He stood in the open air panting, wiping sweat from his brow that only stained his forehead red. He had found the mirror eventually and smashed it before she had a chance to move in. By then it wasn't long before endurance played a part. They had ran for so long that his legs felt sore. She had spirit and would have been great for a track team. Maybe she had been, but what did it matter now? The wet white of bone protruding from her kneecap said those days were over. The open chest cavity said even more.
He hummed as he nudged her corpse with his heel before reaching down to touch the bloodied golden wolf head he carried as a weapon and desummoned it. If only other things could be cleaned that easily. His uniform would be crisp and pristine tomorrow but he had matter in his hair and under his fingernails. Worse yet was his ribs still hurt from where she kicked him and his nose was still bleeding from her punches. She had to have been a bit of a veteran to know how to fight that well or maybe she was just naturally good. Maybe it was just animal desperstion.
He pinched the bridge of his nose before he knelt down and turned her head over. Leaning, he went and bit into the flesh of her neck. Enough for a mark. He needed to build a repuation. She needed to know. They needed to know this wasn't a senshi or disgruntled negaverse officer. That this was his kill.
And then like a wave he felt it. A presence of Order. He hadn't sensed it as he had been occupied and immersed in the fight before. If they were smart then they'd patrol elsewhere.

Camelot felt the fight between chaos and order from a distance and made his way toward it. It was not comforting when the chaos part disappeared, though the Order aura remained behind. Maybe they had been injured, and could not move from where they were? He was unsure, but he made his way there to check it out.
He was caught off guard by what he saw. Pure insanity, really, and he almost thought it was some sort of elaborate, early Halloween prank. No human being, certainly no one aligned with Order, could do something so deranged. Not without Chaos fueling them. Not without some excuse beyond being a sociopath. Evil.
Camelot hated encountering pure evil. It made it very difficult to maintain that unwavering faith that everyone could be helped.
"What the hell are you doing?!" He reacted on instinct, charging forward and shoving his shield forward to slam into the 'knight', pushing him away from the body with a sheer wall of brute force. It was not an attack, aiming singularly to get him away from the body he'd already defiled before he managed to do anything even crazier to it.
He looked at the body, now that he had a chance to look beyond the shock of gore and recognize what they used to be. A young fighter, as all the others, though her Dark Mirror aura was gone. Everything that made her whoever she had been was gone. He was too late to do anything about that, which only made his need for answers stronger.
"What have you done?"

He had no seen the Knight since the day of his purification. The day Wolframite and Bismuthite gave up half of themselves for a false hope that life would get better. It had been years since that time and it gave him enough time to know what lies rested on the other side. The Royal Knight arrived quickly to the point it almost felt as if he teleported and just as he rose up from the body, the wall of a shield rushed against him.
Bracing himself, he moved back.
Wiping his lips, he glared at the knight and started to circle around the body. If Camelot was attempting to come here and take it, he had another thing coming.
"What does it look like? I killed her. What the hell are you doing?" He asked.
"Why did you attack me? Put down your shield."

"You are a knight! You are sworn to protect and defend, not to destroy! Not to kill and do whatever sick fantasy fulfillment you were trying to pull with this poor soul. What were you trying to do, eat her?"
He saw the blood on the 'knight's' face, and his scowl deepened. He did not lower his shield, keeping it raised and steady between Gev and the body.
It took him a moment to gather himself, his anger at the wasted life still boiling inside him but, for now, he got the better of it. He drew in a deep breath, his expression easing a bit but his very stern eyes turning on Gev for answers.
"Explain to me what happened here. What you think you're doing. I need to understand what I'm seeing, before I can even begin to guess at what to do about it."
He felt betrayed, and in many ways he was. Every purification was important to him, and to see a second chance thrown away, or worse, just used as a lie and a means to an end, cut him deeply. Had this been the intention the whole time? Had Camelot allowed himself to be duped by a force that ran deeper than Chaos, yet could be found in every human being? Did he really let evil slide into their ranks? Whatever this young man did under the banner of the knights, it was Camelot's responsibility. His fault.

