen is viewed as much as a parental role as they are a military leader, and to their hive, a Queen is more important than the Alicorn leaders who preside over the seasons.

tab All Changelings within one hive are part of a general mind link. This link exists in the background of a Changeling's mind, no matter where they go in relation to the physical hive itself. When activated, any Changeling can reach out to other Changelings within the link to communicate. This has made the Changelings highly efficient, able to communicate silently and accurately with one another. They cannot change one another's thoughts, but may communicate mind to mind and address one another as a whole or individually. The link can be silenced when a Changeling wishes to be alone with their thoughts- this puts the link into the back of their thoughts, where it can be rejoined at any time. It takes a phenomenal amount of effort, and typically the help of a Queen, to sever the bond to the mind link.

tab Romantic affection is not offered lightly and taken fairly seriously when given. Courting is approached carefully; Changelings do not wish to disrupt the flow of their hive and will seek those they believe will be a good fit with them and help them improve as a pony. Flings and unplanned pregnancies are not typical for Changelings.

Family: A changeling's hive is its family, and family comes above all else. Outsiders are not typically welcomed, viewed with scrutiny and envy.
Courting: Courting between individual changelings is taken very seriously -- romantic affections are not offered lightly, in fear of disrupting the flow of the hive. Changelings can be monogamous or polyamorous, but take courtship and dating very seriously. 'Flings' are not typical in Changeling culture and are viewed with disdain.
            Historical Roles: Spies, messengers, impersonators.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab The Changelins had been long removed from society, tending to secrecy and hiding away. Historically, other breeds had shunned them for their emotionally vampiric habits, breeding resentment and anger within the Changelings. As such, they are hard pressed to give away their history, keeping information largely within their hives. Stories say that the Changelings did not always look like this and did not always suffer this affliction, but nobody outside of the Changelings are sure. Asking one is most assuredly a way to get bucked to kingdom come.

tab Changelings, for a few hundred years, stayed in hiding after being thrown to the shadows. Much like the Ghoulies, they were persecuted for their diet and fled as a result. They only recently came out of their hiding— this was not intentional, but a young changeling was accidentally caught during a festival. The queen of the surviving changelings, Morpho, arrived at her people's call. Thankfully, misfortune was avoided, as they were met with caution but peace. Morpho went to the Four Alicorns and they permitted her breed to run free again, as long as they followed a new law; the Changelings may consume their necessary diet, but they cannot consume the entirety of ones current emotions, nor can they absorb emotions of those unwilling. With this new in place, Changelings slowly began to try and integrate into society once more.

Social Affiliations: The changelings have enjoyed a very tentative peace and understanding with the Ghoulies, sympathizing with the other breed's scorn from ponykind.

tab Kitsune's are a rather impressive breed aesthetic wise. They boast six long tails by the time they're adults and dense silky fur which covers their entire body. Equipped with large paws with retractable claws, large ears, an elongated muzzle, and a thick ruff of fur, it's safe to say they resemble a fox. All Kitsune's carry with them a singular orb that powers their lifespan and magic. It is mostly impossible to see a Kitsune without said orb, but the reasoning why will be explained in later segments.

tab Kitsune's are typically leaner underneath their fluffy fur. They come in all shapes and sizes, however. Their orbs are often colored similarly to their eyes, but it is not the rule.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Kitsune's thrive off two magics; illusion magic and "trickster" magic. While the Kitsune's themselves call their second ability persuasive magic, other breeds have notoriously and unfairly called their magic trickery. You'll be hard pressed to find a Kitsune who will call their magic trickery, as a note.

tab Illusion magic does not physically change the body or substance of any one thing. Instead, it casts the illusion of a different image onto whatever it is they focus on. They can mask themselves as another breed, but if touched they'd feel as a Kitsune does. They can change how food looks or even inanimate objects. Just about anything to receive an illusion, but touching, tasting, or smelling that particular object will reveal the true nature underneath. Kitsune's can also create illusions from nothing. This means they can create the image of something that isn't even there or isn't even masking another object.

tab Persuasive magic plays off illusion magic. Kitsune's can encourage other ponies to believe unlikely situations. While studies have been done on this magic, it's honestly a mystery. Kitsune's can redirect attention, slip in information a pony would not believe prior, or change a ponies goal by using magic while speaking. Unfortunately, when a pony gets out of earshot from a Kitsune this magic wanes and dissipates within an hour. Often, if a Kitsune uses this magic they'll tag after the pony as a result. As this is entirely based on voice, deaf or hard of hearing ponies have a natural immunity!

