Maegara sighed and crouched down once more. She wiggled her tooshy, and prepared to jump, waiting for the butterfly that was floating above her head to land.
"Like this. See how I'm lined up? See how my...well I don't have a tail, but you have to pretend these reeds are my tail, ok?" She gestured at the swaddled up reeds that had been tucked into a utility belt on her waist. She kept her eyes focused on the insect still floating lazily above her.
"Now. When the prey is in the idea spot, which would be directly in front of you, NO hesitation. Got it? You need to strike! Okay, Nonougo?
Nonougo?
NONOUGO?!"
She turned to find her pupil and nearly died. There was her apt student. Chewing on a stick. Smacking a hand over her forehead, she growled and took a heavily flopped back onto her back.
"We're never gonna get this, are we?" Nonougo watched her mom flop down and tilted her head. She had no idea what the tiny deity was doing. She already knew how to hunt. Sort of. She did catch the slow mice in the underworld.
And it wasn't like she wasn't paying attention. Her teeth hurt. It seemed that with her last shedding, she was getting new teeth as well. They just hadn't quite come thru yet. And they hurt. And chewing on the stick made em feel better.
OH! Maybe a stick would make mommy feel better! She seemed cranky.
Off the little purple snake slid, in search of another green stick. Maegara sat up as the sounds of the chewing stopped, only to find her purple pupil gone. Without a trace. Which wasn't good, cause she wasn't sure if snakes were part of this particular ecosystem. She had just brought her out here to hunt. Or try to.
Growling under her breath about abysmal conditions and things she'd rather be doing, she quickly sat up and lumbered off thru the forest calling for her newest pet.

Theras' lilac eyes gazed upwards as he watched the sunlight filter downwards It wasn't often he got a day off and it was even less often he took his spare time on the mortal plane but here he was, laying under a large tree. As much as he adored his family it was nice to just get away.
He wanted to think. Think about everything. Think about the questions he had like what was it like to be a simple mortal? Godhood was pretty sweet but the mortals were different. A innocences that made them return to Grandma's parties though even he had managed to hear all the stories about them. Surely they all must know how crazy those endded but they still came. What made them do that? It was a mystery he had a hard time wrapping his head around. Was it because he was a god? What made him a god besides his linage? Why did his mom keep his father such a big secret?
On and on his mind raced. Theras let out a defeated sigh as he thumpped the back of his head against the tree's bark to let it rest there. Was this just 'growing pain's'? If they were, they kinda suck.

Maegara slid to a stop as a small thump sounded. Maybe that was her noodle. Taking off in the direction of the thump, she paused when the clearing became....well, clear. In it was that little brown nosing, stuck up, vapid, airheaded miserable c**t that had caused her such a scene at the last vday party. My, my, the walking dunce was a far, far ways from home.
She crouched down and crept closer, peeking thru some bushes. "Now would be the time I loose my noodle." She whispered to herself. She could have.....wait....was that....?
She narrowed her eyes as she focused just past the idiot. Nonougo was slithering casually along when a new smell hit her. Like.....victory? That was an unusual smell. Sweat and glory and the feel good buzz after a fight. Mixed in with a little cloud and lightness. It was definitely not an underworld smell.
Kicking into stealth mode, she silently slithered her way toward the smell, her nose crinkling as it got stronger. When she got to the edge of the clearing, her eyes widened when she saw the culprit.
'Mommy has a drawing like him at home on her dartboard. She likes to throw knives into his forehead! Oh!! Maybe I should catch him and bring him home?' she thought, smiling evily around her half gnawed stick. Kicking her body into stealth mode, she crept closer towards the diety. WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE DOING?!
Dear persophone, she knew her noodle lacked a little intuitive thinking but she was heading right towards the one person she should be staying away from. If only cause his stupidity would rub off on her.
Wait. She recognized that pose. Was she.....
Her eyes narrowed further until barely a slit was open. That little danger noodle was hunting him. Dear goddess, today was glorious. She had dreams about this scenario. She resisted a chuckle at the gumption of her pet.
"She's got balls, I'll give her that." She muttered under breath.
She made a brash decision, because who isn't going to help out their pets? When the creeper noodle got close enough to attack, she shook the bush she was hiding in, hoping to distract the big lug before the attack.