His expression was that of cold annoyance that was threatening to rise higher still. Camelot to him had been the highest force of the knighthood and one necessary for his and Bis' purification. In his hands was the gatekeeper who allowed an agent of Chaos into their ranks. However, he grew more and more disappointed with the knighthood and their inability to work as a combined force against their enemies. Worse yet, Camelot had lied and tried to manipulate him to swear alligence to senshi when that never was their obligation. Camelot was part of the disappointment. He failed in his inability to lead his troops
"I am protecting and defending. The Dark Moon Court is a plague upon this planet. It is my responsibility to eliminate these threats as a knight. This is war, Cameot. Did you forget that?"
"Don't be ridiculous. If I wanted to eat her then the jugular isn't exactly prime meat. A leg would work better for that. I'm just marking her like the others. That way they know it was me."
He narrowed his eyes on Camelot. "And what are you going to do about it? Kill a knight for serving his people? For eliminating evil? Kill me over a dark moon senshi. I'd be careful on what statement you are making if you do."
"Now answer me. What are you doing because I have a hard time understanding how a knight of your power can stand around and do nothing?"

"I don't kill unless my hand is forced," Camelot said dryly, "unlike some, it seems, who would just do it to make a show of themselves. You think war is about making a scene? People knowing who you are? Controlling others through fear? You have no excuses, not after being purified of the Chaos that was tainting your starseed. You are choosing to be this monster, and because of that, I have to judge you in a way apart from the Negaverse, the Dark Mirror, and even Youma."
His eyes narrowed, his shield still at the ready, his stance tense and his face set in a grim, angry frown.
"You are choosing to be worse than Chaos itself. Worse than the monsters it creates at the end of its corruption. You are using a cause of good and justice and twisting the ideals of knighthood to suit whatever perverted vendetta this is. The Dark Mirror Court are no plague! They are people, just like you, just like me. Some, most, dragged into Chaos against their wills, corrupted and some seeking the chance to be free. That same chance you stole from someone more worthy, it seems, when I put my faith in the light that was meant to guide you and brought you from the grip of Chaos. Not far enough, not in time."
He shook his head, taking a breath and forcing a false calm over him.
"What sort of right do you think you have, to decide these people, these kids, don't deserve a chance for more? You think you're the prime example of what purification can do? That since it clearly didn't work for you, it won't work for them? You're an aberration. I've never seen anything like this."

"Being on this side doesn't make you pristine and they are proof of that." He said, pointing at the body. "The Blood Moon Court started on this side. They were senshi and they tortured and killed people. MY people. I know first hand what kind of depraved monsters can come from Order. THAT was what breeds on both sides. Don't be so ignorant to think that just because you are a knight, a senshi, or a Negaverse agent that you aren't capable of anything. We're all human. All able to be monsters."
He summoned his weapon as he stared warily at the shield. "You think your own knights are pure because they have never tasted Chaos. The Code itself knows that it can still hold it without ever giving off the pulsing aura of it. Your own knights are lazy while others seek out members of Chaos for revenge. To put them in their place. The senshi you pledge yourself to are just the same way. They have been wronged and unlike you, they do not forgive. They want to fight and in that fighting, can kill."
"I am choosing to use the freedom allowed to me to do what I want. To get rid of a group that harms others. Who ruined the friends I cared for and watched my comrades bleed while tied. No mercy was given to them. I will give them no mercy back."
"You gave me the chance to be free. I thank you and hate you for it. I am no prime example of anything. If anything, you should be aware of what you are doing, Camelot. Chaos was stripped from me, yes. But I was trained since I was a teenager to kill by the founders of the Negaverse. I know how to fight. These are my tactics to win. Now I'm on Order. I'm killing Chaos. I can bring the Dark Moon Court to it's knees. If fear can keep those who do not wish to fight at home, to those innocents that your heart bleeds for, then isn't that saving lives? Is that not keeping them from being trained to be killers and killing your fellow knights and the senshi you have sworn yourself to protect? You want this to be a clean fight but it is muddy black ages ago. Before all of us even breathed our first breath."
"I was trained to be a monster. You have no way of knowing that it wouldn't go away once I was purified. Neither did I. It wasn't without it's costs. Who are you to decide if I am worthy or not? You are no prime example either, Camelot. You're just as human as I am. I have given my dues to be here. I have given up my memories. I have lost my friends. I have lost memories that held my world together."
"But I remember how to fight. I remember how to make others think twice before powering up."
"I remember I was a monster....but now I'm your monster, and I can bite the heads off of Chaos. I can say the purification worked. It set me free to do whatever I want."