tab Kitsune's are naturally immune to heat and fire. They are able to not only withstand it, but stand in/touch it. Fully grown Kitsune's can summon small balls of fire for a brief minute or so. These flames are often colored as their eyes. While the flames will hurt others, Kitsune's primarily just use them for day to day life. A traditional usage for their flames is lighting their towns.

tab The orbs they carry with them are needed to continue their life and magic. In fact, Kitsune's can live naturally much longer than any other breed if they maintain the health of their orb. While any pony can prolong their life via certain herbs and plants only found in Everchange, Kitsune's benefit from the strange orb. When they're born they are without the orb, but within a week a spot on their chest will glow for a period of time before an orb miraculously falls out of their chest.

tab This sphere is warm to the touch for the rest of the Kitsune's life. It glows when a Kitsune uses their magic and, as long as it isn't cracked or damaged, will help prolong the Kitsune's life. While incredibly hard and resistant, the orb can be damaged if a Kitsune isn't careful. Damage will shorten a Kitsune's natural life by either a few years (their natural lifespan is about 200 years), or many. It depends on the severity of the damage. Breaking the orb causes Kitsune's to lose all ability to use magic and "decay". They'll grow ill rapidly and slowly deteriorate until they pass.

tab Orbs typically follow Kitsune's. If not anchored by a tail, they'll float around their host. Kitsune's just prefer to curl a tail around their orb as it makes them feel safer knowing exactly where it is at all times. If the orb is taken, it can make a Kitsune feel sick and weak until they retrieve it back. In rare cases of being removed from their orb for longer than a month it can kill a Kitsune.

tab Due to how much their orbs effect their lives, they often believe that hybrids without the orb are bad omens. Especially if they have more Kitsune traits than the other hybrid breeds within them.

tab As a note, while they live longer than the other breeds naturally, they typically slow physical aging around the time any other breed would reach middle age. This is the secret to their lifespan, although how the orb does it is unknown.

tab Kitsune's are magical users by far. While they cannot use spells like Unicorn's can, their skills and strengths are entirely focused on their innate magic. As a result, they are incredibly weak to physical attacks but resistant to other breed magic.

Magic: Illusion, persuasive, and fire magic.
            Strengths: Magical use.
            Weaknesses: Physical attacks.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Kitsune's have stayed far from the other breeds for a time, although this was their own decision. They're still incredibly secretive. Most live within small villages and towns which houses only their breed and family they may have. Honestly, many Kitsune's judge the other breeds for past mistakes they've made or even assumptions those breeds have made about the Kitsune themselves. As a result, the mingling of Kitsune's and the current breeds are a new affair and sometimes looked down on by older Kitsune's.

tab Kitsune's often have their own internal power system. If they belong to a Kitsune only town or village there is often a head of command, and they're always a pure Kitsune. They are elected by their town/village and ensure the safety of their home. Often, it is them who decides what outsiders may visit or if those who live within their town/village can breed with someone of another breed. This does create its own problems, as some villages or towns straight up exclude other breeds to the point if a citizen gets with someone not a Kitsune they'll be shunned from their family entirely. As a result, a lot of younger Kitsune's have begun leaving their homes and living in mixed cities.

tab Kitsune's are very sensitive around other breeds, as they were previously judged for their magic. While times have changed and they're acknowledging said change, there's distrust. While they're known as loving and affectionate to their own kind, Kitsune's struggle to emotionally connect with other breeds due to the stories that have passed down. It is not uncommon for a Kitsune to reject a courting offer based solely on the fact a pony is not a Kitsune.

tab In fact, courting is a strange affair for the Kitsune. With their own kind it is slow and romantic, as they're known for creating beautiful illusions to impress the other and develop a relationship over many years. Childhood friends becoming mates is incredibly common for Kitsune's! However, with someone not of their breed Kitsune's typically do not court. Instead, they are courted. Often, due to issues from history, the pony trying to woo them will need to prove their loyalty and kindness through years of building a relationship and demonstrating interest in Kitsune-kind. A pony who learns Kitsune culture and customs is far more likely to get somewhere when it comes to courting.

