It's that time! With Lithustoth's clutch hardening on the sands it is time to get the candidates ready for them to meet the eggs. Since this clutch is much smaller than usual candidates will be viewing the eggs in small groups, instead of all together. The Weyr has over a hundred candidates, it would be too overwhelming for the eggs to be touched by a crowd of people at once. So instead several smaller touchings will be held. The candidates will be shown into the cavern in small groups, one in the morning and one in the evening, from 25.4.182 to 30.4.182. OOCly you may post any time while the touching is open. You can choose to put your candidate into any of the groups. This will not affect the response time or order of responses. However, eggs might change given who they have interacted with before. This is a very big time for them. Allow this to colour which group you choose if you wish. The touching will run from: 8am (GMT) 26th September 2018 to 7.59am (GMT) 4th October 2018Below is the candidate form that needs to be filled out for your candidate to be eligible to impress. Which group will this candidate be in for the Touching? She'll Touch when she's told ICly. I'm down any day OOCly. (I don't the canon dates so well so an afternoon any time is gr8, just quote me in where it'sconvenient)

How long have they been a candidate? Since pre-plague, technically. She stod once at Benden before she was transfgerred and since hasn't had luck (OOCly didn't exist LOOOL)
Are there any risks to their eligibility to impress? I don't... I don't think so RN?
Sum up your character's personality as you see them. A giant, fluffy, kind hearted sweetiepie who never should have been raised by her grumpy papa to be as grumy as he is. It's like, Ratchet from Transformers G1 raised a kid. She's just a sweetheart though.
Why does your character want to impress? She's trying to help save the dragons, now -- to help spread the survival of the North. But back in Benden she wanted to do it to make her family proud.
Why do you want the character to impress? Morale. Hers, not the North's. Amila's a good sweet girl who was loved, but gets somewhat quiet and shy -- even pulling away from others. And a friend would really help her creep out of her self-made hole. Or, you know, drag her out on their back going 'DIS MINE'.
What plans do you have for your character's development and future? I want to see where Amila goes and how different events affect her. If she got a dragon, how she responds to it; how she handles the responsibility. I tend to let RP decide and don't plan too deeply because my characters aren't easy to predict even for me.
How will impressing a dragon affect this? Here's my logic.
Amila doubts she'll Impress but doesn't SHOW it to anyone. She's very careful to not let on, even to the eggs. She'll be encouraging everyone else -- being picked WILL force her to stop, think, and to consider her future life choices, because she's responsible for not only herself, but a dragonet, and now Northern Pern. A green means if she avoids firestone, she cvan help save the Northrn dragons -- responsibility! A blue is... A force to be reckoned with, and a brown is.. Well. You wanna see her flip in surprise? Boiling down to, the draghonet will affect her. The color will also affect her life. LET'S EXPLORE THAT.

Colour preferences? Gold Nope, not really, but the crossed out is mostly 'I am a bad RP Mommy, I want to see ye of little self confidence get confused.' I'm not picky though!

How long have they been a candidate? In a way, as a Healing Apprentice only, since transferring to the Weyr about 4 turns ago?
Are there any risks to their eligibility to impress? None I can think of.
Sum up your character's personality as you see them. Mennick is a highly intelligent, empathic and sympathetic person who always seeks to help others. He wants to be a mind healer in order to do that. For now he is just an apprentice, with studies more generalized. He has a big brother complex and loves to look out for little girls especially. As such, he would absolutely dote on a "little" dragon of any sort, given half a chance. As a rider I see him as an energetic, charismatic role model, but without the ambition to lead.
Why does your character want to impress? Oh gosh, he grew up positively idolizing dragons and their riders! The saviors of Pern! But now that there is a plague he wants to be as close to them as possible, to try to help them out in the best way he knows how, as a Healer. Impressing would still be worth it, even if his dragon were hit with the plague...
Why do you want the character to impress? I see Impressing as a way to enhance his studies as a Healer. As a rider he could better understand the mind of one who loses their dragon so that he could better treat them. Even going through the experience of not Impressing would be a valuable experience for him. I want to see where these developments might help him grow as a person.
What plans do you have for your character's development and future? Right, so. I like to see how my characters would react in different situations. This canon provides so many opportunities! I want to develop him as a teenager which I did not do previously.
How will impressing a dragon affect this? A dragon bonded in this setting will put him through different situations because of the nature of puberty, and the plague. Seeing classmates lose their dragons and even their own lives will really affect him and he will feel the grief every time they pass on. But he will have to endure and help others to endure. It'll be very hard on him but I think he could do well over time.

Make this character exclusive? No, but if you feel there is a personality in another clutch or in your plans that would best suit him, I am happy to wait. He won't know any different.
Personality preferences? No to Reserve. He's too squishy and gentle for someone so cold, and would probably shy away anyhow.
Appearance preferences? What's wrong with a purple Blue? Orange Browns are great too. And Greeny golds? All the misfits are fine! Normal or boring ones are fine too. I like them.