His eyes narrowed as the bush moved unnaturally back and fourth only once. He jumpped to his feet and easily snapped off a hanging branch. If he had to defend himself he'd be able to a bit better than unarmed. His body tensed as he raised the branch over his shoulder and walked towards the bush that swayed wrongly. He was ready to swing at the slightest thing that was wrong or dangerous.
As he got closer he started to notice the pinks, yellows and purples he thought might have been beautiful flowers now seemed more unified. One piece...A being he reconised. "You?" His face was puzzled as he stopped before the bush and who he now knew was one of the furies crouched down in it. His posture imdenatly relaxed as he stuck his makeshift weapon into the ground and leaned against it. His guard was totally down and it was clear that he didn't see her as any sort of threat.
"You ummm....Working? Or are you just really into bushes?"

Maegara waited patiently for her trick to work. and just like she knew the thick headed god would do, he fell for it. He watched him creep over while her purple noodle slowly crept up behind him, silent.
When he reached her hiding spot, she popped up, her snakes preceeding her exit by lurching out at him with a mighty hiss. Not even bothering to calm her hissing hair, she did manage to give him a somewhat friendly toothy grin, which in itself should have set off his radar.
"Maybe I came to see you?" she asked lightly, focusing entirely on his face. And not on the little danger noodle who was almost at his ankle.
Nonougo lowered down onto her version of haunches, just like her momma had told her. A few adjustments, a little tail shimmy, a last check for angle, and she struck.

His face was totally puzzled. He knew something was up. "Trying to get umm...Vengeance on me?" She was the vengeance one right? "Or was it anger?" He mumbled to himself as he began moving to his right, walking off slightly lost in his thoughts. He was so bad at this sorta stuff. "No that's not it either." She had spoken to one of his cousins...He didn't quiet know why either.He just knew it must have been serious and putting any crinkles in Grandma's party was not allowed.
He kinda shrugged to himself and jumped to catch a branch to hang off of it. "Dunno why you'd want to see me. I haven't done anything bad." He figured she was working. Why else would a Fury come to the mortal island. "Unless you need help finding someone?" Wasn't like he was doing anything else, might as well offer his aid to her.

Maegara instantly stiffened at the back handed insult he threw at her. Not.... Know.....Which.... her eyes narrowed as she focused on his face. Her snakes felt the instant change in her posture and slunk back against her head, almost hiding behind her head as she audibly hissed.
"Of all the intellectually challenged, moronic things I have ever heard or seen, the fact that you are still breathing air is at the top of the list." she growled, the air around her automatically growing colder as she subconsciously drew from the underworld. The feeling of death had started to permeate her skin with the rise of her temper as well as some clouds around her ankles.
"As if I ever needed your help finding someone. As I ever needed your help, period. If it wasn't for your family and lack of an actual crime, I would have you on the ground begging me to release you!" she shouted as she stepped closer. Had she not been so pissed, she would have realized her mistake. One. Letting her anger out. And two. Nonougo.
She had forgotten about her lil danger noodle. Taking a step closer, she only realized her mistake when he took a step to the side and all she saw coming at her was fangs and blur of orange and purple.
Catching the little snekie with a loud oof, she was thrown back a bit from the force that reptile emitted with her strike. Which was enough to throw on her tooshy.

He was about to say something. He had his mouth open. He was going to explain how he had trouble naming off his own family members sometimes. Sure there was Himeros. Everyone knew him...But then there was his sons, Theras' cousins, and oh for the love of the river Styx he could not tell them apart. Add whatshisname Elvis wanna be's sons to the mix and he was always left dumbfounded. His family was too big and ever expanding for him to keep track of.
He WAS going to explain all this as the snake girl got REALLY pissy at him but he was startled by a sudden flash of purple out of the his eyes that caused him to drop back down to the ground and ready his weapon again as the dust settled. Ummmm...
"...There's a snake on your boobs."