tab The only exception to this rule are Ghoulie's, who they've always felt close to due to how both breeds were judged pretty early on.

tab Kitsune's have a specific way of marrying, too! While there is a ceremony, it often is kept to "will you cherish and love your partner for all time to come", and ends with both ponies placing a paw/hoof on the orb of the Kitsune (in the case of Kitsune's only marrying, they'll both touch the others orb), which is a symbol of ultimate trust.

tab Kitsune orbs are proudly guarded and touching one without permission is one of the gravest offenses. Kitsune's spend a lot of time cleaning and maintaining the health of their orb, so it's best you ask permission before reaching out.

tab The breed is a very familial one. Family matters more than anything, and they love expanding their family. Having many kids is common, and one of the reasons they were forced out of hiding in the first place! Kids mean more mouths to feed, but lack of money or a proper living situation has never stopped Kitsune's from procreating. They also often enjoy the company of several mates, notoriously known for being a very polyamorous breed. This is not enforced, though, and the breed does not look on any of their kind who are monogamous!

tab Kitsune's like living with their own blood. While they do believe in adopting close friends into their family, it's very uncommon for someone not married to them or their own blood to live with them. Kitsune's often live in homes that house generations of their family. Grandparents, parents, and children will happily live in one large home as a group.

tab Kitsune's have a natural desire to know more. Hungry for information, many of their kind are historians or educators. Even while in hiding Kitsune's were watching the outside and gathering information. They're a knowledge breed!

Family: It's important! Kitsune's love having children and often live in homes that house generations of their family.
Courting: Are resistant to outside breeds courting them due to history. Courting is a slow-burn ordeal where they take their time getting to know the other pony. Childhood friendships growing into relationships are very common. Traditionally polyamorous, they still don't look down on their own kind who might be monogamous instead. Ghoulie's may court them without any concern, and often if they do breed outside of their breed it is with a Ghoulie.
Historical Roles: Historians, educators, and caretakers.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Kitsune's came around the same time as Ghoulie's. They took to Everchange easily, however their magic immediately made those around them uncomfortable. Immediately labeled as deceivers and tricksters, Kitsune's struggled with the image the rest of the world gave them. Hurt, they began to start building their own towns and villages to reside in.

tab Then, the Ghoulie burning's happened. Kitsune's had always felt kindred with Ghoulie's, as both breeds were misunderstood at the time of their arrival. Seeing a breed they closely cared for persecuted, Kitsune's immediately packed up and hid deep within forests, caves, and swamps. Often, they used illusion magic to pass by other ponies for supplies and materials without a soul knowing they were a Kitsune. This lasted for a few hundred years, but eventually their love of family bit them. They reproduced too fast and couldn't keep up on training every single new Kitsune to be wary.

tab And frankly, most young Kitsune's didn't want to be. So, they elected a singular Kitsune to approach the four queens. Said Kitsune requested a promise they'd be safe if they revealed themselves, and in return they'd give back to Everchange by teaching them history that may have died while Kitsune's hid. The queens promised their safety, and the Kitsune's came out of hiding.

Social Affiliations: They care for Ghoulie's, as they came into the world at a similar time and faced the same difficulties.

tab Suli are a delicate and plant-based breed. Covered in a soft fur, they're incredibly gentle to the touch and often smell faintly like flowers. Equipped with strong horns (although their sizes vary and sometimes resemble wood in appearance), the small breed can still readily defend themselves if need be. Their cloven hooves are also incredibly sharp and just as strong as their horns, making them dangerous to provoke. Their minimal size may cause you to assume they're weak, but don't try to find out!

tab Suli are incredibly tuned in with nature. So much so that plenty of Suli even have moss growing on them. Suli's who have moss growing on them will find it hard to remove said trait; the moss will just quickly grow back. However, it's soft and strangely dry. Those with moss often also have a better immune system!

tab Every Suli has a succulent growing above their spine. This succulent can be damaged, although they're fairly stronger than most plants. Damaging them will cause a Suli to grow sick, but the succulent will always grow back within a few days to a month. Total destruction of a succulent will destroy the Suli's immune system and take two to three months to grow back. Suli do not die if their succulent is damaged, but they still protect them fiercely.