Are there any eggs you feel your character especially resonates with? Oh gosh, it may be a mistake but I can see Mennick and Power practically hopping in place, full of energy. Not exactly hyper but just eager and ready to go. What a powerhouse of motivation they could be!
Are there any eggs you especially hope your candidate impresses to? No, but I'm really curious to see how he might be drawn to Tranquility's event horizon, so to speak.
Are there any eggs you feel your character is especially poorly suited for? Reserve just seems completely incompatible. I feel like the cool detachment would harm his sweet nature over time.

Age: 16
Is this candidate a stands impression? Technically yes (sort of), but he will be on the Sands.
Which group will this candidate be in for the Touching? Almost every day, either time slot, probably. (Maybe 29th morning?) He will not participate in Touching the eggs unless strongly encouraged to do so.
How long have they been a candidate? Probably 2-3 turns as he was transferred to the Weyr four turns ago, but probably did not serve as a medic until later.
Are there any risks to their eligibility to impress? He is a Weyr healer that stands off to the side ready to assist Candidates and/or new Weyrlings. So he actually is on the Sands but isn't supposed to Impress. The dragon always knows. But, he may be treating other kids at the time if/when his dragon hatches.
Sum up your character's personality as you see them.
First impressions usually include, "He is a grouch." He is a no-nonsense kind of guy with glasses to emphasize the point. He can't see people at his own table but he won't let on if he is without those glasses. He can see quite crisply across the room, so it's almost as if he is ignoring his companions. Other times if he is studying he will half-listen to the conversation but not react, as he is reading or writing. He will tell you quite bluntly that he is busy. He is health conscious and jogs around the bowl every morning. Early morning. Morning person. All of this will change if you invite him to meet your dragon, a total fanboy. He'd probably get roped into assisting the oiling, or give the dragon a personalized check up-- hey, wait, this is a trick. Good-by.
Why does your character want to impress? Don't tell anyone, but he loves dragons. He just won't let on, unless someone starts talking about dragons and he's a goner. It rarely fails to put a little smile on his face. He would want to help the people preparing to save everyone from Thread or this new plague. He does remember a time before the plague when dragons were protectors of everyone. Now they and their riders are the ones needing protection. The riders are where he comes in.
Why do you want the character to impress? I actually don't mind if he doesn't Impress, but wanted to give him the chance. I also see him as a good candidate for Wherhandler, as he can be a nightowl. But he would be fine during the day too, he's one of those people who can adjust like that.
What plans do you have for your character's development and future? I would like him to walk the tables someday with knowledge enhanced by both book learning from the Crafthall and hands-on at a Weyr. He is already well on his way to that goal! After that, Mastery, and he would like to teach other healers what he has learned.
How will impressing a dragon affect this? Who knows, maybe a dragon would change his mind about different aspects of and choices in his life. Or the direction his healing career moves in. For example, maybe dragonhealing? But I think becoming a rider would simply delay the age he walks the tables, which is not an issue.

Personality preferences? Maybe someone that will lighten him up! Oh, so Maddeck's humor is deadpan in nature? A dragon that understands this would be great. And someone please help him remember those glasses. He really doesn't realize how much he needs them.
Appearance preferences? Two wings, four legs, one tail, two eyes, one mouth, many flames. Unless green... then no flames.
Other:
~ If he Impresses I would very much like it to be when he is acting on the Sands as a medic. I mean a hatchling crying for their chosen because he's stepped away can be pretty dramatic, and I suppose that's fine, I just don't want this to create a scene unless that's part of the writers' plan.
~ Also, his glasses correct the flaws in his vision. Should he Impress he would commission goggles with the same prescription.

Are there any eggs you feel your character especially resonates with? He studiously ignores them. Or that is what he'll have you believe. One of the eggs would need to poke at his brain first, I'm afraid. He's too worried about Candidates annoying the mother or putting out an eye.
Are there any eggs you especially hope your candidate impresses to? Maybe Support or Tranquility? They seemed like they would be a good match.
Are there any eggs you feel your character is especially poorly suited for? Reserve. Too cold and distant for people who would want to serve people. Since personality is a work in progress for them, if Reserve matches well in your opinion, I would not oppose.

Sum up your character's personality as you see them. Thinks life is hard, but tries to keep positive, likes to help people because he feels better after doing so.
Why does your character want to impress? Cliviri is lonely at the Weyr, he knows few people and misses his caravan. He’s used to a close knit family, but came in hopes of helping dragons. He hasn’t had any luck, no one has, but maybe he could help his own dragon.
Why do you want the character to impress? Because Impression is fun!
What plans do you have for your character's development and future? Cliviri is going to develop as a character by becoming friends with two healers (Maddy and Menny) and meeting up with people who had worked with his caravan before. This will make him more comfortable in his place in the Weyr. Further than that, I’m uncertain as to thus far.
