Nyrili took a deep breath. Ophelia had just sent them a text asking if they had any idea what they wanted to do for their career. The short answer? No. The longer answer was that they had never really thought about it because they had always been too busy dealing with their anxiety. Which was of course not helping at all now that they realized they still had no idea what they wanted to be when they grew up.
Great. Just great. They could hear their mother's voice in their head, telling them not to freak out. Everything would be okay.
Then there was that other voice inside their head. The one that was constantly telling them what they should be worrying about, constantly telling her that laughter she heard down the hall was obviously about her. They hated that voice but had never been able to find a way to silence it. It got quiet when they were around Ophelia, but they couldn't ask the Fey to be around them all day. As nice as that would be.
Nyrili sighed and covered their face with their hands. "What am I going to do?" she groaned. Maybe the school website would have suggestions. Getting up, they moved over to their desk and opened up their laptop to browse. The site was actually kind of helpful and calming. Reading up on what electives were available, they came across a blurb that assured students they didn't have to know what they wanted to be right away. They could try different things and even in university they could take their time to decide.
Nyrili smiled a little and relaxed. Oh, but creative writing sounded interesting...