tab Lastly, Suli's have succulent leaves growing from their ears. This helps protect their large ears!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Suli can communicate freely with plants of all nature. While they do not verbally speak to plants, they can sense the energy of nature around them and understand how a plant may feel. They also can comfort said greenery and aid in their growth simply by being around them. Prolonged exposure to any greenery will cause the plants to grow twice as fast. If a herd of Suli live near nature you'll find the area booming with life.

tab At the expense of their own energy, Suli can forcibly grow plants and control them. Not all Suli are as skilled as the other, but typically they can grow large vines or control tree roots easily. Anything large will drain their energy for the day and often cause them to be lethargic until the next day. Suli can work together to grow plants so their energy isn't as depleted.

tab Suli feed off sunlight. While they can eat normal food (and many do!), their main nutrients come from sunlight itself. This does mean if they're sunlight deprived for too long they will begin starving, but the consumption of normal food can stave this process off for a bit. They cannot rely purely on food, though, and must use sunlight in some capacity. Artificial sunlight does not work -- something about actual light from the sun is important to Suli growth and life.

tab They can sense when a pony is ready to Awaken. While not all Suli live within The Despair and thus have no business helping a pony Awaken, they still can innately sense a pony about to reach their full potential.

tab Suli are incredibly weak to fire. They burn easily! They have an incredible immune system as long as their succulent is healthy, and those with moss hardly ever get sick. Their succulent will remain healthy as long as physical damage is avoided and sunlight is accessible.

Magic: Plant growth and manipulation. They also can sense when a pony can Awaken.
            Strengths: Plant magic.
            Weaknesses: Fire and fire magic.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Suli's generally believe in peace and growth as a community. They are very much herd creatures and prefer living within groups of ponies. They are not biased, nor do they favor or dislike any breed. As a general breed, Suli raise their own to be tolerant, patient, and open to experiences. This means you'll often find a Suli exploring or helping someone. Those who stay within The Despair are the only Suli who were raised to believe anything different.

tab While all Suli come from The Despair, many have recently left to pursue a life. Their breed has grown enough for them to finally allow their own kind to leave the forest. A small handful has been left behind in The Despair, but that choice was willing. Those who remained in the forest wanted to, and will continue to raise their young to protect the special plants that help ponies Awaken.

tab Suli who live in The Despair are often less emotional and far more factual. Their duties are to protect the plants that allow ponies to Awaken, and it is not their job to judge who is worthy of ascending. So they don't -- they never judge other ponies and often just approach things as facts. Suli who guard The Despair live within a small and deliberately nameless village only accessible by their own kind. It is rare for someone raised within The Despair to leave.

tab Suli who do not live within The Despair raise their young to be open and kind. Suli naturally feel a love for plants, so many Suli have moved into the Spring territories and helped spread greenery around the world. As mentioned prior, they're very much a social breed and will happily settle down with any breed and eagerly start a family to continue their line.

tab Suli's believe their job in Everchange is to ensure nature is protected and healthy. As a result, many Suli do not live in cities. They prefer small towns or villages that benefit the nature around them. Anywhere a large Suli population is you'll find a lot of nature and greenery. Those who harm nature willingly often disgust Suli.

tab Courting is fairly easy for Suli. They do not care who pursues who. Really, all one needs to do is show their adoration for a Suli. Plants such as seeds, flowers, or anything nature-based are highly favored. Suli's unfortunately do not partake in competing for affection and will often lose interest if someone tries to play hard to get or another pony involves themselves with the intended partner. Suli are also often very monogamous, although they do not judge others of their kind who aren't.

tab Children are raised to be nature conscious and often expected to be kind to their fellow peers. This is where a partner who isn't a Suli might be useful, as Suli's often will not fully acknowledge that puberty is a rough and tumultuous experience. They'll expect their young to remain level at all times, regardless of the fact they certainly weren't as a child.

Family: They often immediately want to settle down and begin a family. They are a social breed and want large families.
Courting: They are typically monogamous and do not like to compete. If someone plays hard to get or another party is interested in them they will typically cease courting. They love nature based gifts.
Historical Roles: Guardians of The Despair and protectors of nature.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
tab Suli are a very old breed. Some say they came right after the original three breeds did. No one is quite sure, though, as instantly Suli were drawn to The Despair and vanished within it. Suli's are the only breed who ever were allowed to safely live within The Despair. It's almost as if The Despair may have created them specifically for the purpose to defend the forest. No one is sure, though, and as The Creator is not waking anytime soon it's suspected no one will ever know.

tab Regardless, for a long time the breed stayed entirely within The Despair. Ponies only saw them when they were ready to Awaken and were granted access inside the forest. As years and centuries passed, Suli's quietly protected their home. However, as time went on they began to grow in numbers, similar to the Kitsune's.

tab Suli's began to realize there was too many of them, and the world would benefit more if they split. They could leave a small handful to remain in The Despair while the others could travel Everchange and promote a healthy world. The majority of Suli left The Despair and welcomed the world cautiously. They were instantly met with joy, as the breed was direly needed to start replenishing greenery lost during the rise of cities and technology.