Maegara reared up and glared at Theras. "What was your first clue? Or are you unable to tell the difference due to lack of a real brain in exchange for all that damned testosterone?" She snarled before turning toward the cause of her heart palpatations.
"And you! How could you miss? He was right in front of you!" She yelled, throwing her arms up in the air. Her eyes were glowing with anger but the air around them had turned back to normal.
The small snekkie seeed to shrink under the gaze of her stare. Which about broke what was left of Maegara's heart. Still ignoring the winged buffoon, she wrapped the snekkie in her arms and quickly apologized.
"It's ok. You'll get a piece of his flesh between your teeth eventually. I"m sure of it. I promise to hold him down if i have to, ok?" She crooned the quiveringd snek in her arms before remembering Theras still stood nearby.
"And you! What the hell?! You couldn't just stand there and get bit, could you? " Accusation and anger battling for doominance in her voice. "Look what you did! You've hurt her feelings!"

There was no amount of training that could have ever prepared him for the scorn of the angry Fury. Theras was left dumbfounded at all the accusations and pure hate directed towards him because he moved? He wasn't aware he was suppose to be apart of this plan though clearly he had to work on his detection training some more.
"I'm...Sorry?" He felt pretty embarrassed about all this. This other teen was scolding him like he had just taken the last delicate chocolate from his mother's secret stash. He was even more thrown off by how much she seemed to cared for the little snake. He thought Furies couldn't love but there was something she clearly felt. A bond? Probably the closest way to describe all this he was seeing.
With the scolding finished for the moment he rubbed the back of his head. There was one thing he did want to know. "Why do you hate me so much anyways? We met for like...Two minutes. I don't even know your name and I don't think you know mine...Not that the later clearly matters." He moved back to his previous tree and sat back down in the shade under it. He did this less because he wanted to sit and more of a subtle submission jester towards her. If she felt bigger maybe she'd be put into a better mood? Did she have a better mood? Either way he waited for whatever loathing she was bond to throw his way.DaemonGabrielle Hell hath no fury as the scorn of a....Fury.

Maegara glared at the winged mucle man as he sat down. She refused to acknowledge the apology. Although now she felt kind of bad for him because he looked like a kid who had gotten caught stealing cookies. Then he asked the stupidest question she had ever heard and she no longer felt the pity
"Why?!" She asked incredulously. Was he serious? She may or may not have been stunned into silence by his incredible stupidity. When she came back to her senses she started to laugh. It was ridiculous after all. One of those thunderheads asking why she hated them.
Wiping the tears from here eyes, she turned her cold eyes back to him and asked simply "Do you have any idea how much trouble your family causes? The heartbreak? The treachery that we furies deal with everytime you guys hold some shindig? How many times one of my sisters or i have been called because of a wayward arrow or marriage or just plain debauchery?! The cruelty amd lack of responsibility from your damn family is astounding. Don't get me started on the blue one and his weird a** longing powers. Ya'll should really get him to talk to someone about that." She paused for a second to let him chew her words before returning to her rant.
"I mean, your sins run so deep that even your own family have debased themselves and cheated. The grace of my mistress is all that saved her from my wrath!" She stopped snarling and took a deep breath. The indecent actions of that blue female ******** still ticked her off.
Returning to her train of thought, she asked calmly, "Why should i treat any of you with respect and morals when you guys are almost the entire reason I exist? That my services are even neccesary?" She turned to pet her purple side kick ad shook her head as she rambled. "Imagine being called upon day and night for weeks after one us threw a party. Would you not loath and hate us? Would you not want our blood upon your alter for causing such unnecessary chaos and tragedy? It's utter baffonery." Twitchapher the 3rd take some cold emotion. Lol

