โโโxxxxxxH I S T O R YWith two parents that focused more on their pharmaceutical business than their own son, Scott could argue that his childhood wasnโt exactly going to win any prizes. While his father was notorious for sleeping with every woman that crossed his line of his sight, his mother turned a blind to it and managed the company with an iron fist. His elder sister of ten years ran away from home when she was only fourteen, leaving the boy with only fleeting recollections of her face before disappearing out of his life forever. It was that incident that triggered Scottโs mother to sincerely pay attention to him, though not in a good way. She made sure he had the very best tutors that money could buy and ensured that he solely focused on his studies. Growing up, his โfriendsโ were severely limited to the one piano instructor that was paid to teach him and the stash of book that he hid from his mother before his sister left.
As he grew older, his motherโs controlling natural didnโt let up in the slightest bit. Her goal was to raise a perfect well-mannered and intelligent young man that would one day inherit the family business. When he was finally able to attend a private school with other actually human beings, Scott, unfortunately, found himself placed on a pedestal so high that it gave him vertigo. He didnโt want to be the Golden Boi TM, but rather simply himself. With the fear of letting everyone who looked up to him down, Scott played his role, working as hard as he could to please as many people as possible.
Eventually the time came for him to set off on his own Pokemon journey. His mother, ever so controlling of his life, demanded that he set off, build a strong team, and conquer at least two Pokemon leagues before returning to learn how to run the family business. Not one to disobey her, Scott set off from the Kalos region to Hoenn to do just that. However, during his pit stop in Johto, he encountered a face heโd thought heโd never see, his sister. Both surprised by the sudden encounter and wishing to know more about each otherโs life during their time apart, the two spent a week together catching up. They swapped stories, exchanged their lowest points and proudest days, and by the end of it, Scott came out of it with a newโalbeit foreignโsense of wonder and excitement, with just a smidge of aimlessness. Perhaps, he decided, that it was time to figure out who he wanted to be, not what everyone else expected of him.
