Winter was coming as the popular TV ads were stating, ready for the Fall season. Back to school sales were already gone and the newest freshman for Destiny City college had already settled into their classes. Gev knew the college schedule. Wyatt attended classes. Gev never went. College seemed so strange to him now. Maybe he had wanted to go. Back when he was Ladon. Back when he remembered reasons why he wanted to go and what kind of life he wanted, but now it just felt like an entity. He knew about it, but aside from that he had no drive to pursue it. It was something for civilians. For people outside from his world. Outside from his memories. It was hard enough just to maintain a job, but it made the days pass by quick enough for him to keep busy until night fell and he could patrol again. To return back to uniform where things felt better.

Where he felt like himself.

Standing atop one of the Destiny City College buildings, he looked about looking for some direction to go that night.

It wasn’t hard to tell when a General King stepped out into the world, their power signature so wide It could be felt across the city.

Still, Zinkenite chose to take that risk, stepping out in uniform to greet the night, and… as it turned out, a knight in the near vicinity.
He thought about jumping that way, making his way across the rooftops like he once had, but instead opted to teleport closer before he considered jumping.

He didn’t know the uniform, new faces. So many damned new faces. He really needed to see how well they were doing keeping up on information.

They felt like a full on knight though, he’d missed a lot when he was gone.

“… Good evening.” He said by way of simple greeting.

He had felt the pop of energy in a second. It shot out like a beacon that blanketed the area in a radius of Chaos, and he was so close that he felt like a Geiger counter should be beeping out of it's mind. Purifying into a Order Knight did not in any way dull his ability to sense the energy levels from a distance. Youma. Dark Moon Court. Chaos. Senshi. Corrupted. They all had their nuisances and mixed in each group was the level in which they shown. How much power was pressed into the small of their bodies. This was not someone who was a captain or some Eternal corrupted. They were a General Queen or King and he felt rigid with the old conditioning to stand alert. It took everything in him not to automatically kneel on one knee and await instructions.

He was Order. But what was a General King or Queen doing in Destiny City? Something was going on.

Before he even had the chance to debate if he should investigate, the signature blinked out and showed right on the same roof as him. Staggering back at the sudden pulse of energy that clashed like lightening beside him, his eyes focused on the person who appeared.

And his heart leapt right into his throat and turned to ice.

He hadn't seen his old friend since the date of his punishment. Since the time he took Leto's starseed from him, met him back at the Negaverse headquarters, and marked him. When he took all his power from him. When he showed him to Metallia. Back when all ties of Team Enterprise were destroyed and business took full hold of his once-beloved friend.

Swallowing, he stepped back wide-eyed at the General King, a cold sweat starting over him as he thought of what might be obvious to Zinkenite just by looking at him? Would the strange magic of purification hold and keep him safe? And what would Zink think of him now? Surely he knew by now he had been gone with Bismuthite for over a year. Did he think he was dead?

What would he do with a confirmed traitor?

The words came and went and it took a moment to recognized he had been spoken to. "Evening." He managed, barely blinking since the time ZInkenite appeared.

He couldn't think of what else to say, throat tight as he stared back at the officer, and tried to push down the old thoughts of them working together. Fighting together. Talking together.

The sheen of sweat on the man’s brow earned raised eyebrows, and a second glance over. He was more used to, well… sass than fear.
He didn't necessarily mind not being told off, or anything similar. But, he was unaccustomed to causing someone to break out in a sweat.

“If it makes you any calmer, unless you start something I’d rather talk than fight” He offered, tipping his head to glance over the uniform.

“Zinkenite.” He said and offered a hand, it wasn’t… a human hand, nor monstrous. It was just, ornate, and almost delicate metal that vanished into the familiar sleeve.

“And you are?”

His hand goes instinctively to his chest, while the other touched the back of it at the place of the burn. To anyone, he might come off as shy and girlishly reserved. To them, he worse gloves and looked afraid. To him, he could feel the burn of Zinkenite's key and looked at the hand that betrayed him.