"Guilt from association huh?" He guessed that was a reason. "Even though I can see your point not all the blame can be put on my family. Last year was first one and even I had heard the many tales of what happens at these parties. The whole island knows at this point or should. The parties are completely voluntary. No one has to go. They do go. Every year. By their own free will. If they go while already being in a relationship then it is their choice, isn't it?" He stopped and looked up to the light filtering through the trees. "If their desires deep down are fouled by temptation and not loyalty to the ones they love then even my family's crazy parties aren't going to stop them. They'd just follow their temptations a different day."
He ran his hand through his green hair. "Ok, you're right. Uncle Pot-hole does have weird powers. And I'm pretty sure Grandma took away Uncle Elvis' marriage things away unless someone REALLY asks." He let out a sigh. "Of course I'm going to defend them. No matter how crazy they can be they are still my family and I love them."
Her talking about one of his family cheating had his full attention and he looked to her. "Someone cheated? I mean they are crazy sometimes but most of my uncles and aunts are at least devoted to any significant other...Most of them don't do full on relationships...But Uncle Ant-toes and Uncle Eros. They are both married and I really don't see them being the type to be unfaithful. Uncle Ant-toes would bust some skulls if he found out someone was being unfaithful like that." He looked totally bewildered that anyone could even possible do that in his family. She was their last year but...He thought she was just causing problems? Press-a-phone and Grandma seemed to have their little spats so he didn't really think much of it but...This all totally caught him off guard.
"Who?" He seemed focused on this point now. The rest of her speech fell to deaf ears. Something about blood and hate.

She stared at him, yet again indignant. "Are you kidding me? Temptation is only temptation until someone comes along and causes it to grow. Perhaps they could battle their own demons if they were not drunk on emotion and whatnot!" She couldn't help the snicker that escaped at his nicknames for his family. Uncle Pot-holes. What a name. Made sense, since he seemed to be the one with the least up in the brain. But him getting stuck on the cheating sibling was a shock. She figured the whole family knew. And that queen airhead had just swept it under the rug. She sat up straighter and leveled her ice gaze on him. "There is no way that you have gone this long without knowing that Pot-hole's kid was macking up on someone other than her lifemate. Please tell me you and your family are not that stupid. I mean, i know i say it a lot but the goddess of darkness help us, i never once thought your family would stoop this low. I meam, i didn't think the queen of airheads had it in her...." She paused to think about the repurcussions this might bring about and also to pet a sleeping danger noodle in her lap. Then again, if that vapid hooker had any idea, she hid it well. No one had punished the cheater yet, as far as she knew.

He immediately regretted asking that. "Addy?" His cousin? His face clearly wanted to disagree with the Fury but he knew she wasn't lying. "She...Couldn't possibly be THAT stupid." He wasn't saying this to argue with her. He had to say it out loud to believe it himself. Theras shook his head to himself. He clearly had a million questions but he didn't want to ask any of them.
"It's...Complicated....Some things...Addy doesn't live with us. From what I know she was raised by her mortal mother and I don't think she has much contact with her father. " That was going to get a sassy remake from the Fury for sure. "Unless we're told, I don't think anyone really follows day to day life of family members. As demi deities of love they should you know...Know better..." He ran his hand through his hair again. "Clearly not though." He mumbled his words. "River Styx what do I now? Grandma's yearly party is coming up soon..." Had she really hid it for so long? "If Addy knows any better she'll admit her deceit to the family then beg for forgiveness the next she comes around to the temple." The teen was filled with many emotions that just were so overwhelming to the point of pure frustration. This just...Was stupid.
The was the loud sound of Theras' head hitting the tree behind him as he looked back up to the sky again. "Ok I give. You're right....Whoeveryouare. We are stupid."

She smiled inwardly yet her face was still set hard as stone. Maybe the blue cheater would be punished yet. Oh, this day had just gotten better. Plus watching the muscle bound idiot suffer was, in her opinion, icing on the cake. She couldn't help it. She was wired that way.
Screw giving him her name. If her sisters ever found out she'd spent the day gossiping with one of airhead's kids, she'd never hear the end of it. So she ignored his jabs about her name.
Thke admission of stupidity, however? That she couldn't ignore. "Well, i've only been telling you this since we've met." She crooned. She was unable to keep all the joy out of her voice. It was an impossibility at this point. There was chance of retribution. A meager chance, but still a chance for a cheater to be punished.
"But nobody ever trusts a fury until it's too late. Maybe you'll be different"
She had a new goal. Get the empty headed warrior to spill the beans. But the heavy thunk of his head caused her little purple pet to start awake before she could really think of her next move. So instead of responding anymore, she simply called up her powers and slipped through veil. If all else failed, she had just laid down a wicked exit line. So poof she went. One second she was there, the next, all that stood in her place was a little smoke and darkness.
