 M’li had been attentive during her lessons. She knew that here soon her own green, Starelth, would also be experiencing her own first flight. The young rider was determined to be ready. The hope of the Weyr rested upon these few greens. Lithustoth had already provided the weyr with a tiny clutch of cute eggs. She’d been on edge since Lithustoth’s flight and recent clutching, but Starelth had showed no unusual behaviors. Eventually M’li had relaxed and gone about her normal routines. Shortly after midday, that familiar, monotonous voice reached out to her calmly and assuredly. M’limine, would you meet me outside? It is time for my flight. M’li took a deep breath to quickly excuse herself, and walked calmly outside to meet her dragon. Remember to blood only Starelth. You must fly well for the weyr today.Understanding passed between dragon and rider. Yes, she would fly well today. For it was only she, and the boys who rose to chase her. Starelth would set the average standard for this flight. She pounced upon the herds and selected her beast, draining the blood as her eyes whirled purple. Starelth watched the dragons of her Weyr then called out to them. Come fly with me! She leaped from the ground with a shove of her strong hind legs and furious beats of her wings. Welcome to Starelth's maiden flight! This average green has taken to the skies.
Roll and match the same numbers as her. If she rolls two of the same number (ie two 10s), then you must also roll two 10s. One 10 doesn't count twice.
Each round will last 2 days max or when everyone has rolled. Starelth will make a new post at the start of each round. During the flight she may give out extra dice rolls for things she likes.

"Guh!" V'lon said this and some rather less polite things as Mirath wheeled around just as he was dismounting and sent him sprawling on the ground. "Oi!" he rubbed his head and sat up scowling, "What do you think you're- Ohhhh."
Oh yes! Mirath crooned, his eyes whirling as purple as his markings. As the young green launched herself into the air the blue bugled a challenge to the other males of the Weyr and sprang after her, reaching out towards her with a mind that glittered and shimmered in a dizzying array of rich and beautiful colours. I would fly with you to Rukbat and beyond, Starleth!

HELLO!
Dynasath's mental greeting was echoed by a roar just as loud as the bronze rocketed into the sky. Large wings drove him after the young green. Dynasath had always been a bronze suited for gold flights. Large, strong, capable of lasting in flight for several hours. Unfortunately he lacked the speed and dexterity of the green he was now in pursuit of. Outlasting the competition wasn't an option here. Starelth would tire before him, but her other suitors would likely be much closer to her when the time came. His only chance was to win the green's favour with his strength enough for her to choose him before she let exhaustion make the decision for her. With that in mind Dynasath gave another deep bellow. See how much energy he had? He could afford to waste breath in bellowing and still he would be here at the end!

On the ground, M'li stood with her eyes closed, completely bonded with her dragon. Starelth left her rider behind on the ground, but never far from her mind. She reveled in the strength and power of her wings. She didn't fly too fast or too slow, just about average really. Nor any crazy stunts, just yet. The green looked back over her bland back to see who rose after her. There was handsome Mirath followed by the equally handsome Dynasath. Do not stray too far from Pern Mirath, lest you lose your way! For we are direly needed here. She thrummed at Mirath. Her purple eyes turned toward Dynasath and his rather loud display. Good day greetings to you Dynasath. Are you always so noisy when you fly? Starelth wondered how long he could fly and bellow like that. Could they still hear him down below at the Weyr? Only when I have someone to impress! Dynasath quickly trumpeted back, echoing his mental call with yet another bellow. It had worked! She had noticed him. Maybe it wasn't great, but so long as she didn't show boredom or irritation he would continue. It was still early days and the bronze was confidently sure in his stamina. Even though he was the slowest currently, Starelth hadn't started with the manoeuvres that green flights were known for. Once she did it would become obvious how lumbering he was, but hopefully he could keep pace.

Never fear Starleth, I can be back in a flash if I'm needed - especially if I'm needed by you! As he spoke Mirath crooned and turned a barrel roll in the air to display his agility and grace. If we're not leaving Pern then where shall we go? I follow you like a comet's tail, like a shadow, like a lodestone to iron.

Are you otherwise bland Dynasath? When there is no one for you to impress? Starelth wasn't sure that's what she wanted in this flight. It wasn't that he might be bland, for she was always bland, but that he only tried his best when someone was watching. She crooned with amusement for Mirath. As quick as you can hop between? Starelth laughed in her monotone voice at Mirath's words. If I am your comet, then surely everyone will admire my tail more. We shall fly around the world. The green rowed her wings as she sought to go as high as she could. Show me something that you do well! Starelth called to both males. She folded her wings for a quick tumble through the sky. Another deafening roar. Me? Bland? Never. The bronze answered with a mental laugh. Dynasath had been called many things in his time, but bland had never been one of them. Many considered the bronze to actually be the opposite. Unnecessarily flamboyant and showy. Dynasath liked to make a scene, and now was as good a time as any.
Something he did well? Dynasath was certain that Starelth and Mirath could both outclass him in terms of aerial manoeuvres without even breaking a sweat. He wasn't a particularly acrobatic dragon, even when compared to his bronze brothers. So he had to work with what he had. The bronze angled himself upwards, breaking away from following Starelth to climb directly upwards. Being vertical meant there was more strain on his wings, but powerful strokes threw him higher into the air. Hopefully Starelth would be willing to swing back around to see his climb. Otherwise he was going to have a lot of catching up to do.

The green pulled out of her tumble and swerved through the sky, changing her direction every couple of seconds. The freedom of the air was hers. Starelth looked back over her shoulder to catch the boy's following her. Is that so? She called to Dynasath. He was certainly putting his wings to good use. It is. Dynasath replied with confidence. Almost as though to demonstrate this point, he closed his wings suddenly. The dragon dropped like a stone, tumbling through the air. Were it not under the conditions of a flight, some would probably consider the bronze to be in distress. The way that he tumbled head over tail down towards the ground. The bronze was rapidly gaining speed as he plummeted towards the ground. He had dropped a considerable height before he snapped his wings open. His large wingspan acted as a parachute, slowing his fall considerably. Dynasath didn't give himself long to recover from the drop before he was rapidly beating his wings. Using the remaining momentum to dive and then bend in a wide U shape back into the air. I'd always be happy to show you, any time.

The_Muffin_Puppy Starelth chooses Dynasath! Perhaps she'd been more tricksie than she'd planned. Starelth had noticed the males were either being super polite and giving her space to fly or were having a difficult time keeping up. In fact the air seemed to hold a distinct lack of males following after her now. Actually the closest one was Dynasath. The green eyed the bronze as he closed his wings and tumbled through the air. It was rather impressive how far he fell. She was so captivated by the stunt, Starelth decided she'd better take her opportunity while she had it. Then come show me now! Starelth turned back in the air to meet up with her chosen suitor.