But as he asked his name, he stared back, back into a face he recognized so vividly and easily, and saw no such look in return. Zinkenite did not know him. He did not see him at all. He was just some man. Some knight atop a roof. A stranger he wanted to talk to with no idea of the long expanse of years shared between them.

It felt wrong, but he moved slowly, and shook the hand, his grip firm but rigid as the rest of him remained tense. Even with the gloves he could feel the cold metal against the palm of his hand before he released it.

"Gevaudan. Knight of Ganymeade." He recited, but the tone was flat and distant as he looked at the hand before looking up. This close his breath felt stolen as he looked at the General King, and he could recall allt he countless fights they had together before Wolframite turned his back to him and plotted the White Phoenix Operation.

He could remember him gripping his arm and nearly breaking it as he pried the starseed from his grasp and threw him across the warehouse. But the last time they talked - they argued. Fought and spat at each other before Zinkenite put the collar on him. Even then he was close - in arm's reach.

Back then he gave him a chance through demotion, punishment, and the collar. What would he think of that chance given to him now?

Something about this is like a tickle at the back of his mind, touching the back of the hand, reminded him of something, but it slipped away like trying to catch a fish with your bare hands

And then there was name he was apparently in service to.

“Ganymede…” He repeated, and frowned. “Ah.” He said a moment later, not sure at all what he could add to that other than a certain level of sheer disbelief.

“Do you need to sit down Gevaudan? You look like…. like you’ve seen a ghost.”

As if waiting fir the permission he sank down to sit on the raised stonework of the roof and continued to stare at the General King. His one eye continues to move about his person, searching and yet memorizing each detail. It was a reminder for Gevaudan to match the old memories to the present.

"You look tired." He said it without thinking and tensed that he let it slip. "Sorry."

From what he heard from Faustite, the Negaverse was having a hard time with leadership.

"Why woukd you want to talk to a knight? Shouldn't I be your enemy?"

He rubbed the back if his hand that rested on his lap. "Don't you hate me for what I am?" His voice dropped in volume, and this time he did pull his eyes away from him.

“It’s quite alright, I am.” He admitted He wouldn’t say how tired, wasn’t sure if there was anyone he could admit that to, but he was, tired.

“…. As far as I’ve speculated; Knights are the byproduct of what happens when Senshi take someone whom might have been ours.” He said softly.

“Should I hate you for that? We do the same to them when we recruit a sensei, though I suppose the results aren’t quite so… ah, colorful? Thematic... White?”

There is a slight amused tone in his voice when he adds. “You all must have some kind of, magical bleach. I rather think I’d look a disaster at the end of an evening dressed that way.”

He glanced at his shoulder and touched the white sleeve. If it wasn't for magic, it wouldn't be so brilliantly white. "It doesn't work well for stealth though." He admitted.

"Well it does do wonders to clean up after a messy fight. I wouldn't look pristine otherwise." Blood was hard to get out of fabrics not to mention all the time he fought in dirt or on grimey asphault.

"Well you always did look good in black, Riker. Better than glowsticks" He dropped his hand and looked up again. "What brings you out?"

That name, that reference… earns a step back; one heeled boot dragging through the gravel on the roof tar, and Zink’s entire body language going from casual to alarmed, and defensive.

‘What did you say?” The question is very quiet, but his focus is intense.
That wasn’t a name anyone on the side of order should know.

That was dangerous.

“Who… the hell are you?” He said, trying to raise the ire over the need to just vanish. He needed to know. This couldn’t stand unanswered.

He stared back with alarm and confusion at Zinkenite's sudden changr in body language. The question was hushed but had a warning behind it.

Gev took a moment to stare and then look down to figure out what had caused then change before his face feel and his expression changed to shock and horror. It had been so long that he let himself casually mention something a knight shouldn't know.

Panic gripped him anew as he stared back wide-eyed at the General King.