"What you're doing is killing children. Friends. Siblings, even parents if they get to be old enough. You have no idea who that person was, or why she was in this Court. If she wanted to be there in the first place, or how deep a hold Chaos might have had on her. All you did was use her as an excuse to cause fear and spread your own hatred. You can claim a higher purpose, but murder in the name of anything is still murder. You set out with a goal, and you heinously accomplished it. That is not fighting for good. That is not Order.
"Who are you to decide that because someone was claimed by one side of the war, by their own volition or not, that they are then unworthy of their civilian life? How can you stand there and tell me eradicating any one kind of person, any one side of a coin, is the answer to war. Do you even understand what you're saying? These people we fight are more than just their allegiance, and you of all people should understand that.
"I will never see someone for just the Chaos in their starseeds. I have pledged to save innocent lives, yes, and that includes the human hearts behind each glamour I must fight. Killing for sport, for some game or self professed ideal, is not how to win this war."
His eyes softened slightly, though he found it very hard to feel pity for someone capable of such gruesome violence. He was doing his best, even as his outrage made the blood under his skin boil and his words felt like they were being drowned out by the heartbeat thrumming in his ears.
"I understand the process of purifying is not easy, but how many have endured the same thing without the ability to choose to do so? Purification is a means to peace, not to perpetuate a darker, more horrible kind of Chaos. You are still a dog of the negaverse, if you think you are making any kind of difference with actions like this."

"And you're a b***h to your ideals and your senshi. There are only so many chances you can give. This is war. Check your history books. People fight and kill to keep their freedom and have the world shaped the way they want it. The blood that's spilled has always been an excuse for murals and memorials to honor their sacrifice. If you think no blood has been spilled on either side and won't then you are failing to protect the knights who turn to you to set an example. They will be slaughtered as you wait for their killers to have a change of heart."
"We were children. I was a child. Leto was a child. Zinkenite was a child. I know that, but once you power up you proclaim yourself a symbol, a fighter, an enemy, and a target. If they wanted their home then they shouldn't power up at all. They should have stayed home." He said pointing at the body. "If they just shut up and stayed home then they wouldn't be here. They should know who the hell they are following. They are going to grow up to be just like her and how will you deal with it then when they take your friends and family and strap them to a chair and slice off their skin! You won't be talking like that if Ares did that to you! Then you'd know how it feels. When you can't go places without looking for them. When your own weapon..." He looked at the chain in his hand. "... makes you remember them. Their chains. When you kniw what burnt flesh smells like......Then you'd know the ******** thoughts in your head that keep talking."
He gripoed the chain of his weapon tightly.
"I didn't come to you to be saved. I came to you to get out with the one person I had. Sure...to find peace." Peace. Wyatt found it or maybe he was kidding himself to. He seemed happy. But he forgot too. They both forgot. He just didn't forget this. The world didn't let him
"But how can there be peace if the people who killed my friends continue to walk? Who would kill what few people I have left in this world that I still ******** even remember now. How can purification bring peace if these people are still here walking to take that away at any moment?"
He wiped his brow, panting and tired, before dragging his bloody fingers through his hair. He stared at the body.
"I gave up everything for this. I'll give everything to find my peace." To make the thoughts of revenge stop. To finally let it be fed so he could stop. So he could rest. To make forgetting himself and for loosing everyone worth it. Worth...something.