Social Affiliations: They are generally kind to all breeds.

tab Flightless vary in both appearance and size greatly from individual to individual. Some come with wild crested feathers and tails that are as colorful and unique as the individual. Others have a mane and tail just like a typical pony. They are, however, never found to be combined. A Flightless with a crest will never have a tail and vice versa with a feathered tail and mane. One of their defining features is the small feathers that cover them, ruffling up at their shoulders and across their necks, over their hind quarters and down their legs.

tab Some of the Flightless possess stiff feathered fetlocks that cover their lower legs as an added layer of protection. Rather than hooves the Flightless have flexible claws.

tab Flightless are possessed of extremely dexterous claws that make them quick and agile with any work that they do. They’re especially gifted when it comes to things requiring detail and skill with those same claws, very delicate crafts and art are specialties for them.

tab With a slightly lower blood temperature than other ponies, the Flightless are extremely susceptible to the cold. It makes their little feathers fragile and they’ll do anything they possibly can to avoid cold. Even charms don’t ease this issue to any effect.

            Magic: None
            Strengths: Dexterous and agile claws
            Weaknesses: Cold.

tab With no memory of their past thanks to the Curse, Flightless have no real group culture of their own, though that just makes them all the more flexible! In fact they integrate so well into social structures that already exist that it seems they were always there to begin with. A lone Flightless is a bit of an odd sight as they often seek out groups to join and intermingle with, a flock of their own. They deeply dislike being alone, feeling disjointed and cut off if solo and removed from their flock.

tab This is due largely to the fact that they don’t quite grasp traditional family units as a whole. They prefer to and often do, form large communities that help with raising and educating children, as well as sharing resources towards the continued growth of all. This is especially true of those that don’t integrate with other breeds of ponies, they’ll seek out those of unrelated bloodlines and group with them before they form large families.

tab Flightless who form flocks of their own are nomadic, not sticking to one particular area and often traveling between the warmer climes of Summer, Spring and Fall. There is no real indication of when or why they choose to uproot from an area and move on to the next, but they never venture into Winter given their weakness to the chill there.

tab Maybe an odd effect of the Curse, the Flightless resent creature that can fly, and while they can actively fight against the instinct, they’ll often avoid anything with wings. With each new generation the instinctive resentment will fade and those raised by mixed parents will be noticeably more tolerant than pure Flightless. Generally they can be found intermingling with Earth, Unicorn and Ghoulie societies, away from those with wings and growing towards acceptance with each new generation.

Family: Tend towards large communities of different bloodlines, raise children communally rather than nuclearly.
            Courting: Unknown
            Historical Roles: None

tab One thing above all the Flightless have in common, they have no memory of what life was like before their Cursing. A collective amnesia that affects them all and as a result their history is a giant black hole. Try as any might, their history will be what they make of their future.

tab There are multiple types of Mers, making them hard to describe generally. However, all Mers have a fish-like lower half instead of legs. They resemble Aquatics at times, as some Aquatic variants can be found in Mers. All Mers have gills to ensure they can breathe underwater.

tab Mers vary in size. There is no set sizing for Mers. Mers all have smooth skin instead of fur.

tab Mers are incredibly in tune with water and surviving within it. It makes sense, after all, as Mers are the result of a group of Aquatics living solely underwater for generations. Mers can breathe underwater and above water, but they only move freely within a body of water (without the aid of technology). Mers dry out fast when out of water, thus forcing them to use enchantments provided by Unicorns to safely traverse the above world.

tab Mers have similar abilities to Aquatics, but enhanced. They can create larger bubbles of various colors and strength, making their bubbles able to potentially hurt opponents. Mers have their own unique powers, too; they can communicate with any aquatic animal and sense change in tides or currents before they happen.

tab They are weak to extreme heat as it'll dry out their skin quickly.

