She knows he is there, silently protecting from the shadows~ Quote: This is poetry contest! The dragon seems to have fallen in love with the maiden. However he is too nervous to speak to her. Afraid she would find him ugly. On the other hand she already knows he is there, keeping a respectful protective distance. What is their story? Note: If you are going for the dragon does he woo her with poetry? Does he try to explain to her his desires through rhyme? Haiku? Does his nervousness get the better of him and he never speaks to her? Note 2: If you are going for the maiden how does she feel to have an admirer? Does she love him in return? Does she pity him? It's a four letter word
so short; yet can encompass seconds, minutes
and for me it can even span eras;
I am timeless. I am powerful ...
yet I am a fool.
Beauty is not timeless
It rises and then sets like the sun
Your countenance is like the sun in my eyes
But one day it will be gone.
I vow before that day comes
to be able to demonstrate
how it is you make me feel inside
Even now as I lurk outside your home
You know that I am here
just as much as I know you still
draw breath and grace the halls inside
I've protected your life
by placing mine at constant risk
with nary a thought to my well being.
Is this what they call true love?
My heart beats in triple time
whenever I catch glimpses
of your fair visage
when you stand so proudly
on your stone balcony
My mind yearns to shout to you
the praises I deem worthy
so that your ears will catch them

Extra Information: The dragon is physically unable to express what he feels for the maiden. He vows to himself that one day his actions will speak louder than words ever could in order to try and win the maiden's heart.

Extra Information: She was terribly afraid when first realizing the dragon's attention, but as she grew used to seeing him, and watching from afar she's grown quite fond. She waits for when he might muster up some courage to speak to her so that she can know the sound of his voice

Fair maiden sits inside her tower
Her lilting voice singing free
As delicate as a wilting flower
“Will anyone come to rescue me?”
Brimstone verge
Hellish fire
A dragon flies
Over the spire
Upon the window he comes to rest
Her eyes turn south and her demeanor falters
His presences invades the towers nest
“For why does such your singing alter?”
Rueful gaze
Lessening form
Drawing back
From dragon warm
She knows of all his captive affections
Of maidens and lads kept aloft
In many towers, in all directions
“Speak to me not with voice so soft!”
Weeping tears
Scornful tone
Dragon's eyes
Hard as stone
He braces upon the window sill
And taunts with power he possesses
So cruel fair maiden's heart feels ill
“Perhaps I've afforded you too many excesses!”
Tower stripped
Comfort taken
In her heart
No love awakens
The seasons continue to come and go
As does the dragon from her tower

Extra Information: Though grateful for such a steadfast friend and protector, she doesn't harbor the dragon anything more than friendship. You could say she loves him in her own way, though not in the way that one would love their soul mate. She loves him like the trusted friend and guardian she reveres him to be.

I stood within the night
My tail feathers glowing in the moonlight.
Lately these last few days there’s been a presence.
I don’t fear it for it reminds me of my mentor.
But I do wish he stop acting like I wouldn’t notice him.
Kindness or shyness that is something that only holds an individual back.
I mean he’s pretty from what I seen of him so far.
But oh stars of darkness and light here me.
Tell me how do I know if he’s right.
He’s agile and quick but really not all that bright.
I wish I knew before I decided if he was right.
Suddenly a light beamed across the sky.
Drakiza looked up is this supposed to be the sign.
She looked at the stars took a minute to herself to think.
Yet, she also took that time to go over her mentors teachings.
To find truth you must question yourself and the one with the solution.
So at a trot she went to wear she believed her admirer was to ask him for sure.
Are you the one for me?
Or will you be just another faded memory?
Extra Information: I’m using the character I made Drakiza from tower story as inspiration for this girl. That explains her background and that she plans to approach the dragon for answers. Eventually there will be a happy ending but the dragon will have to answer things before we get to happy ending.