"I...I didn't say anything." He frantically back tracked and as he stood slowly backed away from the agent. The building was several stories up. He could land if he jumped off but it would hurt regardless. He knew Zink could teleport several times. Outrunning him would be nearly impossible.

"I'm nobody. It's nothing. I'm nothing. You must be tired." His words were frantic as he took another step back, mentally cursing his own stupidity that could well end his life here.

“You know me, or more of my history than I’d like.” He said voice hardening.
“Glow sticks, you mention those, but I’ve never met a knight by your name before, tell me who you are! Tell me how you know that!”

The metal hand flexed, opening and closing

“Tell me, at you’re rank, you and I both know why I need to know that.” He said through clenched teeth.

Maybe it shouldn’t have taken this long for him to summon one of the metal spheres that were his weapons, but he didn’t until then.
The tips of his fingers made a small metallic shriek against the curved surface.

He knew he didn't have time to debate. He had 3 choices as he could see it.

Fight Zinkenite, a man with more power than him. Gev and Zink were both experienced fighters but were two kinds of fighters. Tactical against Instinctual. He knew the added rank would put him at a gross disadvantage.

Run which was pointless since the campus had stretches of open ground with no cover and he couldn't teleport. It meant he would be stopped easily and forced into the situation now but with an officer who would then have even less patience than now.

And then the last option.

He curled his hands into fists and bite his lip, his eyes darting before settling on the officer.

He knelt on one knee in traditional fashion akin to any meeting. "I'm.."

He took a breath to steel himself. "..Wolframite."

The smoke bomb slipped a little in his fingers, metal against metal, but he stopped it. The sound as sharp and startling as the breath that forced its way out in shock.

Wolframite.

He just stared, aghast at the kneeling figure before him.

He squeezed his eyes shut, dismissing his weapon.
“Get up, just… get up Wolf.” He said turning half away. “Sorry… Gev.” He corrected perhaps a little sharply.

“You… purified?!” He demanded turning back. “Actually, no, I, can’t even say I’m shocked.” He exhaled again, sweeping a hand through his hair.
There were fine white lines down the side of his face under those bangs that hadn’t been there when they’d last spoken.

He swapped to rubbing at his temple. God he was tired.
“Are you, happy at least?” he asked “Or is it still about revenge? I hope for your sake there’s something more.”

He didn't want to stand. He coukd here the shock and disappointment in Zinkentite's voice. It was also familiar. He had thel same tone when they last spoke. Frustration at his actions. Anger at his inability to see the bigger picture Zinkenite claimed he saw. Disappointment that every chance and plea for him to move on was ignored or thrown back at him. It must have taken work to get those chances for him. To get him another opportunity to stay. A bitterness that came from hoping something from him he failed to give time and time again. To live up to his expectations.

He didn't want to stand and look at Zinkenite's face when he wore these symbols and colors. When his own aura radiated different to his when before they beamed Chaos proudly together.

Time and perspective had brought the old heat and anger down to a timid kindling.

Rising, he looked up, and the questions dug deep. Why was Zinkeneite concerned? Did he nit hate this? Did he even deserve any happiness for what he did?

His questions wanted a good answer. To hear that he was happy and found new meaning in life, but he didn't. In fact he was worse. His brows knit in distress at the questions he didn't want to answer.

He wasn't happy. He hadn't been happy for a while. He was still doing the same thing. The same mistakes. He was chained to his thoughts of revenge and despite knowing it was killing him, he couldn't let go. He actually felt afraid thinking about it. Letting it go. Knowing that without it that he had nothing. That he gave up his memories and those of Bismuthite for this. That he betrayed his own people.

"Bismuthite is happier." He said, offering that. "I think. He doesn't remember his life as an agent. He's moved on." He was healthy. It was being with Torin that made him miserable. He was a reminder of what Wyatt was trying to leave behind.

"You don't need to hear about my s**t decisions. You gave me more chances than I ever deserved. More than anyone I ever knew. All I ever did was throw them in your face. And now I'm..." He lifted his arms slightly. "...this."