Magic: Bubble breath, ability to breathe underwater, communication with fish, senses changes in tides/currents before they happen
            Strengths: Swimming and underwater adaptability
            Weaknesses: Dry or hot climates

tab Mers love their community, but they're very interested in expanding it to include newcomers. They lack the pride in their kind that Aquatics seem to have, instead more excited to share other cultures with their own. They're a very welcoming society despite how long they remained underwater for.

tab This means they often have massive families, and it isn't uncommon for generations of a family to live with one another. It isn't hard to find the acceptance of a parent when introducing a partner! Mers loves their family line and often have surnames to track individual 'schools'.

tab The Mer society is very much like Unicorns in their interest in magic and science. They have dominated water-based technology for quite some time and continue to do so. They utilize the watery depths they've come to love in most of their inventions and have found ways to allow above-water technology to survive within their homes. Unicorns do assist in charm making and imbuing their technology where they can, but Mers have mastered their home so well that most of their technology relies purely on the magic and science of their world.

tab They primarily live in massive cities underwater. Now that the ban on interacting with the surface has been lifted it is possible to see lights from oceans and large lakes where they live. Their homes are often made of an opalescent material and their cities are lit by a blue fire that withstands water. It's truly a beauty to behold, and while Mers have seemed to avoid the vanity in themselves Aquatics have they take great pride in working as a community to keep their cities sparkling.

tab Mers range in how many partners they take. However, almost all Mers born within their culture will approach courting in the same way. Offering beautiful pearls they've collected themselves is how they show their intent to pursue another. It is important to find the pearls themselves!

tab Mers have their own royal family, led always by a King and Queen. While there's a firm understanding they hold no actual weight in laws within Everchange and have recently been warned by The Four to remain obedient and complaint, they still exist. The Mers adore them and look to them for guidance. Some Mers are reluctant to accept The Four as the true rulers, but keep their tongue when in company of other breeds.

Family: Large communities called 'schools'. Often have surnames.
Courting: They collect pearls (themselves!) to give to their intended
            Historical Roles: Underwater technology creators

tab Mers originally were Aquatics. The ancestors of the breed came from the same group of Aquatics brought into Everchange. The difference was a small group of the founders immediately left to live underwater and did not come back to the surface for generations. This slowly changed their biology, resulting in their current appearance.

tab The first group of Mers appointed a figurehead for their breed. This Mer was the first 'King', and his mate became his 'Queen'. At the time it never bothered The Four, as Mers were firmly kept underwater and could not interact with the surface. That, and Mers didn't want to -- they were content living underwater and minding their own business.

tab As time went on this would change time to time. Some rulers would want to pursue a way to return to the surface while others would sabotage previous scientific finds in hopes to remain underwater. This would go on for many generations until, finally, the views of the next few rulers all aligned with one another; they wanted to see the surface once more.

tab Breathing above the surface was never the issue; it was moving. Fear of drying out was very real and what stopped the advancing breed from their journey. It was during the reign of Queen Luminescence when finally there was a break through. A young scientist (named Xavier) within the court discovered how to allow the breed to float. Equipped with his weak necklace, he went to the surface and approached a powerful Unicorn (named Leopold) to further strengthen their discovery. The pair worked tirelessly until they developed the perfect necklace.

tab The scientist returned home and, with the permission of his Queen, he began developing duplicates of his product. One of the many princesses approached her mother in hope she'd allow her to run the festival of Fire and Water that had been spoken of for generations. Permission was granted and once the young scientist had finished his first batch of necklaces he distributed them to those participating in the festival.

tab The princess took to the surface and reintroduced a group of her people to the land-dwellers with said festival. After the successful event, Queen Luminescence was approached by The Four and warned of her place in society. While she was allowed to keep her title and royal line, it was only with the understanding that she was not a true Queen. Should she step out of line The Four would step forth, but until then they allowed the culture of Mers to remain in hopes to allow them to peacefully continue as they were.

tab The royal family has stayed underwater to be support for their society, aside from the princess who ran the Fire and Water festival (much to the disapproval of Queen Luminescence, who wishes her line to remain in the royal city). The young scientist has been creating necklaces for all those who wish to go to the surface, and even has made a counter necklace that allows land-dwellers underwater for 24 hours.