Camelot let the other soldier, unable to call him a knight any more, talk. Rant. They were both angry, but Camelot had to keep his head. There was more at stake here than one rogue knight. It was a turning point, a critical danger that no one had quite conceived of when the idea of purification became such a shining beacon of hope for many. What if the purification was not complete? What if something was left behind?
Was it his fault this was happening, after all? Not just in the way that he had already accepted, that he brought this Negaverse soldier to them and trusted in him more than he probably should have. But had he not been good enough? Had he failed in his duty somehow, messed up in his duty and created a monster by mistake?
The idea was terrifying, as it settled heavily in his chest. Was this something that could happen to others he tried to help?
"There is a difference between revenge and peace," he said at last, mastering his emotions to do so. He still clung to his shield, his knuckles white and his arm shaking, but he stood a little straighter. His arm lowered slightly, his stance easing just enough to lose the edge of imminent battle.
"You'll never find peace this way. The blood on your hands will never wash away, and nothing you love will feel the same way. What sort of peace comes from hurting so many others? Doing what was done to you to families who have no idea why their daughters and sons are gone. Who will never know what you've done, or why you've done it. You cause damage for no purpose, and pain that will only lead to innocent lives being destroyed. Not just those that power up, whether they ever wanted to or not, whether they accept what they are or not.Their families, their friends. Your own. Blind anger will consume you, destroy you in ways you can't yet fathom. There's no peace waiting for you down this road, I can promise you that. I want to help you, as I did when I purified you, without any idea of the pain you were really carrying. I cannot allow this to be the person you gave up everything to become. I can see in you so much more."

He glanced at his hands. They were bloody and not figuratively either. "My hands were bloody before you purified me. They'd be bloody fighting as a knight to. There is no way to avoid that. It's a necessary sacrifice." Nealite's words held true in his heart. War was death. Those who fought aimed to kill. Killing was necessary in order to win and protect.
He was just a tool for it. An experienced tool.
"I don't.... know what kind of peace it will bring. But I can't think of her being alive with it eating me from the inside. Knowing what she did. Knowing she could do it again. To me. Or maybe Bismuthite."
"I don't feel any peace. I haven't felt anything ...right in knowing she can enjoy herself when I know what she did." "I just feel.....tired....and afraid." All the time late start night.
He looked away from his hands to the body. "They'd become tools to kill or become just like her. They would follow her orders and kidnap. Follow orders to kill. It's okay to kill them to keep it from happening. Better them first then me."
His anger seeped away as he stared and looked back at the knight. "There is no path but this. It's what I was trained for. It's who I am. There isn't anything waiting but death or victory."
His memory. His identity. His friends. His husband. They were not there anymore. This he had. This could be his.
"I gave up everything. There isn't anything else waiting for me."

"Sacrifice comes in many forms," Camelot said calmly, a sad look on his face. He moved forward, not looking at the body, and put his hand gently on the young knight's trouble shoulders. He might not have condoned the actions, but he saw how much of a struggle this whole purification process was having on the other, and it was eye opening.
There were things he would have to look out for, things he had to do better. Ways to help that he had not even thought about before, and dangers to shield those who purified from that struck from every shadow, not just the ones cast by Chaos itself. Even in the light, in Order, there was darkness.
"You've made an incredible sacrifice, I know. And you come from a place where violence is the only answer. But here, even for those who feel the most lost, the least able to be helped, there are answers and there is help. I failed you, I can see that, but no matter our differences, where we are from or what we believe, I am always at your service."
He kneeled, though he was tall from the get go.
"Forgive me. Allow me to help you, to show you that there is more to this war than death and pain. To your life. You are a knight, and that makes you more than a soldier. More than a tool. There is more to strength and service than blood. Whatever peace is out there for you, I know we can find it."

He was quiet as he stared back. There was little faith in what Camelot was offering. The knight had no idea what was going on and yet he was optimistic that there could be a resolution. The knight was a example of what was to be sought after in the new rank and world he was placed. He offered him and Biamuthite a chance and for that he didn't hate him. He has risked purifying two agents instead of killing them and it had worked well for Wyatt. The man had a life, a house, and could live without restraint.
Why wasn't working for him?
Why was it so much easier for the other purified agents he met?
Why did he not feel remorse for the person he just killed?
"I don't think you can." He said as he stared back.
And he stepped back away from Camelot's hands and his offer.
"I failed you too "
And he turned and ran.
